Waste of vote. Tinubu is controlling dem

And thoughts like this is why you will never be able to break free from the oligarchs ruining the country.

Sowore comes through - Oh he is a tinubu orchin

Falana comes through - he is controlled by tinubu.

But you'd rather go vote for the bastards in APC and PDP that have ruined Nigeria

Any party that has falana as a spearhead has my attention. You have to be the biggest slowpoke in the world to keep voting APC or PDP and expecting to have any semblance of good government.

Falana has consistently shown to be on the side of masses and I trust him WAY more than I do any of leeches in APC and PDP.

Politics / Re: Why Banning Fossil Fuel Investments Would Crush Africa By Yemi Osinbajo by austinvsb: 1:53pm On Aug 31, 2021
GenAbacha:

Same western countries that are being ravaged with natural disasters due to global warming caused by same over exploitation and poisoning from the use of fossil fuels?

The west had been developed for more than a thousand years before colonialism, why didn’t we continue doing things they had done a thousand years ago? Why did we continue where we met them?

You want to compete on a global scale then you have to think ahead. Nothing stops us from innovating and breaking new grounds in the use of green, renewable sources of energy to drive heavy industry.

They want to continue their over dependence on fossil fuels because it’s the best and convenient excuse for their lack of research, research funding, innovation, stagnation from the so called religion of peace and future planning.

Some countries don’t have oil but they have left us behind.

Let common sense be common sense.

The west had been developed for more than a thousand years before colonialism....

I stopped reading here. You obviously are not as intelligent as you try to sound.

Have a good day

GenAbacha:
What sort of regressive thinking is this?

If you took your time to read and understand, you'd realize that there is a Lot of sense in it. The Western countries destroyed the planet with overexploitation and overconsumption but are asking you to not exploit oil and Gas for industrialization.

This will stagnate growth for Africa because transition to green energy for industrial needs (not your everyday household needs) is AT LEAST a 100 years away but the west wants Africa to stop now while they have peaked at their industrialization at the expense of Africa!

I hate this government as much as the next sane Person but common sense is common sense

Here is an excerpt from the article that drives home this point better:

Efforts to restrict fossil fuel investments in Africa are even harder to stomach because many of the wealthy countries behind them—including Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—include natural gas in their own multidecade plans to transition to clean energy. Belgium, for example, has doubled its gas use since 1990 and has plans to build even more gas-to-power capacity in the coming years. Germany insists on burning coal until at least 2038 and is building the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to secure its own energy security.

Education / Re: Cut-Off Marks Into Unity Schools: 134 For South-East, Anambra 139, 2 For Zamfara by austinvsb: 8:39am On Jul 06, 2021
aribisala0:
I have said this a million times and I will repeat it again
It is disappointing to see people who claim to be educated, claim to be university graduates come out and misrepresent statistics.

The cut off point in common entrance exams do no mean what they are being purported to mean.

The state with the highest cut off is not the best performing state and neither is the state with the lowest cut off the worst performing.

I will repeat that for emphasis

The state with the highest cut off is not the best performing state and neither is the state with the lowest cut off the worst performing.

That will take some time to digest for those who have an agenda to pursue but that is the reality?
What those scores reflect is simply demand and supply.
The states with the highest cut off are the states with the highest demand. The greatest number of candidates.
The cut off mark for German candidates will be Zero because there are no German candidates. If the FG reserves 5 slots for Germany and only 1 German takes the exam guess what the cut off would be?

Common Entrance scores do not tell us that Group A is brilliant or group B is dull as many want to project

Anyone who does not grasp this fundamental is as dull as those they are trying to mock

There may be injustice somewhere but it is not in the scores. It may be in the number of states or the attributed population.
So e.g. if tomorrow the SE is given 5 more states and NOTHING ELSE changes ceteris paribus, the cut off for those states would drop very significantly

The facts should be use to make the right argument
Secondary school provision is not the place of the FG. Unity schools are created for a purpose of "unity" and if they are no longer required the funding would have to be distributed to the states. Unity schools must have a quota system and if we don't want that they should be scrapped

And this one too will think he has a functioning brain

You tried to hard. This is why ignorant folks like you fall into trouble. No colonialism began forcefully. Go and do your digging. When the whites touched the shores of Africa, they didn't begin shooting. They offered incentives, brought mirrors, offered gifts, what became the end?

Your forefathers ended up at the mill in the aftermath of the trickery

I won't stop here. Go and do your research, Eastern Africa that use their national infrastructures as credit guarantee to seek loans from China, one by one are losing ownership to China.

I know quality education maybe costly, but some Internet research won't cost you more than some data. You schmuck. Woe betide your fada for having the nerve. You stupid ignorant entity.

While your woeful and abysmal attempt at sounding intelligent had little sparks here and there, your relationship with China is much of a dependent one, inability to stand alone and be productive which is always the launching pad into " willfull slavery " I will educate you for free. Nigerians buying Chinese goods isn't about trade partnership entirely but an economic dependency upon China which is why the average Nigerian businessman would die to go to China to import.

China produces in order to produce, not produce because of Nigeria. Nigeria on the other hand because of its parasitic dependency seeks China by all means which can be weaponised to become a slavery tool

I'm not done, you halfwit

If China were your partners, how many litres of crude oil does China buys from you, my dear partner.? Do do your digging. China and Russia entered Bilateral trade deals of over 100 Billion dollars within the last 3 years.

Please let me know if besides offering exhoorbitant loans that requires their company to handle the project development to the detriment of your own nations intellect, of what benefit are you to China, symbiotically, to call yourself a partner. Ode

Quote me anywhere you see China buy 25 litres of fuel from your backyard. Oponu

I can't even begin to phantom how anyone can put together such nonsense with so much confidence! Goddamn! Indulging in back and forth with someone as uninformed as yourself is a complete waste of mental strength and I refuse to do that. You have the the luxury of endless information at your fingertips, you can either use it or not. YOUR CHOICE

If minds such as yours represent the leaders of tomorrow, Nigeria is doomed! Thankfully we have more brilliant and saner minds both in and outside the country, so I am hopeful

Y'all soon become Chinese angry

While they may not be perfect (No country is), China has been Africa's best economic partner and friend in over 500 years.

And no you are not becoming Chinese anytime soon. Why? Because unlike your colonial masters that imposed both religion and a way of life on africans while looting the continent dry, china isn't trying to force their lifestyles on anyone.

Read and inform yourself rather than indulge in petty soundbites that are rooted in ignorance
