Japaul is falling due to the whole suspension and manipulation fears not necessarily any prediction.
You can argue all you want.

I said it was no longer going to do above #5, you were expecting #1000, now it's on offer at #3.80, you're explaining.

It is a scam.

If you want to come to the market come through an Initial Public Offer or an Offer for Sale
Let's not paint them all inone brush.

Listing by introduction should stay.

If snything, we need more depth.

Think about opportunity cost always as an investor. There is no point insisting that you can only make it with one company when there are many better options. Always know when to move to other opportunities.

Releasing 100k units would be a loss unless the person wan to do sadaka
loss kwa? the problem with Airtel is the dual listing which results in a huge chasm in values quoted in both market.

SEPLAT is almost 4x in price, yet people still release 100k units.

SEPLAT has also suffered long periods of price stagnation due to this dual listing as well. Like over 6 months with no movement.

He needs serious connection to get 500k units
Wow.. connection again?

Why didn't the promoters of the business just list at N7 or higher if they had such strong reception that would make their stock require connection to get 😁

I missed Zuchi because I was busy with other money matters. CHAI. I don't like missing such opportunities especially when I broker dropped messages for me as regards that..Got to findout later
Do you really think you could have gotten more than 2m units? Given that the entire Os is 600m units and brokers also matkettted to other people.

So N18 net gains on 2 million units is just about $26k.

I would say that's too lean to matter to your portfolio size.

Cos you should be making much more on a daily basis given your portfolio size.

My point is, someone like you shouldn't actually be pained concerning Zichis, cos the max you could have made is still a negligible amount.

There is a reason why we have what is called " blind faith". Majority of us that are religious are culpable of blind faith

We have people who reason/ rational even though they are people of faith. I belong to this group.

Unfortunately majority can be termed gullible.

Enough said on faith and miracle alert from the stock market
I agree, let's add that qualifier.

Blind faith
Feigned faith
exploitative faith
etc, they're indeed in the majority.

People know they are speculating but they will pray and hope that it should come out fine when the probability is 5%.

It is a well known fact a number of ponzi schemes are marketed in Faith based organizations and a number of the victims that I know are religious and tongue speaking people. I don't want to believe that there is a very good market for highly gullible people in such places
The problem is that you decide to attribute their failure to Faith, when it's indeed their gullibility.

Are you trying to imply that Faith is a synonym for gullibility, if you are, you're wrong, if not, then call out their gullibility as the cause of their failure.

If you see a set of 1000 people who are stark illiterates but put on lab coats or scrubs and claim to be doctors, would you trust your treatment to them and later blame their fatal failure on the medical profession.

Using labels of pastor or blasting tongues doesn't make a set of people people of faith, any more than those scrubs make those illiterates doctors.

Like many faith based organizations, their Pastors and followers who lost money to ponzi schemes and other unsustanable investments
The titles don't imply the substance.

If your generator mechanic calls himself Engr Taofeek, or Dr Taofeek, does that make him an Engineer or a Doctor indeed.

Please call out dumb people for their dumbness and stop using the precious phenomena they feign.

Religious people and people who invest with faith and not facts are the easiest people to scam..

A smart shareholder of Ellah Lakes should have known by the end of January 2026 that the offer was not successful. Based on the content creation antecedents of the company, they would have created enough contents on the social media to show and entertain the investing public that have gotten the N230 billion
Not everyone who invests with Faith.
I invest with Faith and I'm sure my YTD returns in percentage terms are probably double yours.

Faith in its real essence actually does the impossible, the problem is a lot of shenanigans are branded by people like you as Faith.

If it doesn't work, then it wasn't Faith, real Faith produces unbelievable results.

I hope the tax gurus in the house will help answer questions in this hypothetical situation, I don't have a full understanding of the Nigeria new tax law yet

Mr A portfolio hit 1.2 billion in 2026. Instead of pulling out the fund from NGX , he decided to use the money to buy BONDS on NGX

Let's assume he bought the bond at face value of 100 Naira at 17% interest rate. Mr A felt 17M per month is enough for him , so he decided to stay away from the market for 3 years , he just dey enjoy life with 17M monthly proceeds from the Bond

After 3 years Mr A decided to sell this Bond and pull out the money completely from NGX

Considering the base year effects, if he decides to sell at discount, let's say 95 Naira , will the tax man , tax him , knowing that he is going to get less than the principal. Will it be treated as a loss ?

Scenario 2, if he decides to sell at premium, let's say 105Naira , what percentage of tax will he be subjected to. How will the tax be calculated

Tax gurus in the house, over to you Sirs and Ma'ams.

Thank you
You'll pay CGT, and it's independent of the price you trade the bonds.

It's a function of how much of that 1.2bn is your profit.

If N500m for instance, you will pay roughly N120m as taxes.

I never share a bias for or against any stock, cos I trade every liquid stock.

If I see the right signs on Japual for instance I may even still buy today, then sell off at a small margin, that's my whole strategy grin

Based on yesterday's notifications, the multiple X-ALERT Issue seems resolved.

Anyone who got multiple notifications from yesterday's trading should please mention.

Please note that a bid for 1000 units at 2300.00 for instance, which got filled as 500 units at 2300.00 twice doesn't count as multiple notifications.

Or 200 units 5 times, still isn't multiple.

Detecting the issue wasn't straightforward. I'm glad I detected it, escalated and it now seems resolved.

I expect 200m+ units on FB not ₦200m
Yes sir. That's exactly how I interpreted your message.

N800m is less than what folks here can easily absorb.

200m+ . Full Bid
Okay sir. Technically that's not enough liquidity for say 10 people here. But if it's sustained, then it's better.

All the noise is for new guys in the business
Tomorrow's order book will give more clarity.

If bids go below 150m units, then the momentum might be waning, and offers will then likely show up.

If you have a large volume, you have to sell into strength. The largest volume exit typically ends a round of bull run. Then another round could build up. If someone else exits before you, then you could be running 10-20% short unless you are in for the medium/long term
Yes sir 💯💯

If smart money makes 40% in a week, what else do you expect? grin
The holders of that 80m units, why couldn't they just wait one more week to make 2x?

Except they don't see that happening.

Or if they have much more to offload.

8m units would have been a better figure to see.

Anyways, the NGX defies logic everytime, so there's that too.

But people who queue early and at max price should find it easier to pick up from tomorrow.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 4:55pm On Feb 19
I've changed my projection on JAPAULGOLD.

I can no longer say affirmatively that it will go above #5.

That's on the basis of it trading over 80m units at 3.66 today.

Not that this matters to those holding, but I made a statement about it going above #5 earlier, now, I no longer have that view.

Thanks, I didn't also know about the brokerage house part. In other words, any brokerage house can decide to favor their customers with any orders emanating in-house before the public can have access?
Yes, but i wouldn't phrase it as the house favouring their customers, I think the matching algorithm is just set up to match in house first, it makes settlement easier.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 2:01pm On Feb 19
Valthegreat:
There's something I don't understand in the trading pattern for stocks, if you check the market list for Japual you will see a long list of trades that has happened today but for 3days now I have been queuing at the maximum amount without getting any so how is the matching done?. How come over 100 bid has been matched with offers today but some bids will go through and others will fail, is it by first come first served or how does NGX determine whose bids to match first. Gurus in the house I need your help.
Are you able to place bids at 09:30:00:0000?

If not, it's likely that there are already 50m bids at maximum price too and at that precise time, they'll get filled first before yours can be filled. And since Japaul isn't even doing up to 5m units in sales, you see why it's next to impossible to have yours filled?

Except someone in thesame brokerage house as you decides to sell, in which case, the queue can be bypassed in your favour, but even then, you still have to be the earliest bid from that brokerage house.

Will go above #5.

I have 0 unit though, but I've been right in this market many more times than I've been wrong.
