The import of this statement is that you intend to worship the God that created everything and you will ascribe no partner on to Him. A good approach to facts finding (especially spiritual matter) demand that you open mine, use your God given brain and pray that He that created you should guide you as you embark on such journey and give you the wisdom to recognize and accept facts even if that contradict your preconceive notion of reality. The usual problem lies in human inability to accept a position that goes contrary to his stand point(Creed),or his parent religion or social convention of his environment.

I, on purpose, refer you to Abraham, being a figure whom all the three major religion accepted as role model. Abraham found his parent deep into idols worship but his quest for the truth prompted him to ask some propound questions including who really created mankind, heaven and earth and his acceptance that only GOD, without partners should be worship and be called upon for help once in need of one.
