babapupa: Truly, I have nothing negative to say about Michael Okpara or the fact that he did for his people in the east unlike another gentleman from the east around the sane era.
The fact is, the main and still the foremost industrial hub in Nigeria are the many industrial estates in Lagos and Otta/Ogun state,
The premier industrial estate in Nigeria is Ikeja industrial built by Awolowo,
Mushin alone has 4 industrial estates,
Matori Industrial Estate — (Banking, shoes, furniture, Engineering products,Media & Telecommunication, foods and beverage Industries),
Ilupeju Industrial Estate — (Banking, Engineering products, cosmetics, foods and beverage Industries),
Aswani Industrial Estate — (Textiles Industries)
Ilasamaja-Isolo Industrial Estate — in which steel and aluminum products, furniture, concrete, clothing, plastics, textiles, beverages and shoes are produced.
And we still have Apapa, Amuwo, Isolo and Ikorodu industrial estates.
Nothing corky about hard facts my friend, You asked a question and an answer was giving to you.Nobody is doubting whether the industrial estates in the west are still active.Or are you trying to say that Emene and Transamadi industrial estates are dead? |

Zuha: Eziachi, na you get your mouth. In the US presidential debate, did you see the independent candidate on the day of the debate? Did he bring a group of people to come and protest on live TV?
What do you call a group of people that resort to violence to address their grievance? Is that an anambra phenomenom |

Ikengawo: you ppl are so insanely negative and bitter its unreal. i was scrolling through Skyscrapercity's Nigeria section and the nigerians there are so optimistic and proud. they're constantly updating eachother on developments and posting pictures of success (and they our number the failures) in nigeria
the problem is everyone on this site is in american and britian we all know the media of these 2 countries have been on a blood hunt to make nigeria, blacks, and africa look as bad as possible for hundreds of years, and we're here excepting their 'reporting' without critical assessment.
my friend go back to your country. nigerians are totally oblivious to the fact their country is raising out of the wood fast and from nowhere. You think everyone in this site is based in uk and us think again |

Mekusxyz: Many of the earliest schools were also found in Igboland and in Eastern Nigeria. But be reminded that Igbos began their migratory tendency way back in time such that Igbos were already studying outside of Igboland. Zik, Cyprian Ekwensi and a host of other Igbo pioneers studied partly in and out of Igboland even as far away as in Sierra Leone. How come most senior/useful positions before Biafra war were held more by Igbos than by Yoruba? Yorubas actually had a head start in education over the easterners in general because of their earlier contact with europians but igbos kind of closed that gap from 1930 to 1950 because the kind of open society practised there |

akigbemaru: The first one is Herbert Macaulay, he was a yoruba man from Lagos. He also founded the first national party in Nigeria history. The second and third also Yorubas, but you gotta do the research by yourself, I ain't catching frogs for your da.mn snake.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Macaulay Macaulay became very popular and on June 24, 1923, he founded the Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP), the first Nigerian political party. The party won all the seats in the elections of 1923, 1928 and 1933.[4] Africans and bragging rights |

ChinenyeN: As I stated earlier, the Igbo know what they want and they pursue it. The problem (if it really can be considered as such given the circumstance) is that they do not pursue it for the benefit of the Igbo. Rather, they only pursue it for the benefit of their nuclear and extended family, and not the Igbo at large. I'm not disagreeing with you, though, in respect to Igbo areas needing further development, because I really do feel that it's high time the Igbo, in general, give as much attention as they can to their respective regions of Igboland. Instead, all I want to get you to understand is that the Igbo don't work for the benefit of the Igbo. They just don't. i do not think he will understand the psyche of the igbo person.Same way most yorubas do not understand the psyche of most ogbomosho people who are almost always migratory. |

babapupa: Stating facts and concerns are 2 different things. Pick one and lets take it from there, or just prove me wrong instead of asking questions. Who is denying the fact that igbos tend to settle in places that are not igboland Or do you think it is only in nigeria that it happens?have you been to gabon, cameroun, china and many other countries of the world to see huge igbo populations there?Do you think this trend started now? My problem is when you start saying what legacies are you going to bequeath the younger ones? What kind of question is that? The yoruba peopel that are increasinly being born in london and grow up there and do not want anything to do with naija let alone yoruba land what are there parents bequeathing to them |
