The car battery is a very important component for keeping the car running smoothly. A weak or dying battery can be one of the most frustrating and embarrassing car problems. It can cause your car to break-down suddenly in traffic. A battery can fail to function for a number of reasons. Just a few specks of a white powdery residue on the battery terminals can prevent your car from starting. On average, car batteries should last between 2 to 6 years, but like most car parts, that all depends on how you treat it. However, the best way to help prevent your battery from unexpectedly dying is to make sure it is always in good shape. Here are 10 tips on how to maintain your car battery and give them extended operational life. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/battery-maintainance-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 During Idle State, Don’t Use Your Car's Electronics Using your car's electronics features such as radio or air-conditioners when your car engine is not running can weaken your car battery power. Frequently turning on the car's electronics when the car is idling can damage the battery. Using electronics in the car while the engine is not on is the quickest route to a dead battery. Of course, a battery can maintain a charge while the engine is on, but once it's off electronics draw directly from the battery. Turn Off All the Lights When You Exit the Car Forgetting to turn off your car headlights or any other light in your car can have an adverse effect on your car battery. Leaving the headlights on when the car engine is not running will drain a significant amount of the battery's charge. Depending on how long the headlights stay on, you might return to a vehicle with a battery that is too weak to power up the engine. When this happens frequently, permanent damage to the battery can occur. Ensure To Go On Long Rides Using your car only for short-distance trips can prevent your car battery from fully charging. Frequently driving long distances keeps your battery fully charged and healthy. In case you do not use your car often, it is advised that you buy a portable car battery charger. This is necessary in case your battery runs down from staying idle for long. With a portable car battery charger, you can jump-start your battery without another vehicle’s battery. Check for Electrical Leaks If you notice that your car is hard to start one morning, and you are sure that you did not leave the headlights, any other light or electronics on, there may be a drain somewhere in the system. Find and fix the source of the drain. Doing this on time will ensure that your battery does not drain repeatedly, which can lead to permanent damage to the battery. Minimize And Control Dirt and Corrosion Over time, your car battery heads and terminals will corrode. To ensure extended battery life, always keep the terminals clean. Clean your battery by removing the clamps and wipe away the grease, dirt, and oxidation. A good way to keep them clean is to scrub them with a toothbrush dipped in a baking soda and water mixture. Then, using a spray bottle with cold water, rinse the mixture off and follow up with a thorough drying with a clean cloth. A dirty battery connection will weaken the charge. Clean the battery terminals at least every 4 to 6 months. Keep Your Battery Tightly Fastened A car battery can be damaged if the battery connection is loose or not tight. A battery that is not well fastened could vibrate, potentially resulting in internal damage and short circuits. Make sure you check your battery regularly and ensure the connection is tight and the battery properly positioned in the mounting bracket. This is necessary especially if you frequently drive on bumpy roads or roads with many potholes. Avoid Situations Where your Battery Drains Completely Constant complete draining of the battery can lead to permanent damage. To avoid draining your battery to the point of damaging it is to perform regular care and maintenance. Multiple discharge/recharge cycles shorten any battery's life. Avoid Situations Where Your Battery Water Level Goes Low In wet-cell batteries, when the water level in a battery is low it is because water has been lost from the electrolyte and it becomes more concentrated. When this state is sustained for long, it can make it lose strength and ultimately can damage the battery. Simply adding distilled water will bring it to the proper volume and strength. Check the battery's water level every 2 to 3 months, Extreme Weather/Temperature Extremely hot weather can cause fluid in car batteries to evaporate, damaging the internal structure of the battery. That is why average battery life is shorter in warmer climates. However, extremely cold weather can also damage a car's battery. Regardless of the temperature you drive in, properly taking care of your car battery can help keep it running. Maintain Your battery Regularly The best way care for your battery is to perform regular care and maintenance on it. This will often allow you to catch problems before they have a chance to snowball. Inspect and test your battery cell voltage every 3,000 miles (4,800 km) or 3 months, whichever comes sooner, or every time you get an oil change or have your car in for maintenance Source: https://autojosh.com/10-ways-to-make-your-car-battery-last-longer/ |

The Nigerian Civil War otherwise referred to as the “Biafra War“, gave life to the expression, “necessity is the mother of invention”. This was so when the Biafran army, in a desperate bid to defend themselves, showed their ingenuity and inventiveness by coming up with various contraptions of warfare to repel the Federal army. Some of the home-made weapons of death that they manufactured were given various names based on what they were capable of doing. For instance, the multi-barrel “Ogbunigwe”, when translated into English means mass killer. Other warfare contractions constructed by the Biafra army include Ojukwu anti-mines (made like vehicle hydraulic jack), and anti-tank mines, for trucks, tanks and armoured personnel carriers, Ojukwu air launch weapon system (air drop bomb), Ojukwu mortar, Ojukwu bucket and others, Grenade Launcher, etc. The war which commenced on 6 July 1967 ended on the 15 January 1970. Below are photos of the relics of the Biafra Armoured Personnel Troop Carrier and the Biafran Armour Vehicles known as Red Devils. There were type A, B, C, and D of them. These vehicles are currently kept in The National Nigerian War Museum in Umuahia, Abia State. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-2-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-11-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-8-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-9-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-10-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-18.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-19.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Biafra-Armoured-Vehicle-12.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/see-the-war-time-vehicles-fabricated-by-the-biafran-army/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Alausa is a principal district in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State. It is the seat of the Lagos State Secretariat and offices of the Governor and Deputy-Governor of Lagos State. Alausa is also the location of the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex. Alausa also has a vibrant and growing Central Business District with the presence of several multinational business concerns. It also has many low-density residential estates like the Cornerstone Estate, MKO Abiola Gardens, etc. Alausa boasts of excellent roads. All the roads there are well designated. They all feature road markings, functional street lights, and traffic lights, CCTV cameras, very visible road signs, water hydrants, pavements, etc. And most importantly, potholes are scarce on roads there. Indeed, roads in Alausa, Ikeja, is a good example of how roads in a cosmopolitan city like Lagos should look like. Lagos State is the fifth largest economy in Africa. The government generates N34 billion monthly from revenues generated internally (N408 billion, annually). This is far more than what many African countries generate. With this huge resources at the state's disposal, why can’t the entire roads in Lagos be like how it is in Alausa, Ikeja? https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-9.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-39.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-40.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-11.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-16.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-23.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-20.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-15.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-12.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-21.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-38.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-25.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Alausa-Lagos-Roads-32.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/why-cant-all-roads-in-lagos-state-be-like-the-roads-in-alausa-ikeja-photos/ |
https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/unilag-logo-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 The University of Lagos is set to unveil a zero-emission car manufactured by a research team in the institution. A zero-emissions vehicle, or ZEV, is a vehicle that emits no exhaust gas from the onboard source of power. Exhaust gas contains harmful pollutants to the health and the environment such as particulates (soot), hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, ozone, lead, and various oxides of nitrogen. Prof. Dixon Akinleye, Chairman, Sub Committee (Abstract), made the revelation at a news conference in Lagos to announce the institution’s 14th Research Conference and Fair. The zero-emission car is one of the products of research grants of about N5 billion that the university has attracted in the last one year. Prof. Samson Adeosun, the Lead Scientist, led a group of students from the Faculty of Engineering to achieve this feat. According to Prof Adeosun, another group of researchers has also already developed a more efficient brake pad made from recycled materials. The zero-emission car and other products will be showcased at a forthcoming conference that will take place from Aug. 21 to Aug. 23 with the theme: “Automation and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities for 21st Century Research and Development”. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/unilag-logo.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/university-of-lagos-is-set-to-unveil-a-zero-emission-car/ |

https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 After being held up in hours-long traffic gridlock, you get to the end of the traffic queue, only to find no reason for the traffic hold up. Many Lagosians can relate to this. Well, most times there is actually a reason for these hold-ups. They are usually caused by illegal parking or stopping on the roads by some motorists. Illegal parking or stopping on a busy road can significantly narrow the access on the roads and prevent access by other vehicles behind. The chief culprits of this sort of practice are commercial motorists, especially danfos. Sadly, the traffic agencies responsible for regulating vehicular activities, are either compromised by these errant drivers or they are too lenient in the regulation. See photos of some vehicles that are illegally parked or stopped on some roads in Lagos. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-11.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-14.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Reckless-Motorist-Parking-Lagos-13.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/this-is-one-of-the-major-causes-of-traffic-hold-up-in-lagos-see-photos/ |
Lagos State, the most populous state in Nigeria, is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. It is also considered as one of the world’s 36 mega-cities. Lagos has one of the largest, most extensive, and busiest road networks in West Africa. Sadly, Lagos has an insufficient suburban train and some ferry services. Transportation within the state is principally by road. This often leaves the internal roads and expressways congested at peak hours, due in part to the geography of the city, as well as its explosive population growth. Shortly before the advent of the Lagos BRT, Lagos was regarded as the only megacity (defined by the UN as a city with a population of over 10 million) without any organized public transport system. A new monorail system that is supposed to span the length of the Badagry expressway to Lagos Island is currently under construction. Despite the introduction of the BRT bus system and over 800 new intra-city buses by the Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration, there is still a significant deficit of public mass transit vehicles in Lagos. The photos below show the daily challenges of getting available mass transit vehicles faced by residents of Lagos state. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-13.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-12.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-10.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-15.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-16.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-18.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-19.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-23.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-21.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-20.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-30.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-27.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-28.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Stranded-Lagos-Comuters-29.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/despite-the-introduction-of-over-800-buses-see-stranded-commuters-in-lagos-photos/

There is currently a protest by commercial vehicle drivers on the Kaduna-Abuja highway. The reason for the protest is on account of the alleged shooting of one of them - a commercial vehicle driver - by the police. The protesting drivers blocked both sides of the highway with their parked vehicles, making vehicular movement difficult. This has caused a heavy traffic jam on Kaduna-Abuja road. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Protesting-Driver-Abuja-Kaduna-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Protesting-Driver-Abuja-Kaduna-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Photo Credit: @donsnupy Source: https://autojosh.com/breaking-protesting-drivers-block-kaduna-abuja-highway-photos/ |
A social media user has raised an alarm about the imminent collapse of a bridge on the Aleto axis of the East-West road in Rivers State. The bridge leads to Eleme - the location of an NNPC refinery and the Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL). According to the social media user who goes by the handle @HWokocha, the bridge is in danger of caving in due to the stationary vehicular weight it handles due to traffic gridlocks. Such bridges, by their design, are constructed to carry moving loads within a second. They are not built to retain loads for a prolonged period. Recall that some days ago, a bridge collapsed at the campus of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. The collapsed bridge reportedly claimed the lives of four students. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Eleme-Bridge-Rivers-State.jpg?w=900&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/a-bridge-leading-to-nnpc-refinery-in-river-state-is-in-danger-of-collapsing-see-photo/

https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Lagos-Bus-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Contrary to popular belief, the recently released new 800-plus buses by the Lagos State government are not part of the BRT scheme. The BRT is a mass transit system that employs dedicated lanes, enabling buses to avoid traffic – and by extension, ensure shorter duration of journeys. The BRT system is also considered a lucrative venture for its operators, as return time is shorter because of the use of the dedicated lanes. The buses introduced by the Ambode administration, and launched on April 24, 2019, by President Buhari are under the supervision of the Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL). The LBSL was incorporated in August 2016 as a transport asset acquisition, operations, and advisory services company, and is the brain behind the new and ubiquitous high capacity LBSL buses seen across the Lagos metropolis. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Lagos-Bus-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 The infrastructure provided for the smooth operations of the LBSL buses includes bus shelters, lay-bys, bus flags, terminals, and depots at various strategic points along the routes. However, the LBSL buses are strictly not permitted to use the money-spinning dedicated BRT lanes in Lagos, especially the ones on the mainland Primero Transport Services Limited - a privately-owned company - remains the only BRT operator in Lagos. The period of expiration of their monopoly as the sole operator of the BRT service is not in public knowledge. The Managing Director of LBSL is Idowu Oguntona. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Lagos-Bus-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Lagos-brt-20.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Read about The History of The Lagos BRT (25 Things Every Lagosian Must Know) HERE Source: https://autojosh.com/these-buses-are-not-lagos-brt-buses-see-photos/

Popular Instagram Comedian, Freedom Atsepoyi, famously known as Mr. Jollof, is a graduate of Benson Idahosa University. He graduated there with a degree in Political Science and Public Administration. In August 2017, he established DOINGS TV, a platform to promote some of his messages. According to him, he chose the name Mr. Jollof because it is generally believed that everyone loves Jollof rice, and since his sole career objective is to make people happy, the name was just appropriate. Mr. Jollof, who is also a politician, recently, and unsuccessfully, made an attempt at the membership of the House of Representative, Delta State, Warri Federal Constituency. The Delta-state based entertainer, who would be celebrating his 32nd birthday in a few days’ time (13th August), earlier today published a photo of himself posing with some Mercedes Benz brands – a Sprinter VIP Bus and two G-Wagons. The social media sensation, who is adorned in an Urhobo attire in the photo, captioned the post, thus: “If you wake up tomorrow to hear that Mercedes Benz Sign Mr. Jollof, how will you feel ?” See the photo below. Lagos State is home to one of the largest population of black people on earth. Nigeria’s commercial capital has undergone a significant transformation over the decades. Below are photos of some popular roads and bridge in Lagos as they were in years and decades past. Can you identify any of these roads and bridge in the photos below? https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Ikorodu-expressway-Lagos-2-1947..jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Carter-bridge-Lagos-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/LAGOS-PAST-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Tinubu-Square-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Tinubu-Square-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-15.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Carter-bridge-Lagos-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Tinubu-Square-2-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-9.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-16.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Carter-bridge-Lagos-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Carter-bridge-Lagos-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-10.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-2-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Carter-bridge-Lagos-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Carter-bridge-Lagos-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Throwback-Lagos-Roads-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/lag-past-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 To see the names of these roads, click here Source: https://autojosh.com/see-how-popular-roads-and-bridges-in-lagos-looked-like-in-the-past-photos/ |
https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 The Osemwegies and Okeys own a mobile entertainment business in Canada. These two Nigerian families are in the business of bringing excitement into the lives of residents of Calgary and Alberta with their party and mobile video game theatre dubbed “Thrillz On Wheelz”. The game-theatre on a truck –fully fitted with games devices – offers exhilarating entertainment at party venues. The neon decals emblazoned on the truck is just sufficient to make children squeal in excitement as the truck arrives party venues. Even adults are often not left out in the fervour. The luxury, limo-style theatre on wheels features large-screen 5D led screens equipped with the latest game systems plus a library of today’s most popular games. Surround sound, Stadium Seating and an amazing "Action Station" enhances the fun in the game theatre. This entertainment enterprise offers the most exhilarating video game parties at affordable prices. Hygiene is key to the business, as the spotlessly clean video game theatre is sanitized after every event. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 According to Evelyn Osemwegie, one of the Directors of the company, “We strive to provide each customer with the most talked-about party experience”. “We can provide an array of video games suitable to any age group and range, our clients always have the final say on what games we make available for their guests”, Evelyn revealed. A game coach is always present to monitor all the action and helps find the ideal game for each player or group. Thrillz On Wheelz, based in Calgary, is not a franchise, and they reach out to areas such as Airdrie, Okotoks, Chestermere, High River, Turner Valley, Banff, Cochrane, Strathmore, Red deer, and Sylvan Lake. The Nigerian owners of Wheels On Wheels are currently putting plans in place to expand the business to other provinces in Canada. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-11.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-27.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-9.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-10.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-21.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-13.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-14.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-15.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-18.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-26.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/thrillzonwheelz-19.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/see-how-these-nigerians-are-promoting-mobile-entertainment-in-canada/

Getting around Lagos state - Nigeria’s most populous state - could be very challenging. The government appears to be clueless about how to overcome the unending gridlocks on the over-congested roads in Lagos. To help with mobility in Lagos, a startup has developed a solution to help Lagosians get around busy traffic in an eco-friendly way. Awa Bike is the developer of a bicycle-sharing and lifestyle solution with lifestyle tips and guides. The app is also intended to revolutionize transportation in Nigeria’s largest and most populous city of Lagos. The app - AWA APP - features a Pixel perfect design and clear codes. It also has a user-friendly interface with a seamless flow, safe and secure bicycle locking system, etc. The lifestyle angle of the app offers daily calorie consumption and breakdown monitor. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/awa-bike.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 With the app, anyone can hire a bicycle from the company from any of their stations. Though, currently, the service is restricted to some locations in the state. It is the intention of the founders that the solution would help in mobility in severe traffic challenged state like Lagos, especially in an environmentally friendly way. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/awa-bike-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Ifeoluwa Ogundipe – one of the founders – said that the inspiration for Awa Bike came when he was studying in France. According to him, “the whole time I was there, I found myself using a bicycle. And it really just hit me like why can we not or why do we not use bicycles?” “It’s a really practical way, especially in a city like Lagos to move around. And that was where the seed of that thought was planted”. Awa Bike has received an equity investment from Ingressive Capital, a venture fund targeted at early-stage startups in Africa. For security, AwaBike’s Bicycle will be geo-fenced meaning users will not be able to move the bicycles out of a specified region which will most times be the respective campuses or communities where it would be deployed. Like Uber, riders will be able to open a mobile app to find the nearest bike and would not have to worry about parking space, as the company would have negotiated those slots with the authorities of that community. Currently, university students are the major patrons of this service. Awa Bike hopes to expand its operation to cover 13 universities across the country. The company has its head office in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/awa-bike-2-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/see-the-nigerian-company-that-developed-a-bicycle-sharing-app/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Alagbole-Akute-Ajuwon is the part of Ogun state that shares borders with Ojodu-Berger axis of Lagos state. Many of the residents there work in Lagos state. For close to a decade, it has been a hellish experience for residents of that location, especially commuters that ply roads there. Roads in Akute, Alagbole, and Ajuwon have been in the most atrocious condition for years. The delay in their rehabilitation of these roads can be blamed on the delay in the construction of flyover bridges there - one in Alagbole-Yakoyo axis, and another at Akute. The construction of the bridges there has taken a massive toll on roads in Akute, Ajuwon, Lambe and neighbouring communities. The rehabilitation of roads in Alagbole-Akute-Ajuwon axis was designed to be the concluding part of the construction of the 2 flyover bridges. Almost a decade after, one of the bridges is barely at its completion stage, with the extending roads yet to be constructed. It struggled to reach its current stage before the last general election and by extension the exit of Ibikunle Amosun as the Governor of Ogun State. The second bridge at Akute has been completely abandoned. As a result of this, the construct the adjoining roads have been completely abandoned. Thereby, leaving roads around there terrifically degraded. Commuters and motorists who ply the roads regularly often have reasons to wail. With the new government of Ogun State led by Prince Dapo Abiodun still trying to settle down to its numerous responsibilities, it is uncertain when succor will eventually come to residents of Alagbole-Akute-Ajuwon. Alagbole, Akute, Ajuwon are in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-10.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-13.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-14.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-25.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-20.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-21.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-39.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-22.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-24.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-31.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-26.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-35.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-37.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-40.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-42.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Akute-Alagbole-Roads-43.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/see-how-ex-governor-ibikunle-amosun-left-akute-alagbole-ajuwon-roads-photos/

On Thursday 30th May 2019, Babajide Sanwo–Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, signed his first Executive Order. Contained in the Executive Order was a directive to the Lagos State Public works Corporation (LSPWC) to commence the patching and rehabilitation of bad roads to address the perennial problem of traffic in the State. In obedience to the Executive Order, the LSPWC has commenced an aggressive rehabilitation of roads in Lagos state to rid them of potholes and failed portions. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Iju-Shaga-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Weeks after the rehabilitation exercise commenced, one thing has become evident to observant commuters; and that is, LSPWC is clearly overwhelmed by the incredible number of potholes and failed portions on roads all around Lagos state. Except we delude ourselves, it is clear that LSPWC is significantly limited by personnel and equipment, and as such, the exercise to rid roads in Lagos state cannot be achieved anytime soon. With this reality, if indeed the Lagos State government is sincere with its determination to rid the roads in Lagos state of potholes and failed portions, would it not be wiser to outsource some part of the project or collaborate with some private construction firms in the exercise? https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/LSPWC-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Herbert-Macaulay-Afrique-Road-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/tmp_3809-potholesonroad-600x400619127508.jpg?resize=600%2C400619127508&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Sanwo-Olu-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/should-gov-sanwo-olu-outsource-the-rehabilitation-of-lagos-roads-to-private/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun
