At about the age of the child mentioned in the OP I had a phobia for lifts. The reason as I can articulate now was simple: when a lift starts to ascend your heart does a little fillip and this scared me and my response was to cry because I disliked the sensation. My Dad in particular suffered carrying me on lifts at that age. On one occassion I cried as loud as I could but my Dad didn't spank me. In any case I outgrew it later on. The lesson here is that there'll be some things little kids do that are embarassing but inasmuch as it is within reason, especially of the timidity we know of kids. We should give them time and encourage them to outgrow it. Beating isn't needed.

no matter how u put it the north is populous than the south,and what the guy said is correct there were problems during the counting. Have you ever wondered why the whole place is still dirty even with the so called weekly sanitation exercise. when will they stop this military inspired nonsense. Sanitation is a culture that must be taught to the people, not a military style closure of shops once a week. Go to Ghana and Togo and see if their environment is dirty. They dont do this nonsense called weekly sanitation where people will pack out the dirt in their open gutters and leave them on the road, only for it to be swept back into the gutter before the following week's sanitation exercise. What happened to

1. Dont drop stuff on the road, put them in waste bins. Government dont even provide waste bins on the roads and private companies dont provide bins in front of their premises
2. Dont throw stuff out the window.
3. There should be serious refuse disposal companies who regularly come around to pick up the dirt
4. There should be proper waste disposal equipment in public places like markets

Calabar is a very clean city and they dont need weekly sanitation to make them clean.
