I think it's high time our players start playing with caution.
for those that play for teams that are chasing something or fighting relegation it is expected that they give 100% however for those that play for teams that their season is practically wrapped up maybe they should exercise caution (Leicester season is practically wrapped up)

There's one word for planting trees and flowers. The one word for it is LANDSCAPING. Igbos are the worst offenders of this. Igbos absolutely don't do landscaping in their building and construction. This is why the south east is the most ravaged erosion geographical area in the entire world.
lack of landscaping is just one of the reasons for erosion not the main reason.. some of these sweeping statements people make can be quite funny

Please house, any update on Ndidi's injury? I have not been myself since i heard about it. He is our main hope to track the bustling runs of Rakitic and Sirgudsson from midfield against Crotia and Iceland. If dat guy is not fit for d worldcup, Nigeria will be a lot weakened. He is not the top tackler in the top 5 leagues for nothing. That guy is as important to Nigeria as Mikel and VicMo. Please lets join hands and pray in church today for quick recovery..
sigurdson going to world cup is still a doubt

it was used in u20 world cup in 2017..i was wishing by now they should have improved on the time delays i saw in that tournament but then again since people are always crying injustice about missed or wrong calls we have to get used to it

Nice one! But i think it's best we keep the champagne on ice until we see appreciable progress on the project. We've seen many false dawns with so many big-ticket projects in the South East that some measure of circumspection is called for at this point.

Anyone with updates on the airport being constructed? A year has now gone in the three years duration given, so we should start seeing something on ground by now!
has this been abandoned?from the story it was at 70% completion when this was printed

GBAM @ bolded above.

You cannot expect to retain wealth if you don't produce what you consume massively.

Apart from massive effort to be self reliant in AGRICULTURE,
I wish entrepreneurs and SE regional government will focus on three key industries

1. Steel rolling plant or revive Niger Steel

2. Cement producing plant or revive NigerCem

3. Solar Panel and Super Heavy duty batteries to hold charge for weeks.

Our forefathers understood very well the key to development and set up those key companies in combination with massive effort in Agriculture. Little wonder the economy of Eastern Region was the fastest growing in the world then. It should be done again.
then the political leaders in the eastern region were largely the most educated and enlightened folks then(in fact then lots of the eastern intelligensia were in govt)..can't compare then to now.

that is why avr will be used in this world cup but the downside will be possibly elimination of 'excitement' and delays

Not all players has won everything okay, you might miss one or 2,nobody should use World Cup to taunt Lionel Messi ,some players are lucky most times.

Ramos said iniesta deserved at least 2 ballon d or ,but he didn't win any so some players are unlucky
my reply is addressed to your statement they dont care which might not be true not the taunting aspect.

I said he didnt win the copa libertadoes thats what they call it,its for all south america club just like the caf champions league and uefa, but i have checked it now okay and i made a mistake he won it twice.

And mind you not only league winners qualify for that cup also the 2 team in the table.

I am not arguing against pele i am saying daniel alves is the most decorated player take it or leave it,i dont know why people dont want to hear that, check daniel alves cabinet then you will believe me,he won more trophies than pele, even messi won trophy than pele, pele can taunt them with his 3 world cup but they dont care
actually they might care if not messi will not have rescinded his earlier decision to retire from national team after that copa loss to chile..we cant say authoritatively here how they feel about these things unless they have uttered so

But that is the age we chose to offload our players after gathering all the experience.

We easily call them tired old legs and be in a haste to push them out so as to bring in new kids and the cycle continues. And We keep trying to build endlessly.

This current team is young and growing in experience but when they have started gathering the experience we want to throw them out and start chasing some new kids all over again.
hehe I do not what to bring up a controversial angle as per Nigerians in this argument

To me alves is better than maicon and to the footballing world.

But coach got players who they prefer, alves was never 29 when maicon is 34,maicon is only older than alves with just 2 years, alves will be 35 in may before the world cup and maicon will be 37 in july so you can see the age difference is just 2 years.

Since after maicon inter millan days he has been poor after he joined mancity, while old alves is still playing at the top at his age,so that will tell you alot.
i think i made a mistake yes alves was was 30 yrs in 2014 but i was trying to prove was that alves was much younger than maicon and in 2014 maicon was pretty much fading while alves was still going strong but because a coach who was defensive minded preferred a maicon that was fading out to alves showed a weakness to alves game..i also think a defensive minded coach like mourinho might not fancy a peak alves...on the same vein an arsene wenger might prefer an alves to a maicon

please i have never said alves was not a world class right back but there was a weakness in a his game that might have actually solidified him for a role he plays. it is a bit like marcelo now for all his world class status the jury is still out there about his defensive abilities. even when mourinho was there he sometimes preferred a fabio coentrao to marcelo in the left back because of the kind of mentality mourinho has ..for eg people acknowledge that ronaldo de lima was a world class striker but he had a weakness in heading the ball..that oliver biehorff was much better in heading the ball than ronaldo de lima does not mean bierhoff was a better striker than ronaldo

Bros Alves is far better than maicon defensively, and in modern football Right back and Left back are always flying up there, and for the fans your saw talking him down is normal, even some fans in Argentina talk messi down
i doubt that because if not dunga(who is very defensive conscious)would used alves not maicon as a starter during 2010 world cup and scolari(another defensive conscious man) would have stuck to alves in 2014 instead of bringing back maicon in the quarter finals and semi finals at a time alves was 29 and no injury and maicon was 34.

Which Brazilian people are looking at his defensive quality, that has been the way Brazilian groom left back and right back, check Cafu, Carlos, Marcelo and Macon.

Wing back support the attack and DM provide protection, Emerson and Gilberto silver was always doing that, and now they have fenadihno,Gustavo and pualihno
i follow a brazillian national team handle @BrazilStat on twitter
that tweets in english so i see their comments when brazillian national team issues are discussed..maicon is actually srong defensively despite being attacking minded like many other brazillian fullbacks before him like carlos alberto, jorginho(this one was also strong defensively),josimar, branco and leanardo

I agree that, generally, very talented young players will take time to peak and begin showing their monster forms in their mid-20s or a bit earlier. But I also still hold the opinion that certain players even at 18 or maybe 21 will still ruffle feathers using their precociousness to trump experience.

There are always exceptions to the rule Dad.... You know that. wink

Some players take time to mature and hit their peak levels between ages 25-30 or so... E.g. Drogba, Salah, Jorginho.... Etc

But some others at age 19, 20, 21 or even 22 will be at an already high level technically showing making giant leaps and making fine statements even before they reach ages 25-33.... E.g. Messi, CR7, Pele, Maradona, Neymar, Kanu... Etc
i dare say most players hit their peak at this age range

But some don't believe that(or pretend not to believe) age counts in football.

Players generally mature and get better with age. Just that they peak at various ages.

I look at some people when they criticise a player and then forgetting his age.

The expectations on some of these young players are too high. They expect them to be pulling up trees already meanwhile they are still at the developmental stages.

You in particular call me the custodian of the Hall of experience or something, you now agree with me that players get better as they age and gain more experience.

It is that young untested player that people here will always see as a better or best player. Going back to the motion that Kalu and Olayinka are better than Simon and Musa and that the later duo should be dropped for the former duo. Where is it done? You want to throw away the experience of Simon and Musa for untested young players? Not even as if Simon and Musa have not been forming in their clubs.
most football players peak between the ages of 25 to 31

Obi May Face Prolonged Injury Layoff, Undergoes More Tests
April 27, 2018 11:16 am

Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Obi, will go for further tests on his anterior hip muscle next week, and will likely face a prolonged layoff as the Serie A side works harder at restoring his full fitness, Completesportsnigeria.com has garthered

Obi who will sit out of Torino’s Serie A home clash against Lazio on Sunday is currently undergoing therapy and could spend more time on the sidelines.

The Nigeria international missed Torino’s 2-1 away defeat to Atalanta last weekend.

Italian website, toro.it reported on Friday that Torino were still monitoring the fitness conditions of Obi and Antonio Barreca, an Italy U-21 defender. Both players were expected to undergo fresh medical tests because their therapy sessions on Thursday confirmed that they were not close to full recovery.

Obi, 26, has made 22 Serie A appearances and has scored five goals and provided two goal assists.

Torino occupy 10th position in the Italian Series A table with 47 points from 34 games. There are four games left to play.
