TravelRe: Please I Need Your Advice On My US Visit by Asihanmi: 6:58pm On Apr 16, 2019
Hello House. I need your urgent and candid advise house. My mum plans (over 70 years) to visit the US along side my sister and one of her children who currently has US visas. My sister is my mum's sponsor and she has been to the US with her family before on the account of her husband's master graduation after which their visas were renewed. The question is how can US Visa application be put up for an elderly /senior when her sponsor is her daughter? Is it realistic to do B1/B2 visa alongside with her daughter who has an existing b1/b2 visa?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by Asihanmi: 8:39am On Sep 26, 2018
Hello House, Please I need your advice for these two cases:
First, a 70 year old aunt plans to visit the US next year with her daughter- in- law for vacation.
They do not have an Invite letter from the US however the daughter in law is a lawyer that earns much but has no travel history while the old woman is house wife that earns huge house rent (She is financially buoyant so to say) and had her polytechnic schooling in the UK in the 1960s. She was in UK last in 2006 on vacation since then no other travel history. Now my enquiries are these: Looking at the trend of rejection in US B1 / B2 visas, 1. Can they go ahead to apply with this current profile or simply have to travel to Dubai or Ghana? 2. Can the old woman apply alone as her own sponsor? 3. Does it make any sense to include one of the daughter in law’s kids in their application?
Second case, another aunt in her early 60s plans to visit the US next year on an invitation but has no travel history but she is a retired nurse and earns house rent. 1. Does she need to travel to Dubai, Ghana etc to build her travel history? 2. Can she apply on her own as her sponsor without an invite? (Does this increase / reduce her chances of being granted a visa).
Your anticipated feedback will be appreciated.

Hello house. Is it possible to delete an expired express entry application? I have navigated CIC website endlessly on how to get this doneand I'm unable to.
My 2 concerns are these:

1. I was not eligible for the EE Profile created in February 2017 thereafter I had not logged into the profile sef since then until recently. It occurred to me that the 2study permit applications I was rejected might have been due to my EE profile because there is this common language" ain't a genuine student and will not leave Canada at end of study"...Meanwhile my applications had been paper applications. I still have a valid TRV gotten in 2017.

2. My spouse rcently submitted the visitor's visa application (we have plans on going for summer holidays) and I'm worried that the EE profile may affect the application although I was the major applicant for the EE profile created. Is there anything I can still change or do?

I will appreciate your feedback and advise.

@ Shynzee, reall. So Canada is for the strong hearted? lol. Most applications are visitor's visa. so what's the rationale?
Survival in Canada is not beans ooo

The queue at VFS is not for the fainthearted. Nigerians are all headed to Canada.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Asihanmi: 1:16pm On May 22, 2018
Hello House, i want to make inquiries concerning Express entry profile creation.
1. Is it possible to delete it and how?
I have checked cic website and i can not see "the orange button being referred to" to delete / withdraw application rather i can just see only a blue button "check status and messages".
2. I created the express entry profile since February 2017 just to see if i can be on the pool obviously the profile is outdated, can this block my chances for other applications like study permit/ tourist visa?

3. Also i recently just checked through the EE profile to see a letter had been sent to me that i was not eligible and that i needed to register on job bank and that if i do no register , i will not be eligible for PR in the future. How true is this? Truth is i have not been checking my profile.
4. I hope all the EE profile thingy will not block the chances of my spouse's visitor's application moreso that i have a visitor's visa before EE profile creation.
I appreciate and look forward to your responses.

Hello guys, what's going on in Naija? My spouse wanted to submit Canada visitor's visa and was told to book for appointment for the date of submission!!! Due to the high influx in recent times. This started this month. I foresee Canada's style becoming like that of US. I think they need to incorporate this on their Cic website. They had better devise a way to determine appllicant's fate on the spot like that of US. This " go and come back approach doesnt change anything" in the name of being conservative. Well, it's country though.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Asihanmi: 8:28am On May 12, 2018
Hello House. I need your assistance. My spouse was busy with studies when my child and I visited US and Canada for Vacation in 2016. Although,my spouse now has valid US visa but hasn't travelled with it, been to UAE and Ghana. We plan to go to Canada on vacation this year in end of July. I earn more so will include my financial statement with that of my spouse.
Meanwhile my spouse's passport will expire March 2019.
When I checked visitor's processing time it was 31days so I believe there is still time for my spouse to apply for visitor's this may.

My questions are:
1. Is it necessary unconfirmed air ticket is included in my spouse's application?
2. Will travel insurance for their whole family be required?
3.What will be compelling to put up as a motivation in the statement of purpose if required.
I welcome everyone's input as the application will be submitted next week.

Hello House. I need your advise. Just scheduled appointment for US interview but realised that only the surname and first name were input meanwhile I had input surname, first name and middle names of DS 160 form as requested on the form. Now on the appointment schedule page only first name and surname is asked so until appointment was booked b4 I realised. Does it mean I will buy another B1 /B2 form?
Meanwhile accompanying children's details were well captured. What can I do? I will appreciate your urgent feedback

@ Bogus thanks.

I have two pals that were rejected US visas. The first a lady, she used an agent that match made her with a guy as if though they were couples meanwhile she is single. Does she still have hope to reapply with her genuine information? How can she address her previous application?

2nd person, a guy also used an agent ,single but agent filled married for him and wrote that he will visit niagara Falls that is in Canada (this one tire me). Any hope to reapply for US visa for him? How can he address it?

I was filling the form i realized a made a mistake under relationship between the first and second child so (clicked child felt i should click other relative). Can i go ahead to create another profile then at the point of scheduling an appointment i make use of the correct profile?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asihanmi: 4:38pm On Apr 24, 2018
@ goingforward, thanks for your contribution.
I applied via paper route for my study permit.
I travelled from. US to Canada in January 2017 spent two days then back to UW before coming to Nigeria.
I travelled with my child and nephew ,my spouse didn't travel was back home busy with studies.

Thereafter I applied for study permit in May 2017 got refusal letter in July reapplied February 2018 got refusal letter in March 2018. All application have been via paper route.

Well you have a point, I recall in February 2017 as a sort of test run I registered my express entry profile online but didn't meet anywhere near cut off point never felt it would matter. More so that my study permit was via paper route.

I still appreciate input from experts in the house.
Anyone with similar experience that later got study permit after first attempt.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asihanmi: 11:15am On Apr 24, 2018
2nd study permit refusal though I have requested for GCMS note.
Just trying to analyse the 2 reasons on the rejection letter: family ties in Canada and home country and purpose of visit!
Never stated I had family member(s) in Canada in any of my documents ,know I've got distant cousins and we are not close .

I do not think I will apply a third time(in my own thoughts it's not worth it may mean desperation to them).

I have been struggling with express entry process stucked with IELTS. Don't want to go through the asylum route that is being recommended to me despite having canada visitor's visa because of WORK PRESSURE (Naija banking craziness...). I believe asylum may not be the best route for a family person.
Honestly, don't know what to do at this juncture.

Suggestions are welcome from the family.

How's Australia and Netherlands PR process like?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asihanmi: 9:01pm On Mar 23, 2018
Thanks for being responsive.

Please if I may ask what does it mean under live update online that "Final decision has been made,we regret to... but on checking the help button it states until final decision is made... As if there is room for further update.
Also, under eligibility requirements ,it states that you did not...but under help button it states until an eligibility test is done.

So far does it simply mean that application is declined?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asihanmi: 4:12am On Mar 23, 2018
She did her medicals 16th Feb and did a paper application for her study permit. How does she know the outcome of her medicals?

When did she submit the upfront medicals? Has she registered online and what does her status say about her medicals? Has she passed? Need a screenshot.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asihanmi: 9:10pm On Mar 22, 2018
Thanks for the feedback.

As earlier stated, she had submitted her study permit application normally with upfront medical. Her sop simply addressed her study permit. Don't know if result of medicals is communicated to applicant's for her to know that she passed.

1 She will not be denied visa simply because of pregnancy. Has the test result indicated she passed? To be denied visa based on medical grounds, one's health condition has to be one that will present an excessive demand on the Canadian healthcare system. To prevent this denial, she has to show that she has extra money to take care of her pregnancy, prenatal/antenatal and postnatal hospital care. She has to show that she can adequately carry academic work with pregnancy. She has to show that she would be a genuine student and not only using Canada for anchor baby purposes. Only a super SOP can help here. It's big hurdle to cross if pregnancy is detected.

2. Yes it is possible depending on the country. Check on the US embassy website of the country in question.

3. There is an application fee for each visa application and you pay it at the embassy of the host country of application, not in Nigeria. Best wishes!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asihanmi: 5:37pm On Mar 22, 2018
Hello house. My sister -in- law applied for Canadian study permit last week in February alongside her upfront medicals though she has not gotten a feedback yet.
However, early this month she discovered that she was pregnant and she never knew before her upfront medicals although she did a PT stripe test herself and she tested negative. (Really dont know the medical / biological science behind pregnancy test done after 2-3 weeks). She is worried that she might be denied study permit as a result of her pregnancy.
Meanwhile she has a US visa that will be due for renewal in August (She has been to US before). My questions are these:
1. Can she be denied study permit because of pregnancy?
2. Is it possible to apply for US visa via drop box from outside once home country?
3. If 2. is yes will she have to buy the US visa form from the country she will be or can she purchase b1/ b2 form from Nigeria and then apply for drop box from outside Nigeria.

Guys please help put.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asihanmi: 9:29am On Feb 03, 2018
Hello house,

What is your opinion about spousal work permit? For instance, if granted study permit and one's spouse submits application within a month for Canadian spousal work permit before the principal applicant travels to Canada, what are the chances of being granted work permit?

Better still, will it be safe for my spouse to do Canadian Visitor's visa application then apply for open work permit when in Canada?

The idea is for us to travel at once as a family without visa denial from any side.

Your contributions will go along way in guiding our decisions.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asihanmi: 10:41am On Dec 17, 2017
Thank you BRANDYAK for the prompt response and feedback.

My first worry is that the last application I did my elder sister was my Co sponsor. (My spouse 's personal account doesn't have huge funds in it however we both run a joint account that has funds up to N4.4M. I plan to make part tuition payment of $CAD 10,000 (Can't afford afford to pay more than that for now because the St Mary's international students office recommended that pay into $CAD 20,000 or all of first year tuition fee!!!) whenever I'm reapplying based on my initial refusal.

My second challenge is if my elder sister and spouse can be my Co sponsor alongside my self or better still my elder sister transfers more funds into my account. (hope this won't be a red flag by the VO since I plan to reapply by last week of January 2018 so that my spouse and I will be responsible only for the funding.
Meanwhile I have registered CAC documents(it is enterprises) though haven't opened a bank account with it yet.
Lastly my concern as regards "no correlation between my course of study for first degree , job role and intended program is worrisome" My first degree is computer science and I have been a sales person in the banking sector for 5 years (part of what I do is to drive electronic channels which is IT related.) I choose MTEI master of Technology and Entrepreneurial innovation be sure it has both technology and finance. This is felt will bring the gap between my job role, future plans andy first degree course. I bet insight on how to convince the VO in this regards when reapplying.

Phew sorry for the long epistle just need assistance for application that will be ready for submission in about a month's time. I anticipate your contributions.

Let me try
Yes anybody can sponsor you provided he has the mimimum one year turtion and 10000cads puting in to consideration his or her dependence. Your spouse is a very reliable sponsor, also puting in to consideration how he will race funds for future yeas. Make sure you sponsorship letter expresses the strong bond between you and also talk about your furture plansas a couple.

My dear, home ties can range from finantial investment, family to professional ties depending on you, think of any you may have. If you decide to take the professional route then i advise you show a lot of passion in solving problems you have identified in home country, that your return will be inevitable bc of the passion you have Shown.
If it family it must be close relation, show how you cant do without them or they cant do without you for a verry long time, like aging or sick parents show proof or just the bond. If its your wife and children , you may talk about your little girl how you are fun of her, how she makes you laugh how you miss them. Tell the vo how really want participate in your childrens up bringing, u dnt want be a distant husband or parent. If handle this eightly no vo will refuse u visa.

About your travel history, did you bring the vo's attension to the fact that you had travelled to canada and maybe other developed coutries and return before? just presenting trv is not enough as some vo may seeyou as someone who has visited canada and seen it beauty and is now using the study route to abscon. You have to tell them
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asihanmi: 8:05pm On Dec 13, 2017
I reapplied to St Mary's university for MTEI program (Master of Technology and entrepreneurship innovation) since they don't defer graduate admission. I was offered admission 1st December for a start program September 2018. I plan to apply for study permit by last week in January 2018.
Now my clarifications are s follows:
1. Is it advisable that I use my spouse as my sponsor? (we have a joint account that has funds in it even though my spouse's personal /salary account does have substantial turnover. Also, recall that when I last applied for study permit that is was denied I used my elder sister as my Co sponsor.
2. I need your suggestions on what can address home ties. (GCMS states that I don't have home ties meanwhile I have Canadian trv that is had used early this year.
3. Standard sample SOP to address this creation raised on my denial.
Further suggestions are welcome.

Dear Sir/Ma,
I can vividly remember your case but not too sure about your profile anymore.
Your case is different and very easy to tackle, more so that you have gotten your report.
Kindly share your profile and let's work on it together.
As I read your comment, I must confess am not too happy with what am reading on this VOs report not to even talk of someone that got delayed after 27weeks.
Kindly share your profile and juxtapose it with this report and let's see to it if you believe the Canadian journey really worth it.

Those granted never had two heads but I believe the right thing and putting God first really matter.
So try to give it another trial and never discourage if truly you know that the journey to Canada really worth it.
EJIZY:
Hi...your profile is similar to mine and I was also rejected last month also for just Purpose of visit after 12 weeks...I didn’t really get what they meant though Cus that was the only place ticked. I will advise you try the EE because Based on your information you seem really qualified. I already got my ITA and submitted my application. This study permit just seems getting difficult by the day, I don’t know how else this people want to be convinced, it’s really frustrating.

Did you pay part of your tuition and what percentage did you make if you did?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asihanmi: 5:34pm On Oct 13, 2017
Hi Ejizy, thanks. Congratulations on your ITA, you will get PR by God's grace. IELTS is doing my spouse and I STRONG thing Jare. Im getting tired on having to rewrite IELTS. Education background has been evaluated by WES already since 2015 (Not sure of the validity for education evaluation now)

I need to be clear if it is compulsory one's spouse need to write IELTS.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asihanmi: 4:10pm On Oct 13, 2017
Thanks for your feedback all especially guzenaira jnyuwa02 and awuf. I do appreciate.

My job role is personal banking which is not limited to promoting and enrolling customers on E-Channels etc. The course I intend to study MTEI- Master of Technology and Entrepreneurship Innovation has combination of science, business and finance. Unfortunately in Nigeria what you study most times you don't get a job role that matches it. However, I have been in this job role for about 5 years.

What I submitted when my study permit was rejected were:
1. My international paspsort
2. Copy of data page of intl passport of my elder sister, child, spouse and child (included my spouse and child for them see that whenever we travelled we come back)
3. My bank statements which is about CAD 20,000 and my sister's which is about CAD 60,000
4. Duly filled CIC forms
5. Original admission letter
6. Statement of purpose
7. Police certificate
8.Evidence of initial seat reserve deposit which was part tuition worth CAD 500 (Maybe this was the major reason they see it that I cant afford the tuition fee, maybe I should have paid like $10,000 or more)
8. My shares certificate
9.Affividavit of sponsorship from the court and letter of sponsorship by my elder sister.
These are all I can recall. I need to reapply to the school as they don't defer admission (St Mary's University)
However, in trying to be ready for packaging another application. When offered admission I'm thinking of paying like CAD 10,000 (Although the international student office of the school advised I pay CAD 20,000). I won't use my elder sister as my sponsor. I'd simply use my spouse's account and get the bank statement built up (My little thought so that my elder sister is not seen as a 3rd party).
I will get my spouse to give a letter of support / consent for my study. (may be this will take care of economic /social ties)
Also, I'd upload my SOP for your review. What do you guys think? A little digression, must one's spouse write IELTS for express entry?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asihanmi: 10:21am On Oct 13, 2017
Hi guys, Just got my GCMS notes. Full reasons are as follows: Limited economic and social ties to my home country, Study plan not consistent with past studies, sponsored by 3rd party, relationship with 3rd party & history of financial support not well substantiated. Therefore no sufficient funds for tuition and upkeep during first year of studies in Canada and not a genuine student that will leave by end of Study.

Pheeww!!!

In my little opinion, I see some mistakes from their end eg. Recall I mentioned that I went on vacation to Canada early in the year for vacation so still have my multiple TR visa. So don't where the limited social and economic ties is coming from. Also, about inconsistent study plans what I applied for Masters of Technology and Entrepreneurship Innovation while my first degree was computer science and I work in a financial institution with 5 years experience! So I really can't relate with their take on this.

Furthermore, I stated in my SOP that my elder sister would CO SPONSOR not sole sponsor because I presented my bank account statement and shares documents. My tuition fee is roughly CAD 23,000 while I was being modest and stated CAD 37,000 at hand. (Although all funds in the bank account statements are far more than CAD 37,000 (Perhaps ithia was where I goffed). I provided a court Affividavit to address the relationship between my elder sister and I. May I mentioned that when I traveled I went with my elder sister's son and applied for our visiting visa then together. Infact in my family information page when I applied for TRV and study permit i had always stated my elder sister's details which is a proof and I maintained the consistency. Well as per no sufficient fund for tuition, I paid a token advised by the department that I applied to. Was I supposed to pay all the tuition fee. Guys and gurus in the house please assist me.

I want to believe is same as using GCMS which about $23 while through cic directly is just $5.

In my SOP, I addressed the fact that I have travel experiences with my family and family business that will make me come back. More so, my intent was that after I'm granted study permit the n my husband can apply for his work permit so didn't mention at all that my husband would later travel. As for my child, there is also 5 years visiting visa so I don't plan to include that in the application not yet of school age. Just 2years+

Please note that I had travelled to Canada early this year for vacation with my child (Got 5 years TV validity).

SO I'm wondering where I got it wrong. Went online saw different links for GCMS note. what is the right url / link to follow. Also what is the step by step process? How much is it to order for GCMS note?

Gurus please your feedback anticipated and would be appreciated.
