topboss: Everybody cannot come from Orlu town. Orlu is Orlu. na you are wrong..oguta is from orlu zone not town and one would be deluded to think a proud oguta man will focus development in orlu town to the detriment of oguta town..not happening |

topboss: Well, u and I know the best bet Orlu would have got was with Rochas, and he focused on Owerri, which is not a bad thing to do.
But Imo State deserves more than one City, if possible at least three Urban areas.
This is wat i am trying to say.
I did not say his focus on Owerri is wrong, that is good.
I just noted, that bring Orlu urban regeneration into focus was more likely with Rochas as a man from Orlu.
This was Berem sentiment as well. I believe she wrote it up there.
Rochas did not even fix ordinary erosion in Orlu. 'as an orlu man'..that statement self is problematic since rochas is from ideato though it is in orlu zone NOT town |

topboss: Is it only erosion control that Orlu needs?
How do u develop it? do you jump basic problems?do you know the volume of work needed in that erosion project?why didnt rochas pay for the counterpart fund?you will go and develop when ecological problems are earimg into the place you want to develop hasn't been addressed? |

Orlu needs Urban regeneration.
I think it is the Onitsha of Imo State. you said ihedioha will get back at rochas by not doing anything for orlu..now rochas is from ideato which is in orlu zone..so this project is actually closer to rochas real home which is ideato..you get the drift? |

I understand kikake's feeling but the issue is that orlu zone has had more governorship reign in this 4th republic than any zone but for whatever reason didnt embark on meaningful development of orlu zone let alone the whole state..I laugh when people say okorocha developed owerri...with all those substandard and makeshift constructions to hoodwinked people that he was a credible igbo candidate for president?those failed roads?those 27 so called hospitals structures that were meant for siphoning of funds?how come the road he construction to his village failed under 1 yr?what about the almost 37bn bailout funds just before his administration ended..where is evidence of money judiciously used? |

Dedetwo: This is the silly problem that tends afflict most Nigerians. There mere beautification of Owerri as the capital of Imo State has turned into citing of projects and industries in the state. One of the lucrative projects in his history of Imo State is seriously ongoing in Orlu zone. I have strained my eyes to locate the water system project in Owerri. Probably my section of Owerri is left out on the water scheme. There is a reason countries have capital cities which the house the embassies of foreign countries. First impression matters is human psychology. Any visitor who sees Abuja and had no business to visit your village in Orlu must go home with impression Abuja left him with the visit to Nigeria. I bet not one noble investor who visited Abuja wanted to see your village in Orlu. It will be hard for you not to construe my position as a step against the development of Orlu. I want all cities in Imo State to be developed however the resources dictate that critical path method should be adopted. just a question though what is one of the lucrative projects going on in orlu? |

kikake: You publicly deny not coming from Okigwe, but say you are from a community in Okigwe zone. Lol.
But you associate Rochas Okorocha who comes from Ideato with Orlu
A person from Mbaitoli, Ngor Okpala, Ikeduru etc, from Owerri zone can proudly say he is from Owerri - because Owerri is developed city. You deny Okigwe because Okigwe has been made by Imo state to remain a glorified village. If Okigwe zonal water works was completed and functioned like that of Owerri, by now, Okigwe's urban expansion and modernization would have included that your community in Okigwe zone, the same manner urban expansion in Owerri is extending to far Irete, Naze, Orogwe, Ubomiri, etc. These places were served portable water, shall start all over again soon to be served portable water from Owerri water works.
You blame Rochas for not developing Orlu zone, despite the common knowledge that Rochas was only after the development of state capital because of his now useless belief that more people would see his Owerri development to take him for a good presidential material to succeed Buhari. You look only backwards and blame past administrations from Orlu over the development projects they failed to do, use that as an excuse to stop the present administration from doing them.
..and you call someone Kolo..... what about udenwa?what you said here about okorocha sounds like 'let's forget about him because even though he was from orlu zone he wasnt interested in the development of his zone due to.selfish interest'...which now begs the question..what if ihedioha now has the same mindset as okorocha what now happens? |

Before long, Owerri shall become a junk city with urban slums and attendant crimes all over Owerri.
Pray that gov Ihedioha does not continue to follow the path of Enwerem, Udenwa, Ohakim and Okorocha who governed with the belief that state capital must be developed first by govt to international standard before development attention is paid by IMSG to other parts of the State. okorocha and udenwa were from orlu zone..what happened? |

Yampotatocarrot: Come on, let's put sentiments aside (didn't mean this as an insult).
Citing the general hospitals the way he did is a GREAT idea. Even Lagos has such general hospitals in several parts of the state, that's aside LASUTH (state owned) at Ikeja, and LUTH (not state owned)
Imo state's teaching hospital can't handle all cases of illnesses in the state. What about the deaths that'll occur while transferring patients from several local governments to the hospitals... Will the facilities provided and medical personnels there be able to handle the huge cases?
That's why I feel he did a great job with the hospitals, let Ihedioha put pride aside n complete them.
B2mario, thanks for your question to him this is beside the point..how were the existing ones before rochas left office?why didnt he at least upgrade those ones before building of 27? |

arinzeejikonye: Basics are meant to be faced consistently ,it needs sustenance, kinda sustainable approach ,where for instance cyclical and intermittent maintenance works ought to be going on from time to time,
The ministry of works needs an institutionised framework devoid of politicking, and electoral shenanigans.
This is a state located in the rainforest belt of subsaharan, when nature comes calling ,gotta pay your due, irrespective of the amount of tar, stone base poured on her roads, constant cyclical works is the solution ,when nature defies the quality of job done.
Roads being plied by heavily tonned containers, more like a center of logistics for transportation between umahia, portharcourt,Onitsha, aba , with road networks crisscrossing her territorial make up,
Consistency is the word. NB: not in anyway supporting shoddy works. When I mean signature, it could equally be comletion of abandoned projects,
For instance, what becomes of the sealed off shoddy tunnels and flyover,
What plans does the govt have for them, will they leave them like that? Are they gonna deconstruct and reconstruct?
Having a flyover at control won't be bad for me. ok I agree with most of what you said here but having a flyover at control is a no no..more like having many diversion on the main arteries approaching that junction..for eg there should be at least three diversions for cars coming from onitsha expressway that lead in to that owerri ph expressway |

arinzeejikonye: Looking at the aerial view, its on same road leading to the new police and prisons complexes, built by past govt,
These two projects are stategic to the rapid urbanization of that locality, hence it gonna lead to the multiplier effect of incremental appreciation of land value and property market in the area.
Owelle's legacy.
The incumbent gotta think of a number of signature projects, that will act as her legacy when they would leave. on your last paragraph I disagree..it is this 'need' for 'signature projects' that imo state found itself in the state it is now..he should face the basics which are annoyingly lacking at the moment |

I'm not too versatile with Imo state, but with the little time I spent there (I just returned on Saturday), I'll say the government really has to WAKE UP, because the roads are terribly bad.
On a side note, although it's a federal road, do you know the road from Owerri to Umuahia has totally collapsed in some portions? owerri to umuahia is also a federal road..however ccecc has resumed there |
