Yes I think that is the general practice. It has happened to me before but the certs never came and i still havent gotten them now.    I think that is the way it takes a year for you to be able to apply for a new certificate and then you request a duplicate or submit a letter of idemnity (meaning u lost the certificate)

This happened along st finbars road akoka, lagos when I was young

My aunty was driving my cousins and I in a mazda going home. This lady in a 505 was trying to overtake us and then my aunt didnt know the lady was alongside us and started accelerating.
All of a sudden There was a car ahead driving towards the 505. Instead of her slowing down and entering behind us,,   the lady bashed us off the road  into a large gutter.

The car entered the gutter and the front side got smashed and all the glasses shattered it was quite scary for us i think everyone in the car passed out.

Was a crazy experience

write a letter to the registrars and inform them of the misspelt name.


put proof of your correct name and if possoble you can put a copy of your application form with the letter.
Most importantly use the same signature u used while filling the form.

returns were made because the offer was over suscribed. meaning they got more money than they wanted. Contact the broker/bank/agent you submtted the form through the returned money warrant should be with them

you will need to open an account with stock brokers and then when they open CSCS account for you u give the certs to them. CSCS is an account that will keep your shares in electronic form instead of paper certs.

maybe the cheque is still in the post to you. if The returned cheque should be with the receiving agents if not then its probly being/been posted to u or address.

Edwardd who did you submit your Nahco application to - avstock broker or a bank?

Make sure you go there or phone and ask if your returned cheque is with them.

Ive received my cert for FCMB and international breweries last week.

Certificates for NAHCO , Japaul AND Access ARE being posted meaning it can take time before it reaches you depending on what method they use and how far you live. I know international breweries used DHL so most people are recieving theirs faster than others.

Cashcraft bedrock and Anchor Fund released their allotment results in the punch newspaper yesterday, they were partly suscribed (none was over 40%) so i believe they should start sending certs/slips by two-three weeks time.

1. Sign an intermember transfer form (found on CSCS site) or find attached.

2. Write a letter to CSCS copying your current stock brokers asking for your shares to be transferred from Bleep ltd to Bleep ltd
3. Provide a current (not later than 4 months old) copy of your CSCS account OR write a letter to CSCS with N200 naira requesting for current copy of your CSCS account.

Give all three to your new stock brokers. Realistically it would take between 3-5 weeks

Another way to get the shares changed to your name is for you and your mum to open accounts in a stock broking firm once you have gotten the certificates and logged them into your mums CSCS acc.

You instruct them to cross deal the shares from your mums CSCS account to your CSCS. Please note that you will have to pay charges for this but cross dealing will mean that it will be a direct transfer.

Bros same thing here. I called them but they told me it was posted by Wema registrars since two months ago. I called Wema registrars who said Intercontinental registrars handled it.

Intercontinental messed up by changing registrars midway trough the allotment and posting process from wema registrars to intercontinental registrars so when you call one of them they will say the other handled it. I think I will go there personally this week to request for a duplicate as it is more than one year since the p.o finished.

Anyways call them on 271111-2.

The CSCS account will have your electronic shares e.g Union bank , First bank, Nigerian breweries.

While your stock broking account with us will have your money. Therefore your 100million will be in your stock broking account where you will receive monthly statements of account by email
You will also receive weekly evaluation of your shares by email.

You can send us instructions by email, a written letter or fill a purchase mandate. These are all accepted. You normally have an account officer and can correspond with him/her and another contact officer regarding your account.
