Sorry to hear about the sad outcome of your wife application. Like you right noted, using a dumb agent can be disastrous. With her travel history she won't have any problem on her next application if she can address the issues. Just gather all the nessary documents to show that she is self employed. This will include business registration certificate, tax clearance certificate, MOUs, company bank statement etc. On the other hand, the ECO knows that a lot of applicants now used group church conferences attendance to immigrate into UK. She just unfortunate to be considered in that light. My advise try again next year for a family vacation.

Ok, i will do just that. We have 2 kids who have always travel with her during vacations to Germany and US,But because this one is a church conference and her first UK application,We then decided to use my kids and me as strong home ties,But they still refused her. She will reapply next year insha Allahu.

Finally my wife Got her passport back yesterday but was refused. We waited in Vain,But its all good. They refused her for one reason,They said she is working since 2009 but she couldn't fill her salary amount nor documents to explain that,So based on that,they didnt believe that she will leave the UK after her visit. She did a very big mistake because they are about to attend a church conference and the church employed an agent to fill their forms for them,.the agent wrote the church society name on the column where they asked how much do u earn monthly or something like that,thereby causing massive rejection for almost all of the applicants. How can he not fill such an important thing in a form. Using agents are the worst thing u can do while applying for a Visa,Now i know why people don't use them at all. I was so surprised by the application outcome,but when i read the rejection letter,i concluded that we caused it. because my wife has a good travel history, she has already used 6 Schengen(German) visas,Traveled to Germany up to 8 times without overstaying her visa for once since 2009 till date & 2 US visas with the last one used for winter holiday last December & its still valid till next year November,. But the agent filled rubbish that caused her the chance for her first UK visa Application. @Justwise,& the Gurus in the house. She is the one handling my Biz with her personal acct & my company account which she is signatory to. She is been paid from our company acct direct to her personal acct every month but without payslip because its our family registered Biz which she is a member of the board of directors in the article of memorandum. So how do i put it to them when next she will reapply again to avoid been refused again. Note, she is not applying anytime soon.

I had waited and right now am tired of waiting.... Even the purpose of traveling is defeated I really wonder may be they passue pple passport to another country u can't tell!!!!
I submitted and biometric on 26th of April in Ikeja VAC and decision was made on 24th of May after like 20 working days.......i waited for 10 working days for d Return Of my document... Nothing show..i mailed UKVI on 7th and got their response on 13th confirming for me that d decision has been made...after waiting without my passport being returned I then call again on 22nd June..... Then the guy now escalated the case but till now still waiting.... ...

Just Imagine!, Yours has been with them for over 2 months now. Am so disappointed because this is the first time my wife is applying for their Visa,.The Waiting game is becoming unbearable,i hope the aftermath comes good to make up for all these long wait.Lol

Plz everyone what causes delay after the 15days for visiting visa. My wife was sent an email from Sheffield on the 16th day that they are sorry that her application is still under consideration and will be ready in some days.

My brother i don't know what they are doing with peoples passport that causes all these delays,.My wife is in the same situation as yours.She applied on 23rd May,Got "Decision" on 13th of june,but uptill now no news on her passport where about, She even paid DHL in advance to deliver her passport in the east because we live in the eastern part of Nigeria,thereby making it difficult for her to easily check at the VAC or the UK embassy unless she comes to lagos again,which we are planning to do if we dont get any news by end of the week,the inconvenience is very huge for people that lives in far away cities. I have never seen this kind of delays since 2009,the year she started obtaining(Schengen & US)Visas,Its very discouraging.

She should go to the TLS centre and collect her passport. My wife had a similar case and I told her to go there which she did and they gave her her passport.

Thanks, But we are not living in lagos and i dont want her to travel that long journey and be told by TLS that they have sent her passport to her through DHL or that her passport is still not available for collection,.thats why i want to see an Email from TLS or Embassy before deciding whether or not she can go to TLS. But if we don't see anything from now till weekend,then she can travel to Lagos on Sunday to see them on Monday.

So when did u get the mail and when did TLS update your tracking info

Its just frustrating, My Wife applied & did Biometrics since 23rd of May at Ikeja TLS,It was "Decided" on 13th of june but uptill now no Email from TLS or embassy on her passport where about,before we can talk about DHL, because she also did DHL option since we dont reside in Lagos. Her travelling date is fast approaching because she is travelling for a conference and we dont even know if her application is successful or not,. US Visa procedure is never this hard to get back your passport.

Ok thanks, we haven't received such Email from TLS,which means that her passport is still with UK embassy.

Hi @ekpotek, My passport is ready for collection and I paid for courier service. but using the waybill number provided, I noticed DHL did not pick up the package for about 3 days now so out of curiosity I called DHL and i was told it takes 15 working days after TLS contact me for collection before they can pick up the package (I find it difficult to believe tho). I called them again after 2 hours and another DHL agent said the same thing. Now I want to know if it's still possible to pickup my passport personally since DHL tracker shows it's still at TLS. kindly advise, I need the passport next week. 15 days is a long time. Thanks

Pls how did u know that your passport is ready for collection from TLS? Did TLS sent u an Email? Am asking because Ukvi "Decided" on my wife Application on the 13 of june, But uptill now we haven't heard anything either from the embassy or receive any Email from TLS, Before we start talking of DHL, because we paid DHL for delivery also. She is going for conference,All her colleagues even the ones that didn't get their visa have collected their passport through DHL earlier this week accept her.

Please I was granted a B1/B2 visa in 2016 and i already travelled with it. I just found out im pregnant and considering going back to give birth in the US since i still have a one year one valid visa and im considering goinf to chicago for cost reasons. Please i need someone to assist with the following questions

Do i still need to send a letter of intent? Please like how much should i budget for hospital bills and accomodation to avoid any surprises.

You dont need it since u have used your visa for the purpose it was issued to you,.But some people still prefer to send it and receive the normal response for formality sake,should incase the question of "did u inform the embassy" arises at the POE,then u can have something to show, to avoid stories that touches the Heart.,Because all these people speaking long grammar here cannot save u at the POE,.better be prepared than to be taken unawares. Your budget should depend on the Hospital,doctor u are using and other things u might need during your birthing period,like house accommodation,etc U can budget 10kusd,u might have a big change from this or u might need more USD in case if there is extra charge which might came up as a result of any complication during your childbirth which no one prays for.

U are right with your number, but it wont show until they make a decision on your case,then it will be recognized & updated. It happened on my wife own.

If the travel date is close, I will advise you go to the high commission on Walter Carrington with your slip before 12pm to retrieve the passport. A few people have said their passports were not at the VAC for pick up after the 10 days and we're able to retrieve from the high commission.

Thanks, Her travel date is still next month, We live in the east and she paid DHL to deliver it for her in the east. But i dont know how long it will take DHL to deliver it. If it takes too much time,then she can go back to lagos to check.

But this is the first time she is applying for UK visa,We dont know how it works with UK Visa application,.thats why i am asking.

I really don't know, it should work both during working and non working hours. has it been long she had her biometrics? cross check if her GWF reference number is correct, if it doesn't work again and you are really eager to know her application status, you can go to their embassy and ask them, they will be able to tell you the status of her application.

I have the same problem and have tried it more than thirty times and its saying it doesn't recognise the reference number.

I don't just know why, its still telling me the same thing uptill now.

no special format, just put your reference number, you can try again and see if it will work

I did it again starting with the GWF and then the 9 digit numbers,but still no way. Or is it because it doesn't work at night,but works during working hours alone?

That was under transit visa application and not visiting visa

U are correct because Bank statements is included there. So i think its for transit Visa.

Yes @justwise thanks for your response. Like the previous commenter mentioned, there are different sections with list of supporting documents. Section 4 is still for visit visa. Plus I don't see a reason why transit visitors might want to add sponsor's utility bill to their application in the first place.

But why did they write bank statements there as well,. I think its for Transit Visa not all visas,if not Bank Statements shouldn't be among them. Justwise is correct.

Justwise, in reply to your question, he visited last Christmas and left 17th January, 2017. And yes, there has been exchange of gifts and cash.
And please while addressing the above, when is most suitable to reapply, can i reapply next month after gathering all the extra documents you all have pointed out? like how much should I have in my savings account?

You can ask him if he still has his flight ticket from his last visit,. it will be helpful for you so that they can use it to determine also when he visited or saw you last.

It is absolutely wrong to get a Nigerian birth certificate for a foreign born child. There is no need to sugar coat what is so glaringly wrong and pass it off as right because in Nigeria everything and anything goes.

A child born to US parents in Nigerian cannot go to US and request a birth certificate. The best he can do is request for CRBA (which can be used in lieu of a US birth certificate to issue his US passport). I repeat HE CAN NEVER GET A US BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

So also a child born to Nigerian parents will get registered with the Foreign Births Unit of Immigration department(FOR RECORDS PURPOSES) before a Nigerian passport is issued in Nigeria.

Infact, getting a Nigerian birth certificate for a foreign born child is immigration fraud and SFU can take up the matter. Ignorance is not an excuse

I guess u are correct,because u can only have one birth certificate and it should be in the country where u were born,.Then they can duplicate it for u whenever u want more. My son was born in Holland(Amsterdam) and when i did Nig passport for him, they never ask me to produce his Nig birth certificate,.Rather they used his Holland birth certificate to issue him his Nig Passport. Even before i processed his Holland passport,My wife always use his Holland Birth certificate to apply for his visa and no Embassy has ever ask for his Nig BC before issuing him visa.

Following the scarcity of Nigerian passport from abroad, is it possible to get the Nigerian passport for my LO in Nigeria and take it along with me to the US for her use to return to Nigeria? Has anybody tried this option? I read people now find it difficult to process emergency travel certificate (ETC), VOA too seems not to be readily available unless you know someone to help you out (as @desouls has helped many here). Quite a number of people are asking for @desouls contact while some are getting frustrated.

Please can @desouls give a step-by-step guide to be taken to process the VOA without necessarily calling for his/her contact anytime anybody wants to process the VOA.

I wonder why people always asks this question about driving in the US, U are in the US to have your baby,why driving? why cant they do what they came to do and leave to Nigeria and then drive as they like? instead of coming to foreign mans land with non immigrant visa and create one problem or the other for yourself in the name of driving,. What if u hit someone with the car? the next thing will be to put the blame on Devil,. I think people should avoid all these driving things and face what they come to do,. My Opinion though.
