Depressed101: Igbos wanted a president not a vp, so it was natural that they snorbed PDP presidency You want Igbo presidency so badly but u could not support your own son Peter Obi to be VP. Very illogical.. The South South got the presidency through the vice president. If the South South had rejected the VP post in 2007 they would never have produced the president in Nigeria. Go and learn about how the Yorubas the rolled out the drums to support Buhari and Osinbajo in 2015. It's mainly because they were given the VP slot. It was a rude shock to me to learn that the Yorubas gave more votes to Atiku/Obi than the Igbos despite the fact than an Igbo was on the ticket while no Yoruba was on the ticket. This is shameful. Let the APC give it's presidential ticket to Igbo and let the PDP pick a Northerner with a Yoruba deputy and see how the Yorubas will support the PDP because of their son. I expected the Igbos to learn some lessons from the Yorubas. |

As for uduaghan,he was never strong my friend.all his exploits was because of ibori.even as a governor ,he was politically humiliated. Not everyone will defect with umahi but most will move with him.ebonyi is apc If u understand politics well, u would understand that prior to his defection from the PDP, Akpabio was a stronger politician than Umahi is today. dukeprince50: Except the SE will agree to take a VP position, I do not see PDP winning 2023 election. my reasons are because most people see Ipob as Igbo thing just like they see Boko haram as Northern thing and with the hatred, lies and insults from Ipob on other states and other states on Ipob, it will be difficult for a SE politician to win 2023 presidential election with PDP as a party, cos the north won't vote them after all the name calling and making PMB government hard. The west and east are like two parallel lines, and recently SS is getting divided, so their only stronghold is SE and some part of SS.
Meanwhile if PDP gives it to the North, PDP may loose their stronghold, which is the SE and that isn't too good, this will make most politicians from SE move to APGA and APC.
PDP might win some states in gubernatorial election but may never win those states in presidential election. PDP option is to give it to SE, they may not win(no one knows) but at least, the SE deserve to get the presidential ticket, but if they don't win 2023, the party will be loosing its supporters and also its value, it will be difficult to win future election after 16years of not seeing ASO rock
APC on the other hand, had no problem with zoning as long as it comes to the South. There are a lot of heavy weights in the South that can win presidential election, any day any time. 2023 is going to be tough, I wish to be alive till then Let APC gives it's presidential ticket to an Igbo and let PDP picks it's candidate from the north with a Yoruba deputy. You can now predict the result even before the election is conducted. If the Igbos want the presidency, they need the right approach and build bridges and not by blackmail. |

Politics › Re: How PDP Is Losing It In The Southeast. by Ayed44: 2:21pm On Nov 12, 2020 |
Nwadiuto247: PDP will lose a lot of vote in the southeast in 2023 election due to the following.
The 2015 and 2019 voting pattern in the South East was a kind of protest vote against APC who they see as people who cheated Jonathan out of power. With Buhari out of the game in 2023 the voting pattern will change and PDP will lose a good number of it's voters in the South East to APC.
2. The rumour of killing of igbos in Oyigbo is another factor that has dampen the excitement the south east have about Wike and PDP.
3. The defection of Gov. Umahi to APC will lead to more defection before 2023 and this will affect PDP. Votes in the SE.
The days of 5% APC and 95% PDP in the South East are over.
APC has more visible projects in South East than the PDP but PDP gave South East more appointments than APC so each of the party has something to compaigñ with in the southeast.
The Southeast is now a level playing ground for both parties. All this just because of Igbo presidency. Agreed that in the spirit of fairness there must be Igbo presidency, but I would advise the Igbos to use wisdom so that they would not loose their place of honor in the PDP. If the APC ticket is given to an Igbo and the North retains the PDP ticket, there would be higher chances that the PDP will win the election and the Igbos will become orphans politically for the next 30 years. We need wisdom! |

Mide3367: So that Tuesday night, I just came back home from my cucumber and ugu farm In ibeju lekki with my immediate younger brother around 8pm when the news of soldiers killing people filtered out into the Internet. It was all over whatsapp status, Instagram, Facebook, telegram DMs etc. I was alarmed at the gory pics I saw with a whole lots of videos. I slept with heavy heart. I woke up in the morning of Wednesday and still felt terrible about the incident that a whole 78 people were killed. So later in the evening, I visited a guest who came from Abuja. Then I raise the matter and he asked me a question. "Mide, this is almost 24 hours. Have you seen the names of the dead people posted? Have u seen people like reno omokri circulate videos or pics of the dead? Even nnamdi kalu with his minions all around the cyber space couldn't get a verified names, videos, pics etc to post and make Global too. So where is the prove that's 78 people are massacred? I was immediately brought out of my emotional reasoning to a logical reasoning. Immediately I created a thread on nairaland and a lot of people insulted the hell out of me. I posted on my status, friends DM and when I tried proving a point, I was blocked. I posted on twitter and got more insults. I was evicted from about 5 whatsapp groups where people respected me. So where like I know this guy he isn't like that perhaps his account was hacked. As if stands now, I have lost my friends due to this matter. I wish we can get to the root of the matter. Thank God someone like omotola also posted something similar to mine and she was bashed. And I am sure a whole lots of followers unfollowed her before she deleted the post on twitter. But I am still holding on to my stance about the matter till I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt. I rest my case. I have #sorosoked my own oro By Mide I have a simple question for u. Please answer it with all honesty. Did u believe there were shootings by the military at the lekki toll gate on the said Tuesday night? |

festacman: Conscience is an open wound, until truth can heal it.
I am beginning to believe that the use of soldiers instead of riot policemen to disperse protesters who were disobeying lawful curfew at Lekki Tollgate may be wrong but the impression that masaccre and genocide happened was a big lie. There is no way trained soldiers would have shot directly at scampering protesters without the Lekki Tollgate being littered with corpses. Yes, the soldiers used maximum force but they obviously shot to scare and disperse and not to masaccre as emotional social media hype conveyed.
Truth will set you free and it doesn't matter if you are rightly an angry youth.
29.10.20 was neither a massacre nor a genocide but an unnecessary use of military rather than riot police to disperse resolute protesters. What exactly are u trying to defend? Was there any shooting by the military at Lekki toll gate? If yes, did anybody die? Answer that question and stop beating about the bush. |

But what these folks do not know is that chasing Sowore for this reason only makes the protest look political, i.e. pro-GEJ/PDP and anti-PMB/APC. Sowore is a politician and it's very dangerous for a politician to lead a protest of this magnitude. If Sowore is allowed to hijack the protest, the FG will then tag the protest political and the FG will now have a valid reason to forcefully clamp down on the protesters. Some people believe that Sowore is angry because he lost the presidential election to BUHARI. |

In Yorubaland, we also have our own apprenticeship system. But in our own apprenticeship system, the servant will religiously serve the master for a number of years and thereafter it is the servant that will still pay the master. After serving the master for the agreed number of years, the master will now demand for money and some other items to do what we call "FREEDOM", after which the master will send the servant away empty handed to go and start from the scratch. Most servants may never be able to raise a start-up capital in their lifetime. Isn't this wickedness?

What are the prayers of ANDP? The ANDP was after its exclusion and not proving if its candidates were validly nominated or qualified.
Bottom line, INEC has no power to disqualify or exclude a party from participating in an election because it doesn't screen candidates of parties contesting an election.
Nigerian judiciary is a mess. ANDP failed to submit the name of a candidate within the stipulated time. This means they had no candidate for the said election. And if a party doesn't have a candidate for an election, INEC is duty bound to exclude the said party from the ballot. |
