I wasnt aware this was an issue i.e. length of stay stated at interview (2 weeks) vs actual length of stay (maybe 4 weeks) so far its not beyond what you were stamped in for at border control...so you have stay for exactly the time period you stated at the interview?
Sometimes It becomes an issue depending on the VO, it happened to my wife when she did DropBox for her renewal,She was called for interview and was refused because she stated 2 weeks at her interview but she stayed 7 weeks at her first Visit and she didnt gave birth,it was just Holiday. She later visited US again and stayed 3 weeks. But she later reapplied and was successful.

Hi all, eku 3 days! The thread has really grown! Congrats to the new mamas and papas.
I've got a quick question please. How long can one keep a visa application fee payment for? Let me try putting it in a clearer way...for how long would a visa fee remain valid if one misses a prior scheduled appointment, any deadline at which the person must re-book or forfeit the application fees?
Its 1 year period from the day of Payment.

Thanks justwise, what does the Eco mean by saying i have times 7 of my salary in my account ? i have been working with our company for 4 years +, is it a crime to have funds in my account please, what sort of refusal is this? i seems dont get it? please 200k for 12 months without spending kobo is like 2.4 million, i have just 1.4million left after all expenses without lodgments, i am really confused, he even acknowledged my payslips.... hahahaha ... i cant stop laughing...lol. this is what happens when you receive training from gurus on Nairaland and oyinbo looking for loop holes and couldnt find any.
Just imagine, My brother sometimes they refuse u for nothing and just give u one reason or the other,Because in this your refusal i didn't see anything that warrants such an excuse to refuse u the visa. Sometimes they get confused with the quantity of applications they received and do whatever they like.

There may be many ways or steps to correct before reapplying. One option or step is to open a salary account and start paying her salary.
Ok thanks,But from which Account will i pay her from since i have been using only her account for all my companies transactions or do i Open a companies account and pay her from there? finally, will it workout if i pay her also without payslip, because its just our private personal company?

@Brightingsus & other Gurus in the house, Pls i have question to ask. My Wife was rejected in June because the agent that fill her form online did not state how much she earns & all other financial columns in the form were not filled as well and my wife was refused based on that, we have never used an agent for any of her past visa applications ,but this one was a church conference in the UK & the church has an agent that fills forms for their participants and the agent didnt even allow them to see their forms untill the day they are going for submission and she couldnt go through the forms before submission, because thats her first time of applying for UK Visa. these agents are not trustworthy at all. And my Wife is a regular traveler to the US and other Schengen states, My question is that i am not living in Nigeria and i have a registered company with her name as one of the shareholders in the CAC, and i also uses her personal statement of account to run the company with a big inflow and outflow all the time even some huge sums i send from abroad goes to the same account as well But i don't pay her salary not to talk of having payslips, and she has used the account to obtain a lot of Schengen & US visas without any too much questions or refusal,. My problem now is that UK is all after salary,no sufficient money,Lodgement and payslip, etc. How do we go about it?because i want her to reapply next year so that we can start preparing from now to avoid making any mistakes when the time comes. She is traveling to the US this November and to Germany in February before reapplying. We are Married since 2011 with 2 kids whom are also regular travelers as their Mum. Thanks in Anticipation

Amen and God will surely grant it in Jesus name. Am doing that for my children and not for myself so if i have 10m, i will spend it on my wife giving birth in the US. Am of the future if Jesus Tarries. So am aware of the investment you are talking about and i also have reasons for my actions. Many thanks

Hello House,

This is a note of appreciation to everyone on this platform who at one time or the other gave their advise or words of encouragement. Submitted at VAC on the 27th of July with mum and sister; who got their visa 3 wks after application.
At 5:20pm yesterday received the mail that my passport was ready.
I jet to Ikeja at 10am, with palpitations. I could not open the package till I got back to work. At work, I entered the toilet and locked myself inside, where I struggled to throw open the bag. After so much hassle, the bag was open, I saw my passport, checked into the bag for any other thing, I didnt see any thing. I opened my passport, flip through the pages, and saw nothing, I started sweating. Meanwhile my sister told me if they refuse me that I will get a white paper letter. I CHECKED THE FLOOR TO SEE IF THE PAPER PERHAPS DROPPED WHILE i WAS TEARING THE BAG, NOTHING O. Ha, My hands were already shaking, I then shook my passport, flipped the pages again, one small paper just dropped from it. I was like ha, after everything, refusal noni, I hissed, braced myself up to read the reason for refusal. But to my surprse, the paper read IMPORTANT NOTICE! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE INFORMATION ON YOUR VISA BEFORE....... Na so I jump o, I THEN calmly opened my passport and saw, the stamp o, with my pix taken at the VAC. 180 DAYS, C-VISIT, MULTI..BLABLA...

Congrats bro,Have a safe trip.

You will need to apply for the standard visitor visa. It will take the same process and documentation as any other visitor visa. You will not be allowed to board the plane without a visa, even if the stopover in the UK is for a minute. So if your intention is stay 2 days in the UK, apply for a visitor visa. If not, you can apply for a Direct Airside Transit visa, which will allow you to leave the aircraft and board another. So I would advise that you start the process now, as there has been a lot of delays for many applicants.
Its not true, if u have a valid US visa and u are not entering inside UK, U can still enter British Airways, and transit at Heathrow UK for your onward journey to the US without any type of UK Visa. My Wife has used BA 2times to the US and transited at Heathrow for more than 5hrs before connecting her flight to the US without your so called Direct Airside Transit Visa.

Sharing my experience at the Lagos embassy. I was denied Visa, I used Dr Ayoade Akere of J.I.L Medical Consultants in Chicago as my correspondence Dr. Though he is a Family physician and not an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. But he said he delivers babies too,so I felt he he is an all rounder, meanwhile his bill is higher than the Obgyn we exchanged mails with in Texas. Had to settle for Chicago cause I have a family frnd to stay with, who recommended him as well.
ME: Hello,good morning
VO: Good morning

The VO has already told you what went wrong,. May be the VO saw the Doctor u used in your application and google his name and found out that the Dr is not an Obgyn, which u already confirmed he is not,in your write-up. Little things can spoil your chances of getting your Visa. U should have used the one u exchanged Emails with in Texas and when your visa is approved,u can always change your destination,Its not against the Law to change your birthing destinations. Judging by the Interview, the VO is quite friendly with u,but seeing what he/she saw in your application, the music changed.

Thanks babatwi, pls am in a fix right now and don't know what to do. Dh was suppose to come over to pick us but he went for his interview yesterday and was denied. Below is the transcript.
Dh- good morning
Vo- where are u heading
Dh- dallas in Texas
Vo- what for?
The reason for the application is not enough, thats why they refused him. His Visa should have been approved if he had applied earlier before u gave birth and give them the reason Like " To witness the birth of my twins and help my wife as well" and when they gave him Visa, then he can choose to travel whenever he wants. The Visa Officer has seen that he has no help to offer u in the US since you have delivered your babies gathered their documents and ready to come back to Nig,only for him to apply now with the reason to help you bring your babies back,. So they deemed his reason not sufficient enough, because they know u can always find a way to bring back your babies. You guys have been reading this forum but did a different thing from how others did theirs. Do as "Shrekandfiona" Or "Ogemele"said, thats the two options you have now. Pls Stop giving yourself hbp on problems that have a straight simple solution,. Goodluck.

My mum applied since the 24th April and still nothing
I called for escalation 3 weeks ago. I was told someone will contact her within 15 working days.
Tomorrow will make the 16th working day

I will call them again with £1.37
Imagine??
Its so terrible,Because there is still no Visa guarantee for the long wait until u get back your passport. My wife wanted to reapply after they refused her Last time but she needs her passport to travel to the US in October 24 for her Nephew wedding,.But Because of these delays,She is afraid that they will seize her passport for 3 months in the name of Visa issuance till her traveling date & the wedding date elapses,Lol. This UK Visa people are so incompetent in their Visa processing. US & Schengen Visas are more efficient and effective.

Hello everyone hope we all had a nice day. Please I have a question. My husband and child applied for a visit visa since June 14th to attend my graduation in UK which has passed until now no notification from UKVI. Now we want to withdraw the application because we need the passports for other important things but don't know how to go about it. Have tried contacting the home office of which they requested their information for it to be escalated yet nothing. Does anyone know the fastest way one can withdraw applications and have the passports returned immediately without calling or sending emails to home office? Because I have done all that and it yielded no result.
Its so annoying,But i will advice u to wait for them since u have waited for so long.

I doubt if u actually read d main story. I don't really know what u mean by over confidence here after I said All including d cover letter u mentioned including receipts or sales and purchases. I never said anyone rely on previous application I never said dat was taken for granted and some document was left out. But in wat u wrote here u still said one should talk on previous visa are u not contradicting ur stand here. U dint point out d silly mistake u noticed how do I understand u here.
I told u that u didn't make any mistakes,.Dont they know that we are Nigerians who engages in family registered businesses and can earn a lot of money from our shops on everyday trading. How do you explain every penny being paid into your account on daily basis by your customers to ECO? Its like they in Sheffield don't understand how our system works here. Other Schengen embassies are not this way, they know that Nigerians are business people not workers, how many people has jobs in Nigeria? All you hear from all these ECO is payslip this, payslip that,as if everyone is working in Nigeria. We are business people,we make our money by ourselves from our personal businesses, U tell them that u own your business with evidences(documents) and they still ask u to explain how money was paid into your account or how much salary u receive,How do i pay myself salary, from my own money? This people should stop refusing legitimate travelers visas for just no reasons. UK is not Heaven,Lol, Its not fair at all.

U have said it all,the ECO just drank Ogogoro,Lol. he/she is not in his normal senses. because this their last episode of "I am not sure u will leave UK after your visit" is just laughable, because how can someone that have used your 2 visas in last 3 years and still has a valid visa as at the time of submission for renewal not leave UK after his visit? if he has intention of living in the UK,why is he waiting for so long to do that or why didn't he use his remaining last visa to run away instead of submitting it for renewal,.Lol. its just not fair.

U also said rules might have changed I wonder what rule that could be so dat one avoid d error again .d same process and documents used in previous application d VO issue now is d money are they saying its a crime to make progress. I believe d VO forgot it's a one man bizness and no pay slip. In short d VO means previous visa was a mistake?
Thats what i can't understand.if u dont have sufficient funds, they deny u for that,if u have sufficient funds they say u couldn't explain the origin of money,. Just imagine after using 2 visas in 3 years, suddenly they dont believe u will leave UK after your visit,.If u wanted to run away since, u must have done that longtime ago with those previous visas or u must have used your remaining duration on your last visa and run away before it expires in end of May. My dear u didn't do anything wrong since this is the way u Obtained your previous 2 visas. Its just that the ECO that handled your application is wicked and don't want to give u,simple as that. U might reapply now and another ECO might give u back your visa.

Real life story, I had a friend sponsored by someone in government in naija for UK and US Visa and guess what she Got it.
it is all about packaging of the visa application and how convincing it is
You are very correct, this people are just doing whatever they like. What about my wife that has used 6 Schengen visas since 2009 and the last one expired just last year, And has used 2 US visas with the last one still valid till end of next year,. Even her last travel was last january to the US but they still refused her visa for church conference in the Uk,on the ground that she didnt fill how much was her salary,& because of that they didnt believe she will return to Nigeria after her visit,. When she has a very good personal statement of account with a good inflow/outflow as well as a balance of up to 4mil,.because we always use her personal account for all our businesses. But u will still see them give visas to people with virgin passports, little amount in Account, and people without any traveling records. So u are very correct & i agree that everyone stands a chance of getting visas depending on the ECO that handles your case.

@Austin2020,yeah,the baby is entitled to six months visa by virtue of being an American citizen but before the expiration of the six months visa, the baby needs to apply for Uk visa under the category which I presume is Tier 2 that the child's parents are on.Upon entry in Uk,the baby can stay for six months without visa but before the 6 months visa expires,he/she needs to get a visa in UK in the category which the parents are otherwise the child would be staying illegally.

Its expensive to deliver in US but then if the parents can afford it then they should go for it atleast the child would have dual citizenship.
Alright, i understand you very well now. Because the child will be staying for more than 6months in the UK with the parents.

Advisory:

Remember we aren't talking about visiting visas unless if you saying the baby can be returning every six months from America to visit the parents in uk. They will have to apply for a visa for the baby if delivered in US so that the kid can be in the uk beyond the six months. But if delivered in the UK baby won't need visa if you guys aren't travelling during the 5 years.
Ok, i can understand u better now.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Austine2020: 5:07pm On Jul 17, 2017
Advisory:

Why the US?
If you going to the UK on tier 2, in five years the kid will be British when you become Permanent resident. The hospital Bill will be free for you in the UK on a tier 2 Visa and you will spend lots of money in America.
Your Kid being American does not give him any special right in the UK at all and you will still have to apply for a visa for him. Double cost
But in the UK it is free NHS for delivery and if you do not have any plans of leaving the country for the next 5 years, you will not need to apply for a visa for your baby provided you deliver in the UK.
But if you end up delivering in the US, you will need to apply for a VISA for the baby. But my advise is do your VISA now and do the baby's when he/she arrives.
NOTE: Child care in UK is expensive as per Nursery school 46-53 pounds per day. So you need all the money you can save.
Its not true, if the baby is born in the USA, the baby automatically becomes a US Citizen, therefore the Baby doesn't need a UK visa to visit Uk. Infact U have 6months duration of stay anytime u visit the UK once u are a US Citizen.

Your case is taking too long and Difficult, since the embassy said your passport is not with them, then there must be a mistake somewhere,. I will suggest that in your next UK visa application, if the kids are in school you can also get a letter from the school stating that they are students there and are permitted to go on a vacation with their parents to return to their studies at a certain date. Note that this will be more effective if the school is on vacation.

Ok, noted.thanks
