Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by ayotami: 10:23pm On Jul 06, 2023
Hi all,

I intend applying for visitor visa for my mom and will like a family friend to accompany her- this will be group application.

My questions are:
. what are the chances of getting the visa for my family friend?

I have evidence to show our relationship (pictures etc) as the said person lived with my parents and I until he got married and now has a family of his (a wife and two children). You know how you have friends live with you all their lives with your parents taking responsibilities- unfortunately no legal adoption was done so I he’s not a family member. I believe putting his kids and wife already stands as a strong tie back home should the visa be approved.

. I intend to sponsor both the friend and mom by proving my SOA. Is this advisable?

. My spouse recently applied for his mom and brother- their visa is approved and we are expecting them this summer. Will this visitor application impact that of my mom and family friend?

Finally, please feel free to share other insights that will be helpful.

Thank you!

Good day all,

Is there any thread for Canadian Super visa application? I did use the search button but couldn't find any specific one. I'll appreciate if I can be directed. Thank you!

Can I get letter of good standing from pcn if I haven’t finished my internship?

You can swear an affidavit that you're not currently licensed to practise and send this in place of licensing statement. I did post a sample sometimes back but I don't have it again. Try search for it. All the best

You PEBC ID should be available to you within 24-48hours after completing your PEBC payment. I didn't include my NAPRA ID in my ECA form, just the PEBC ID. I used my SOR (Both BPharm and PharmD) because my certificate wasn't out and I had no hassle at all. I've gotten my ECA already.

cc ayotami

Thanks for pointing that out. I just assumed it has to be the certificate. We learn everyday on this journey. Cheers

Please while sending my documents(transcripts, licensing statement etc) to PEBC, should I include both my PEBC and NAPRA ID. I'm asking cos I am yet to get my PEBC ID but already have the NAPRA ID?
Also can one use his/her SOR in place of Certificate if the certificate is not yet ready for collection?

You can use your NAPRA number if you don't have PEBC number now but do note that you'll need to quote the latter for subsequent correspondence. I don't think you can use you SOR as the official site says your certificate should be one you can hang in your house meaning the original certificate issued by your school.

Thank you so much for this response...i wasn't expecting a quick response...truly NL is the best. I also wanted to know something. What date of licensure should i fill in the NAPRA gateway....my date of induction or the date i got my first permanent license? A lot of people here mostly have years of post nysc experience and I'm about to pass out from NYSC. This issue has been the delay behind my initiating the evaluation application. embarassed

The date on your provincial license which is the date of your induction

Greetings everyone.... I started from the first page and read all night cheesy to get to this last page and i can wait to share my good news. Please i need help with these e-fam
1) anyone did PEBC evaluation with work experience from NYSC and internship and partime locum jobs? Please could you share how you worked it out?
2) Also who has a reliable contact with UNIZIK transcript processing and verification.
3) Please i need help with things to read and know for IELTS so i go in and smash once....I'm pretty tight on budget
Thank you ❤

I assume you're preparing for PEP exam or results are not yet out. In that case, you'll need to get a statutory declaration that you're not currently licensed to practise and this'd serve as a replacement for letter of good standing. Also, u have seen people do this and got their ECA report.

I've attached a copy of what could be written on the affidavit. Number 1 should be your name and Number 2 probably your phone number

Hello everyone, please has anyone experienced delay on receiving PEBC evaluation acknowledgment. I sent an email and got no reply. My application was delivered on the 18th of April and still I have not gotten any acknowledgment email. I check my inbox and spam mails regularly. I need advice. Thanks.

I doubt if you'd get an acknowledgment mail except in special cases were you are asked to send additional documents. What you can do is to send a mail and ask to know whether it was received. Also, have you sent all other documents such as transcript, licensing statement or statutory declaration as applicable to your case. All the best.

Your maturity date is June 13 which is quite close
I don't think it will be a problem for you.

Those attachments are not for me, just that I also did Tbills with GTB, and the clause is generic, this appears on the Tbills cert of all applicants who transacted with GTB.

Good day,
Please I need help as regards a case of rejection I saw somewhere else concerning Tbills a certain person submitted as POF which states and I quote:

'the treasury bills will be held by Nigerian International Bank Nominees Limited as Custodian on your behalf; upon maturity, proceeds will be credited into your account with us.

Please note that the bank is not obliged to purchase this security if you wish to sell it before maturity. There also exists a possible erosion of principal invested should market forces cause unfavourable fluctuations of yields and the security is sold before maturity date’

I'm concerned because I've exactly same clause on my certificate too and wouldn't want to experience same issue as I'm post-AOR.

What advice would you give in such instance in order to forestall an ADR or rejection: should I pro actively liquidate the Tbills and leave it in my account or FD

The attachment below is for someone else, it was shared on a group my friend belongs.

Hello all,
While I was in paid employment in a regulated profession from 2014 to 2017 (which I have claimed points for), I had a side business as the MD/CEO in the same profession although using someone's license. When business picked up I resigned and faced my side business in the capacity of MD/CEO/additional duty. This technically means i was only the owner from inception till date while I was in full time employment somewhere.
My question is that do I breakdown my duty in personal history as 2015 to date (MD/CEO) and 2017 to (MD/CEO/ADDITIONAL DUTY).

I hope I'm making sense. Thanks in anticipation.

Pls house, I got ITA sometimes in March and need to respond by first week in May. All documents are ready except for Hubby's international passport which we have applied for renewal since February at Ikoyi and yet to get a new one. Also, the old one is expiring by July. Is it safe to respond ITA with the old passport (which would have less than 2months validity by then) and evidence of payment for new one. We intend to then raise a webform to add his new one once it's out. I hope this move is wise and there are no negative implications. Or are there better solutions that can be adopted asides this. Pls save a soul. Thanks.

Congratulations to all recent PR clinchers. All the best.

Oya oooo...you people should gather round. It's my turn to testify. I've been reading people's testimony since part 3, now it's my turn grin

God has finally freed me from the shackles of IELTS (shudders at the mention of that test) after 3 attempts.

As a pharmacist, I've written extremely difficult exams
in pharmacy school and passed them all. Never have i imagined I'll be humbled by an examination in my lifetime.

Actually started preparation very early, around june, cause i wanted to "blast the test in one sitting ". Started with listening and was doing excellently in all my practices. I however concentrated more on writing, since almost all the 6.5 I've been seeing on this thread has always been on writing. Registered for November 10th with MOD after almost 5 months of practice, so you understand how high my confidence was. Well.....

1st attempt: LRSW 7,6.5,7.5,7.5.

The 7 in Listening was understandable cos somehow, mysteriously, i just panicked in the middle of the listening test and couldn't follow the conversation. There was this sudden urge to get all the answers right that made me panicked.

Reading, however, was a shock. shocked i could have sworn I'll get a 9 in it. If not for the listening score, i would have reqiested for a remark.

Surprisingly, writing turned out better than i had expected.

Well, i shook that one off and registered for the next one, this time with intense focus on listening.

2nd attempt, MOD, LRSW 7.5, 9, 8, 7.

this time i was completely devastated cos i was very sure of, at least, an 8 in the listening. I followed every part of the conversation and was totally calm throughout the test. This one so angered me that i applied for a remark. Still awaiting the outcome though. My 46k must return to me cheesy

I gathered all my life's savings and registered for the 3rd time. It was hell surviving without a single penny. By this time i was so used to the listening tests in the Cambridge series that i could predict the answers. So i delved into youtube and Practised all the tests i could download.
Went for the exam and....

Congratulations Pharm. As men of honour,...

If she doesn't have the work experience how then did you get crs 431 initially. Using the earlier stuff I got a score of 382.

Uwc[/quo

Sorry my bad, I misconstrued the foreign work experience. She actually has 3 years as a teacher. Sincerely, I didn't know what I was thinking.

We still need to boost her point though grin.

sconp:

If she maxes out IELTS with the above criteria her CRS score would move up to 441 (this is assuming she has 3yrs+ foreign work experience).

With the current IELTS score and a PGD certificate she can evaluate the cert with her BSc as two or more certificates can send her CRS to 465.

She doesn't have foreign work experience and even with a max in IELTS she falls short the current ITA points. We'll look at a PGD. THANKS

Thanks for the advice. My fear is her discipline which is Industrial Chemistry. I'm wondering if it would be easy for her since she's no idea of accounting except for the basics. She currently teaches in a primary school and thinking of enrolling for EARLY CHILDHOOD EDU in Unilag, but we're not sure if she would be able to claim 2or more certificate with it since it's a PGD.

pls, house help as time is ticking and a decision needs to be made ASAP.

Thanks

Congratulations to all the ITA recipients.

I would appreciate if a solution can be provided for a friend. Here is her case: age 24, IELTS result 8,7,7.5,7 in LRWS, BSC. Based on the CRS she has a simulated score of 431 and she's looking for how to boost her score. From NOUN, she found out she isn't eligible for a direct MSC Information Technology and has to do a PGD first which she's not sure what point it'd give if positively evaluated. The main contention is how can she boost her score and what programme can she enrol for that would be positively evaluated by any recognised body. Thanks in advance.

Pls, i have researched the thread and seems at wits end because of the info available here. Also, I saw a post about someone using a PGD from Caleb university but we have limited info as there's no way to contact the school directly. If anyone has any useful tips, we'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hello guys. I'm here to encourage someone. I got my results today
Listening 8
Reading 8
Writing 7.5
Speaking 7.5
This is my first attempt although I have been studying since April and I'd to do in depth research and mastering. Please never give up.

For the writing, I had to use a lot of parallelism in my sentence and I didn't use any memorised structure. Please, just be as natural as possible: I believe this is what gives you the native speaker flow. Also, make your writeup as concise as possible as the lengthy it is the more likely you're bound to make mistakes.

Good afternoon, I appreciate the good work here. As I await my ECA report, I feel I should start gathering my reference letter from previous employers. For those of us who worked with HSC-HEALTH SERVICE COMMISSION LAGOS STATE- where do we get the letter from: unit or the commission? I intend to claim points for my NYSC so do I get letter from the local government I served with or the Primary health care board LAGOS state as my PPA was a Health Centre. Please note that I am a Pharmacist. Thanks in advance.

Elfmannisback:

The migration points are the same but if job duties are for pharmacists you may have do that of ur B pharm. with its specific body (PEBC). If you have a non-pharmacists job and duties, just evaluate the M.Sc with ICES or WES.

This is my understanding and take.

Thanks for your time.

@ the gurus in the house. Please I need information on the right thing to do. I have been following the thread and already preparing for IELTS, WHILE AT it I have decided to apply for ECA.
I am a Pharmacist and I have an M.SC. Initially I thought to have my masters evaluated because the institution I graduated from is closer to my place of residence unlike my B,PHARM where I would have to travel down to the institution to request for transcript. Travelling at the moment is currently not possible.
My major challenge now is that I intend to apply using my experience as a Pharmacist.
Should I go ahead and evaluate my M.Sc, then apply stating my occupation as Pharmacist or should I just evaluate my B. Pharm.
I look forward to positive responses.
Thanks
Note the M.Sc is still pharmacy related.
