Chibuking81: In stock market many things are possible. Price can reverse back faster just with a little news. Poor result can do that, some companies in NSE seriously Cook their q1,2, and 3. But when it come to quarter 4 their cooking gas will finish. They will thereby pay poor dividend, only to speed off in the next q1.
I always maintain that stocks in NSE that will release a good result usually not rally as others do, and most that will perform poorly usually move with a high speed, and that needed smart jijo trader to outsmart them.
Because once their poor result comes out, all doors will be shut down, with millions of offer, without bid. Then the traders will give out all that they have ate. Gbam. Anything is possible in this market. Prices can still go plus or minus 25% EASILY. |

2019 seems to have been the year of special situations (mergers and acquisitions). Money was made chiefly from deals. Anyone who manged to play just 2 of these right was made for the year.
1. Access-Diamond merger 2. Dangote flour take-over 3. CCNN-BUA cement merger 4. UACN unbundling 5. Lafarge restructruing 6. Continental Re take-over
It seems it is mainly mergers and acquisitions and deals, more than fundamentals that drives gains.
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST WHAT MIGHT BE THE TOP DEALS GOING FORWARD INTO THIS YEAR? |

15th May 2019, NSE All Share Index = 28,286
22nd May 2019, NSE All Share Index = 31,145
Gain in one week: 10% similar to what we are seeing now.
The market slowly but surely gave up its gains. That sounds like a pump and distribute to me.
People rushed in in their numbers, people sold other assets to key-in.... Increased and new monikers started viewing this thread.... A lot of PM messages started going to the respected members of this forum.... This thread started growing very fast in pages as is the case now. Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) went into full swing.
fast forward to:
2nd Aug 2019, NSE All share index =27,630....11% loss from the high. The market had slowly but surely given up all the gains it got in one week.
Newbies started saying...You see, this market is a fraud. I knew it! I'm out!
People should just be careful. The key thing is to not be caught holding the short end of the stick. |

Abeg for those of us in SEPLAT, how are we going to get price appreciation with this new NSE rule which requires that a stock will move only if a trade of 100,000 shares is done?
That means, given SEPLAT's price of about N550, only a single trade of more than N550 * 100,000= N55m can move the price!
Given the fact that the stock is relatively thinly traded, N55m in a single trade is hard to come by. it means the price is stuck at the present point.
Have we been trapped by the rules? |

onegentleguy: With the just released H1 2019 result from ACCESS BANK(which majorly inculcated the risk-adjusted impact of asset deterioration from the merger with diamond), it will be BEST to seriously consider having ACCESS in ones investment portfolio now.(if u are yet to do that)
At 1st glance, the H1 financial print shows an all-touching boost accross all revenue and earnings line with a pointer to margins growing at a faster rate than EM at the back of an improving AsQ and AsY.
One thing that impresses me, is the current ACCRUALS RATIO(an analytical tool that aims to gauge the persistence and sustainability of a coys earnings setting aside the risk of a possible manipulation). ...which is especially useful for companies that have just expanded, following from an organic/inorganic growth or have merged/acquired an asset with a perceived low quality. With ACCESS, current accruals ratio(both from a cashflow and balance sheet perspective) is HEALTHY.
Other KEY financial indicators also paints of a grossly underpriced asset. Raking off all feasible risk and assuming zero growth to YE, I have a FVE of N15.7 for ACCESS. ...and quite frankly, that would be me been extremely cautious with valuation.
The same can also be said of fellow 1st tier peers, UBA and ZENITH. ...and tier 2 fellows FCMB and FIDELITY.
CAVEAT: This is no license to any sought of recommendation. ...due diligence should still remain ur 1st priority. My advise: Pls kindly follow ur instinct. Oga which companies are your best from the Accruals ratio perspective? I'm tired of reading manipulative earnings reports. |

onegentleguy: Unless there is a very urgent need for fund, I will hold with UNSHAKABLE confidence if I were u. ...I wouldn't panic at all !!
I also want to believe the said price u bought is exclusive of the 25k FY 2018 dividend payout. ...given that the stock traded @ that price before the ex-dividend date. So ur actual EP should be approx N2.70 raking off the dividend. But even if that's not the case, I will still HOLD. That's just me though.
My advise: Pls follow ur instinct. Thanks. You're right. I bought before the dividend... That's effectively N2.70 entry price. Afraid dey catch me whether some folks are wary of some contract cancellation somewhere and are selling off in advance. NSE just dey weak person at times. |

That's not what happened. Read Madiebo's book to get the actual story.
The armoured vehicle was a torn in the flesh of the Biafrans. And the had only one round of anti tank available to them. Ordinary bullets could not penetrate.
Corporal Nwafor took the one round available and aimed at the while a lot soldiers around him fell on their knees in prayers because if he missed, the battle was lost.
He fired at the tank and was able to immobilize it.
Corporal Nwafor himself was killed in the Biafran effort to capture the immobilized tank.
The tank was then named after him for his heroic deeds in that battle and the other battles before. |
