I'm not pissed. That's their job description.

The job of the ICPC is not to go after thieves. That's the purview of the Nigerian Police. The ICPC was not created to duplicate the functions of the Police, they were created to check abuse by political office holders.

A foreigner entering the country illegally is wrong, but you wouldn't ask Customs to go after the illegal; that's the purview of Immigration.

All of you illiterates that don't understand the Use of English or legal terms should do well to stick to what you know and not crowd public discourse with unintelligent opinions that are SH*T!

The law is there. The constitution is there. Yet you left all that and started talking out of your a$$! If you are so right, why is it hard for you to quote from the constitution that stealing and corruption are the same.

See your stup*dity!

GEJ opined that stealing is wrong. He opined that corruption is wrong. But just because he rightfully said that the two are not the same, you want to crucify him. So as the #1 public defender of the constitution, he does not have the right to set the record straight on what both mean?

-Lord
Ur face saving, try sha. U've still gat hope. So, cos d constitution has created different law enforcement arms, to fight different crimes, it doesn't recognise that stealing is corruptionhuh! Owo wo gbo! Ur parents have wasted funds!

Sh*theads like u, attach so much importance to certificates n abandon commonsense. As if those that made d official rules, where birthed with them. Why have there been constitutional reviews, if everything was perfect in d 1st instance?

So, according to u, Gej, Nta n ur supporting egg heads, a thief is not corrupt n a corrupt individual, can't be termed a thief!? Too much sense, will not kee all of ugrin

Well my country's constitution, terms everything a crime, and unfortunately, d stupid senators n legal luminaries u're quoting, duplicated law enforcement agencies, to fight d same crime!

Of all law enforcement agencies we have, only ur Nta of icpc came out in support of ur lettered buffoon?! When, even Nta's own agency(icpc), pursues thieves up n down, when dey can be bothered. Going by ur assertations, when immigration sees contraband, they'll look away n allow d victim to go n be caught by customsgringringrin

Seems u're d brainiac in ur lineage ba? Kudos to ur family.

I did not claim.

It is what he said.

Or are you saying you know more about the ICPC than the person heading the organization? He quoted facts, can you quote facts from the constitution that he is wrong.

You are completely M*D.

You're not a lawyer, not a Senator, don't have any legal knowledge, yet you are debating against the head of an anti-corruption agency about what corruption is. That is STUPID*TY. You can not be more stup*d than that.

So, why was ur brilliant self, pissed, when I said, icpc had no biz going after petty thieveshuh Shebi na their legal luminary of a chairman, na him talk so?!

Because both terms in our penal code refer to different offenses and are investigated by different law enforcement agencies.

You are not a legal luminary, a lawyer, nor do you have the slightest idea of what you're trying to debate.

Here's an abridged expose where the ICPC boss clarifies the "stealing is not corruption" statement.

Note the difference?

Stealing is wrong. Corruption is wrong. They are both punishable. But they are not the same in legal speak.

It is not my fault that you are daft mor*n trying to be a faux intelligentsia. I soak in more information in a week than you do in a year, and I'm a realist at heart, while you're a snowflake.

The statement is correct. And it is important for the President and ICPC Chairman to make the distinction.

When a person steals stuff in the market, do you send the police after him or the EFCC?

GEJ and the ICPC chairman did not say stealing is not wrong and not punishable. They simply said it is not the same thing as corruption. And in Nigeria's penal code, they are not the same.

If the President and ICPC chairman do not make that distinction, who would or should?

And by the way, Africa is a sh*thole! Trump is defusing the tension because he used the word "sh*thole" which is a derogatory word. Presidents shouldn't typically use derogatory words. Cameron called Nigeria, Afghanistan and several other countries "fantastically corrupt" countries and there were no fireworks. Why do you think that is?

Do you have an idea of what you're talking about?

See why I call you st*pid.

And an hypocrite. You know the current political system is the issue and that even if you bring Obama here, there'd still be corruption under him. Yet, you find it convenient to blame Mr A, while you turn around to vote another equally corrupt individual to replace Mr A. Then when the new corrupt individual proves to be an even worse disaster, you turn around to blame Mr A.

You are like an animal looking at a mirror and can't understand why you can see yourself. You're that daft.

And you think you're intelligent. Troglodyte you've got nothing on me.

And what baffles me about Nigerians like you is that you are corrupt hypocrites.

The current Nigerian political system breeds and supports corruption. That is the reality. That is the hard truth you have to live with. You can keep lying to yourself that a strong man would make it magically fret away on one sunny day but it wouldn't. We are stuck with it for now.

We have to deal with it, one step at a time using processes and building strong institutions, making substantial progress as we trot along.

Stealing is not corruption and the ICPC chief reiterated it. If you are so daft and uneducated that you can't tell the difference, you are welcome to use a dictionary. I don't have the time to cure your ignorance.

Every Nigerian politician is corrupt and have cronies who are corrupt, are you saying we should not elect any of them because of that? Where do they make unreasonable mor*ns like you. Kids that never grow up! Still believing in fairy tales and stupidity.

Seems like you have a strong aversion to facts. What exactly did Fayose do to tackle the issue? He 'banned' the herdsmen last year and asked Ekiti hunters with their antiquated dane guns to protects the land. Despite his so-called ban, he had to intervene this year by calling for a truce when some Tivs resident in Ekiti killed a Fulani herdsman, which goes to show that Fulani herdsmen are still operating in Ekiti.
Common sense should compel you to know that some states in the middle belt are at the epicenter of the crises, where the fulani militias have concentrated their efforts. Could Ekiti hunters with their bow and arrows contend with the militarily armed fulani militias that are more or less being backed by the FG, as we've seen in the middle-belt? Besides, as stated earlier, the FG has declared that the security apparatus set up these states to protect their people are illegal, and have responded aggressively when these people have retaliated against the fulani, even going to the extent of dropping bombs on some of these folks! In essence, rather than challenging the insanity that resides in Aso rock, you're asking the helpless state governors to declare war against the federal might.
Compared to d reprisal attacks, going on in Benue n taraba, we're yet to hear of such, from states that have stood up to protect themselves. Crime levels in states were rising, until state govts became proactive(IMO, rivers, kogi, Lagos, Kaduna).

The FG has tried as much as possible, to remove itself from d narrative. Going as far as not making opposing statements or taking opposing stances, when states were/are banning open grazing.

But, extra-judicial killings, is totally out of it! As a, supposedly, critical thinker, what exactly is going on BTW d herdsmen n farmers in Benue n taraba, that is not being replicated in other middle belt regions?

We've been hearing inklings of unrest in Ogun too, recently. Let's see n contrast reactions of each govt, to a potential crisis.

I see d herdsmen crisis, as something of d kidnappers, avengers, baddo-ists. Not a FG sponsored attack on potential voting blocks! Osinbajo refuted Ortom's claims(absolutely, called him a liar), we're yet to hear/read is rejoineder!

The state governors do not have command over the police and armed forces. This is not a matter of funding. The best they can do is to arm their own militias, which I believe Benue and Taraba did, only for the FG to strongly oppose their efforts. In fact, the last time the people of Taraba took the fight to the fulani aggressors, the Nigerian military swiftly unleashed hell on them in response. I don't see how anyone can pivot away from the obvious complicity of the FG to put blame on the governors.

Nepotism Smelling All Over Nigeria
===========================
"Words of Dr. Junaid Mohammed a northern ethno-religious irredentist.
“Let me say straight away that whether one calls it a cabal or a mafia or power within the presidency under Buhari, whatever you say it is; it is, and a lot worse. First, the most influential person in the presidency today is one Mamman Daura whom as you know, is a nephew of the president. His father was Buhari’s elder brother. In addition, Mamman Daura was the one who single-handedly brought up Abba Kyari, the current chief of staff to the president. In fact, Abba Kyari knows Mamman Daura more than he knows his own father.
“Next, the personal assistant to Buhari himself is the son of Mamman Daura, next is the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP), and is also a son-in-law to Mamman Daura because he is married to Mamman Daura’s daughter. Next, the minister they unilaterally chose, against the interest of the party and against the wishes of Sokoto people, happens to be the daughter of the younger sister of Mamman Daura’s wife. Both of them are daughters of Sultan Dasuki, who was sacked by General Abacha. We have the aide-de-camp to Buhari himself, Colonel Abubakar. He is married to the granddaughter of one of Buhari’s elder sisters. Next we have the woman who represents Kaduna in the Federal Executive Council, she is a cousin to Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai. It is a well known that el-Rufai is one of the closest governors to Muhammadu Buhari.
“Next, we have the Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The Minister of the FCT is the man called Musa Bello, who used to be the Managing Director of the Northern Nigeria Development Corporation, which used to be the biggest holding company that belonged to all the northern states. His only qualification to be the FCT minister is the fact that his father has been Buhari’s friend over the years. Now, there is a young man called Sabiu Yusuf, nicknamed Tunde – probably because of the late General Tunde Idiagbon. He is another PA to President Buhari. He is also a grandson of another sister of Buhari.
“This is enough to prove to you that this is shamelessly the worst form of nepotism in the history of government in Nigeria. In fact, in the history of Africa, let me make bold to assert that I have never seen any level of nepotism that has equalled or surpassed this in my entire life – I am now in my 67th year. Another thing I also want you to know is that Amina Zakari, who was and is still a national commissioner in the Independent National Electoral Commission representing the entire seven states in the North-west; it is being claimed that Buhari knows nothing about her appointment (before he became the president), it is a lie.
“When President Goodluck Jonathan was reorganising INEC and he was bringing in Prof. Attahiru Jega, he reached out to Buhari and asked him to nominate somebody from the North-west so that, that person would be a national commissioner. Of all the people in the North-west, Buhari decided to nominate his own niece, the daughter of his elder sister – Amina Zakari. She has been there; when Jega left, Buhari was determined to make her the chairman, it was because of the massive backlash that he dropped the idea like hot potatoes. As we are talking today, that woman is a national commissioner which means she is one of the principal members of the election umpire.
“Throughout my reading of history, political science and social sciences generally, I have never heard of any dictator or any tyrant under any system of government whether totalitarian or fascist, appointing his own niece to conduct elections in which he was either a party or going to be a party to; Buhari has done that. The immediate younger brother to Amina Zakari is currently the Minister for Water Resources representing Jigawa State in the same Buhari government. In addition, even though they are from Kazaure, Kazaure is contiguous to Daura. The eldest sister of both of them is now the Commissioner for Education in the All Progressives Congress government in Jigawa State. If this is not nepotism, then I don’t know what nepotism is. For somebody who had the guts and the brutal arrogance to appoint these relations, not bothered about public opinion, about the sense of justice, and about competence, then you can see that he has a very serious question to answer.”

God is watching
Same way, he watched ghadaffi n Assad n Castro n ..........
