Tsiya:
Initially I thought it was not true, but the BBC Hausa service have just reported it. But from their report, the FEC refuse to discussed it, but there is high possibility that they can't escape it next week.
Sahara also reported it.

Predictably, the memo, in which she warned that the FEC had taken the Nigerian people for granted for too long and should do the right thing by urging the president to step down, was shot down by hawks in the cabinet, who did not permit it to enter the agenda.
I wonder why people keep doubting sahara.

Whats the difference between people burning down factories and shops where they work and are paid handsomely and others poisoning their wares in order to eliminate "infidels", especially when there are assumed eternal rewards for this?

FEC fall apart: Akunyili submits "Yar'Adua step down" memo
Written by Sahara Reporters, New York
Wednesday, 03 February 2010 11:54

Dora Akunyili
Yar’Adua’s Minister for Information, Dora Akunyili, created a fiasco at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja today as she submitted a memo calling on the FEC to face up to the reality of Yar’Adua’s incapacitation. She expressed the view that they should urge their principal to transmit a letter to the National Assembly to facilitate a smooth transition. Predictably, the memo, in which she warned that the FEC had taken the Nigerian people for granted for too long and should do the right thing by urging the president to step down, was shot down by hawks in the cabinet, who did not permit it to enter the agenda.

An FEC source told Saharareporters that although Mrs. Akunyili's brave memo was rejected by the hawks, a “cowardly” majority of the members actually supported her position and some of them even congratulated her after the meeting, which lasted only 90 minutes. After the meeting, Mrs. Akunyili briefed the media about the downward “review” of Federal Capital Territory land rates, but did not say anything relating to Yar’Adua’s health.

The atmosphere after the FEC meeting was reportedly tense, and the ministers hurriedly left the Aso Rock Villa to avoid speaking to the press. Last week, the Attorney General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa, claimed after the FEC meeting, in response to a 14-day Federal High Court order that lapses this Friday, that Yar’Adua was fit to continue in office .Dora Akunyili with Yar'adua

The middle belt and Niger delta minorities have gained somewhat of importance in Nigeria its as if the SE or the country is at a standstill.

The OP pointed at the fact that Niigbo in Nigeria are purposely undercounted, Im seriously tired of hearing the political action taken abroad rathern than Nigeria.

I dont know if anyone was thinking about committing a crime in Nigeria or abroad. Everyone feels more equal when their ethnic group or region is on the political scene in Nigeria.

just my opinion no one should jump down my throat, all im saying is I want to hear more about igbo political activity in Nigeria and not abroad.
[/quote]My dear the whole country is at a standstill. That you hear more noise and crises from niger delta or middle belt or from indegenes of those zones means that they have assert there presence in the body polity of this jungle called nigeria which  do not see as a bad thing.

And what has the hausa political activity don the average hausa who is regarded as the poorest nigerian except for bragging rights that does not put food in his table  huh

angry ^^^ Even though you have issues with igbos, ill answer your question.
I dont see a good outcome by doing all this, Im rather a supporter of things in Nigeria.

I dont see the point in it sorry, I dont plan on living in America any longer than I have to. We are not helping ourselves by making niigbo known abroad and not in Nigeria.

They can only do to us what we allow them to do. Ijaws and other Minorities have become more relevant in Nigeria than us.

Another dimension to this is that fooball of the 70s,80s and early 90s was more of skill and technique while football of these days is more of pace and power which somehow makes football former much more aestethic to the eye than the later.

I mean players in the mold of Rui Costa,Relquilme,Zidane or what you might want to call quentisential playmaker is now a dying breed.

I thought i was the only one that was noticing what you are saying.

Despite what people might say of camerounian football (saying they are muscular and less skilful and all that) the camerounian team of italia90 despite being a bit on the rough sided have very good and skilful footballers and used that skill to great effect in that tournament.Aside from RogerMilla, players like Makanaky,Mfede,Massing,Emile Mbouh were very skillfull.

This utter nonsense.
Can a Birom/Angas man ever win political office in Bauchi?
Until we level the playing field it will never happen.

Embrace secularism if religion is the problem. Get rid of Sharia in the north, get rid of State of origin, get rid of government support of hajj/pilgrimages, get rid of rotational representation, get rid of government support of chiefs/emirs/church. Calling ourselves a democracy is a big misnomer.

The fact that Nassarawa/Kaduna have been conquered by Hausa/Fulani's, it will not Happen in Plateau mark my word.
The day I see an Igbo man governor of Lagos, or Hausa man house of representatives in Ebonyi State I will know that Nigeria is a democracy
Untill than this is utter nonsense

The Bauchi State House of Assembly has recommended that indigenes of Plateau State currently resident in Bauchi be made to return to their state just as it also called for the imposition of a state of emergency in Plateau.

Tension also rose yesterday in Minna, Niger State following series of text messages being sent around about a possible clash between Muslims and Christians after the Friday prayers.

A member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Tafawa Constitu-ency, Hon Aminu Tukur, disclosed the Bauchi lawmakers’ resolution to journalists late on Thursday.
Sectarian violence cropped up early this month in Jos, Plateau State, claiming over 300 lives, with hundreds of buildings destroyed. Hundreds of Bauchi State indigenes were said to have relocated home following the crisis.

The lawmaker said the State Assembly held a strong session on Wednesday where it deliberated on the Jos crisis and how it has affected the state and country at large and "recommended that natives of Plateau State should be made to return to their state. Giving reasons for the recommendation, Tukur said: "They (Plateau indigenes) are not willing to live in peace with other Nigerians. They don’t even recognise the constitution of Nigeria, which in Sections 41 and 43 says that Nigerians have the right to live in any part of the country and can own property anywhere they choose to live.”

The lawmaker claimed that there are close to fifty thousand natives of Plateau State in Bauchi. "There are about a thousand of them in the state’s civil service, mostly of Berom and Angas extraction. In Bauchi local government alone there are close to 20,000 Angas."

He said there are about 10,000 displaced people taking shelter in the state with Boto community in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area housing over 3,000 thousand.

"Historically, Plateau State was part of Bauchi emirate with Chiroman Bauchi as the District Head of Jos. Wase, in Jos, was founded by an indigene of Bauchi, Madaki Hassan, about 200 years ago.
"So we wonder why the people of this state now feel they own the place," Tukur stated.
In a related development, the Niger State Police Commissioner, Michael Zuokomour who confirmed that the command received series of text messages alerting it about a planned reprisal attack in Minna, said the same message had been received by several individuals in the state’s capital.

Zuokomour who spoke to pressmen after panic ensued at the Minna Central Market as a result of the text messages, urged people to ignore the "mischief makers."

"The Police Commissioner stated: "The said planned attack is just a rumour and we do not have any facts to substantiate it. However, it has created  panic and we must act fast."
The police commissioner said he has dispatched his men to different parts of the state on round the clock patrol to avoid the outbreak of violence.
