This is an innovative strategy to curb the high youth unemployment, promote skill excellence and prepare youths for jobs of the future. By rebranding vocational skills, iCreate Africa is addressing the negative societal perspective affecting the acceptance of technical skill trades while upgrading the value of skilled professions. The competition is specially designed to project vocational skills in the mainstream and create opportunities for skilled artisans and professionals to showcase their skills for a chance to become iCreate Skill Champions representing Nigeria at the World Skills Competition in Kazan, Russia in August 2019. The iCreate Skills Kaduna will close today, Saturday, April 27th, with the iCreate Skill Awards to celebrate the Northern talents. The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, recently joined the league of Nigerian pastors who own private jets. The acquisition of the aircraft has turned out to become a controversial issue with a lot of people questioning the need for a clergyman to own a private aircraft. Earlier today, Apostle Suleiman took to his Instagram handle to put out a video to clear the air on his recent aircraft acquisition. In the video, he dropped a hint of further acquisition of more jets, even as much as 50. Watch the video HERE. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Jakarta-subway-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Jakarta – the Indonesian capital - share huge similarities with Lagos state, Nigeria. Jakarta is officially home to about 10 million people, but the population of the greater metropolitan area swells to 30 million. Just as Lagos, Jarkata, the population explosion occurring in this urban city has created infrastructural deficits especially for basic amenities. One of the basic infrastructural deficits is seen in the transport sector. This has led to incessant traffic congestion in this urban city making it one of the traffic gridlock capitals of the world. Over the decades, traffic congestion in Jakarta relentlessly worsened because of an increase in car ownership. Yet, the road infrastructure remained relatively unexpanded. This has left the resident to spend more hours in traffic. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Jakarta-subway-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 According to the transport ministry, the average peak hour speed has “significantly decreased” to 10 kilometers an hour (6.2 miles per hour). It often can take two or more hours to move 5 kilometers (3 miles) in some pockets of the city. Combating the huge traffic challenge in Jakarta has been on for several decades. However, the first and long-awaited subway in Indonesia was commissioned last Sunday in Jakarta. Indonesia is the 4th most populous nation in the world. It has a population estimated at 269.54 million in 2019. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Jakarta-subway-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Jakarta-subway-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 This metro-line is planned to help relieve crippling traffic gridlock in Southeast Asia’s biggest economy. The project has been planned since the 1980s, but its construction was delayed by political crises, red tape and funding disagreements. Trips across the 16-kilometer (10-mile) transit line from the southern neighborhood of Lebak Bulus to Jakarta’s downtown and is expected to take less than 30 minutes. The subway includes seven elevated and six underground stations. Two consortiums of local and Japanese companies built it. Passengers can ride for free until the end of the month, after which operator PT MRT Jakarta has said tickets will cost the equivalent of between 70 cents and $1. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Jakarta-subway-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Jakarta-subway-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 This subway line, the latest of many infrastructure improvements across Jakarta, is aimed at helping it catch up with other Southeast Asian capitals such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Bangkok in public transport. While inaugurating the transit line, President Joko Widodo also presided over a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the second phase: an 8-kilometer (5-mile) northward line planned for completion by 2024. The two projects are being built at a cost of $2.6 billion. In Lagos, a similar metro line project has been ongoing for years. Its completion dates have been postponed severally. The Blue line which is being constructed will be 27km long, connecting Okokomaiko to Marina. The first two lines of the urban rail project were estimated to cost $1.4bn. These are photos of the Oshodi-Airport road. These pictures were taken a day after the road was commissioned by President Mohammadu Buhari. The Oshodi-Airport road is a gateway into the country. It connects Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) to the Oshodi axis of the state. Tragically, for decades, that stretch of road remained a national disgrace. Though a Federal road, the project is being handled by the Lagos State government. On May 2017, and with facilitation by Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, the federal government finally gave the approval for the Lagos State government to commence a total reconstruction of the road. Interestingly, from the photos, it is quite evident that the Oshodi-Airport road – just like the equally commissioned Oshodi transport Interchange - is far from completion. The rationale behind commissioning this uncompleted road project is yet to be established. Even more befuddling is why the President agreed to participate in this apparent show of shame. The Oshodi-Airport road construction project is being handled by Hitech Construction Company Limited. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-5-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-1-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-2-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-3-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-4-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-11-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-6-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-8-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-9-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-10-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-12-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-13-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-14-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-15-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-16-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Commissioned-Airport-Road-10.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-122.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Commissioned-Airport-Road-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Commissioned-Airport-Road-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Commissioned-Airport-Road-14.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Commissioned-Airport-Road-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 See more photos here Source: https://autojosh.com/this-is-the-airport-road-that-buhari-commissioned-in-lagos-embarrassing-photos/

These are photos of the Oshodi Transport Interchange, Oshodi, Lagos. It was commissioned yesterday by President Mohammadu Buhari. These photos were taken earlier today. Clearly, the construction of this interchange is far from being completed. Which begs the questions: what is the rationale for commissioning a project that is nowhere close to its completion? Why is Governor Akinwunmi Ambode desperate to enjoy the credit for this project? Was President Buhari not aware that the construction of this project was still ongoing? See also: This Is The Airport Road That President Buhari Commissioned In Lagos (Embarrassing PHOTOS). To read, Click HERE While we were there, some Lagosians who we discussed with expressed anger and disappointment at the apparent deceit. According to them, some roads that were opened and motorable yesterday to make the environment appear appealing have all been closed as construction works continued this morning. Again, what is the point in all these haste in commissioning an ongoing project? This reminds us of the Ikeja bus terminal which remains non-functional as construction is still ongoing one year after it was also commissioned by President Mohammadu Buhari. Is it safe to say that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode successfully pulled the wool over the President’s eyes twice? https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-19.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-18.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-19.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-25.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-20-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-21.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-22.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-23.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-24.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-30.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-26.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-27.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-28.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-29.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-36.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-32.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-34.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-35.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-41.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-31.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-37.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-38.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-39.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-40.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-42.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-43.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-44.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-45.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Comissioned-Oshodi-Transport-Interchange-49.jpg?w=600&ssl=1

Well, I hope this qualifies as a feature for throwback Thursday. It is a photo of some officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Response Unit (LRU). It was captured yesterday as they lay in wait for the arrival of President Mohammadu Buhari at the Oshodi Transport Interchange that was commissioned. At the background is a view of the commissioned Oshodi transport Interchange. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/lru-waiting-For-Buhari-1-1.jpg?resize=800%2C533&ssl=1

In most part of Nigeria, railway tracks have become the preferred places for trading activities. In Lagos state, railway tracks are the destinations for those in search of “Okrika” clothes and other used and substandard wares. Every day, traders and their customers turn these locations to a huge marketplace. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Tragically, this unusual and very risky trading practice has led to the death of some people, especially those who were not quick enough to depart the scene for an oncoming train. Indeed, hanging around railways tracks comes with enormous risks. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Sometimes, some people at these railway marketplaces make fatal judgements, forgetting that trains are not as controllable as cars that can be stopped at will. Still, this has not deterred Nigerians – especially Lagosians – from trading or hanging around active railway tracks. Some examples of railway track locations in Lagos with huge market activities are Oshodi, Mushin, Ikeja-Along, Yaba bus-stop, etc. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 During the administration of Governor Babatunde Fashola, there was a ban on trading on railway tracks. This ban was vigorously enforced at the time. However, the enforcement of that ban appears to have been relaxed in the current administration. Curiously, it is reported that some task forces are deployed to some of these locations to collect revenues from the illegal traders at these railway track marketplaces. Perhaps, this is the reason why this high-risk illegality persists on our railway tracks. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-7.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Railway-Track-Market-8.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/trading-on-railway-track-why-is-this-risky-practice-permitted/

Kim Jong Un – North Korea’s leader – over the weekend, paid a visit to Russia. Interestingly, the reclusive Kim Jong Un made the trip on his armoured train. His visit to Russian comes amid signs that North Korea is increasing efforts to secure aid and restart stalled talks aimed at ending its nuclear weapons program in return for aid. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Kim.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 The heavily armoured train conveys his 17 cars that include his personal Mercedes Benz that he will use during the trip. The train is said to be similar to the ones his father and grandfather constantly used. This is not the first time that Kim Jung has made the international official trip with the train. Kim had previously travelled to Bejing, China, in this same train. A lot of people find his choice of train for the international trip a bit strange. This is especially given the fact that he loves to fly. His fascination for aircraft since childhood is well documented. His country has an ageing IL-62M VVIP aircraft. The aircraft has been upgraded with modern executive interiors in recent years to accommodate foreign missions. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Kim-Jong-Un-Train-2-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Kim-Jong-Un-Train-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/north-koreans-president-kim-jong-un-travels-to-russia-in-an-armoured-train-photos/

Again, it has happened just like when President Buhari visited Lagos state during his Presidential campaign tour. The contentious parked trailers along some key expressways in Lagos have again made a sudden disappearance. These parked trailers on the expressways in Lagos have become the norm as opposed to the exception. They line up the stretch of a massive 12.4km of the expressway – from Onipanu to the ports in Apapa. Several bridges along the way are not spared of their presence and enormous weights. The bridges affected include Ojuelegba, Abati, Stadium, Ijora, Iganmu, Eko, Carter and Jibowu bridges. These parked articulated vehicles are also the cause of the chaotic traffic flow on and around these bridges. With the manner these parked trailers keep disappearing each time the President visits, it should be evident to all that the government - state and federal - are not sincere about the elimination of parked trailers from the major expressways and bridges. Lagos state is a major gateway into Nigeria. Most visitors to the country come in through the state. Thus, the first impression that most international visitors behold of Nigeria is provided by Lagos state. Sadly, an uncomplimentary sight that greets visitors to Nigeria is the ubiquitous sights of open and dirty drainages all over Lagos state. For decades, open and dirty drainages have been a prominent feature of roads and streets in Nigeria's commercial capital. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Successive governments in Lagos state – despite the enormous fiscal resources at their disposal – have failed to eradicate this outdated infrastructure. Since the return of democracy in 1999, successive administrations in the state have been actively pursuing an agenda to achieve the status of a world-class metropolis. Sadly, the sight of open drainages makes a huge joke of this ambition. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-6.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 No city in the world that sincerely desires to be taken seriously leaves its drainage system exposed, to the extent that the inhabitants now use them as alternatives to refuse dumps. Lagos state is considered as the 7th biggest economy in Africa. Come May 29th, Lagos state will have a new governor. Will Babajide Sanwo-Olu offer a solution to this long term failure of governance in Lagos? Only time will tell. https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-4-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-5.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-3-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Open-Guttter-In-Lagos-16.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/will-sanwo-olu-rescue-lagos-from-the-disgrace-of-open-and-dirty-drainage-system/

It is no longer news that President Mohammadu Buhari will be in Lagos today to commission some projects. Part of the projects that the President will commission include a fleet of buses that is an integral part of the Bus Reform Project of the Governor Ambode-led government. These buses have the unique feature of Intelligent Transport System mechanism. This mass transit mechanism is intended to aid Lagosians in planning their journeys. This initiative will also make public transportation in the state globally competitive. These buses are the first batch of 820 buses out of the 5000 buses being proposed for the bus Bus Reform Project. Have you noticed that a growing number of ambulances – these days – have the word “ambulance” spelt backwards on the front of the vehicles? That is, instead of the word “AMBULANCE”, it is spelt as ECNALUBMA. Ever wondered the reason for that? https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Ambulance-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Well, the reason simple: The word is written backwards on the front of the vehicles to enable motorists in front to easily read it on their rear-view mirrors, especially during emergencies. That way, people looking in their rearview mirrors or side-mirrors can read it as AMBULANCE. Ambulances are typically in greater speed than surrounding vehicles. This makes the ambulance front visible in the rear-view mirrors of other cars. That way, those cars that need to give way for the ambulance to drive through in traffic would do so. This is necessary because, in traffic, ambulances are supposed to be given right of way and so apart from their sirens; the word ambulance is made easily readable from the mirror of vehicles in front of them. International standards state that ambulances should have the world ambulance written in reverse on the bonnet. In some countries, the words “police” and “paramedics” are spelt backwards for a similar reason. In essence, “mirror writing” on vehicles are used to quickly catch the attention of other motorists. https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Ambulance-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Ambulance-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Ambulance-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Source: https://autojosh.com/why-is-the-word-ambulance-spelt-backwards-on-emergency-vehicles/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

In the past few years, the world has witnessed some innovations in the automotive sector. These innovations are changing the traditional ways that automobiles function. Different reasons have given rise to the re-engineering of the car to have some of these innovations, for instance, the Climate change issues are forcing the world to go green in their choices of energy, etc. In this article, we are going to be discussing the 5 most popular car innovations that are revolutionizing the auto sector. Electric Vehicle (EV) https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Electric-Vehicles.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 An electric vehicle or “EV” is a car that is powered by electricity. An EV is propelled by one or more electric motors, using energy typically stored in rechargeable batteries. Concerns about increasing oil prices, the desire to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, together with advances in battery technology are some of the reasons why the world is witnessing the manufacture of Electric Vehicles. EVs can be charged at a variety of charging stations, these charging stations can be installed in both houses and public areas. In several countries, tax credits, subsidies, and other incentives have been put in place to encourage the citizens to adopt the EVs. The two best-selling electric vehicles, the Nissan Leaf, and the Tesla Model S, have ranges reaching 151 miles (243 km) and, 335 miles (539 km) respectively. As of June 2017, there are over 2 million electric cars in use around the world. Autonomous cars https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/autonomous-cars.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Autonomous cars are cars that can drive themselves. They do not need a driver for them to move around. Autonomous Cars are also referred to as driverless cars, robotic cars or self-driving cars. They move around by sensing their environment and navigating around without human input. A variety of techniques is combined for them to be able to perceive and navigate around the environment. Some of the techniques include laser light, radar, GPS, odometry and computer vision. Advanced control systems interpret sensory information to identify appropriate navigation paths, as well as obstacles and relevant signage. The use of Autonomous Cars has several benefits. Some of them include reduced mobility and infrastructure costs, increased safety, increased mobility, increased customer satisfaction and reduced crime. They would also contribute to a significant reduction in traffic collision. Hybrid Vehicles https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/hybrid-4.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Hybrid vehicles are vehicles with a petrol engine and an electric motor. Either the petrol engine or the electric motor can propel the car. The internal combustion engine of the car drives an electric generator that powers an electric motor. The basic principle with hybrid vehicles is that the different motors work better at different speeds; the electric motor is more efficient at producing torque, or turning power, and the combustion engine is better for maintaining high speed (better than the typical electric motor). Switching from one to the other at the proper time while speeding up yields a win-win in terms of energy efficiency, as such that translates into greater fuel efficiency, for example. Ride-sharing https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Uber-Driver2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Ride-sharing is a service where someone can request for a ride at very short notice, using an app. The request is made to a pool of cars, run by specific carpooling companies, of which one of them respond to the request. Ride-sharing is also known as real-time ridesharing, instant ridesharing, dynamic ridesharing, ad-hoc ridesharing, on-demand ridesharing, and dynamic carpooling. Companies that operate these pools of cars are called ride-share Company. Carpooling for ridesharing services makes use of three recent technologies advances. They include. a. Smartphones for a traveller to request a ride from wherever they happen to be b. GPS navigation devices to determine a driver's route and arrange the shared ride c. Social networks to establish trust and accountability between drivers and passengers d. Some examples of ride-sharing platforms are Uber, Bolt (formerly Taxify), Oga Taxi, etc. Car sharing https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/car-sharing-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 Car sharing is a system where people can rent cars for short periods – often by hours. Car sharing is practised in countries like the US, Australia, Canada. In the UK, it is referred to as Car clubs. Car sharing services are available in over 1,000 cities in several countries. This system appeals to people who only need to drive a car occasionally. This model is also attractive to people who love to have access to different types or models of cars. Organizations offering this service offer the cars for short-term access to transportation on an on-needed basis either for personal transportation or goods delivery. As of December 2012, there were an estimated 1.7 million car-sharing members in 27 countries. Source: https://autojosh.com/5-recent-innovations-in-the-automotive-sector/

https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/biggest-airport-istanbul-4.jpg?w=700&ssl=1 Istanbul Ataturk Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world with 70 million annual passengers. On April 6, it officially ceased operations and all commercial flights were transferred to Turkey’s new flagship international airport. The airport’s first phase of construction, which includes three runways and 15 million square feet of terminal space, is finished. There are four phases to be completed by 2025, with a total cost of about $12 billion. The new airport covers 76 million square meters (more than 818 million square feet or 18,780 acres) and can currently handle 90 million passengers a year in phase one. When the entire airport is completed, it will be able to handle 200 million passengers a year. That will make it the world’s biggest airport by passenger traffic. In comparison, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, currently the world’s busiest airport, handles 107 million passengers a year. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/biggest-airport-istanbul.jpg?w=700&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/biggest-airport-istanbul-2.jpg?w=700&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/biggest-airport-istanbul-3.jpg?w=700&ssl=1 There will be 55,000 square meters (592,000 square feet) of Duty Free shops. The Duty Free area, inspired by the Bosphorus, a famous waterway in Turkey, will have seven sections housing different concepts, including “Fashion Garden,” “Family Palace” and “Style Beach,” each selling brands related to its theme. The air traffic control tower at Istanbul New Airport, which is 22 miles from Istanbul, is shaped like a tulip, a popular and symbolic flower in Turkish culture. The massive growth of Turkish Airlines is one of the major reasons for Istanbul New Airport.'' Source: https://autojosh.com/%e2%82%a64-32-trillion-airport-biggest-world/ |
