Its been exciting reading everyone's story and man, I am super pumped about the prospect of joining this thread as a 'bonafide" member shortly.

Anyways, I'm here to solicit for information regarding marriage certificates in Nigeria. I am aware that this thread is the wrong one to post this, however, I am looking to leverage the wealth of information from the diverse contributors to this thread.

I recently got married during the lockdown at a Local Government Registry, followed by a church ceremony. The certificate issued from the registry bears "Intergovernmental Marriage Certificate". Shockingly, further checks on Ministry of Interior's website https://ecitibiz.interior.gov.ng/home/FAQ says's the following:

My question thus is, are marriage certificates issued by Local Government Registry's recognized by the Express Entry program, or do we consider recertifying our registry certificate with the Federal Ministry of Interior?

PS: I should add that the church, CAC, issued us their branded wedding certificate but I am not certain about its validity for immigration purposes.

I did everything that was required of me. Got admission, paid tuition fees and applied for visa through vfs abuja on September. Got my passport end of December . The embassy denied my Visa because According to them i will migrate. After months of stress and lots of money spent. Thats bad

How can a couple that got married few months to their tier 4 visa application prove genuine & subsisting. No shared utility bills, council tax bills or joint bank statements as we are not really used to these stuffs in Naija.

Pictures from engagement ceremony, dating pictures etc.

No you cant, unfortunately.
Tier 4 visa holders cannot engage in business or be self-employed, and the definition of self-employment includes freelancing, consulting, etc.

Not even remote jobs as a student? Working from the confines of your Studio?

Start with CEH if you are new to Info Security world, next by CISSP and CISM. While CISSP and CISM are common requirements, CEH launch and prepare you well for security world. The rest ( GIAC, OSCP, Cisco-Security etc) are better done when you have a grip understanding in area you what to specialize.

If you're not sure you'd have the funds up by then, you should respond to their email stating, your most convenient day.

Nice info though and it is promising, but CCNP Security and CCIE Security cannot be written in 6 months though but can be ACHIEVED just to put more clarity. CCNP security is achievable in 6months but CCIE Security is the expert level which can take a year or more of intense studIies. The route can be CCNP security, other security certifications and finally CCIE Security.

Well , going for 2yrs program may be a waste of time if doing menial jobs is the reason but if upgrading yourself is the reason then you are good to go . Here are my reasons.
1. During your first year, you may like to focus more on your studies without learning extraordinarily

2. For IT students, the 2nd year maybe used to read and sit for international certifications to add to your CV e.gCIsco CyberOps Associate
CCNP Security
CCIE Security
Certified Ethical Hacking Certification
GIAC Penetration Tester
Offensive Security Certified Professional
The first 2 can be written in the pace of 6 months
where the last 3 can be written in a space of one month . It's like(using one stone to kill birds)
3. As an IT student, 2 years even without seeing where to do intern ..... is an advantage to learn and you may even decide to leave uk after your studies if you wish.

this is part of my view for 2years option

Save you graduated with a First Class, chances are you can’t get a realistic perfect combination of the bolded.

Weigh what your deal breaker is and go with what gives you the best combination of realistic makers.

This admission cycle tho, schools with the highest fee discount that I know of are;

Cardiff - 5k
Lancaster - 5k
Sheffield Hallam - 2k
Hertfordshire - 2k
Warwick -2k(selectively)

Also guys, admission is not a big deal as it as been made to look like. Please understand that unlike our clime where we have to know someone to get regular things done, in most institutions, a simple email or call can clarify whatever questions you have.

Just do well to visit the page of the University or course, read through the list of requirements.

Check if you meet at least 80% of those requirements

Identify those that are non-negotiable

Send in your application and hope for the best.

Trust me when I say that, there’s almost nothing an agent wants to do for you that you can’t get done by yourself. The only difference is, are you willing to know as much as he does, and ask questions when confused?

Hi Cyberknight and all. I got admission offer MSc Advanced Security and Digital Forensic at Edinburgh Napier University and MSC Cyber Security at Sheffield Hallam University and currently at cross road on the one to go for. While Im somehow inclined toward Napier due to course contents and also concerned about things things around like possibilities of getting part time job while study, job after the programme, which of the cities is more affordable etc. I need this comparison to conclude of the one to go for. I will really appreciate your advise. Thank you.

Both courses are certified by the GHCQ, as such you’re covered on education accreditation. What should then inform your choices should be

- City ( Active or Slow-Paced living) - checkout reviews on StudentRoom, Quora & Reddit.
- Check Indeed, UCAS or any other job site for what the market is like for Security related jobs.
- Compare the cost of living, if you’re on a budget. You can check Studentcrowd.
- Lastly, I’d strongly advice that you speak to alumni’s of both schools, preferably on LinkedIn and ask questions(lots of it).

I’m sure with the above you should be able to make a better informed decision about whose offer you should go with.
