good morning gurus,
scanned my car yesterday and got fault code saying misfire at cylinder 4..cnt remember d code naw but I read d description from d scanner.
the mechanic is saying its either d plug at 4 , coil or something bout d wires.
I wana do d repairs dis week but I need expert opinion b4 going ahead.

This is an easy fix,r mechanic is right.He will just need to check all the component on cylinder 4 and erase the code after the necessary repair has been carried out.

I have been to so many places and most of them have only 20W-50.

My car is Lexus RX330 and it is written in the manual that it should use SAE 5W-30(and also on the cover where you pour engine oil).
I cant find this type of engine oil.

How do you advise I drain the Dexron so as to ensure its completely drained from the box...

+ I have been trying to call you back since yesterday, your number is still not going thru. If you have another line aside the airtel I can reach you on.

I will advice u get the ns1 fluid first and then find a mechanic to drain out the dextron fluid completely and refill with d the ns1.

I drive a Honda accord 2002...I experienced similar issues, scan showed bad knock sensor...my Mecho said its d tranny which I have changed cos he said scans are not always accurate. I still experience it though

That your scan result gives knock sensor code doesn't mean it must be a knock sensor issue. Any issue that can cause detonation/pinging can also trigger knock sensor error code e.g EGR issue , engine running lean etc .What matters is the descriptive text that follow the knock sensor issue .E.g "Knock sensor circuit malfunction'' really means u have a sensor issue or connector issue.

I forgot to add, this same problem came up almost a month ago but then on examination, I noticed the negative terminal was so frayed that only 2 or 3 filaments from the principal wire actually touched the terminal. I changed that terminal and the problem disappeared- or so i thought. I noticed the car couldnt start when i wanted to put it in the garage this morning.

sometimes while driving and i get to slow down or when going up a hill my car hesitates for a while ( small jerk ) .

What i mean is that , when i remove my leg from the gas pedal maybe on a hill or when i slow down ,and i want to accelerate again , it goes a little bit back and forward .

This only happens when am on a hill or when i slow down , every other time its fine .

Please Advice !

If u scan and scanning doesnt reveal anything related to this issue, run data stream to check ur fuel trim and check ur fuel pump pressure.

Please i need help as regards a recent vibration in my car , i had my ball joint replaced 2days ago , while doing that i realized my break pads have been over due for change , so i changed all of them .

Just after the break pad change my car started vibrating once it reaches 20km .

I spoke to the mechanic and he said my break disc is worn out , so this causes an imbalance between the disc and the pad .

He said the vibration occurs because of the little space between the disc and the pad , and that if i use the break within 3 days d padding should be balanced or i should get new break disc to make d disc and the pad balanced .

I'm scared because i doubt if the break pad or disc has anything to do with this vibration , please kindly let me knw wat step i can take to resolve this , as 3 days back my car was perfectly ok.

Ur mechanic is right , u can resurface the disc if it is not seriously warped

For no 1 point ,car with bigger and with more power will be a fuel guzzler machine than smaller engine e.g v6, v8 engine will hit harder on ur fuel than v4 of same engine all other thing remain constant

And what abt using the AC?

As long as u are slamming ur throttle down at a fast rate will have bigger effect on ur fuel consumption .If u need to accelerate ,do it slowly and gradually, try to keep ur rev low and try as much as possible to maintain a constant speed below 100km/hr.This action will save ur fuel
