Ebonyi state must be counting her losses.

This is a great avenue for creation of employment in Enugu state.
nkakagu is being revived and I think this project is actually in ebonyi not Enugu as mistakenly reported

Chiwude:
Zik is a dead weight as long as Igbo political history is concerned. It smacks insults comparing him with the great Ikemba Ojukwu. The Igbo nation mourns the day fate allowed Zik emerge as our pre-independence leader. Okorocha's zikist tendencies would surely put to an end his political career come 2019, If he doesn't retrace his steps. Here was a man once loved by all (Igbo nile) and seen as the true successor to Ikemba Ojukwu suddenly become hated, despised and seen as a villain. How it happened within a shortwhile seems to me a surprise. If I was told last 5 years by a sorcerer, how low Rochas popularity would fare, I wouldn't have believed it. The Igbo nation at this trying times are in the look out for people in the clout of Ojukwu. Wike is now likened as Ojukwu because of his ruggedity to the bone and readiness to move with his people all through. You don't go 'left' when they go 'right' and you don't say 'no' when they say 'yes'. Nnamdi Kanu is making wave today because he understands the innate thoughts of majority Ndigbo.
Joining APC is not a crime, but getting outsmarted by other big boys in game and always losing your voice when it concerns your people out of fear of upstaging the establishment is foolishness of the highest order. Rochas seems like a lost needle in the midst of grains.
Rochas should learn from Zik's blunders and return home when there is still time. Events in Nigeria has proven times without number that you cannot lead your people when majority of them is against you. Zik once rosed to greater height because he was embraced by his people, but the moment Zik left his people he became history.
Party or no party, Rochas should abdicate being a Zikist and return to being an Ojukwu. Zikism is hypocrisy, blindness, political shallowness and Zikists usually ends in political widerness. The Igbo nation under one Nigeria doesn't need a Zikist, the Igbo nation demands an Ojukwu.
never put wike( ikwerre man) and ojukwu in the same sentence..moreover if you experienced what Igbos living in obi akpo lga did when wike was their chairman you will retract what you just typed about him

That must be the reason Buhari is doing this. They want to frustrate him as they did using Ebonyi state governor.

We are taking note of how Dangote exploited Nigerians with the help of Northern Oligarchy and Government.

There will be judgement day. All is fair on judgement day.

This is the official document from the budget office. The first one was incomplete anyway.
so I guess the road projects I earlier mentioned were some sort of after thought though monies are now released for them since they(eg this Enugu Onitsha rd) is not on the official document of the budget office

Oh yea.. missed that

The Enugu- Portharcourt was omitted on the first list. Looks like that is the one getting a facelift.
same with Abuja lokoja which is missing is this 350bn package but is listed in the link you said is the budget

so under roadds&bridges you don't see 5.5bn for rehabilitation of Enugu Onitsha highway on the second to last point?

so if they are not there why those infographs and 'noise' about govt realising 350bn for initial injection into capital projects in which the projects I listed were there? Have you now seen the reason some people say the govt is confused?

This is probably the budget proposal before being sent to the legislature as I have seen this before..there is not Enugu Onitsha rd pr Oyo ogbomoshp rd that has appeared in the recent budget passed by the legislature..this is not comprehensive

Quit stu.pidity!! I said redesigning and reprocurement, stop reading like an id***. Rather than being lethargic, Jonathan was methodical in approaching that road! Show me facts that points to the contrary.
do you know what is 5 yrs? Methodical indeed...hope you know that rd is part of an important trans west African highway that links from Ghana to cameroun?
PoliticsRe: FG Releases N350b For Capital Projects: See The Breakdown by asha80(m): 9:56am On May 15, 2016

Most likely, this report doesn't include all the roads. Just like EN/PH express is not here and I can remember Ekweremadu crying that the road(initially allocated 7-8 billion) and others in other regions were underfunded while the Lag to Ib was allocated 55 billion. So, that road can't be removed entirely! Not possible!!
I think they should just upload the full breakdown of the projects captured in tho project to avoid unnecessary speculation because I too remember that was it on Monday or Tuesday I read in the print where ekweremadu was qouted as saying those reps from se( to be honest they dont inspire that much) would monitor the se rd projects captured and he named Enugu ph rd,Enugu Onitsha rd( I initially doubted this one because I was not seeing it captured in the earlier budget bandied around) and aba ikot ekpene.

First of all, i do not think this is a complete list... Perhaps, we can get more information when all the budget becomes publicly available.
I think they should do that to stop all these unnecessary speculations because I know Osinbajo earlier mentioned 31 road and bridge projects were captured in this budget but only seeing 14 being bandied around since the official signing by the president
PoliticsRe: FG Releases N350b For Capital Projects: See The Breakdown by asha80(m): 9:41am On May 15, 2016
chudionu58:
Please for clarity, Hasan Lawal. the then Minister of works awarded the Onitcha to Enugu expressway to Two contractors without conducting adequate soil tests on that road, the road later failed which made Jonathan to restart a fresh re design and procurement in 2011, in July 2014 a certificate of no objection was obtained from the BPP and by December same year it got the FEC approval...and was flagged off in March 2015 by Arc.Mike
http://nannewsnigeria.com/node/38999

So, Jonathan must be commended and not condemned as per the Enugu to Amansea express!!!! Or if not we'll wait and see if there would be another contractor and/ or another contract for the project! Be guided.
yep a 3 yr gap to redesign the road..gej was be commended indeed..only if you know the damage going on on the old road because of the lethargic approach of gej

enugu/onitsha road was awarded but where contractors ever mobilized on site? I should you a project that was awarded with contractors fully mobilized on site. All Buhari needs to do is to maintain Nigeria Govt's part of the deal which is now becoming a big deal to people like you
since Enugu Onitsha was awarded before gej don't you think gej should have at least maintained govt part of the deal during his 5 yrs in power and have the rd reconstructed to save the old rd that feeling the pressure of all those heavy duty vehicles passing through it now?

There is a 350 billion economic intervention fund in the budget. This is apart from the 200 billion set aside
dondo83:
350b billion was released out of 6trillion naira budget. Will it be wise to spend it all on road construction?
Dont get me wrong but the way these govt releases information can be confusing at times..i think they should come out and release the full breakdown of budget and allocated projects rather than all these highlights they are so as not to give room fir unnecessary speculations....if the 350bn released is for quick intervention in capital projects( not necessarily rd projects) then fine but listing budgeted rd projects like the op did with his caption and opening statement and listing only 14 road projects instead of 31 as Osinbajo earlier stated and having 144bn as the allocated money for it instead of the 200bn earlier stated( even buhari mentioned it when he was signing it) gives room for unending speculations

12. Kano-Katsina (N2.6 b)
13. Sapele-Agbor Ewu (N2 b)
14. Apapa-Oshodi-Ow oroshok N5b

I hope this money will be used appropriately
I thought funds set aside for rd construction in this yrs budget is 200bn..so if 144bn is what is listed here what happens to the remaining 56bn? By the way how come Abuja lokoja highway and Enugu ph highway which were in the budget all these while are now missing?
PoliticsRe: FG Releases N350b For Capital Projects: See The Breakdown by asha80(m): 11:31pm On May 14, 2016
People have been showing these rds as yge roads captured in the budget

Is it that abuja lokoja highway and Enugu ph highway were removed?

From the allocations giving to these listed rds it added up to 134bn...so what happens to the remaining 66bn since it was said 200bn is being set aside for rd construction?

Meringe:
I see so many funny comments here. For record purposes, this demolition is a scam. They private individuals cum politicians want to forcefully take over people's shops through govt backing.

You allocated shops to people and you turn back to revocate it.

You sold your land to investors and later years, you want to forcefully take possession of the the land because your kinsman is in power.

Ariaria intl market is almostly owned by non indigenes and since the governor took over, his kinsmen have been plotting to forcefully take over shops in Aba because of envy and greed.

The plan is that a shop owner pays #2,000,000 to the developer and the will use the fund to build a two Storey lockup shops, they original owner is only entitled to one shop out of the three shops which his money was used to build.

Who's deceiving who?

If you want to demolish shops, go for the ones that were built on drainage and workway.
so in essence it now boils down to ng-a vs o-uh-?
