Donmichaelz: As we all know, most parents in African countries especially Nigeria give children names with deep spiritual meanings e.g Oluwaseun, Chukwuemeka, Olusegun, Godswill, ThankGod etc cos they believe these names will impact positively or negatively on the child's life. |
confusion247: Let's wait and see if you are saying the truth or deceiving us like others who say one thing and do the opposite.I would not reply to this comment now. This is because I don't want to say something now and my Oga at the top will say something else later. |
Segeggs: Where in the bible does it say christians should celebrate birthdays?mtcheewPLEASE TELL US WHERE IN THE BIBLE THAT SAYS WE SHOULD NOT CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS? THE BIBLE SAYS LORD TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS THAT WE MAY APPLY OUR HEARTS UNTO WISDOM. |
I would like to suggest to you to invest in the ARM Money Market Fund. Please see my post on the fund on the Investment thread. |
The fact that Osaze, Obasi, Taiwo, Nsofor and Apam didn't make it to AFCON 2013 does not mean that they have been written off by Keshi. Even though, Osaze voiced out his displeasure, we didn't hear anything from the others. We may still need their experience someday. Yes we won the cup but we have a left back problem. Elderson did well but there was much to be desired. Juwon when he came in for ELderson in the final was not better. We gave a chance to some other players but they were not fantastic. Ike Uche to my mind has lost form. It's up to the coach to decided the players he wants at any given time. It is wrong to just think that it is all over for people like Osaze who at a point gave his all for Nigeria. |
This Super Eagles team is one that has no passion. At least now, Nigerians understand what Osaze was talking about when he said that leadership was lacking in the team. Yesterday, on Super Sports Oliseh made veiled reference to this fact when he talked about the abundance of leadership qualities amongst the players during his era in the Eagles. There was Keshi, Amokachi, Oliseh, Okechukwu, Rufai and Okocha men with leadership prowess. I recall with nostalgia how Oliseh braved the odds in 2000 when Nigeria was playing against Senegal in the Afcon quarter finals. Oliseh was down with malaria and was not supposed to play the match but he spoke to Bonfrere Jo to let him join the fray. When Captain Oliseh entered the pitch the game changed. He organized the team well and sent a trade mark pass to Julius Aghaowa and that was how we got the equaliser and then went on to defeat a Senagalese team with the likes of Diouf, Henry and Papa. There is presently no visible leader in the team. Echiejile is not Iroha. He plays with only one foot and gets confused whenever the ball gets to his right foot. He can't cross the ball when he goes forward and lacks confidence. Taiye Taiwo is still playing good football, we need him back. Whatever took Ike Uche to Division 2 football should have made Keshi to know that IK Uche is no longer the player we used to know. He is slow and presently totally bereft of ideas when he has the ball in Afcon 2013. Keshi must recall Martins for the world cup qualifier. Ahmed Musa has given us a below average performance in Afcon 2013. I can't remember any descent cross or pull out from the wings from Musa in the three matches played so far in the tournament. He is just all pace and not effective. Mikel Obi is just too slow and wouldn't pass on the ball at the right time. He slowed down all our counter attacks. He is presently the only Super Eagles player that passes the ball accurately from long range. |
I expect a traditional 4-4-2 formation. That was the formation that won us the AFCON in 1994. That traditional Nigerian formation ensures wing play as well as penetration from the middle of the pack. My choice of players would be as follows: .................Enyeama (Goal Keeper) .....Omeruo (right back)....Yobo ........Efe...........Elderson .....Musa...............Mikel.........Onazi.............Moses ..................Emenike............Uche...................... Playing Efe Ambrose at right back will turn out a disaster. Ghana were over confident on account of their good results during the preparatory stages. The offered a cheeky defence yesterday and were punished by DRC. Keshi must not experiment with the defence line tonight. Efe Ambrose is a central defender not a right back. He lacks creative ideas whenever he overlaps from the wings. |
gister3: SuperSports have compiled a list of Nigeria’s 50 greatest football players of all time, the list which includes football greats such as Kanu Nwankwo and Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha is reproduced below. Is Taribo West not one of our greatest players? How many Nigerians played for both AC Milan and Inter Milan. At a point Taribo was regarded as the best defender in the world. How can Taiwo make the list and Taribo West is not on it? |
I have been following Shiloh 2012 and I believe in the ministry of God's servant Bishop David Oyedepo. I also agree that as far as the message of faith is concerned, he is in the fore front worldwide and I stand to be corrected. I believe that he took over from where Kenneth Haggin stopped. The Bible says that the Bearean Jews were more noble than their brethren because they searched the scripture after they must have heard Paul preach. It is on this note that I like us to consider, like brethren, the major focus of Shiloh 2012 which deals on "DOUBLE PORTION." When I saw the theme, my line of thinking was that Shiloh 2012 was going to be a focus on restoration. From my understanding, the focus so far is on the transference of spirit. The theme is centred around Elisha asking Elijah for a double portion of the anointing. Yes, Elisha received the grace that Elijah carried and did nearly double of the miracles that Elijah did. But the vexed question here is, is the double portion anointing a New Testament teaching? In the Old Testament, the spirit of God descended on a few select people and sometimes departed and only returned when God wanted to use them. In the NT, after Christ returned to Heaven, He sent us the Holy Spirit. Every Christian is a Holy Spirit carrier. The spirit of God cannot be measured. It is already in us and we don't need a further anointing to increase our anointing. The Apostles never asked for double portion of the anointing. There was impartation of gifts but not transference of spirits. The apostles asked for boldness but not an increase or double portion anointing. We already have the anointing. We don't need a transfer we need to recognize what we have Paul said to the Ephesians in chapter 1: 18, pray that the eyes of your hearts be enlightened. Paul was saying to them you have the power in you you just need to discover it. The Holy Spirit is available in every believer. We don't need to have a transfer from the spirit of another man. We may be imparted with spiritual gifts via laying on of hands but we can't asked for double measure of the spirit. We already have it! Let's pray for boldness |
This girl acted foolishly. She should have asked for the plane and sell it to one of the pentecostal church pastors and let's see whether MTN would have bought a less than N100m plane. IDIOTS! |
Bishop Emmah Isong is the general overseer of Christian Central Chapel, Calabar. He made some predictions for 2012 in his book Uprooting the Evil Day from Your Calendar. Does any one have confirmation of any of his prophecies with less than 60 days to the end of 2012?
|
Late every year, and as we are going to witness between now and December, we get a lot of prophecies from men of God in Nigeria about the next year. For instance, in late 2011 Bishop Emmah Issong rolled out a number of prophecies for 2012. The man of God later published the prophecies in a book he titled "Taking Out the Evil Day from Your Calendar." Among others, here are some of his predictions for 2012: 1. Nigeria would be kicked out in the second round of football tournaments in 2012 and there would be a dearth of goals. Can anyone confirm this? 2. Jackie Apia should pray this year for her life. Any news on Jackie Apia? 3. There would be lots of rain that would be good for farmers as it would cause a bountiful harvest. 4. A precious stone like mineral like a diamond would be discovered. Is there any news of discovery of minerals in Nigeria? 5. Business men should go into steel business because there would be a lot of profits in that business. Can anyone confirm this please. If you have other predictions by men of God please let's share and know which ones have been fulfilled. At least we would know who to listen to now when they begin rolling out the predictions for 2013. |
Obinoscopy: Training Bond For A Nigerian Bank: An Enslavement Of Our Labour Force? You have already given us the name of the bank. In the body of the bond we see Union Bank Training School. As a lawyer, I know that this kind of bond is repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience. The court will never enforce slavery. If you have been recruited, go ahead and sign the bond and let us see who would come to claim N2m from you should you decide to leave. |
I hope that this post makes it to the front page so that Nigerians can be enlightened on the current rip off going on especially Nigerians who have MTN Phone lines. On Tuesday, July 31, I received a text message informing that the sum of N50 had been deducted from my account for Caller tunez. I was so surprised because the caller tunes I subscribed for was Papa Ayo Caller Tune. I later opted out of it and sent an sms to discontinue when MTN would not renew the Papa Ayo Caller Tune. Sometimes those who call me hear all sorts of music that I would not like to be associated with. Right now what you hear when you call me is an MTN advert. My question is why should I pay N50 from my account just for MTN to advertise to my callers? I will like to advise us to watch out because millions of Naira is made fraudulently daily by MTN and many Nigerians don't bother to know what is happening to their call credit. I wrote a mail to the MTN Customer Care line and a certain Ralph responded. See Excerpts below: Dear Austyn, Thank you for contacting us at MTN CustomerCare. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience experienced. However, checks show your line is active on our Caller Tune service, hence the N50 monthly charges. To deactivate the service, simply send CANCEL to 4100. The service will be deactivated within 24 hours. Thank you for choosing MTN, have a nice day. miteolu: You should have recorded it anyhow. How many people watch SCOAN like you or you want to advertise your master.Hi, I don't want to join issues with anyone. I watched the service live and I can confirm that Prophet TB Joshua actually mentioned this. He said that he had had the vision three days before that Sunday service but he still needed to go back to God for clarity. He says the crash will happen when big wigs are on the same flight. He said people should heed the warning now and he recalled how he warned the nation before the June 3 disaster and no one cared to listen even after he went to the media himself. Let us stop the hypocrisy in Nigeria. If you don't like the man leave him alone. Truth really is that in every age, people always oppose prophets. |
seyenko: Afternoon Docs in the house, please i have a very good friend who has been bed wetting from our days in the boarding house till now. He is very academically sound has worked within the financial service industry in Nigeria and America. Though he is back finally into the country, he is yet to get married, he hardly keeps relationships because of this. We met at our reunion and i know the issue is the singular reason he is not married. Is there any one out there with a solution to this?Ask your guy to visit the prayer line at the Synagogue Church of All Nations. His case is a simple one. Prayers can heal him of that bondage. |
Agimor: There's another plane crash,Please don't repeat this kind of thing again. You can send it in personal messages to your friends but not on a public forum. People are still grieving and mourning their loss. How on earth did this nonesense make it to the front page? |
joesbuba: A Nigerian who is on holiday in South Africa with a valid visa got his passport torn to pieces by a South Africa police out of hatred for Nigerians. This is very serious and must not be taken lightly. I have taken time to read the comments from fellow Nigerians and it seems that many of us don't have regard for our country. Nigeria is still ours and our only country and until we have another country we must protect and defend the interest of our nation. Someone was asking for the passport number. If you look at the torn picture, you can put view at least from one of the torn pages the passport number. I'm surprised that a Nigerian will say that his British passport looks more original and that his Nigerian passport looks fake. The day you commit an offence in England, that day you will know that the British regard you as a Nigerian. All that they will write in the papers is a man of Nigerian origin did so or did that. No policeman has the right to tear a document that belongs to another person let alone a nation. What if the document is required to prove a criminal charge in court? We are waiting to see how the Federal Government and the National Assembly will react to this. |
OAM4J: The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr. Osita Chidoka, said on Wednesday that 100 officials of the commission have been dismissed from the service for corruption. The FRSC used to be corrupt-free in those early days and not anymore. If you want to get them all you need to is to travel from Onitsha towards Owerri. The FRSC men are positioned at the former police check point just at the outskirts of Onitsha town. Before you get to the exact position where the men of the Commission are stationed, you will find a man dressed in mufti. The man in mufti is their "joo man" (the conduit). What happens is that motorist who feel that they may be arrested by the marshals for an offence, will stop at the position where the joo man is and give him N50.00. As soon as this is done, the Marshals who are just up the hill will notice that the joo man has been tipped. He would let the offender to go. There are at least two other FRSC points like this when travelling from Onitsha to Owerri. I got to know this when I boarded a Rivers Transport Company bus from Onitsha to Port Harcourt. Our driver had loaded his vehicle in such a way that he should not be let off the hook by the FRSC men. I saw him stopped at the first point and gave the joo man money and drove past the Marshals and then the same thing happened at another point. I became curious and then I asked the driver questions and he explained that the money he was giving out as "offerings" belonged to the Marshals. |
Delafruita: STAR CHRONOLOGY: The Otedola-Lawan Saga of Bribery over Fuel Subsidy ReportMedicine after death. This afterthought of Facrook will take him no where. The idiot should just own up and beg for the forgiveness of Nigerians. He will get a short prison sentence like DSP ALamiesiegha. Afterall that criminal and ex-con was in church with GEJ last Sunday in Aso Rock chapel. How did Alams get an invite into that chapel? Bad publicity for GEJ. Let me not digress here, back to Facrook. He had better spilled the beans now and name his co-conspirators. There's not point looking for a hiding place. "Wind don blow, fowl yansh don expose!" |
beejaybida: Hi, VicJustice. Quick clarification needed on this "Money Lodgement" issue.i asked you earlier in the enquiries group but the shorthand language you deemed confusing. sorry abt that. My annuals (as stated/broken down in employer letter of intro) is 6 Million made up of salary (180k monthly) and various allowances. On a particular month, we received an allowance into my salary current account which i put into fixed deposit with the same bank so as not to overspend. I ask you, if i liquidate the fixed deposit 2 months to application and the bank credits back into my salary current account (where the funds were taken from initially) with the proceeds, would it still be "Money Lodgement"? kindly note that 1. the trasaction is directly traceable to the account, 2. all my salary and other allowances go thru the account, so there is history of income and expenditure over a long time, 3. i shall attach with application all the fixed deposit certificates given for the period as well as a detailed explanation refering to the bank statement on when the funds were debited by the bank and were credited back too. 4. The funds is good enough to sustain us for the trip as well as have something left for after the trip. Thank you.Your salary is impressive enough to get you a visa especially as you can prove what you have said. I advise that you submit your application with a cover letter. In the cover letter try to explain the source of any "unusual" deposit into your account. With the letter of introduction from your company and your pay slip/detailed breakdown of your income sent to you by your employer e.g. your last promotion letter, you will be home and dry. Entertain no fear. The visa is yours to have. |
acidtalk: Awon ole jakujaku.Farouk Lawan has no immunity even if his colleagues let him go off the hook. He is bound to dace the music. He should reveal other co-conspirators. The truth really is that everyone in that house is a thief waiting to be caught. In the Nigerian parlance, we say "don't be caught." You can imagine that this same Lawan, lied against Patricia Etteh and claimed to be a saint. Everyman surely reaps what he sows. |

If you want to honour Kanu, please give him an honourary doctorate degree. If I were Kanu, I wouldn't even accept this nonsense. |
The newspaper report got it wrong. The accused was not sentenced to death for stealing. Stealing is not a capital offense. The accused was guilty of armed robbery and that was what attracted the punishment. Let's stop all this sensational reporting and distorting of facts. The Vanguard editor/reporter ought to be queried for publication of falsehood. This is annoying. |
I'm interested and I offer N300k. If you are willing to sell, please post a reply or send me a message on 08055349255 |
Please does anyone have an update? |
Please what's the latest on the New Drivers' license as well as the number plates? The last I heard was that the House of Reps directed that the move be suspended. Does any one know whether FRSC has the go ahead now? |
