The only thing holding Aba down is poor road infrastructure otherwise this won't be an argument, Abia state is one of the biggest industrial state if not the biggest. Now a road to link Aba with the emerging industrial cities of Uturu and Ohafia is on the cards, not forgetting Umuahia especially Mission Hill To Osah side that has some private heavy indusries. Then add the government owned ones that will soon start production because of their new owners. So too is the Chinese company willing to build the Obiaku seaport that opens up to the Atlantic Ocean . The only drawback is the settlement of communities that live near the river banks and its approval by FG. Now is the time where an Igbo president would have come in.

On side note Combining all the major cities in Anambra, then Anambra becomes the first, the state is has industries no doubt.

true. their are many companies in aba (like the Chinese owned neyer)-people don't know about especially in the obingwa and osisioma axis . the biggest Steel mill in west Africa is also being constructed near aba. once geometric switches on, many more would come. we don't list hotels,bottled water companies, bakeries or even shopping plazas as achievements .we don't even allude to shell flow stations in the state. people pass through enugu-ph road or aba-owerri to ikot ekpene road and assume the have seen half of aba which is unfair. I don't know about the haphazard planning of the building. The main point is that there are hundreds of one story primary school buildings in all electoral wards.

how Many are being used? If not used you should fined out why? Of what use if they are not being used?

I don't think it has much to do haphazard or unplanned nature but on bad opposition. In some communities PDP agents vandalized the schools removing windows and destroying seats in a bid to discredit Okorocha. If the communities are wise enough they should safeguard the schools as it is their money not the Governor. It is wiser to build schools where they are appreciated and the structures safe from vandals.

abagworo I am not sure who you are trying to deceive here..everything to you is opposition politics by pdp..some of those physically are still ok but like a said haphazardly built and out of sync with the school layout hence not being made use off..so how do you know communities that will not appreciate good works?

No doubt, Okorochas APC madness is a big emberrasment to Imo people. . , that said, in terms of building new blocks and equiping primary schools, no administration since 1999 comes close to Okorochas. . He biult atleast a big block of classroom in almost every primary school on Imo state and those structures are all there although the haphazard organisation has led to a lot of the blocks being erected without good plans and so underutilized. . umualaoma is a remote part of Ideato LGA, the chance of being left out from this project is there. yet it will be grossly unfair to use this school as a yardstick to measure Okorochas reasonable investments in the educational sector in in Imo state.

The OP is correct: most of the stories you hear or read in the media are often exaggerated; the southern dominated media is known for its sensationalism as well as reporting stories from an unbalanced under researched/investigated perspective - often due sheer laziness and biased stereotyping.
Therefore, its not too difficult to understand why most southerners have a warped view of northerners, given the manner in which they are misinformed - sometimes deliberately for political reasons, in order to stoke animosity between the north and south divide or to cause disaffection between the the Christian and Muslim north - so as to break up the northern voting pattern during elections.

FYI, there are many post NYSC southerners who had been absorbed by the organisations of their primary assignment (mostly state governments) and subsequently decided to settle in the north.
Though you may not necessarily have to believe me; however, I have been personally responsible for the employment of a few southerners (over 14 Igbos and 1 Yoruba) into my own state organisation - among them corpers and fresh applicants.
