TravelBest Foods To Eat When Traveling To Avoid Discomfort And For Safer Driving by AutoJoshNIG(op): 11:02pm On Mar 28, 2019
https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/best-food-to-eat-comfort-travel-eating-while-driving.jpg?resize=600%2C338&ssl=1

What we eat have a vital role to play in our body. The food we eat will determine how our body will react.

Cars are designed to use engine oil for engine lubrication; imagine pouring in olive oil into the engine instead of engine oil. One thing is certain – things will go wrong. Same thing applies when it comes to the human body; when you eat the wrong thing, it can go to the extent of giving you a nervous breakdown.

The rationale behind this article is to call to the attention of several road users on what they eat before they embark on their journey; most especially those embarking on long distance journey, and those using commercial vehicles. It is also the business of those behind the wheel.

What you eat a day to your journey matters too. Don’t eat what will purge you. You may end up in the hands of a driver that is very impatient and can’t just give you the room to ease yourself.

It is very common for one to feel the need to eat when embarking on a journey, whether long distance or short distance.

If you’ll be sitting for a long time, eating something that is light and crunchy is still the best as it reduces your chances of having any form of stomach disturbances. Some of the food or snack one can take that has minimal chances of posing a problem includes plantain or potato chips, nuts, sausage rolls. These crunchy snacks will definitely serve. After all the eating, you can send it down with juice but it’s advisable you choose water over every other drink.

Avoid food (especially if it is not home prepared) like rice, swallow of any kind, buggers etc. Also do well to avoid fruits because they help to soften the lining of the stomach which can lead to discomfort during travel. If you must take fruits, apple, cucumber, banana and carrot will blend.

Please, do not go and eat Ewa ti goin or pepper soup. Don’t say we didn’t warn you because you’re more likely to have troubles with your stomach.

Uncontrolled eating during travel should be avoided because you may not have the opportunity to relieve yourself if any problem should arise. This may be due to the distance of travel or the means of transportation being used.

Please don’t forget to share this post if you found it helpful.

CrimePilot Intentionally Crashes Plane Into Baby Shower Party In Attempt To Kill Wife by AutoJoshNIG(op): 1:53pm On Mar 28, 2019

https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/pilot-intentionally-crashes-baby-shower-to-kill-wife-1.jpg?w=749&ssl=1

Wonders they say shall never end. Here is another deadly action carried out by a pilot.

A South African pilot who in attempt to kill his wife flew his plane into a clubhouse in Botswana on Friday apparently after an argument with his wife.

One of the consequences of his brutal action is that he lost his life in the crash. The name of the pilot is Charl Vljoen and he worked for Kalahari Air Services.

In a video that went viral, the 2016 Beechcraft Kingair B200 aircraft A2-MBM aircraft is seen flying very low before hitting a structure at the Matsieng Aerodrome clubhouse, leaving nearby vehicles destroyed, with some in flames, News24 reported.

The club said in a statement that Viljoen had been an “uninvited guest at a private function”.

In a report by Netwerk24, the couple had attended a baby shower at the club and had a terrible argument. Other guests then proceeded to tell drunken Viljoen to leave.

He left the club in his car and headed to the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, where Kalahari Air Services is based. He finally came back prepared for total destruction.

“Matsieng Flying Club members sensed that the pilot might have had an ulterior motive at the time and ordered an immediate evacuation of the club premises by the approximately fifty attendees. The final extreme low level run by the aircraft along runway 36 resulted in an impact with the Matsieng Flying Club facility at ground level,” it said.

Please, let’s not be like this pilot. We have to learn how to settle conflicts amicably and not with violence when it is totally uncalled for

PoliticsBuhari To Give 6% Interest Loans To Nigerians To Buy Made-in-nigeria Cars by AutoJoshNIG(op): 12:07pm On Mar 28, 2019
https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/buhari.jpg?w=600&ssl=1

President Mohammadu Buhari-led government is set to commence a policy that will encourage loans to be offered to Nigerians who are interested in buying made-in-Nigeria cars.

The loans will be offered at a 6% -8%  interest rate. The repayment period for the loans will span several years.

This measure is to encourage the purchase of made in Nigeria vehicles as a way of boosting local production in the country.

This was recently revealed by the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council ( NADDC ), Jelani Aliyu in an interactive session with pressmen.

According to Aliyu, the policy was aimed at discouraging importation of vehicles into Nigeria.

Aliyu noted that giving access to vehicle financing was an important step forwards supporting the capacity of local manufacturers in the country.

” In other nations when you want to buy a vehicle, you go, you put down 10% to 15%, you drive off with the vehicle and you pay for it for a number of years at just 6% interest rate, but that is non-existence in Nigeria “.

Aliyu lamented that ” when you have vehicle financing system with an interest rate of about 20%, it is high”. Adding that the Council had concluded plans with three indigenous banks to enable access to vehicle financing at a low-interest rate.

“We have funding, we are going to be working with this,  we are talking with three banks, we will soon be rolling out what we call the Automotive Vehicle Finance Scheme”.

Jelani however said the access to the finance will only be provided for vehicles that were manufactured in Nigeria. ” in about a month and half, we will roll out the vehicle finance scheme so that Nigerians will be able to put in maybe 10% or less and drive off with the vehicle and pay over a couple of years at just 6-8% interest rate.

” We really think this will improve local capacity for production of vehicles in the country and these finances were for only made in Nigeria vehicles ” he noted.

He said that the country was spending over $8 billion on the importation of vehicles and other automotive related products.  “That is $8 billion that simply goes out of our economy to purchase 300-400 vehicles per year.

“Most of these vehicles are used so there is a lot of challenges with efficiency, safety, not to talk of zero contribution into our economy”.

TravelMan States Why He Tore The Change Given To Him By A Biker Rider In Imo State by AutoJoshNIG(op): 3:41pm On Mar 27, 2019
https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Okada-In-Lagos-10-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1

A Nigerian whose moniker on Twitter is @oraeekene narrated his ordeal with a biker rider in Imo State.

In his story, he stated why he tore the change given to him by the bike rider.

Read through his story and tell us if his actions make any sense to you.

Read his tweets below;

Bikeman wanted to cheat me of my change LOL when he finally gave me, i tore the money infront of him to tell him it was nothing to me It wasnt about the money. It was about the fact this year, no one will cheat me, no matter how small I will not tolerate nonsense.

I asked for my change nicely. He started his trash. Asked nicely again, started telling me a bullshit story. When i disagreed with him, told me i’m a liar, that i was lying. First salvo. Told him i wouldn’t let it go, that i have all day.

Told me to get out, put the key in the bike to turn it on. Held the bike told him he wasnt going anywhere. He then lied and said he was only clearing. I held on the bike. He told me to step aside or he would push me

I then stepped up right in his face. I told him i dare him. Told him he thinks i’m afraid to go one on one, or because i have stuff with me? that i’ll throw them away. He then backtracked, that he didnt say he’ll hit me, that i should just leave him

At that time my neighbour came around. Asked what was going on. He wanted to tell his bullshit, i told him to shut up, then told the true story to my neighbour. My neighbour turned to the bike man like ahn ahn. When he saw no one was on his side, told me to ‘take the money joor’

That’s when i lost it, tore the money infront of him. Told him it wasnt about the money but that no idiot will cheat me or talk to me anyhow. Then walked to my house

Travel5 Most Popular Bus Stops In Lagos by AutoJoshNIG(op): 7:07pm On Mar 26, 2019
https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Oshodi-Lagos-Bus-Interchange-bustop.jpg?w=686&ssl=1

Lagos state is the most populous city in Nigeria and Africa at large. It is a state know to be land of opportunities.

The population of Lagos according to the Lagos State Government was 17.5 million, a number disputed by the Nigerian Government and judged unreliable by the National Population Commission of Nigeria. The latest reports estimate the population at 21 million, making Lagos the largest city in Africa.

When it comes to West Africa, Lagos has one of the most extensive and largest road networks. It is a state linked by many highways and bridges which are usually congested in peak hours. The rate of growth of the state is another contributing factor to this traffic congestion.

Below are the 5 most popular bus stops in Lagos. Once you make it into Lagos by road, you must hear about one of them. They are also the top bus stops that link to various other locations in Lagos.

1. Oshodi:

The bus stop Oshodi was named after Balogun Landuji Oshodi Tapa, a Nupe boy who was adopted and raised by Oba Eshinlokun of Lagos.

We can say Oshodi is the most popular bus stop im Lagos and the whole of Nigeria.

Oshodi is a very crowded bus stop which is sitted at the center of Lagos. From Oshodi, you have access to almost every other part of Lagos like the Island and some other parts of the Mainland.

Oshodi bus stop is an intersection between the busy Apapa-Oshodi Express Way, Gbagada Express Way and Agege Motor Road.

2. Ojota:

The name Ojota can be traced back to the 18th century when the present Ojota area was a military settlement where soldiers practiced or perfected their shooting skills.
As a result of the training, there were several gun firing spots which became known as “Oju Ota” which means “Bullet spots” in Yoruba.

The name later transformed to the Ojota we all know today.

Most Lagos first-timers will make it through this road because most of the interstate buses drop off their passengers here.

3. Ojuelegba:

Ojuelegba is in the middle of the old Lagos Mainland Local Government. On one side of it is Surulere on the other is Yaba, the 2 major districts that make Lagos Mainland with close proximity to Western Avenue (now Funsho Williams Avenue) and Eko Bridge, Ojuelegba is ever-bubbling and busy.

Buses to most part of Lagos can be gotten from Ojuelegba due to its centrality.

4. Mile 2:

Mile 2 serves as the intersection of Lagos-Badagry and Apapa Oshodi Express way which are 2 major roads in Lagos.

Like Oshodi, it has Mile 2 Oke (Upper Mile 2) and Mile 2 Isale (Lower Mile 2). Mile 2 is essentially the bridge that vehicles coming from or heading to Apapa take to by-pass Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

You can get buses going to most parts of Lagos from Mile 2 and also many interstate buses heading to different parts of Lagos. Maza-Maza is the next bus stop after Mile 2 heading towards Festac. If you want to travel to Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana and beyond by road, you probably have to pass through Mile 2 just because there are many bus services to other West African countries at Maza-Maza and a few at Mile 2.

5. Obalande:

Obalende is strategically placed between Lagos Island and Ikoyi. Obalende means “The king chased me to this point” when literally translated to English from Yoruba.

Obalende is one of the major gateways into the Lagos Island.

FamilyThis Photo Of A Cycling Woman Depicts The Industry Of African Women (PHOTO) by AutoJoshNIG(op): 4:47pm On Mar 26, 2019
“If wealth was the inevitable result of hard work and enterprise, every woman in Africa would be a millionaire.” -  George Monbiot (a British writer and activist),

Indeed, African women are hardworking, but least privileded in terms of income and opportunities.

They work twice as hard as men. They start their day early and end it late. They are also great multi-taskers.

In Third World nations, mostly in rural setup, they look after the house and raise the children whilst the men look after the land and raise the crops. But recent research has blown this myth sky-high.

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome, women are responsible for 'at least 50% of all food production'.

A study by the Economic Commission for Africa, for example, has shown that women do 60% to 80% of all the agricultural work on the continent plus 50% of all animal 'husbandry' and 100% of the food processing.

In other words, women do two primary jobs in Africa - in the home and in agriculture.

The picture below tells a classic tale of the industry of African women.

Car TalkRe: 5 Reasons Why You Should Carry Out Regular Computer Car Diagnostic Scanning by AutoJoshNIG(op): 12:04pm On Mar 25, 2019
Car Talk5 Reasons Why You Should Carry Out Regular Computer Car Diagnostic Scanning by AutoJoshNIG(op): 12:03pm On Mar 25, 2019
Cars produced in recent times are designed in a way that computerized diagnostic tools can detect problems in it.

Car technicians use computer diagnostic devices and software to scan cars in order to detect faults in them.

Once they plug in the unit, if there is any problem with the car, a problem code shows up. The electrician will now interpret them and detect the major/minor malfunction. The fault is then corrected or fixed by a mechanic or any competent car technician.

When the fault is corrected, this will now return the car to a perfect working condition.

These days car diagnostic devices and software have become quite common. A car owner can either patronize a professional computer car-scanning center or acquire a diagnostic tool. These tools come with helpful software and instruction booklets.

Anyway, here are some reasons why you should get your vehicle regularly scanned.

https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Car-Diagnostic-Scan-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1

It Fixes Problems with the Mechanical System

Car computer scanning is quite effective in finding out the mechanical condition of a car. It can also assess the condition of the components, accessories, and other essential parts of the engine of your car. Regular car scanning helps to detect small mechanical problems. So, when a fault is detected, your car will then be referred to a competent mechanic for repairs before the problem worsens and leads to an even bigger problem for you.

It Fixes Problems with the Electronics System

Car computer scanning does a lot more than detecting faults with your car’s mechanical parts. It also discovers irregularities with the car’s electronics. For instance, it can detect fault or inefficiencies with the ignition, audio systems, lighting systems, air conditioning, etc. Scanning can narrow down to the root cause of a problem in the electronics of a car before it becomes serious.

It Eliminates Trial And Error Diagnosis by Mechanics

Computer car scanning is very specific in its diagnostics. It efficiently detects the exact problem with a car. When detected, you can then go ahead to fix the problem. Undergoing a computerize scan eliminate trial and error diagnosis or guess work by mechanics and other car technicians.

It Ensures A Car Remains As Good As New

Regular car computer scanning will ensure your car remains as good as new. It also ensures long-term performance.

It Gives You Rest of Mind

Regular car computer scanning gives one rest of mind. Uncertainties about what the problem is with your car is completely eliminated.

CrimeKenyan Man Tried To Steal A Phone From A Passenger In A Bus, Gets Caught by AutoJoshNIG(op): 1:02pm On Mar 22, 2019
This happened somewhere in Kenya.

It is a video of a young man who attempted to steal a mobile phone from a passenger in a moving commercial vehicle.

However, the man was caught by the vigilant occupants of the vehicle. The passengers caught his hand as he reached into the vehicle to pull out the phone.

The thief's shirt was held onto by the passengers, even as the car kept moving. This afforded the passengers in the bus the opportunity to unleash savagery on the thief.

In Nigeria, the most common use for old and condemned tyres is for mounting power generator sets. This way, the tyre serves as a cushion for the vibrating equipment.

Sadly, in Nigeria, old tyres are also used during acts of babaric jungle justice. These tyres are used to set ablaze people who have been caught commiting some crime.

Well, some people are thinking outside the box.

These set of people have shown that there are hundreds of things that old tyres can be used for. Mostly, for interior or exterior décor.

Rubber is very durable and soft because of its elasticity and it is very easy to work with in terms of crafts and DIY projects. T

The next time you have your tyres changed, ask to keep the old tyres and then look at the several different and exciting items that you could produce for them.

Car Talk18 Common Road Signs That Most Motorists In Nigeria Don’t Know Their Meanings by AutoJoshNIG(op): 2:50pm On Mar 20, 2019
Road traffic signs serve several purposes: some road signs are placed on roads to point out directions to motorists; some are placed there to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians; some are there to give us an idea of what to expect ahead of us, etc.

Technically, road signs are traffic languages. They communicate specific messages to motorists and pedestrians.

Every motorist – and in some cases, pedestrians – are expected to have an understanding of what these signs represent.

It is because of this that the teaching of road traffic signs and their meanings are an essential topic taught at driving schools. Unfortunately, most motorists in Nigeria did not pass through formal driving schools.

Road signs are typically represented as symbols or annotations. In Nigeria, there is an enormous lack of understanding of what these symbols used in road signs represent. And as such, it is very common in Nigeria for the authorities in charge of producing road signs to produce road signs with symbols together with their meanings spelt out on them.

Anyway, Autojosh presents an explanation of 15 common road signs that most Nigerian motorists do not know their meanings.

PED Xing

This sign is one of the most confusing road signs that motorists come across in Nigeria. However, it is better understood when represented in its pictorial form. It actually means, “Pedestrian crossing”. This sign is often placed ahead of or near zebra crossings.

No Entry/ Do Not Enter

This sign is used to indicate that there is no entry for vehicular traffic. It is placed at the exit of some roads to inform motorist that they cannot drive into that road. It is often used at intersections to roads with one-way traffic.

No Stopping

A ‘No Stopping’ sign instructs motorists to keep moving and must not stop at any time, not for a minute, not for a second, not for a jiffy, on the road or in an area to which the ‘No Stopping’ sign applies.

Turn On Red

This sign is placed at intersections where there are traffic lights. This sign generally permits vehicles to make a right turn even when the traffic light is on red. In other words, this sign gives permission to vehicles to turn into the next junction on the right nearer to them, even when the traffic light is showing a red signal and without having to wait for a green signal.

Sharp Deviation of Route or “Chevron” Sign

The chevron sign is positioned to warn motorist of a sudden change in traffic direction. That is, they are positioned at places where traffic makes a sudden change in its direction, such as bends in the road or at a roundabout. The chevron pattern pointing in the direction that traffic has to turn.

Just like the “No Stopping” sign, this sign is placed along roads or streets to instruct drivers to keep driving or keep their vehicles in motion and not to stop. The difference is that, this signs allows a motorist to stop – to drop off or pick up a passenger, etc. Staying longer than necessary can be viewed as “waiting” or violation of the No Waiting instruction.
