dejiariyo:
another ignoramus post and some demented comments , when did coming out of artiste says another artiste career will be over, now cos we have artiste like souja boy, nas shud just retire, young juc, lil wayne shud retire.

only in nigeria will artiste who is clearing lifting and biting ryhmes will be highly celebrated as a legend, have u listened to track 6 of his illegal album and jay z some people hate? listen to it and come back to reply my post, how can a biter be a lyricist, i am still wondering.

@tosin
if u want modenine and others to retire as u suggested, what do u think we be the future of nigerian hiphop,u want pple like 9ice to continue to win best hiphop album from africa?or do u think artiste making noise about african american album for 2 years can be the future of nigerian hiphop?i dont think so nigeria hiphop scene is too young for yu little brain to be calling for artiste retiring.

i like mi and some other cats but i think we shud be very careful of whatever will wish for them all, i know nigerians are like prostitute they go for who ever is raining same thing they were all saying when naeto c came out,
so am not to suprised, most of yall knowledge of hiphop is to shallow, u just think hiphop is an act which is not, its a culture , rapping is just an element of it.
That is the problem with most nigerians.Always going for the reigning thing.

At least Becommrich is an embarrassment to even the Yorubas on Nairaland. Plus he sounds more coherent than Ikeyman/superman.
When i see people egging on a half-wit simply because he spews tribalistic statements that appeals to them, i feel disgust! The least asha 80 et al could do is to advise this young man to go pick up a copy of Queen Primer.
I could write better than he does when i was in Primary four.
Wetin you want make i do? The guy is a grown man.No be my fault that the guy is dropping tiens  grin.I recommend BRIGHTER GRAMMAR 1,2,3,4.

Cos niggaraw is igbo!
And sum twats think he's d best cos dey are also ibo!

asha u dnt av to undastand lang b4 u know a good rapper and u know dat
I would have totally believed this if i have not had some experiences with people.

By the way tosinadeda the truth is that igbos will be the first to tell u that u igbo is not a lingo to be rapped with because of the tonal nature. Some guys have tried rapping in igbo before and they where actually rubbished by igbo themselves because it just did not sound right to the ear.

However when nigga raw came out dudes where actually shocked at his rhymes because his rhymes connects both with the old and young.I beleive saying he is the 3rd best rapper is over the board but do not underestimate his fan base and popularity.

If you want to see or hear some of his tunes just go to you tube and type nigga raw.

Why Listen to Jimoh Ibrahim and his Wolf cry on Biafran Agenda? http://www.onlinegreentips.com/?tag=economic-base

Any good economist would have chosen to close his eyes to the solution proffered to Nigeria’s economic recession by Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim, an economist, industrialist and lawyer but it would be very suicidal also to all to pay no heed to a comment recently attributed to him in the Saturday Tribune of Saturday, 21st March, 2009 in which he commented thus:

“We must cut the naira now and sack the governor of CBN because Soludo has come to pursue the Biafran agenda. His Biafran agenda is to strengthen the Biafran currency against the naira and he is using the national resources to prosecute this failed agenda” huh

It is unfortunate that a comment like this should come from a well-respected and educated man that parades himself as the chairman and managing Director of several companies that have economic base in the country and particularly sad that Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim has chosen to thread along the path of anti Igbo lane out of many roads in the country who would not let the issue of Biafra rest in peace because they still habour acrimony for the Igbo race who they find inevitable to deal with. Whereas Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim cleanly washed his hands with water like Pontius Pilate absorbing himself and claiming to be a detribalized Nigerian with an Igbo GMD in NICON Hotel, an Igbo as GMD in Global Fleet and his secretary whom he named Olivia as another Igbo, yet he would readily recall that Biafra is still very much in existence with an agenda with Charles Soludo.

Many of the probes set up to deal with issues of unwarranted bloodsheds in this country continue to reveal that superfluous and unprovoked comments such as this very one coming from someone who should be taken as a brother of all irrespective of ethnicity are often responsible for ethnic-bloodsheds. When a man of the substance of Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim with the array of Igbo men and women managing his companies makes a comment to the effect that the governor of a Central Bank of Nigeria is pursuing a secessionist agenda, then we expect that he is sending a red signal to people of other nationalities in the country to consider his comments seriously and badly deal with the governor who in his own view has failed his nation because he is an Igbo man. As matter of fact, we expect that sooner or later, he would show the Igbo managers in his company the door to eternally exit.

The well educated and self-acclaimed best economist in the world in the person of Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim should have put his economic expertise to use to intelligently understand that Prof. Charles Soludo cannot be held responsible for the world economic meltdown recently ravaging the entire countries of the world as caused by the USA. His recommendation that more Naira be printed is nothing but economic absurdity, something that can only be likened to a scene in the movie “the Rise and Fall Idi Amin Dada” a certain Babs Alasa has since in the Vanguard of Friday, 27 march 2009 described this as a “Poisonous Economic Therapy” because developed countries like the USA, Japan, UK, China and others are still battling to find solution to this global economic meltdown and not one of these countries have had the thought to resort to the printing of more currencies as a solution to their economic problem.

Since I am not an economist, it is left for the Federal Government of Nigeria and its financial arm, the Central Bank of Nigeria to come to a decision on whether to print more naira and share to the existing Banks in the country or (and) the entire 144 million people of Nigeria as arithmetically prescribed by Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim but my major concern is that some of those people out there whom we fatherly look up to, to deliver us when there are ethnic clashes always manufactured and in this country by men disappoint us by revealing to us that they see nothing good in the Igbo. Only some few months back, another well-respected Nigerian, made a comment quite similar to that of Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim and was cautioned by the Federal Government, we also remember the erudite journalist, Reuben Abati who also made comments that touched on the personality of Odimegwu Ojukwu and the Igbo in entirety. Not forgetting the series of comments that have been made by Prof Omo Omoruyi on the Igbo.

Such discriminatory statements are increasingly making the Igbo feel unsafe as they do not know who to trust and who not to trust among the teeming populations of Nigerians of other extractions, and we caution that these people should see the Igbo as their brothers and sisters or leave them alone forever.

Why we sacked nurse over hijab –ABUTH boss
By Segun Olatunji, Kaduna
Published: Monday, 13 Apr 2009
The authorities of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna State, said on Sunday that they sacked a nurse, Safiya Ahmed, because she violated the hospital‘s dress code.

According to ABUTH, Ahmed consistently wore a different and unapproved hijab (Muslim dress for women) while on duty.

It said that Ahmed‘s type of hijab sharply contradicted the dressing code prescribed by the nursing profession for members at work.

The hospital said that its decision to terminate the appointment of the nurse over alleged improper mode of dressing followed due process and had nothing to do with her religion as being alleged by some religious groups.

The Chief Medical Director, ABUTH, Prof. Abdul Rafindadi, said in a four-page statement, made available to newsmen in Kaduna, that the hospital recently offered appointment to 180 staff nurses, including Ahmed, who assumed duty on January 2, 2009, after signing an undertaking to abide by the hospital’s rules and regulations.

The nursing profession, Rafindadi said, prescribed dressing code for its members, which he said, included the wearing of “Hijab to the shoulder length” for Muslim nurses and being the rule even before Ahmed’s appointment.

Rafindadi said, “Ahmed, however, decided to wear a different and unapproved hijab. Her attention was drawn to this improper mode of dressing on several occasions by her supervisors, superiors and other Muslim interest groups.

“Indeed, her husband, too, was equally contacted on several occasions on this same issue. But all efforts to make them reason proved abortive.

“The management went extra length to write her a letter advising her to comply in her own interest, which she totally disregarded. She was then issued with a query, which she failed to respond to. In light of the above, it became very clear that Ahmed was no longer interested in her job.”

The ABUTH boss also expressed dismay that Ahmed’s husband, who was contacted a number of times on the issue, allegedly decided to use his membership of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria to incite other Muslim groups into causing religious unrest in the community.

The development, he said, made the Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, to summon a meeting of stakeholders in his palace where the problem was identified, while community leaders contacted the pro-Ahmed group and conveyed the decision of the Emirate, warning them to desist from other acts of incitement and undue interference in the internal affairs of ABUTH

arent the ones who "denied their roots" a minority compared to the ones who openly embrace Igbo culture?

On NL alone, how many Igbos do you see denying their roots?

The Igbo threads are hotpockets of activity, Igbo organizations are alive and well everywhere, majority of Igbo nairalanders have Igbo names- so what exaclty is the reason for the bitterness towards the miniscule tiny number of Igbos who arent as active in Igbo matters as the majority?

Even many non-Igbos are more supportive of Igbo culture than their own.

I really dont get it.
Just curios which groups do these and what igbo culture do they support?
