Praxtech:Sorry sir ![]()
|
achymmania:If you are in lagos ,contact autologic @ signature below |
tetralogyfallot:For 5 speed automatic transmission 722.5 ,Manufacturer specification is ATF134 ,look for good brand atf that bears that specifications like pics below
|
Praxtech:Star ,liquimolly etc are brand name not atf oil specification |
David275:For 112 engine ,as depicted in pics below ,cylinder 1 and 3 are on the same bank ( left bank ) Hope this help
|
Let continue from where we stop with the case |
afesco:Wen the car goes off ,check the right side of the tank for fuel and if there is none then it an indication that it is the fuel pump jet pump that is not sucking the fuel into the appropriate compartments .Get the oem fuel pump and it's hoses. |
HVILLE:U can look up our address or contact me the contact on my signature below. Nisaan/Infiniti is one of our brands we handle well. |
Wondering why everyone is calling ecu wen their mechanic is clueless about fixing an issue ,just a single strand of wire from a o2 sensor or any sensors touching the wrong place is enough to ground a car from starting .And by the time u swap two or more brainbox and the issue persist then it logical to conclude that it not about the brainbox but something else that your mechanic cannot figure out .Simply move on to find good tech to bail u out cos that clueless mechanic will do more damage of if allowed to continue with this blind quest . |
Euforia:State your location and we can recommend good tech to check it up 4 u. |
Jademimah:Vehicle will normally generate more heat on idling but will generate less when on speed cos of increase of ramp air that flow directly towards the radiator and the rest of the cooling system and so to compensate for this increased temperature, the fan will automatically come on to bring the temperature down to optimum value which means it a system under controlled . But in your case of overheating on idling ,something is definitely wrong, the controlled system has been compromised with fault and like I always point out ,let have some metrics of the overheating by retrieving data of the highest temperature attained issue to aid decision making . Hope I am able to address your question well . |
skywalker240:Why not if it something very obvious. |
Analysis of pix above : The coolant temperature pid on the scandata was able to get to 107 degree as depicted on the picture and even continue to rise further till the extent that we even have to stop engine so as not to create further issues. Hence with this little experiments, we have been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the vehicle is indeed overheating . And with this data too we can actually use it as a guide when the issue has been successfuly resolved . As one of my mentor says " let your data guide all your troubleshooting step and you will record greater success ![]() |
toba1909:Nice one. |
From where we stop, we are on the scan data and we want to replicate the overheating complaint by confirming truly if it is so. So running the engine for some for considering length of time and at the same time monitoring the engine coolant temperature data pid on our scan tool .(there is no temperature indicator on the dashboard This is the result we got shown in pix below

Happy new month everyone ![]() Let me use the opportunity to update the thread . |
boombah:None except routine cleaning of pollen filter and ensuring that only qualified technician touch the ac system incase of repair cos kazeems and road side guy will mess you up big time. For any ac issue that come their way ,they don't care about any troubleshooting but their own technique is to turn your much better technology of automatic compressor that they don't understand to crude manual compressor that they understand . |
boombah: lol |
boombah:Is it possible for you to collect your compressor back cos I am sure your old compressor is still ok .The likely problem you might have might to deal with the blend doors servometer motors . I run a workshop around ikeja /agege axis ,(nigeria airforce mechanic workshop, onipetesi bus stop, after ikeja along ) you can always contact me . |
boombah:What a waste as I am sure the sophiscated made vdc compressor must have been changed to the crude manual type and still the problem persist, this is what u get if patronize half bake kazeem that their hand is always faster than their brain. change your mechanic and tell him to scan the ac system and check the blend doors. |
2special:Thanks sir |
aryzgreat:unfortunately all data supplied here can not suffice for the overheating complaint, Vehicle will need to be seen physically to conduct further test. Are u in lagos |
Going tru the list of dtc paraded by the scanner, we can see codes related to engine temperature.wait a minute, timing code is even among the list of codes retrieve!!!! ,is it part of scope of customer complaints, ?? How does the particular code affect the complaint at hand ? we will need to perform further test to see how the effect on the complaint if it part of the complaints or a fresh hidden issue .
|
Lest I forget let retrieve all the dtc codes that is found on the memory to see if we can get a lead from there as well, remember quantity and quality of data gotten made a lot of difference for better analysis .let limit to the engine section only
|
Let now replicate the problem by runing the vehicle till we can now experience the same complaint customer made . Just at that particular situation,we can retrieve the following pids on our scan data 1. Engine coolant temperature ( to confirm the temperature) 2.Ignition timing ( engine pinging)
|
Let start start with gathering our data from physical inspection first : 1. After the engine has cooled down and the coolant level was checked,it was discovered thst the cooling system was drastically low in coolant. 2 the radiator fan was runing direct 3.No evidence of leak of coolant was found on any part of the engine bay 4. Sorry for the use of word "coolant" cos customer is using water ( another red flag ) Lest we forget repair history too from the customer, repair history data is too important neglect . 1. Customer just gotten the vehicle few weeks back, and this same issue has occur like 3 times inside traffic and no repair yet done by him ( according to him ) Data ,data ,data and more data, the more the better for better decision making welcome to world of data analysis for automotive application . |
eddy2farm:I don't really advocate for diy on ac and electrical system cos u can easily injure yourself and even cause more issue to the system than necessary as u are not trained for this and u don't properly understanding on how this stuff works where u toying is jst too sensitive. That is is not way to check for pressure sensor ,checking the pressure pid on the scanner will suffice . Stop disturbing yourself if u don't trust mechanic around you ,jst take your car to part market for parts swapping, |
Also we need to establish if there is truly an overheating cos this is just an ordinary alarm on the dash which can be a false report due to a faulty dash ,as we don't twant to waste resource going down a wild goose chase and even if indeed there is an overheating, is it the one that is causing the engine pinging or vice versa? So many questions that need answer , Every data gotten must be subjected to test and confirmed for accuracy . Let get to work |
Taking this complaints tru our diagnostics process and strategy . We need to confirm and replicate the customer complaints for proper understanding of what we are dealing with . we abide with this principle: You cant understand nor troubleshoot what you cannot replicate . So this will necessitate seeing the issue as reported by the customer But before we dive into replicatiing the problem we need to plan the strategy of the diagnosis first and that we involve getting some initial data. |
A 2008 mini cooper n55 with customer complaints of engine making pinging noise and annoying overheating alarm showing on his dashboard whenever is his in traffic .
|
toba1909:Don't change any part until u have gone for cooling system pressure test . |
tetralogyfallot:This is an assumption taken too far ,it can jsut be one of the possibilities that the owner can check cos same symptoms doesn't automatically translate to same culprit wen dealing with modern day vehicle . |
