Time will come v2 people will be crying for support to get replacement parts but they can't due unavailability like it happened to v1 people in the US. They were forced to move to v2. Now everyone will be forced to move to v3 after some years of usage.

Can't be certain coz it's no more the entire west Africa that is blocked. They've opened some countries. Could be policy issue, could also be desire to get enough v3 devices into countries before opening it up again for sales.

Good news is that West Africa is now being officially introduced to starlink v3 and mini devices with residential and residential lite services.
This has been officially opened for Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Bad news is that Nigeria and Benin Republic are still not considered yet. Both countries are still blocked from new subscribers awaiting for v3 to be officially introduced for them. Only then will the new monthly price of 75k take effect. Hopefully it'll happen this month.

You are looking at name plate rating which you rarely get, its rare for a 550watts panel to produce 550 watts in real life considering factory testing was done at STC... I reckon the most you can get is 70-80% of stated rating. Some people do produce that but rarely consistent.

I have a 16kw battery but my daily load is 63kw. ( 8kw continous x9 hours). Its not that oversized. We came across a deal to buy panels very cheap so we did.. it was luck.
Is it efficient? NO. Can you get more output from the system? YES.
We are more concerned with getting consistent output despite low light conditions. Its extreme but the point of my post is to prove you can add more panels past the stated inverter rating.. My system is different than a regular user.. The project calls for eliminating diesel generator use 100% completely during the day with no excuse for rain or clouds.

I understand you well and if I had the money I would do so too.
My system is also completely off grid. No nepa and no gen for years and it'll remain like that.
I'm not a heavy electricity consumer. Only 6kwh I consume during the day from the sun and my 14kwh battery serves me 5kwh throughout night till next day when sun kicks in again. My panels are also oversized compared to my consumption. I consume about 500w per hour but my panels produce 4kwh in good condition and 2kwh in bad weather condition which is still too much for my lil consumption. What I consume at night is replenished by sun before 10am sef and the rest of the day is ran by panels.

We still have to accept that these are things only people with money can do. Not everyone can cook up a fully offgrid setup for home or business.

In my system, none of my systems have less than 30,000 watts of solar panels attached to it and i have 8 systems running. I can attach videos.

16mm is too overkill. Its a waste of money. For your next project, get an inverter with 500v MPPT. Series those panels and use a smaller cable like 6mm, use the savings to buy more panels. You can never have too many panels.

I use standalone mppt with 150v max. I can only put max of 3 panels in series. If I've 3 sets of that and I've to parallel them, the ahms will surely go above 50a. Max that is recommended for 6mm² is 55a. Personally, anything that nears 40a I can't use 6mm on it.

16mm² may be overkill for you, but it's the best for my situation and protects me from heat, excessive voltage drop and high resistance.

It is already clearly written on this same page multiple times that you can only activate the BUSINESS PLAN on a brand new kit. The 38k residential plan only still remains for OLD CUSTOMERS that were able to activate their kit with the residential plan before the suspension of residential and roaming plans for new customers In Nigeria.

Suspension of residential and roaming isn't only in Nigeria but entire West Africa. Only East Africa works and coincidentally, only them have new v3 starlink being sold to them.
The rest of West Africa from Nigeria to Sierra Leone that use v2 have all services suspended.

This quotation is overly inflated and the installer seems inexperienced from the size of Cables on the list.

16mm DC cable is too much for 6 panels that will be connected in series as the current is under 20A.

Same goes to 16mm AC cable for a 6KW inverter.

Omo, I've same setup and I insisted on 16mm. It's just an overkill but in the long run it saves you from cable heats and in the future you want to upgrade you don't need to buy cables again.

Hope you are not carrying much load. Highest 60a charger will charger your lithium battery is 700w+- and that is with good sun.
If your load is 400w+ you may discharge your battery faster than you charge it on some days.
It's advices not to have load more than 250w, my opinion. I've one 12v lithium and only use a fridge of 100w on it.

For settings, i suggest charging voltage to be 14-14.1V. Float voltage should be same as your charging voltage. This enables the charger to carry the load of your device when it's filled and there's sun. If not, it'll fill up and stop working while draining your battery again

Why you using it on only 1 cc of 120a?
120a means the highest it'll use to charge the two batteries is about 6.5kwh.
With 35 of those panels, at peak you could produce 19kwh. What happens to the rest not used?
You should've got 2 mppts and you will have enough juice to pump into both batteries.

I coupled my cells with jk BMS and what you mentioned is true. At times my BMS will read 99% and 30a plus will still be charging the battery with 0.006 cell voltage difference. Just like you mentioned, users need to pay attention to pack voltage not just the battery percentage especially when one of those cells don't trigger the BMS HVD which will recalibrate the BMS. I didn't use jbd long enough to know if that's same with them. Jbd or Daly users should let us know if they experience such.

Jbd is worse. It's SOC drifts almost every time even with proper charging.
JK is far better bms.

Your starlink router only has 2 parts:

- Power board
- Mother board.

The power board only powers the router and the dish.

But you see that small tiny mother board? That's the main router. Everything you program on your router is stored there.

If you remove the mother board and add it to another starlink router power board, it'll have same name and id number and all as if you still using same router, all because everything you see in the app is stored in that small mother board.

To open a starlink router is another hell too. The gum these people used to hold the glass ehn, if dem use am gum you and your wife una no go ever fit divorce.

Since you have a 24v inverter, your battery has to be 24v too. Most brands stop their 24v at around 5kwh. But with DIY assemblers in here they can do 10kwh or more for you with 24v.

If those panels produce 2400wh then you'll need 100a charge controller to get full juice out of your panels. Lower ones will bottleneck and limit what your panels produce into the lithium battery

Why will you make someone pay high and you restrict their speed to 2mbps? That can't even give a HD video experience.

I'm also sharing my starlink with people and they pay as little as 3k monthly and they can harvest whatever speed they can get.
It doesn't stop me from enjoying my starlink as I still always get a download speed of 150mbps or more myself.

As you said, we don't know what BMS they use. So we can't be sure if it'll correct itself. But there's no harm in trying what was suggested.

I don't know what BMS you are using, but I've a battery at home that uses a Bluetooth BMS (not the JK everyone is using now but the one from another brand they were using before). Charging to a point that I know it's actually full, the BMS still reads 65%. So I entered the BMS settings from my phone, and changed the 100% voltage mark by just a little (eg 4.5v to 4.55v) and it adjusted back to 100%.

Some BMS drift away in the SOC they show you, but it does not affect the ahs capacity reading used or voltage reading. Once you hit that low voltage mark, the battery will cut off even if your BMS is mistakenly reading 50% instead of 20 or 10%.

The above was the trick I used sha. If not, invest in buying a Coulomb meter that you'll connect to your battery. I heard those don't fail in their SOC calculations. I recently got one from China that connects to my WiFi sef and I see my battery state of charge from anywhere in the world.

You are missing the Point, Once cell crosses below 3V dont expect them to have the same Voltages, or be balanced. That was what I showed in the picture. Can you proof me otherwise with a picture of cells in a 16s configuration that was discharged below 3V that have good and balanced cells.

The pack shows all cells below 3V with average these range, 2.9V 2.8, 2.7 and 2.6V.. is that an issue?

You are just contradicting yourself. If you are admitting that it's normal for cells to have different voltages below 3v, then there's no need in saying people ask you to cut low power at 3v to HIDE FLAWS. You are suggesting that these people are selling batteries with flaws and that's why they ask you to cut at 3v, even though you know that's not the case.

You really want to teach people things or give your opinions. That's really cool. But don't do it with languages or expressions that bring people down. You've sounded that way in many of your comments.

I only show cell behavior if you discharge them below 3V, regardless of the manufacturer same applies across, if he read between the line he will understand say na only Cell I bought, the pack was built by me.

What I was expecting is a someone to come out and show me their pack at 47V, and lets see the Cells behavior, this thread is DIY where we learn not a market place. Where we market or demarket anyone.

I hinted that most LFP seller will tell you charge to 3.45 and cut off at 3V so as to cover some flaws. Now that is evident.

All we do here is DIY. The battery pack you have, you didn't manufacture the battery. You got the cells, same way others in DIY got theirs, assemble and sell.

I don't know what point you trying to make by saying trusted people here tell people to not charge above 3.45v to hide flaws.... Are they the manufacturers of the cells? As one who assembles grade A LFPs, you'll simply follow the instructions of the manufacturers in charging their batteries. You won't invent your own charge/discharge protocols.

Don't talk down on good and trusted people's hustle.

BTW, I repeat what I said many months back, 98% of LFP manufacturers in the world recommend charging their batteries to 3.45v-3.55v. It doesn't mean they are hiding any flaws and doesn't mean they can't charge safely to 3.65v (just that they see it as not necessary since anything above 3.40v in LFP is just waste of charge due to LFP charge curve). Only one who doesn't understand LFP charge curve and longevity protection can say such thing. You are experienced in LFP and these shouldn't be coming out from you.

You assembled your batteries, BRAVO ! Let others do theirs too and stop making yourself look good and others bad when you and all of us here no be battery manufacturers.
