whats the significance of the boldedhuh?.
2ndly, have you been vaccinated against against covid-19.....are there any extra restrictions for the non vaccinated?
The significance is - if you got any European airline to US, you would have been turned back before transiting to The US- this means you have entered the zone within 14 days and can’t come to the US until after two weeks.

So showing the ticket was cancelled means I did not travel through Europe and was turned back.
Most people who were turned back got a ticket immediately via Turkey.

Yes I’ve been vaccinated - extra restriction would mean isolating and upon return day 2 and 7 PCR test.
I think the new regulation to the US says you have to show proof of full vaccination
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Astonestone: 9:31am On Oct 26, 2021
Just to share my experience.
I travelled with Turkish Airlines (very long layover almost 10hrs).
What I was asked:
- what am I here for?
-how long am I staying?
- what was my travel route to the US
- Did I buy any tickets before to come to the US
- How much did I bring?
- take off your mask for capture
-Enjoy your stay in the US

There was no secondary check; no one asked anything; could also be because my flight got in around 8pm.

Also at Istanbul I was asked if I had travelled within Europe and those other countries within the last 14days. They also asked if I got any other tickets to the US and show proof of cancellation.

Thanks Seyewest for the help.

I applied for masters in 2010 through an agent in Lagos. Unfortunately, I never knew those agent gave me a fake statement of account after paying them 250k for them to fund my account. Been the first time applying for visa I was not aware of the process. My application was refused and was told will be refused for up to 10years. Along the line I was arrested and through that I was able to know that it was fake statement of account that was given to me. But the person was arrested and the police begged me to let go and forget about the account. The family begged me as well and I left everything to God to take control. Almost 7years now I have not tried to apply again at the UK embassy. My question is that, can I still apply now if I will be given or I should wait for that 10years? Pls I need your advice
Wait till it is 10 years. Don't bother wasting your money

You're welcome.
Btw, be sure to pay your $165 ELIS fee before you leave for the USA. It will make the processing of your green card faster.
If you pay after you arrive, your green card might take longer to arrive.
And be sure to go to Social Security office to apply for your SSN.
The quicker you get all these sorted, the quicker you can start your new life.
Have fun, bro

Thanks a lot. I will have these sorted before I leave. It's sis o lol thanks for everything .

Yes. The X-Ray is for the embassy. If they need to include it in the packet, they will.
Like I said, everything the CBP officer needs will be in that packet
Your own is just to pack enough food. Hahahaha
Hahahaha ok
Thanks a lot
Yes o I already planned to pack some food
But won't be packing much as per strict diet.
Thanks for all the info. I'm grateful
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Astonestone: 11:19am On Jul 11, 2017
9jaStar:
There really isn't that much questioning.
Everything the CBP officer needs is in your packet. Just don't open it before you get there.
At most, they will probably only ask you perfunctory questions about your family (or if it is a job, about the job and employer).
When I landed with my IV, the officer and I just spent time gisting about Nigeria while he went through the packet. He then asked about my kids and whether they have been to Nigeria before. I said yes, but not for the last few years. He asked if I give them anti malaria and so on, I said yes. As soon as they arrive and I put them on weekly anti-malaria medication
It just felt like a conversation between old friends.
So nothing to worry about. If you are traveling on a spouse IV, just be sure you know everything about your spouse and family so you don't trip up and invite any additional scrutiny
Thank you so much. I'm grateful. Pls I just need to ask, is it just the closed pack I'm taking? I've been seeing somewhere about X-ray result or so. Thanks

This forum is for people with U.S visa.
So please where can I get the right thread if there's anyone.

Until I am stamped in, it's still considered a visa as it is first time entering on this visa. I haven't seen anyone yet with immigrant visa. Please if there's a thread point it to me. Thanks

Please is there any link for questions asked at POE for those using immigrant visa?

I've been searching. Or does anyone have any idea what likely questions would be asked. Thanks

The advice is to calculate how much the trip will cost you personally. Flight, accommodation, feeding, sightseeing etc. It is advisable that you have savings of at least twice as much as this and need to have a sizeable amount left as you shouldn't reasonably spend, for instance, 3 times of your monthly salary on a 2 week holiday.

There is no "minimum amount" as the Entry Clearance Officer will consider individual circumstances. Your monthly salary, your cost of living etc.

P.S. Your brother cannot pay for your trip. Even if he will do so in reality, you still need to convince the ECO you will be yourself.
PleaseHis brother can pay for his trip. All my trips have been sponsored by my brother and yes I am working. I filled less than 100 pounds as personal contribution and visa was granted all the time

1m ke ?

For just two weeks ?

and what else will work , I've been to the UK before on student visa na .

my brother is my sponsor , I'm working full time in Nigeria

I'm just going for my leave
I think it all depends on what you fill.
For instance is your brother contributing anything to the trip I.e paying for flight ticket, accommodation feeding
And what you are contributing

Considering the fact you've been to the uk before it should not be a pb.
My first visa was all paid for all I had in my account was around 50k.

And the last I renewed about a month ago, all expense paid all I had was about 30k.
So if you brother is sponsoring most or some and you bringing some, whatever you are having in your account should be at least twice what you are covering for the trip

1. Yes, you would still need to include her bank statements. This is part of home ties though it may not be exhaustive enough. Consider including evidence of other family ties she has in Nigeria, e.g. If u have other siblings in Nigeria.
2. I do not know this as you are acting as the sponsor. People that usually quote maintenance costs are applicants sponsoring themselves. I think the ECO may decide your capacity to maintain your mum throughout the duration of her stay from your bank statements. Also consider the sponsorship maintenance form.
3. Those documents are good but not enough...

There is nothing listed as evidence of your relationship with your mum. Let me ask, are you male or female though. You said you had a baby, I was thinking you female. But you included your wife's payslips so I think you are male. Lol.

You also need:
I. Your passport biodata and visa page (or British passport if you are British)
II. Utility bills which is stronger than bank statement for proof of address
III. Perhaps your birth certificate which can link to your mum's passport suggesting she's your mother
IV. Evidence of communication with your mother like emails, chats and calls
V. You could include pictures of you and mum albeit there is a clause that this might not be considered in deciding your application.

**Others can also contribute to your question**
I think with these it should be okay. Utilities, mortgage bills/rental receipts, bio data page as he said.
I think evidence of communication/pictures is not necessary as she's visiting plus it's not her first time

Hello guys, thanks for the good work you all doing here. Please i'm currently filling my UK visa application form for a business Visa, i would be going for a conference in August. I dont understand the part the form says amount earned because i currently own my registered company and i don't know if i should enter the total amount i make in one year or the total profit i make from the business for a calendar year? Thanks guys. God bless
Please try to be paying yourself a certain amount as salary. As much as it is your company and all profit belongs to you, issues like this (embassy application) is why you need to be paying yourself a salary into your personal account.
Write an amount you consider salary and also start paying salary from this month.

Wait on others to give you more guidance though

Since I have been corrected on d application u will need to fill it will make no difference while u apply for ur mother inlaw. U said u reside permanently in Uk and u have a reason for her to come over just fill ur form and include letters from GP about ur wife having a baby I can tell u they know our parents come here to help us. I don't think there is problem with that and her staying 5 months too can't be wahala coss she can prove whe stay with u help with d kid then return. As u know it's no more easy to find job now in Uk so they for old mama like her na baby she come help with .
For a first time application for six months, I don't think saying you want to stay four months is really okay. Even if the ECO knows parents help their children, they also still consider this a job I.e childcare. The visa may be granted depending on how you present your case but best you avoid risks. Like I said, you may have two years visa and reach POE, the immigration officer there can cancel and send you back because he feels you are abusing the visa. Just do very thing with caution

Many thanks.

I live in London with my wife who is pregnant. We are permanently based in London. I want to invite my mother inlaw for Omugwo. So my questions are on her behalf.
There has been an increase in refusals for Visitors visas esp for elderly parents. Your MIL coming as much it would save money, it may lead to a long long ban from refusals for her. They are more strict now than they've ever been. I would not recommend more than 2 months on a 6 months visa. How that would help, I don't know. I know the cost of childcare can be very expensive esp in London but the choice is yours... Risk MIL coming to save money and future refusals or just wing it for two months till the next application

Hello all,

I have been on a debate with a fellow on the maximum allowed number of days a 6 months visit visa holder can stay in the Uk. He says with a 6 months visit visa one can only stay in the UK for up to 90 days (3 months) on a single trip. I know that with a 2 year visa one can stay for up to 6 months on a single trip to avoid being seen as making the UK one's home. However for 6 months visa, I cannot find anywhere to confirm the claim that one can stay a maximum of 3 months on a 6 months visit visa.
Please don't stay more than one month or the length of your official leave from work you submitted. If not your next application you have to explain why you stayed for long and how you supported yourself in the UK. Just stay a reasonable amount. People with 2-5 years have stayed four - five months and have had their visas cancelled at POE.
