Hi peeps, am presently in houston and my stanbic ibtc card I use for swiping and POS was hacked . I was surprised wen I got alert from Zara shop in atlanta. The total money is almost 110k. I ve contacted d bank and dy are undergoing investigation.
Pls peeps, be careful with cards ohhhhh. Just want to share my experience.

I wish all of us the best.
Sorry about the bad experience. But for me i dont see it as good idea to use your nig bank cards in the US because of hackers,Although it might be safe & good for security reasons but the risk is too high concerning this hacking thing. because this kind of a thing has happened to my in-law who is a US citizen with his US Credit card that he uses to operate his US bank accout,They still hacked it & made a lot of purchases with his credit card details.not to talk of we nigerians that use our Nig cards in the US. The only reason he has a case with the bank was that the so called time & dates the purchases were made he was at work in his office in Houston because he works in muti national company, while the purchases were made in Alaska & Oklahoma. So i normally prefer to give my wife Cash anytime she travels abroad, she has never used her bank card abroad.

@FAVOUREDGAL, She can still renew via dropbox, At worst they will call her for interview to explain & show her payment receipts. To say the truth at the embassy is good But remember she said that she doesnt know about this forum then,& since she doesnt know about this forum, that means she probably didnt go there with any burden of proof, which means she should have been denied if she had said truth about her pregnancy.I think she can send an email to the embassy for intent change, then arm herself with all the POE documents with a huge cash & then take a favourable easy POE like Olokings said & finally back it Up with serious prayer. She will be fine & all will end in praise for her. U are good to go,so far u have used your visa for the purpose it was given to u,then u can go for Child birth on your 2nd travelling, because u were not pregnant when u got the Visa & u have used it for the particular purpose it was given to U. Just arm yourself with necessary document for POE & Have enough money with U,then everything will be fine by the Grace of God.So when they ask u on your first visit,u tell them that u are not there for Childbirth which is true, but On your 2nd travel when u must have been loaded,if they ask U,then u tell them that u havent decided to give birth in the US during the time of your interview,& that u decided to have your baby in the US after your last visit to US.

Hello Everyone,I am a silent reader of this wonderful forum and I have learnt a lot so far. Please I need advice from those who had similar experience . I got my b1-b2 visa this year I wasn't pregnant. At the interview, the VO asked me if I will be using any medical care and I answered NO because I wasn't pregnant. I plan to use the visa for vacation and return before conceiving. But I want to know the response (or necessary steps to take) to give the CBP Officers at POE when eventually travelling for childbirth If the question about me not using any medical care in the US comes up.

I agree, but I guess they were also pretty confident since they were frequent US visitors.

Still unfortunatE sha, last last, the CBP could'vE stamped them in for a few wks for the holiday to rule out staying for childbirth. At least 18k is more than enough for a holiday.

U got it right, their cash is ok,after all some people pass through POE with even 2k for birthing, some people were not even asked how much they have & still scaled through the POE.may be they didnt talk to the CBP in a right way ,having the confidence that they are frequent travellers. But My own is that they are big in numbers & without any positive documents concerning the pregnancy,Thereby raising suspicion of not going back to Nig after everything.Even the letter of intent change or budget sheet should have saved them in this situation.

She couldn't have left the kids na, it's a yearly tradition for them to go on family vacations. They always travelled together o. And she works in one of the biggest oil coy in Naija.

Just that this time around, after their usual 2-3 weeks vacation, she'll stay back to deliver while the family returns to Naija.

She even told the Cbd that if she was the problem, she was ready to go back alone while her kids n hubby enjoy their vacation but they didn't agree o. They cancelled all their visas
Nawao! this one pass me ooo. Thats why i told u that CBP officer thought that they wont go back to Nig after their holiday or after the delivery. If not,How can he be so wicked & heartless to cancel the visa of the husband with that of their kids that doesnt do anything to him. This journey to "heaven" must be backed up with Ebube muonso prayers ooo.

A friend and her family of 5 were recently turned back at Chicago POE. She is a frequent US traveller, they all go on yearly vacation 8 years counting, has children but they were all born here in Naija.

This is her last kid and they decided to birth this one in the US. I wasn't aware she was travelling if not would have referred her to this thread though I travelled before her.
Thats pure wickedness for the CBP officer to cancel all their family visas. I think in my own opinion that the officer thought that since all of the family are travelling together with 18kusd & without any doctors correspondence, that they will not return back to NIG again. She should have left the kids at home as her strong ties and travel with her husband alone for birthing.

Real scam, he is the worst governor lagos has ever had. Just look at the state of lagos roads,no major road in lagos is good, especially worst in the rainy season & this same fashola wants to be a minister again to continue looting from where he stopped.I have said it that i can never agree with this fight for corruption unless people like Fashola,Amechi plus other prominent looters who hide themselves under the umbrella of APC are also brought to book to face their corruption charges.Shmm

After two visa refusals; one each for my DW and I when we went together, and then another for her when she went alone, we finally got our visas approved today in Abuja during the 10:15 am appointment by the gentleman on window 9.

The first interview was before we came across this beautiful thread on NL. In fact, after that first refusal and upon discovering this thread, my DW and I were quite glad we were refused because the horror of getting turned back at POE because you didn't declare you were pregnant terrif.
God is good. There is nothing like "never give up", after 3 denials u & your wife still have the desire for the 4th and got it. To God be the Glory.

very strange! he will return 11bn if elected. what if he lose the election, will he still return the money? why cant he return it now before the election,if he is sincere?since the money is intact waiting for him to be elected before he could return it. That means the man is already a thief. APC wants the people return a thief as a GOV,so that he can continue to steal. What moral justification does he have to be the GOV of that state again?Corrupt APC!

We are not arguing, because u might be correct.we are trying to know the right thing, because i saw it there when i wanted to book it last week,u will see a bag logo writing 1 inside the logo. Did u fly United via Houston with lufthansa ticket? not flying Lufthansa via Frankfurt with United ticket, i just want to clarify this. I even checked it now through my computer & its still 1 bag of 23kg. Just click lufthansa.com & fill your US city & the day U want to travel, u will see different flights of lufthansa and one flight of United, click that united flight On Economy basic ticket, not economy basic plus & see how many bags it will give u.
firsttymum:
I can't even start arguing with baggage allowance saga.

I flew lufthansa with a United ticket and I had 2 boxes. so when u say make enquiries I'm like really?...
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Austine2020: 7:56pm On Sep 29, 2015
Lufthansa is 2 bags of 23kg when u book or bought Lufthansa ticket through lufthansa website and then fly with Lufthansa through fankfurt to your destination in the US. But when u book or bought your United airline ticket through Lufthansa website, then fly United direct to Houston & then to your destination in the US, u will only have 1 bag of 23kg. So make your enquiries very well
firsttymum:
that's not true. Lufthansa is 2 bags 23kg each.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Austine2020: 7:21pm On Sep 29, 2015
If u or your traveling agent book or bought your United airline ticket through Lufthansa website, then its 1 bag of 23kg but if u or your traveling agent book or bought your United airline ticket through United airlines website direct, then its 2 bags of 23kg,my wife has used it before. They do it like that because buying their ticket through Lufthansa website is more cheaper than buying it through United website direct. This same thing happened to me last week when i wanted to buy a united ticket through lufthansa website because its cheaper there for my wife to travel to seattle next week but not for birth purposes, just for holiday,i found out that it was cheaper but the baggage allowance is 1 bag of 23kg,so i now opted for BA which is also okay to Seattle with 2 bags of 23kg. So better try & get to them to avoid unnecessary disappointment on the day of your travel.
julzz:
Please guys, for those that have travelled with united airline is their baggage allowance really 2 bags 23 kg each? That's what their website says, tried contacting them to confirm but to no avail. Really need to know as I'm leaving on Thursday and don't want to surprised when I get to the airport, thanks.

sweetorgasms:
brother what can i say? well there is nothing u can do abt it, how do u know she was a virgin when uve not slept with her? d truth is that she was never a virgin, now this is one of d reason why a guy should not date a girl 4rm a poverty stricken family, bcaus when a richer guy comes the parents will give her hand in marriage to d richer guy and that is what has just happened to you, bcaus her dad must have been aware about her new marriage bcaus u use to send money through his bank account to her, so bro there is nothing u can do, just take heart and stand up like the man that u are and move on, showing weakness will be giving ur enemy a chance over u, learn ur lesson and move on with ur life, thank GOD that u even get to c her other side, what if after marriage and child birth, she then left u 4 anoda man? so take it as a blessing and move on, GOD will give you a better, more beautiful and GOD fearing lady. @Bbsy
See I don't use to give soft advice so apologies before hand.
1st issue. U lied during your interview. Why?
2nd issue. You were pregnant when u got the visa. U didn't mention if you were asked. I can safely assume they didn't cos of the ist issue.
3rd issue. U sent a notification of change of intent withou stating the intent. U think say them be mumu? Who have u seen sending a vague 'change of intent mail'? The cbp looking at your mail will laugh and decipher that u wanted to pull one over their eyes.
My advice? Send a proper mail and sort out the mess created cos e go better for u than to spend above 300k to be insulted, kept in a holding room and deported with belle. Come clean now now now and then even after that pick a nice poe (won't mention one now make dem no de dere to waylay u cheesy )
Congrats on the belle mbok
I wonder why she sent an Email to CBP in the US while others are sending their intent change Emails to US Embassy in NIG to get the normal reply?.May be because of the mistakes she made when obtaining the Visa. Had it been that she has used the Visa for vacation first before now,it should have been better. As for me,it is too risky to start sending Intent change Email to the US emabssy in Nig,rather let her travel like that, but she must arm her self with All required Documents as she can read from this forum, May be she can make some deposits to the hospital in the US,Good amount money & be ready to defend her self with her mouth incase of any eventuality.

Nawao,So its Even difficult when going out from Chicago? what if u were charged a heavy bill & u discuss a deal with the hospital or Your doctor that u will pay your remaining balance from naija, and this happened? The big Lesson is that it is better to finish all the payment in the US if u can, so that one doesnt fall victim to this kind of wahala on your departure day .
