QUEENBIZ:Anyway u can try your luck and travel, then lets see how it goes. The mail u sent to them makes me think otherwise. Its just dicey, because when the same thing happened to a sister here, she didnt call or mail the embassy and she didnt book for appointment too, since her visa was still valid, she was advised here to travel immediately,.which she did and her journey was successful till the end. So for me i think u can give it a try, back it up with prayer and God will do the rest for U. U should have jejely travel alone and give birth to your baby without all these "my husband will join me" later things, U did the first alone,u should have done the second alone too,to avoid all these kind of problems. I have never been to the US for the first time but my wife has been travelling to the USA since 2014 with my kids, but i have never been there,Am not interested until she finishes all her missionary journey. I might apply now, they might think we are running away and problem comes with her own visa, these VO's are just unpredictable. 4 Likes |

QUEENBIZ:This kind of a thing happened to a sister here on Nairaland and she was advised to travel immediately and she did and succeeded in entering US and gave birth too, and even succeeded in renewing her visa later after some hassles with the embassy. Your problem is that had it been that u read through the past parts of this thread your husband shouldnt have gone for the second interview at all with the experience some people have here. And u should have asked people for advice here and shouldnt have mail the embassy or booking appointment for clarification. And with these now they have open a case file for your case,if am not mistaken. Just wait for your appointment, wishing u good luck. |

Swisstk:It depends on choice, or what u want to use for your child & also the area u gave birth determines what u will use as well, because some people gave birth in atlanta & new york where our embassy is & some in cities near our embassy . meanwhile this visa on arrival was newly explored by Desoul and some people here. |

kemex:Sorry about the Denial, paying your bills upfront is not a guarantee to Visa issuance. Thats why its better to get your visa first before making payments to your Dr or Hospital to avoid this kind of stress to return your money. But can't u reapply immediately like "Freshdad" did? |

missieytea:U should have waited until u get your visa before paying those bills in full, but all the same it might help your application in a way. Then to your questions.(1) Since your husband is the sponsor, his statement of account is the most important and u can add yours too if u are earning some salaries or if have some money in your account as well,it will add weight to the money u prepared to spend on your Childbirth trip. (2) Both dates are supposed to tally together,at least for the success of your interview first, then its not a must that u will stay in the hotel.(3) Its a problem, because they always want to see that u are fully prepared for your trip both financially and otherwise to convince them. Atleast since u have paid your Hospital bills in full, make sure that U and your husband have atleast a reasonable amount in your Bank accounts, It might not be that big, then u can start to explain the rest to the VO that u will be ready with the rest before your departure date. Not going there with empty Bank statement of account and tell the VO stories. US visas is all about what VO sees with u there and not something that they didnt see or know if they exist or not. cisco123:U have to select CHILD so far your LO will turn 2yrs before your arrival. if u dont select CHILD u will be asked to pay the balance before your arrival,.but they must see it when u will fill the date of birth of your LO in the ticket. It has happened to me in 2014 with my daughter. I just brought down their arrival date by one week, to make them come back before she is 2yrs. 1 Like |

muyiwaojo1:No,its just a normal passport with 64 pages, thats all and nothing more. No immigration officer will even ask u anything about that at the POE because its the same thing with the 32 pages, just the pages is the only difference. So she is good to go. 1 Like |

nefertitiram:Everyone is enjoying their Christmas Holiday, attending functions. So its very few people that have time for Nairaland. But after the holiday u will see people once again travelling and attending embassy appointments, then they can have some new stories to write. My opinion though! |

nefertitiram:Instead of Night bus,she should forget her visa money and pay another one, then book for another appointment because its better be late than the Late. Its just too risky to travel by road at night to North these days and the road is very far. Life is precious,She can always replace the money she lost but cant replace her life if she lose it. Goodluck to her. 11 Likes |

cisco123:I believe the 375 is ok, but what matters most is the weight of your Bank statement, because they dont care how u source your Dollars. So which ever rate u want to use, make sure that your bank statements is very ok with a good inflow/outlow,and an after balance of good amount that can cover what u have on your budget sheet and other expenses also. Goodluck. 2 Likes |

nefertitiram:Thats Exactly what i mean, these VO's are totally different the way they see things. I didnt see any mistake she made or any reason for the denial, because everything was going well with the interview before the VO just decided to deny her the Visa. She should still reapply alone and i believe another VO will grant her the Visa. 1 Like |

Swisstk:Thats correct. I always tell people that what works for one might not work for another. These VO's are different people with different ideas, thinking and understanding. One VO might deny your application while another VO will give you a visa when u reapply. People shouldn't be afraid to reapply, because those VO's see things differently, just do your homework well and all will be fine. Goodluck to everyone!! 1 Like |

ajobi21:No, u just get them the Exact documents they requested. If they need your receipts or want to know how u gave birth, then they will call u for interview,it is that time that u can go to the Embassy with all the receipts & documents that u may need to support your application. |

MamaP003:She was asked why she said that she will stay 2weeks and stayed 2months, also what was she doing in the US for 2months leaving her job & Family. And if she gave birth in the US. She answered that she didnt give birth in the US and she was enjoying her Holiday travelling from one city to another since they stamped her in for 6months,also that she has used the visa for vacation again & stayed 3weeks. But she was denied. And i was so angry, but she reapplied and another VO gave her the VISA back and told her that its not offence to stay for 2months in the US since she was stamped in for 6months,but they wanted to know what she was doing in the US for that Long. In your own case, if you had told the VO that u notified the Embassy via Email of your intention to use the visa for Childbirth, with the print out of the Email evidence to show for it,that could have made a very big difference. because thats where the VO anger comes from & thats why u were called for the interview in the first place to know why u were given a visa for vacation but u never used it for vacation rather u used it for childbirth. Just reapply, another VO will give u back your visa and might not see anything wrong in your case. The VO's are different in everything,.so reapply u will be fine.its normal. 3 Likes 1 Share |

chibertha:yes, change of intent letter would have made a difference if she had mentioned it to the VO.because she is not the first person to get their visa for vacation but used it for only childbirth. Infact a lot of people has done the same and renew their visas through Dropbox successfully without being called for interview. I have seen here someone that was refused renewal because the VO thought the bill she paid for her Child delivery is too small, while some mothers that used thesame hospital with the same bill still renew Visa through Drop box without being called for interview. So she just have to reapply and she will fine, Goodluck to her. 4 Likes |
