caused by the spate of bombings and shootings
by the Boko Haram sect is over.

@asoderock, the argument that the north is a parasite, is borne out of a very poor knowledge of the north or from those  who just left thier villages for Abuja. A part of the country that produces suya, meat, cereals, yam, paper, fish, beans, groundnut and a large market for other to trade and take the share of the norths oil allocation cannot be called parasite.

So why re only the Northeners  like Elrufai, IBB, David Mark etc making noise over the place, insisting that the unity of the country must be maintained if not for parasitism, or do they genuinely believe in united Nigeria?. It is only the mentally lazy that attribute intriguing circumstances to some voodoo, or witch related causes. That way, he doesn't have to delve into the intellectual demanding explanation of such a circumstance.

I have a first degree in Chemical Engineering, but have been working in an oil servicing firm for about 4 years now, but I have a great passion for teaching Mathematics, and that is one job I will be most fulfilled doing. Job satisfaction now matters to me much more than pay. My question is, what is the easiest path to achieving this noble goal without necessarily going to a take another first degree in maths? Can I take it for granted that I will land a teaching job in Mathematics in the University if I make this grand career change, as a first degree holder in Chem Engrn? Your Candid opinion is very much welcum.

If the senate really want to get to the bottom of the matter, let them mandate these marketers to release documents showing daily trucking of pms within the period under review. Such documents are always kept, let me point out that it will be easy to fish out inconsistencies incase you are thinking they will inflate the trucking rate. What this man did to the 7000 or so Nigerians is not very different from what many so called 'Men of God' do to millions of Nigerians daily. Some people are simply too gullible to think for themselves.

Talking about removal of petroleum subsidies, that should be her no 1 priorities. If u understand what is happening in the downstream sector, no one will hesitate to call for its removal. A situation where a ship load of PMS berths, quantified, subsidy claimed, then with collaboration of PPRA, NPA and sometimes NAVY, the terminal owner backloads the products, take it back to the sea, latter bring it back as fresh product and claim yet another subsidy, then back loads again and maybe go and sell to Equatorial Guinea, Cameroun etc @ international prices, often x3 of susidised pump prize, the cycle continues. We are talking about billions of Naira in each of this cycle, since these ships carry at least upward of 20 million litres. The whole system stinks. I know because I work as pet Inspector in the industry.

I won't be surprised that the government has hired propagandists in this forum to continue keeping people in the dark(Remember the over N800m paid to a PR firm just to tell people that Nigeria is good). And some so called educated ones keep buying into it.
I met one Abubarka recently where I went for inspection in a vessel, he just got a low profile job there, as we saw on TV about the latest menace of Boko Haram, he confessed he was a member until he got a job. I took it upon myself to interview him, he made it clear that the group arose because of continued currption that kept impoverishn the youths. I got an impression of a group that arose out of frustration, instead of Religion, and loosely constituted without much control @ the head. Offcourse it is more convinient for Government to emphasis more on their so called Islamic agenda, to divert attention and  get sympathy. Mind u I don't support violent of any kind against innocent civilians.

Nigeria @ this point needs a change, & GEJ is not that change. Let us give NR a chance, his shortcomings in speech is redeemable and I am certain that will change in time. GEJ is not fantastic at speeches either, despite having held an executive political position for a number of years.

The 'ideal southerner' in me wants Ribadu. The realist in me wants Goodluck. Its simple; The time is now for us in the south. The desperation of these northern elements can not be seperated from the fact that they know that if Goodluck wins, it spells the end of the north's dominance. This may sound crude but it is the likes of Ciroma and Yakassai that really protecting the north's interest. If I were northern and not related or affiliated to V.P Sambo, I no go happy. Me sef go dey shout zoning. There's hardly anyone you can think of in the north that commands the type of respect and followership the likes of IBB, Atiku and Buhari enjoy. None. The remaining are just political jobbers, the equivalent of the current southern crop. However, the table's about to turn now. The country would definitely be better off with southerners in charge. Southerners will encourage merit better and thats why some northerners would be fine with the situation.

By the time Jonathan completes his 8 year tenure, IBB suppose don die or atleast too old, Atiku frankly is a spent force and Buhari has only goodwill from the northern masses. You should understand their pain, but shouldn't lose focus. We all want a better Nigeria, Goodluck is not necessarily the best we can offer, we stick together nonetheless so as to put the reactionary elements in the north in their true place. C'est fini.


The realist in me wants Goodluck to be there as President not only till 2015 but till 2019 except he can guarantee he would transfer power to another southerner preferably from the east. Walahi. From there, we can finally throw zoning where its supposed to be; the bin.


No beef with the north. Schooled there and all. In fact, I dey catch my trips for Kaduna and Kano{even with their sharia} well well. My fiancee is from the north too and i know some live niccas up there. What the candidacy of Goodluck offers us is the assurance that in a few years, there would be a level playing ground for us all whether southern or northern. Everybody should be happy about this; even northerners. If you're northern and you're not then it must be that you're among those dragging the north and the country back generally. If you're southern and you're not, then it must be that your I.T.K is preventing you from seeing the larger picture and you are among those that unconsciously aid and abet those determined to keep our country on its knees.

If  it can be determined that GEJ actually called Okah urging him to persuade MEND to renounce the attack, it then shows how desperate, insincere & how not he represent the desired change in leadership we need, to move this country forward @ the moment. He would have certainly lost my vote should he go ahead to contest. It should be possible to establish this, since Okha is supposed to be under close monitoring.
