peterjero:Sure, that's a good one too i uses this everytime i top fuel, because i like my cars to be at top shape always. if i told you that sometimes i refilled my c180 just once in a month because of good economy , you may find it difficult to believe. See my C180, my regular ride..i dont sell my Benz's

Similarly, you could gained tremendous power by and little horse with porting your cylinder head. Though these could be expensive and time consuming. To do these well, you may spend over eight hrs: Cylinder Head 204 - Porting & Polishing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iejDWSQEsqI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMNFeToqzJU |
I equally did full and complete engine flush to my Benz c180 and My 2005 ML500 and behold recorded tremendous power gains. This goes to tell us that most of the cars on our roads loses a lot of power, especially when buying second hand from individuals who lack maintenance culture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK33EHlk_M0 Little wonders why people complain of Benz C180 & BMW 318 being under-powered, but that you would be surprise , after you would have restored all their powers and gain almost all the horses. Needless to say that some cars are moving corpses. |
I clean my air intake and my top cylinders but unfortunately i could not do any video to show these. I did this in a very cheap and local way that works great. First of all in one of my cars, i use carb cleaner and spray at the air intake while leveling the rpm steadily at between 2000 and 3000 as i spray the almost half can of the carb cleaner. Then i later remove all the plugs and found a straw tube which i descended down the plug hold to the cylinder and equllay did about 2 mins spray to each of the 4 plug holes In another i use distilled water to do same to the air intake to decarbonize the chamber, i felt increase in power after doing this. You may equally use seafoam to do this, but i like staying away from chemical products. But the truth is that at every step of doing this i recorded some form of power gains. I'll bring some youtube video that demonstrate this later in this space..You may like to watch this youtube video: UPPER CYLINDER CLEANING ,GET THE CARBON OUT , CRC MOTOR TREATMENT !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rLaJnmguYY You could also watch this video on seafoam: http://diysrc.com/how-to-seafoam-your-cars-engine-to-clean-and-dissolve-carbon-buildup/ |
The intake valves and the heat from the engine can cause fuel sprayed from your injectors to dry up and create accumulated deposits on top of them. This deposits on top of the intake valves can then absorb incoming fuel and rob the engine of it power over time. Another direct cause of lost of power in engines are accumulated deposits that occurs in the actual combustion chamber, when carbon deposits form as a byproduct of the air and fuel combustion reducing its efficiency. These deposit can travel to other areas of the engine and cause a lot of issues to your car, including hesitation and stalling if left unattended to especially in German cars coupled with bad fuel(non Premium fuel) Therefore, it is necessary to always clean out your engine once in a while. Removing these engine deposit may include pouring some additives into you fuel tank;manually cleaning some parts of your engine such as : 1)fuel injectors and throttle bodies(Fuel injectors are so tiny that a clog of only tiny deposit can induce stalling, engine hesitation or loss of power) 2)Throttle bodies (You'll need to remove the emissions hoses, intake air hose, sensor wires and anything else connected to your car's air intake in order to clean this parts manually) 2)intake valves (Deposit here can cause hesitation and stalling) 3)Combustion chambers (deposits here can raise the octane requirement of the engine and even cause premature fuel detonation, making your car very inefficient that "chop you great fuel" ![]() 4) Your engine (Not all deposit in your engine are caught by your engine oil filter. If these particles become excessive, it can gummed up and form sludge and gunk which clean oil alone can't flush them out. But the chemicals used in an engine flush will be able to do these to stop further wear and tear allowing fresh oil to move through tiny crevices and crankcase of your engine) An engine flush removes the gunk, which keeps the parts running smoothly. That in turn can make the engine more efficient, bringing the power and fuel efficiency closer to what the car had when it left the factory. In very old cars, however, the engine flush might clean these piston rings, valves, and other parts a little too well. Sometimes, the gunk acts as spackle in non-metallic parts like rubber seals that have cracked with age. Cleaning out the gunk exposes those cracks, and the weakness of those parts becomes apparent. View this example of cheap/affordable but very effective engine flush. Please note that this is not Mercedes Benz nor any manufacturers standard , but it works. It worked for my 1994 Benz c180 and my 2004 ML 500 which i just did recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK33EHlk_M0 Additives will vary based on the type of engine, what they're cleaning and how often they should be used. Just make sure you follow the instructions properly. |
eddiebruk:Smart guy, you want to key into the advantage of fallen price. There is nothing wrong with the ride as far as you keep to the rules of the right oil change and interval, right transmission fluid, and maintain good electrical mannerism as is always with performance ride. It has good suspension system for your sporty fun exploit, but you need to learn to keep it on bends and round roads with such overwhelming sporty performance exploit. |
sultaan:Well Sultan, sometime Benz pricing is often misunderstood, if others like Lexus, Nissan , uses the kind of material and technology Benz uses in her fabrication, they are always twice the price of Benz Take for instance , Benz, apart from the Kompressors, build their turbo inside the cylinder(very expensive but efficient technology, the research too would have been expensive) but others build theirs outside the cylinder just like those street tunings. Any level of Benz, even the least entry level does not compromise in weight(material) and in technology as well as handling and engine longevity/ruggedness. They all grip the road very well no matter how little. That is why their entry level vehicle is always costlier than the full size sedans of other budgeted brand-though some fanatics would always misunderstood these simple facts about Benz. GM has been resuscitated like twice or more at government intervention..not yet recovered from that, so they are trying hard to win the minds of the people, so they are very careful in what they do with those muscle cars pricing, else they wouldn't sell to you an over 700hp Dodge challenger for 65k nor Ford Chevy at such amount- In as much as they are trying to make pronounced impact, they are also careful not to use too much expensive technology, in order to make sales. They have not forgotten the past so soon, though despite these huge horsepowers their weight always stood on the way because of the not so expensive technology in used. It is only here that you could buy 700hp & 500hp vehicle that cheap, this was the reverse in the past. Definitely too,the SLS technology was too expensive and inefficient, i also think that the SLS was overpriced, else the better AMG GT S shouldn't be that cheap. |
Originalsly:Mazda, especially Mazda 3 and Miata have always been one hidden but very sound savvy vehicles, very efficient, and not bad in performance as well too. I have always told people, if its about savvy and reliability, if you gave me Corolla and Mazda 3 or Miata to chose from , i would always chose a Mazda without blinking an eyelid. I know Toyota fan boys will not mercy me on this. I have always loved Mazda at this level; affordable; efficient; performer at their compact sedan level. Non like it yet. GT-R on the other hand, like Lamborghini, is all about speed , yes they do very well with that. But professionally, unlike the Lamborghini and the rest, it is a very hard vehicle to keep on track at such performance level compared to these ones. Her grip on the road, a car of such level of magnitude and price is not so good per se. Whether we like it or not , Lexus is Toyota in her modified state, it has a root of frame work of budgeted(poor) suspensions and poor road gripping and budgeted materials too. Yes they may have worked so hard on the aesthetics and performance by way of targeting a particular brand Mercedes or BMW she wants to outsmart- that doesn't make it a performer or best round car in the over all but only in some aspect of interest based on who she is competing with. |
sultaan:I don't think so, rather its been years of properly finance research to replace the all powerful SLS. MB as usual gave it all it got there...Same thing BMW is doing right now in their carbon fiber 7 series(as they now produces carbon fiber themselves) |

When it comes to AMG, performance and aesthetic is usually the flare, absolutely enticing to the MB petrol heads, but that has got to change in the new c63s AMG-that has agone way too better than expected. The new C63s AMG is the sportiest AMG ever design, it has some complete modifications as in the wider body to accommodate bigger tires up to 255mm in the front and up to 285 mm at the rear; the dream of most street enthusiast. It also got complete redesign suspension at the front end and a radial racing style break that outperform her predecessors and todays formular one cars with super modified AMG specific differential axle that moves the contact surfaces of the wheel bearings towards the outside, the type of car designs that private rich street enthusiast pull up for contest. Now this is practically overdone here-Thus, contributing a lot towards over balancing and stability, which has always been a thing of Mercedes Benz, no matter the entry level. It has a muti clutch(not "dual" but "multi", a kind of automatic that packs extra clutch in demand) without a torgue converter that race the heavy sedan of 3,900ibs(they needed not to compromise component and lighten up the machine to run) into 3.9 sec at 0 to 60 MPH and with a rocket limited top speed of 180mph from the 4.0 litre turbo charged V8 engine(same engine mounted on the MB GT) that muscle out a whooping 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque that make nonsense of the BMW M3 and the Audi Rs 5. You have the option in the centre console to open up the performance exhaust to leap up with sudden speed burst without the slightest lag, with lots of turbo build up as you throttle hard on the pedal. As if that is not enough, you could also switch to the sport mode , if you are an unsatisfied speed demon with such a sophistication. ilogbe:Mehn!! your ride hungry me. Nice pimping there. Gbosa for you. This must have cost you some pretty nice doe |
CoolKizzy:I really love your Classic Benz, the way its so neat..i love them neat and strong... |
Eyop:People would always have one thing or the other to say..I love it for the very fact that the amg version is the fastest 4 cylinder 4 door coupe with best economy ever produced, not even BMW m235 can stand it. For me, any thing short of amg is not acceptable for a car of her class(entry level Benz) You do not expect it to behave like the senior brothers , cls 4matic, nor s4matic neither gl4matic or GLE 4matic .."white hair get level" while your money speaks Besides , the senior brother, CLS, na guzzler, "wey soup sweet, na money die on top" But this junior brother for the younger minds and leaner pocket, produces more horse power than most 8 cylinder car that guzzles 3 times its fuel consumption. Itsn't it amazing what magic Benz research and got out there with such star asthetic? That is , you eat your cake and have it again at the same time... Its worth celebrating |
Eyop:Nop! its 4matic , the amg 45 |

weyreypey:The fuel sending unit of a Benz c180 that is residence inside the fuel tank, one part at the main tank compartment and the other part at the other compartment that handles the 1/4 tank and reserve. This is what usually causes the riot inconsistent readings and final shutdown of the car at quatre tank when it got to its worst state. I don't know how better to explain it than this. |
mane4:Its a known issue, not only with Benz but also with 2006 Camry, highlander etc and always with first model of other brand manufacturers too that goes sophisticated. There is a little chip in the sending unit inside the fuel tank that normally gives clearance overtime and make reading riots and inconsistent. Drive into a pit and with a large basin , go under your car and empty the fuel by unscrewing the outer waste cover by the side of the tank under your car. After having done this, you could put your hand and uninstall the sending unit and unplug its cable to bring it out to to work on it. i.e carefully using a pair of pliers to carefully and softly hold the fuel reading chip that looks like a sim card firmly in place so that it could accurately be doing consistent reading before the situation goes worse and the car will be shutting down at quatre fuel Alternatively, you out-rightly buy a pair of fairly used sending fuel unit in the spare market to replace with yours. it cost about 7000 naira for good fairly use type. You have to physically inspect to make sure that the chip of this fairly use one is firmly in place and that the second pair, the floater is in good condition too before you install and connect the cable to its electrical socket. Pls note that if you must buy, it must be the pair you are buying at that price This is my sending unit that i out-rightly replace.. but i fixed the chip in that of my neighbours highlander and it worked.

hamzatkayode:Very durable. In a nut shell, it is a very rugged car, but has some rules..one of which are premium fuel, but thanks to xft. 90 percent of this car problem is always about bad fuel, the remaining 10 about electricals. Dont give it to kazeem electrician. Never join two wires of different resistances, else when the wahala start , dignose may be difficult as the low resisitant wire would always get hot at the joint and form partial contact, cutting signal flows that may not be suspected at diagnose. Endeavour to have spare fuel pump relay and OVP should incase they malfunction as you travel else wait to cool and continue with the journey, better than start unplugging things and changing fuel pump or other unnecessary expensive repairs. Watch out for the airflow and keep it clean too, good fuel or xft will maintain the life span of your airflow meter. Use the recommended transmission fluid , dont manage/abuse. Always scan to know what to diagnose to elongate her lifespan. Avoid driving on flooded roads else you may spend hundreds of thousand on the ac components alone.keep to the rules, save a lot of bucks into your pocket. Don't always rush repairs as some issues may just correct itself with a little patience, such as sunroof movement, electrical mirror, radio malfunctioning etc. Just little electrical issues like this , if you bought the early models, but with the late models non. On the overall , it's got some very good handling potentials and performances. Its has 100 percent cornering potentials 100 percent turgid suspension system with good, trusted breaking system 100 percent steering potentials and driving mechanics very very engaging with strong , next to nothing durable engine system with timing chains(unlike belt), strong headers and cams and good cylinder heads. With proper oil changes, engine last a life time. |
Yungboss, where are you? Of recent you've been too quite dude? |
I think this will make a lot of sense if it eventually enters the automobile market. The sporty looks behind with those two eyes at the front spoiler is what is really captivating. Irresistible beast... Are we sure this concept wasn't stolen from Benz cls? |
lomomike:Coming from a Toyota fanboy, that only swears by the Toyota brand . Out of how many countries of the world? |
eromspete:A lot: My 95 Benz c 180; my neighbours 2001 Benz c200 kompressor; and my Benz 190 still drives strong and kool as if it was manufactured today, in the real sense of the word. You dont play with those machines. |
Driving manual very well and skillfully is a whole lot of skill you cannot afford to but acquire/master in your lifetime no matter what. But it's a pity that some doesn't even know it just like i use to, the more essence i had to buy one and use as everyday ride to muster every known secret . |

I own and drive a 7-year old Audi A4 (2008 model year) and it still runs like it was manufactured yesterday.
Cool down guy
