Jos crisis : Constant killings could lead to disintegration National News Jan 19, 2010 By Taye Obateru Jos — President-General of the Yoruba Community in Plateau State, Chief Toye Ogunshuyi, has warned that the constant killing of Nigerians from other parts of the country in the Northern part could lead to Nigeria’s disintegration. He stated this shortly after paying a visit to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Greg Anyating, disclosing that no fewer that 10 Yoruba people have been reported killed in the latest violence. He said situations like this could lead to reprisal in other parts of the country which could threaten the country’s unity, adding: “My people are dying; they are burning their houses. We just woke up and found ourselves in this mess. Some of us have to take refuge in the church. “We want to know if this is Nigeria. If as Nigerians we cannot come here to live peacefully, then we will now tell our people in the South to fight back. We are not going to allow this to go the way it went the last time and some of us are still left homeless. “The Oba Yoruba (of Jos) is waiting for me now for us to go and assess the situation and once it is beyond our control, we will phone Lagos, Ibadan and other states,” he told journalists. Ogunshuyi recalled that the Yoruba down-played the killing during the 2008 crisis of three youth corps members who were all of Yoruba extraction to avoid reprisal, adding: “Enough is enough. If Nigeria must be one, then they must demonstrate it now or else we shall hit back.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/01/19/jos-crisis-constant-killings-could-lead-to-disintegration/comment-page-1/#comments |

We will defend our fatherland. I would prefer a situation where the North provokes the war and threatens secession and we the southerners force them to remain loyal to the Nigerian cause.[/quote]We have a dreamer here |

Today, we have scientists, doctors, physcists etc, we even manage to produce a Nobel winner. How can an uneducated man realize that he has a problem? From which angle would he diagnose his problem?
Would you discuss Keynesian theory with Suya man? Or genetics with the Mei guard? These are far too complex for him to understand for now, but subject the same man to an academic environment, stimulate his mind. Voila! The same man will now be discussing space technology with you. Such is the mind of man. Help must come to the dying man because he cannot help himself. Can you discuss these with an illiterate onitsha or aba trader yet he makes sure his children go to school. |

As we speak the town is divided into two parts, the north and south. In the northern part you'll find your people there with their almajiri schools and what not, while in the south you'll find real humans like my people(southern kaduna people) with migrants from other parts of the country living in peace and mocking the existence of the human cow known as hausa man. edoyad: I find my self cursing the day Major Gideon Orkar failed, all these problems would have ended by now. @real4life don't kid yourself, hausa muslim is one with the problem, they are the ones that marry out 13 year old girls, they the only people in Nigeria that give birth to children and send them out at 5 years of age in the name of almajiri and their leaders who are ministers/governors come out in support of it, they are the ones with 4 wives and 20 children they can't feed or send to school. I could go on but it is pointelss since everyone already knows these, infact it would appear that if you isolate hausa people from Nigeria their country wouldn't be much different from today's Somalia. It is obvious they cannot develop But you live in kaduna an advanced hausa city |

dayokanu: Asha,
Currently Germany has the best youths in Europe.
Last year They won UEFA U17, U19 and U21. Making them the first country to have a clean swoop of all the titles.
Two of the 3 best keepers under 25 are Germans That is Manuel neuer, Igor Akinfeev and Rene Adler
In Mesut Ozil, Marko Marin and Toni Kroos, they have Europes best midfielders.
By the time you add Thomas Muller, Badstuber, Jerome Boateng, Benedick Howedes, Sami Khedira, Andreas Beck to it then we can comfortably say Germany would rule Europe for a long time. Unlike England whose best talents are Walcott, Lennon, Agbonlahor and Ashley Young. Pius Ikedia like players.
In 2007 FIFA U17, Germany 4 England 1, In 2009 UEFA U17- Germany 4 England 0, In 2009 UEFA U21- Germany 4 England 0

Why was there that apprehension that germany lacks good young players some years ago?I mean germany has swept a whole lot of europian youth titles in recent times and a whole lot of good young germans are springing up like Batstsuder,Muller, kroos(i hope this guy does not go the diesler way) and yes a lot of them are 'ethnic germans'. |

My friend Nzeogwu is from Okpanam in present delta state. If you denying it go and tell his mother in okpanam or relations that they are not from delta state. That you grew up in lagos does not mean you should be ignorant(like a few of your hosts that call you omo igbo) of make up of a former part of bendel. honeric01: I didn't comment because of whatever the thread started posted, i am saying what i am saying independently. Yes both states have oil but what they are doing with it is what i don't know, can you enlighten me? though it's the FG that dictates whats done with oil in any part of Nigeria. what are the locals doing to claim their share from these wells? and if they are getting some % from their wells, what are they doing with the %?
i think people should concentrate on developing their states than worrying about having 10% igbos, Hausa or molla in any state. You are going off course. The thread was about the poster's claim that igbos want to claim niger delta and NOT what the individual states are doing with oil money. If that had been the question it would have been a different matter all together. You are the one that brought up the issue that it is about oil even the post is something else. You think locals there in those states sleep and dream of oil money like the folks in the creeks What has bayelsa, delta, edo your state done with the huge allocations gotten from oil?Answer this then i will answer your quetion. |
