I no understand this. Choose high channel how?

5ghz is beamed in channels. Samsung and some devices only see channels of over 100. Starlink 5ghz channel is about 40.
If you don't understand router and WiFi setup very well you won't understand what I'm saying. If you check well in the setup of 5ghz you'll see option to choose channels. Some routers don't give u that option

The wifi, yes. But maybe not the ports you connected the tp-link too. LAN Ports are limited in some devices

It's possible though. See the list of the available network in my setup. I wired the Mtn Hynetflex router to the Starlink router, then wired it to Tp-Link through one of the four available Lan.

I do get consistent 5GHz channel and 2.4GHz channel from the Hynetflex router that hit maximum speed of up to 200Mbps but get maximum speed of up to 95Mbps from the TP-Link Router.

As am writing this, the Starlink 5GHz channel is no where to be found on my Samsung and other 5G enabled phones in the house but visible on my two gaming handheld laptop.

Note that some routers limit the speed from their LAN ports. I've one that is capped at 100mbps. So anything you connect to the ports, even if your net is 1000mbps it'll only give you less than 100mbps.
That should be the case for your hynetflex ports

Its possible to not see the 5ghz on tp-link if you didn't set it up well. While connecting the tp-link with starlink via adapter, you've to choose a high channel for the 5ghz. If you use a low one like starlink does, you won't be able see the 5ghz on some devices. Hlbreed

When buying this router, please buy the US version and not the EU version, so you'll not be having regrets like me.
The EU version doesn't allow you to set band 4 higher 5ghz channels which is what most Samsung devices need to allow you to connect to 5ghz wifi.


Check the carton (the area where you'll see the serial number) and you'll see where EU or US is written.

As long as you have the starlink ethernet cable, you are more than good to go and will get a better speed than your starlink router. No need to bypass sef. Hope you get 200-250mbps if you in Lagos.

In as much as it looks slow, the recommended speed for Netflix smooth streaming at HD is 5mbps

Of course, the 5ghz is constant 24/7 365 days.
This is because the router uses a high channel that all devices can read, while starlink router uses a low channel that only few devices can see. Your starlink 5ghz is also always on but just that some of your devices can't read it. My Android box and Samsung tablet reads the starlink 5ghz always.

But with tp-link, in my case Archer C80, every device have access to 5ghz always

Mtn 5G speed in my location (surulere) is really good, even better than my Starlink both in downloads and uploads. Here is a screenshot of the speed test I just did

From your result, my starlink is even faster in download, though slower in upload.

Shows that mtn quality is going down. This 5g speed you tested now is what a good 4glte should be achieving.

For some reasons unknown, a starlink I installed at Ikoyi is refusing subscription. We have tried every card possible. The worst is Starlink have stopped Nigerians and Brazilians from having more than one service on one account.

The speed you’re getting is really impressive. Guess those of us in Lagos will have to make do with what we are getting right now. I’m not even complaining because the speed is a lot better than the swift 4G network(28,670 for 10Mbps) I was using before moving to Mtn 5G(30,000 for 300GB). I would have stuck with Mtn 5G if they had unlimited data at the same price range as Starlink but, alas, they don’t.

The speed is great, but who needs all that in day to day usage. I only enjoyed the speed when downloading one game for my ps5 at 300 Mbps and it finished in no time. But I don't do much downloads. Mostly streaming and they use at just 10mbps.

The mtn 5g deal is nice though. With starlink highest I've used in a month is 500gb coz many used it then. What drinks most of my data is IPTV streaming since I stream all my TV, football and movie needs in HD. If the mtn 5g speed is good, then 30k for 300gb is nice deal.
Only problem was that I was in Abuja and mtn 5g speed was like 14mbps or even as low as 1mbps. What kind of 5g is that? How was the speed in Lagos?

Lagos seems to have many starlink users making it difficult for users there to get the best of starlink. It's like in USA where the best starlink speed people get is 100mbps.

Should work, but only the roaming option of 49k will work.
I know people get from Nigeria and use roaming to work in Burkina, Chad, Mali etc... You've to risk it and see if it'll work in Libya.

Now I was right, when I said it's a yoruba-igbo peculiar problem. But you even clarified it's more of Lagos-igbo problem. I've lived in ibadan for a while and I saw oyo people living well with igbos and giving their ladies to igbos for marriage. Imo girls, I saw in a recent video, are mostly asked for marriage by yorubas. So it seems, other yorubas don't have much problem.

I think it's that experience of calling Lagos no man's land that pisses originals of Lagos. It'll piss me off too. But you also said, such claims are noise without substance. The best way is to silence the noise in your ears and ignore such claims live goes on.

I know the igbos in Lagos will need someone to put sense into their heads about their utterances and I believe they know the truth but just say it to annoy you. But for now we are talking about how to react. Let the reaction not be to bring them down. If Lagosians react with anger, then the aim of their utterances has been achieved and they'll be winning. We need everyone. The yorubas are a great people with very rich culture and doings for Nigeria. The igbos are equally a very great people who impact a lot for this Nigeria. We can't deny those facts because of sentiments.

Let me speak for the North that I know well. In places like Nassarawa and Niger state, igbos are plenty even in the most rural places. I've never seen or heard a complain about igbos on the context that they claim to be better than us. They live well and integrate with the people. Northerners in villages envy their business exploits because locals have difficulties sustaining a mid-scale business like igbos. I'm in southern kaduna now and the locals say they respect the igbos for what they do.

Move to far north, igbos are also plenty and live OK with the people. They respect the northerners. Most of the antagonism against igbos in far north is because of their Christianity in Muslim dominated areas. They are seen as threat to growth of Islam and they can convert locals. Due to that some of them are killed or shops destroyed. But not because of their behaviour.

So, from our POV, igbos in their majority are not a problem, though they have few criminals among, but who doesn't have criminals.

I think the yorubas, or rather some yorubas have a strong rivalry with igbos. This should be unique with yoruba and igbos and not with other tribes.

Reading your last post, Bro, I read a lot of hurt and hatred in between the lines for the igbos. I don't know what personal experience you've had with some of them, but pls try to find healing. If you feed this hatred, you won't be far away from starting or supporting a genocide against igbos.

You can't tell me all the igbos think like that. Even if some of them do, that shouldn't condition the way you see them. Every tribe have one of these assertions. The fulanis plus hausas think they better in politics than all. Yorubas think they academically intelligent than all. Igbos think they more clever than all. But we know those are largely not the case.

I believe you've some few igbo friends who you admire as good friends. Don't use the mouth running of others (which is normal and will always happen), to deny yourself of future productive relationships and partnerships you could have with your fellow human being because of their tribe.
