I saw the shocking videos on Radio Biafra website. I really felt bad last night. People merely remembering their war dead were cut down in cold blood. People being murdered in the name of "one Nigeria". If it is not herdsmen killing people it will be Boko Haram blowing up everwhere. If it is not the Nigeria police killing peaceful protesters it will be the Nigerian Army raining down bullets on the very people they are paid to protect. Killings in the millions since 1966 in the name of 'one Nigeria'. This is the country some crazy people want me as an Igbo man to accept and embrace? Tufiakwa! O bulu ogwu, o ma ere! |
kiyosaki1:Your problem is that you think that Niger-Delta starts and ends in Ijawland. You are talking about Adaka Boro and what happened 50 years ago. What about today? When GEJ, an Ijaw man was running for re-election last year, who were the only group who gave him almost 100% support? |
cbrass:You are talking as if you have never met husband and wife from two different countries before. |
As I thought, this thread was created to ridicule a section of the country. How come banning Biafra is ok but threads that are designed to insult Biafra are allowed? Something is wrong somewhere. The worst thing is that Nigerians who are rejoicing the shooting, killing, illegal arrest and detention of IPOB demonstrators do not realise that they are actually celebrating the bastardisation of the Nigerian constitution. These people do not seem to understand that it could be them out protesting tomorrow about anything from deregulation to increase in prices to economic stagnation. When the constitution gives us all the right to peacefuly demonstrate about anything we may deem important and the Government not only tries to deny people that right but even step it up to shooting them, it is a tragedy. When some people actually go on to celebrate that tragedy, it is pure madness. I think that IPOB should go back and re strategise on how to continue their constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of protest. They now know that the government of the day really doesn't care about human rights, the rule of law and the sanctity of human life. So instead of IPOB presenting themselves to be used as target practice by an uncaring Government, they should find ways of protesting for whatever they like out of the the view of the guns Nigerian security outfit. I will forever support the fundamental human rights of anyone or any group to peaceful protest. |
I'm an Anambra man and as far as Im concerned, an Anioma man is as Igbo as I am. A Rivers Igbo indigene is as Igbo as I am. I visited Elele in Ikwere LGA a lot as a kid and I saw no difference between the Ikwere people there and me. They spoke clear pristine central Igbo and their Ikwere language was just another Igbo dialect anyone can find anywhere in Igboland. There is no Ikwere man alive who speaks Ikwere that does not speak Igbo. Not one. The only difference between the Igbos of the 5 South East States and the ones in Delta,Rivers and the lower Benue is that they have been influenced by being in close proximity with other non Igbo tribes. Customs and language may be affected however, they are no less Igbo than I am. this why as an Anambra man, I want Anioma people or what some people refer to as "Delta Igbos" to have Anioma state away from the Isokos,Urohbo,Ijaw and Itsekiris. I also want Porthacourt state for the Ikweres,Oyibos,Ndokis,Etches and all the Igbos sub groups to get away from Ijaws and Ogoni who regard them as 'stupid Igbos'. I want the Igbos of the lower Benue, the Umu-Ezeokah people incorporated into Enugu people. This will strenghten Igbo unity and reduce this identity crisis that exists in some places |
In 1960, 4 young men were commissioned as officers of the Nigerian Army. Two of them were Yorubas, the other two were Igbos. The four men were: 1)Lt Olusegun Obasunjo 2)Lt Chukwuma Nzeogwu 3)Lt Olufemi Olutoye 4)Lt Gabriel Okonweze By 1965, all four men had become Majors and Nzeogwu along with other disgruntled officers who were disgusted with the political violence in the country started recruiting fellow officers for a coup. Nzeogwu told Olutoye about his plans and Olutoye said he would assist Nzeogwu as long as the coup was bloodless. Nzeogwu told Okonweze about his plans and Okonweze readily agreed to participate. However, Okonweze was transfered to Enugu Barrak before the coup began, rendering his services useless. But despite being best friends, Nzeogwu never told Obasunjo about the impending coup. I have often wondered, why did Nzeogwu never tell his best friend, Obasunjo about the coup? |
I'm an Anambra man but I'm more concerned that these boys are going to try to make that thing fly and in the process, the Helicopter blades will take both their heads off! I would rather have a helicopter that does not fly but two able bodied men alive than a flying helicopter and two headless bodies on the floor |
Some of you thought Buhari came for the masses? Sorry but no. Buhari came for a free all expenses paid world tour. |
The Nigerian Army and Police shooting and killing unarmed IPOB protesters who were praying and worshipping in a field in Aba. What a shame. Later they will say Nigeria is the giant of Africa. How can any country claim to be great when it's security forces are shooting the very people they are paid to protect? Later, APC supporters and the Lagos-Ibadan-expressway-media will say we are 'one'. I laugh but it pains me that Nigeria is killing my fellow Igbos simply because of difference of opinion. Either way, nobody can ever have a country "by force". It doesn't work that way |
cole265:Pushing him to his death? But it is your Nigerian Government that is holding him and wants to kill him. |
This is an example of why Buhari cannot fight the Niger-Delta Militants. They do not need to face the Nigerian Army in armed combat. All they need to do is just sabotage Oil installations on their land and that will be the end of it |
Nice one for Kanu! Ride on brother! Your trial and acquittal will finally show Nigerians that self determination is a fundamental right of every human being |
Freeze should shut up. The Lagos-Ibadan-Expressway media know how to twist spoken words on their head. Onyeka Owenu never said she was sacked for being Igbo, she even said she took her sacking in good faith and was grateful for the opportunity to serve. What Onyeka said was that her time in office was frustrated by a section of the country who feel that they own Government. She was victimised for being Igbo. I have had the opportunity to visit some these parastatals in Abuja and what is happening there is a disgrace. You walk in a Goverment office and you think you are inside someone's bedroom. People chatting and socialising like they are in a market place, half of them not even in for work. Those that are in will look out for which of th 3 main ethnic group you belong to and treat you accordingly and woe betide you if you are from one of the minorities, you don't even exist. I laugh at some people who think that Nigeria is this place where everyone sees each other as one. Far from the truth |
HungerBAD:A man who is proudly flying his 'colours' in court is who you think has regrets? I laugh in Igbo |

It's funny how the IG of Police will issue a statement warning people not to carry guns but cannot tell his men that it is wrong to shoot at unarmed people |
Buharis credibility and the Naira share one thing in common, both are falling faster than the walls of Jericho. |
I read the letter and it seems like a fair statement to me. However, I don't think the person(s) the letter are true democrats at heart and only God knows they don't listen. I'm not an APC or PDP fan. I think both parties are as bad as each other but when it came to the presidential elections I had to choose between Buhari, a former dictator with no credible history to write home about and an ineffectual GEJ who was grappling with so many socio-economic problems from Boko Haram to corruption. I voted GEJ and I do not regret it for Buharis actions have since convinced me I made the right choice. Buhari was a man who had very little credibility in the eyes of me and most of my fellow Igbos. That little credibility has all but evaporated since he came to office and proved he still remains an unrepentant tyrant. |
Underperformance is not an impeachable offence, however, if the national assembly gives a vote of no confidence on the president, it might be grounds to initiate impeachment proceedings. In the context of Nigeria and indeed most African countries, when a presidents party is the majority at the national assembly, it is highly unlikely that any impeachment move will be possible |
