Some accused me of lying while some said I still live with my parents, others saw my post as a scheme to accrue favour from people.
I never wanted to open a thread about this, but as God would have it, he blessed me ( Not from that thread) through Nairaland best roofer and known philanthropist @ money121 and @despian that sent me something to help with my school project. I managed to squeeze out a little money and branch to the market to get some food stuffs. Below is a detail of how I spent 3k on food stuffs that would last me a week.
Rice 1 mudu(8 cups) : #600 Beans 1 mudu(8 cups) : #900 Potato : #500 1/2 bottle of palm oil : #400( I add just enough to colour the food) 1 packet of maggi : #250 Powder pepper :#100 Onions :#100 Airtime :#100 Total :#2950 The remaining #50 is for Chelsea match later in the evening.
While I didn't make this post to glorify poverty but it seems some people are oblivious to the situation of things in the country at the moment. Apparently the hardship levels is skewed, based on the values that people were quoting on that thread. While some food stuffs are at a premium at the moment, there are some of us that cut our suit according to our ankara.
Next is how I manage the foodstuff to last me a week in no particular order.
Day one: Rice and beans Day two: beans and potatoes Day three: only Rice Day four: porridge potatoes Day five : only beans Day six: Rice and beans Day seven: potatoes and oil Fortunately the stomach does not disclose its contents.
I iterate through the list during the week, I spend only #100 on airtime during the week. I don't call any body and spend #25 daily for 250 mb night sub which I use to apply for jobs. I wait for the following week when it gets exhausted. I use salt as makeshift paste and patronize Hausa black soap for bathing. I've my faze cap to conceal my overgrown hair, though my lord luggard esque moustache have a way of bringing my legs outside. I fetch well water, boil and sieve it, in that way home made Eva water is set, who knows I might own a pure water factory in future so I'm practicing now.
Added plus: My Girlfriend It's a popular opinion on nairaland and the country in general that most Nigerian girls are useless and are out to bring nothing but misfortune and misery to our lives. I beg to disagree because the ones around me (mom, siblings and gf) are anything but useless.
My current girlfriend is a frugal spender and taught me how to spend prudently. She taught me how to cook thereby cutting the amount I spend on food to a significant level. I can give her just #1500 and she would prepare two pots of stew and soup to last me a week. Like my Oga @chatinet would say there are still women that can go to the market with 3k and come back with two nylons.

It stroke me today as so many of my friends (corpers) were asking me on how to engage in National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) personal Community Developtment Service (CDS) because they also want to affect life positively as corps members. This gave me the passion to also share with others through Nairaland.
Some do it because of the award (state and presidential honor), others do it because of the joy in it as they change life(s), but whatever are your reasons, these are the procedures to follow;
1. Project Title You must have carried out investigation on what project you want to do and where you want to do it. But it is important to note this when choosing your project because where you carried out your project matters a lot. E.g A youth corps that dig a clean water bore hole in a slum (environment with poor people) will be highly recognized and valued than the one that dig similar bore hole in the Governement Reserve Areas (GRA) etc that houses the rich. Secondly you should give the people what they need, not what they don't need at that moment e.g, do not give a hungry man cloth to wear, instead you should give him food because at that moment, he/she needs food to survive before clothing.
2. Project Analysis By now you must have known the project you want to carry out. The analysis includes; (i) the cost (ii) beneficiary (iii) sponsor (only if u hv any at that moment) (iv) starting date and closing date (at which the project is expected to end).
3. Project Approval For Corps member, the project approval is usually given by the NYSC (National Youth Service Corp). It is important you get it because your name and nysc number will be written on it and it is required you attach it to any of your solicitation letters. In addition to that, it is the only way your project will be documented by NYSC for any reward or recognition. And to get it, you must apply for it, and to apply for it, you will have to write a letter following all the necessary chain of command and you will be required to attach your project analysis
NOW, you need two things from me i. Sample of of the letter to request for project approval from nysc. Look below for d sample ii. Project analysis that you will attach to the letter 1 above. iii. Project Proposal That's all you need to kick-start your project. Send me your email to forward the sample to you (free of charge) because its in diagrammatic form (with horizontal and vertical lines) as such I always find it difficult to past it for people. If you receive it all you need to do is to substitute, no stress.

Luckily for me, the vaccination centre is very close to where I work, on getting there, there was no crowd, as a matter of fact I was the only one coming to take the vaccine as at that time, so I walked up to a nurse and made enquiries, she directed me to the people in charge, they asked wether I've registered I answered in affirmative, they checked my name in their system and confirmed my registration, after the manual registration, I was shown the health worker in charge of the vaccination, the woman was just nice and straight to the point, I received the vaccine and was asked to sit for 10-15 minutes so that they can observe me for side effects and there was none, though I wasn't expecting any and till now, till now I feel nothing but just the initial needle pain and I know some people that took theirs 6 months ago and they are all fine.
I am scheduled to take the next jab by 28th of next month.
I am a front line health worker and during that first wave and lock down I contracted COVID-19 and the experience was not funny, so I don't want to take chances, I don't want to have the feeling again.
To the naysayers, COVID-19 is real and the vaccines are safe and accessible, please go and take yours now.

Kadejo: I meet this lady during COVID-19 pandemic period which was last year May 2020. She is still a student in a reputable University here in Nigeria, 300Level to be precise. She is 25years old. She has insisted that until she finishes her school, gone for service and do what ladies call "Sisi" for at least another one year, she won't get married. That will be about 4years to this time.
I am in my mid 30s already, working class, earn below #70k per month, also into IT business, willing to get married now because I feel lonely, also need to build a family of my own before I turn 40yrs.
This lady in question appears to show me love, that's to her own way, my orientation is a bit different, I love her too anyways.
But would you advice I wait for her till she is done with all she has said or should I leave her and look for someone else to get married to?
