BuddahMonk:
Abuja, Lagos and PH all have much federal presence than the entire East hence the rush.

But I still maintain that Enugu State government is still responsible for everything.

Imagine Super Eagle will play matches in Uyo and Kaduna despite the security challenges but Enugu State government never for a day host super eagle, golden, flying eagle or dream team matches yet they have a standard stadium and international airport.

To me Enugu is not developing with the pace it suppose to be developing with because the government have not been able to sale the state to the outside world.

Imagine Bayelsa highjacked AMAA festival tay tay but Enugu is yet to host international film festival except the launch of Igbo Channel in DSTV.

Look at the way Akpabio turn Akwa ibom to a tourist destination developing everything from the scratch, they have golf course and host international events so that traffic will be drawn to the state.

Enugu started ICC yet its uncompleted, they are not advertising about the location of Intl Airport in the city.

South Africa high commission just opened a visa center in PHC, what is Enugu waiting for to attract those of China, India, Korea, etc so that businessmen and women who normally go to these countries for business in East will be moving to Enugu to have all their documents processed and take off from there.

Do we even have a yearly festival like Calabar Carnival, Lagos Carnival, Abuja Carnival, Argungu Fishing Festival...when are we seeing a Coal City Carnival of international magnitude airliners will be willing to bankroll or support.

Why is there no golf tourney in Enugu meant for Easterners called Enugu Open or Masters or Classic huh?

Why is it difficult to connect the rush hills of Enugu with Cable cars and open small holiday resorts in the foot of the hills and sale palmy, okpa or abacha to visitors at high rates huh?

Whether Enugu is growing or not, the pace Enugu is growing is slow considering the rate Igbos are leaving North to Easthuh

If Enugu State government had invested in marketing, promoting and projecting the state to the outside world by organizing some events that will be bringing people to the city on weekly, monthly or yearly basis, believe me Enugu will be the one of fastest growing Economies in Sub Sahara Africa.

How much will these four things cost?

1. An International Confrence Center.

2. A golf course (world class with activities).

3. Connecting rush hills with cable cars.

4. Create website for Enugu tourism, print brochure, advertise in magazines and newspapers,
I am not sure my post needed this long write up...what I was trying to say is that if there are a lot more people investing in an area then instead of saying not everyone will have money rather one should think of a way of grabbing some of those cash floating around..if abuja,Lagos and ph was what prompted all that you wrote what about back then in the 70s and 80s when aba was booming and subsequent migration there?Kano in the 40s,50s up to 80s?Jos 50s,60s up to 80s? That Enugu is not maximizing what it has is a different story totally different from what I was telling milychocs

until those people come out to collaborate what he says I will take with a pinch of salt

Another evidence, Okorocha took after the name of his Igbo father (the father of his two sisters).

The name okorocha in Igbo language means "A man with light skin"

Now here is the puzzle... His two sisters who are the real biological daughters of his father, are light skinned, But okorocha is not, because he is not the biological SON of his Father Okorocha (A light skinned man).
this does not hold water as their are numerous siblings of same parents where some are very fair while others are dark

Normality:
Oh my Gawd.

Okorocha, agbogho awusa.

His mom separated from her husband, ran to Jos Plateau, and met an Hausa man, she had two sons with the Hausa man, Okorocha is the first one.

Few years later, the woman reconciled with her first husband whom she also had two daughters with.
So she came to stay with her mom in the mans place, her mom named him Okorocha.
Later he had to return to his father, who took him to T.Y Danjuma. Danjuma in turn got him hooked up Babangida who gave him a contract to supply Police Hilux and Uniforms.
Then he ventured into commercial school.

Mehn a lot, he even took several Loans which he had to use IMO state money to service.
He borrowed money from Islamic bank to build round abouts and in return gave juicy positions to Moslems and built mosques all over Owerri.

Hmm, nawa o!
not sure if I should believe this story though I know that the police hilux and uniform part of the story is true

I even modified it
I sense he was being mischievious
I may be wrong though
the issue is that since there is a lot more money in circulation because of these people investing there the onus is on average or poor people living there to set up or engage in biz with a view to be grabbing some of those circulating money..
There is a reason for the migration to Lagos,ph and abuja

Your friend may be right (I am talking about the too many propertiy and investors in Enugu mu)
Is there any other concern or observation?

Cos... huh

Also...the comment about Bentleys etc is embarrassing..,stop Inugo?
That is not the progress we mean here
Thank you as you send more sibling investors to our state
We welcome our Imo, Delta, Ebonyi, Abia and ? Rivers siblings too
Thanks
the meat of hos comment is that the amt of money circulating in Enugu state has increased far much more than it used to be

anonimi:
What was the issue?
aba was supposed to be carved out from the eastern bloc for the geometric power to supply constant uninterrupted power..that was what it was supposed to be when the geometric power was built..when nnaji became power minister it was supposed to be cemented until he was removed and power privatization was done..emela offor won the bid for Enugu disco but somehow with his connection to sambo aba district was included in the Enugu disco division which meant that geometric power already built became redundant

What percentage of project completion would you estimate based on the level of work you saw ?
I cant because it was not like I went there specifically to see progress of work..i was simply passing through egbu road and I caught a glimpse of work going on..it is actially fenced off but there is part that is a bit open that you can see through

those were redundant like what his colleagues had too. Check the Twitter link on the site, it still has ta orji as governor with just 410 tweets(mostly campaign stuffs). These are signs they never worked.
I just wanted to correct the impression that non of the se govt had websites.
Whether they were redundant or not is another story

Never said he wasn't aware. It's there at his backyard. Refusing to address it would make him/his government look insensitive which would be an advantage for a good opposition(though Enugu is a one party state). Remember #UndressNASS etc. The law makers wouldn't have addressed the issues if people didn't take to social media
abia state has always had a website under ta orji's second term...did not make any difference in his administration

Things like the conference centre would have been pushed for(if not finished) if ENSG had any social media presence. The average politician close to the governor will always want a new project and not continuity.
So clamouring for these projects and ideas online will go a long way in getting the governor know the wish of the people. Someone can actually drop a link to forums like this on the handles or pages.
Not forgetting praises and congratulatory messages from the populace for projects and ideas well executed will make a good leader try to be better.
PS: BuddahMonk El rufai's twitter handle is still very much active. Check his(his aides') posts about yesterday's bombing. Dude has the best media presence so far.
doubt if it would have had any effect on the abandoned conference centre..these politicians are not really morons you know..Sullivan knows about the abandoned center and I doubt any pressure would have made him complete it

I know the sites you are talking about, but they are more of a praise blog sites than a true state official website. Like the Chimaroke Nnamani's defunct "Ebeano.com" website that substituted for the Enugu state website while he was in power. Even Obiano has one blog site (http://ifeadinmesi.com/ https://www.facebook.com/WillieObiano?fref=photo)

But check out what a state official website should be from many of the northern states of Nigeria or Rivers or Lagos state site (http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/)
Imo state own used to be imostate.gov.ng not a praise singing blog as such...heck abia state government has a website abiastate.gov.ng ..let us be sure of something before typing

There is something about having a social media account which your citizens can reach you quickly without booking any appointment. It brings you ideas and even intelligence about what is going on. Of course some job seekers or attention seekers can sometimes go there to insult you or do something negative. But ultimately, it is a great thing for leaders to be internet savvy and own FB or tweeter accounts to share ideas with the people they govern.

Apart from Enugu under Chime, None of the SE states even have a state website that is regularly updated and there is a link to leave a message for the governor or commissioners. Our governors typically believe they know it all and have nothing to learn from anyone. it's so sad.
anambra used to have a state website under obi but I don't think the website is on again ditto Imo under ohakim and a large part of rochas' last term.

most of the critics of PMB are from the east. check the tweets and you will understand more. IMO the president should be given time to clear d mess of 16yrs of PDP misrule. The political ministers are only coming to worsen the situation if a solid foundation is not laid down b4 they are appointed.
so all the names you saw on those tweets are mostly eastern names abi?you probably have nightmares about Igbo in your dreams

Their counterparts in the west are more exposed or atleast, employ people that are exposed to help them with tech stuff. The politicians we have in the east are old fashioned people and that is why you rarely see them coming up with 21st century ideas. We need more young people who have lived outside Igboland for a consideration amount of time to mount the saddle. I'm tired of seeing elderly men in power.
ditto Kcinho obiano and rochas all have those media handles...nit it makes much difference anyway..what a governor would do will always do whether there us media presence or nit
