thekingsmen: Truth be told, due to the governor's recent activities ( his relationship with the muslim community) in the state his statement that Imolites didnt vote for him thus his election day jolt and importantly the attacks from Radio Biafra targeted at him, Okorocha is increasingly loosing popularity in the state. He is viewed by many as a sellout ... rochas said that imolites did not vote for him during election?when did he say this?and if he said this how come he won? |

thekingsmen: There is serious riots in owerri at the moment purportedly over the demolition of illegal structures by the government. All shops and banks around Douglas road - Ama hausa- Mbaise road axis under lock as I speak with heavy concentration of armed security personnels around the area.
Info on ground reveals that todays problem started after the state government gave the traders at Ekeonuwa market and environs a deadline date to evacuate the area or face demolition, but the traders union were said to have insisted that the governor must demolish Ama hausa first which is also along the busy road before their business spots. Some irate youths were said to have busted into the Hausa area and resulted to the riot Update: The situation seems under control at the moment as mobile police men and other security personnels have surrounded the Ama Hausa area
CC ishilove, lalasticlaca phockphockman wombraiders dearpreye truckpusher ngeneukwuenu
Am finding it hard to upload pictures, can't reduce picture size on my phone question is why do the traders want the govt to demolish ama Hausa first before their own market? They don't trust the governor ? |

Onitsha - North+ Central + Asaba
Nnewi - South.
Awka - Central I thought you said obiano has abandoned those mall constructions because from what I see here nnewi own at least does not look so |

Cjrane2: You are 1000% correct bro.
I wish our business people will graduate and start building world class hotels to attract tourists and not just chalets with rentable rooms called hotels. Grand Hotel Asaba initially started well, then suddenly relapsed into the usual room business focus of our hotel system. A modern hotel should be a fun place not just a room to let and sleep in at night, the way we envisage what a hotel should be in Nigeria. A good hotel alone with world class facilities is enough to attract tourists to Enugu than all the local festivals, caves, waterfall we are keen to advertise or market. That does not mean those caves or festivals are not important to develop, but the average regular tourist simply wants a good holiday vacation and not really the anthropology adventure of exploring medieval caves etc. That is why Cape Town SA leads the rest of Africa in attracting tourists, yet it has no festivals or carnivals, but great hotels!
Imagine this picture below is a hotel in a small town of montego bay Jamaica! Notice how they planted coconut trees all over the pool area to give it a tropical paradise feel. Paradoxically, we Igbos living in the tropical Africa cannot do anything close to the standard of this hotel because we concentrate too much on the chalets/rooms part of the hotel. The hotel this picture was taken cost only $150 million dollars to build the entire place! Most of our shoddy hotels cost twice that price to build. Arthur Eze can build a hotel of this standard and with pool area, coconut trees like in the picture only if he gets the advise from well exposed architects. Such architects in our clime are very scarce in Nigeria. 150m dollars is 30bn plus..i doubt any hotel in east cost up 5 billon to build let alone double that of 150m dollars..I doubt foreigners would leave their country with soul aim to visit hotels in another country unless there is something unic in that hotel and even if it is that there has to be other sightseeing spectacles otherwise I guarantee you that patronage of foreigners would still be low...forget festivities but things like exploratory caves, unic natural endowments, wild lifes, weather and historical sites are the greatest tourist pullers...great hotels are more of ancillary items |

Is like you are deceitfully showcasing the other side of you.
As a Statesman and Counselor who preaches unity among different tribes in Igboland, I will frown at making my people lesser than other clans in the brotherhood and will seek the destruction of the entire Union or seek for separation like the Ikweres as to maintain our dignity.
Live and let live, no one is a second class to others. I never said you are propaganda spin doctor...i pointed to the same op who has spewing trash about ochendo achievement here on nairaland in the past yrs now coming here to start with ikpeazu administration...your 3rd and 4th paragraph are not for me sorry |

Ponponkon: Outlining the plans of the government is now propoganda? Ochendo's men are Abians and you don't expect Okezie to kill them do you? Must Okezie kill Ochedo before you believe he is working? Is Okezie the chairman of EFCC? Was it Okezie that sent Ochendo to dention in 2006/2007? Is Ochendo covered by executive immunity? Okezie's mandate is to govern Abia and not to chase your uncle Ochendo up and down.Your evil prayer for Okezie to fail in Ngwaland and Abia will not see the light of the day. Aka nshi gi nga iba gi onu, ichegbiriche you should have known the above when you used to chatter about that ikpeazu was going to seize all the lands ouk and ta Orji arrogated to themselves..you are singing a new song of ikpeazu cannot go after them and the people that worked for ta Orji are also abians.
