Cambodian actress, Denny Kwan, has been banned from working in the entertainment industry for a year, over her Facebook posts that was deemed too raunchy.

The 24-year-old actress who has starred in several movies and music videos was banned by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts’ disciplinary council for failing to keep a written promise to dress in a less sexy way.

In May 2016, she was ordered to be 'educated' by the ministry about her clothing after raunchy photos of her went viral.
In a statement released through The Phnom Penh Post, the chief of the disciplinary council, Chamroeun Vantha, said that the council members decided to punish Denny Kwan by not allowing her to take part in any activities in the entertainment industry for one year, such as filming, karaoke and singing performances on TV after she violated the code of conduct of artists in the country.

Responding to the ban, Kwan accepted the one-year ban and promise to be less sexy.
'I know it’s my right to [dress how I want], but our culture, Cambodian people, cannot accept it,” she said. “I will try not to be [as] sexy as I usually am when I post on Facebook.'

According to the rules for girls in Cambodia, women showing their body part is deemed shameful.

Governor Wike and wife make purchases at Popular Port Harcourt Market

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike  accompanied  by his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike on Wednesday visited the Creek Road Market  in Port Harcourt where they made purchases amid cheers by traders and market women.

The Governor  and his wife arrived the market in a bus and walked through different parts of the market where they negotiated and paid for wares of interest.

The governor and his wife bought cooking oil, beads, wrappers and household  cooking items.

As the governor and his wife  paid for items purchased , they joked with the traders , assuring  them that his administration  will  always  work to promote  their  welfare and interest.

From the Creek Road Market, Governor Wike and his wife proceeded on project inspection in Port Harcourt and Obio/AkporLocal Government Areas.

They inspected ongoing completion work at the Woji- Akpajo Bridge  where the contractors  are putting  finishing touches to the rails and walkways  of the bridge.

After inspecting  the Woji Akpajo Bridge, they proceeded to the Second Nkpogu Bridge  where the contractors  have completed  work and are currently  engaged in piling work by the bridge side .

Governor Wike expressed satisfaction  with the quality of work done by the contractors in the two project sites visited.

In her effort to tackle herdsmen/farmers clashes in the State and to ensure that criminals face the wrath of the law, the Benue state police command received report on Saturday 22/04/2017 that herdsmen destroyed cassava crops and inflicted matchet injuries on a farmer ,one Dennis Nongu in Logo LGA.

The policemen in Logo swiftly responded and arrested two herdsmen namely; Ado Yila and Halti Tambaya both male in connection with the crime. They would soon be charged to court

The body of a 17-year-old boy was found hanging from a tree in Okohia community, isiala Mbano LGA of Imo state this morning.

Details on what led to the boy to commit such an act are still sketchy but investigators have been called to the scene to ascertain the series of events that occurred leading to the boy's unfortunate demise.
