Obinoscopy: Thanks for your insightful contribution. You might be right about the fact that a giraffe is different from a kangaroo. But despite their differences, we can still pinpoint one or two similarities such as:
They are both herbivores
They don't lay eggs but give live births
They are warm blooded
They not domestic animals
They thrive better in the tropics
I could go on and on

With all these points, definately a zoo can keep those animals together if he so wishes

Despite the obvious difference between the north and the south, there is still some iota of similarity (african hospitality, black race, extended family based social system, etc). This is what needs to be emphasized upon

Obinoscopy took the debate like he was actually talking to people sitting in a "Nairaland Hall". Great delivery - also throwing rhetorical questions to the audience. I think he diverted all the blames to our leader while there are other cogent points like human resources, geographical influence and so on. Kudos!

Kats was very logical and in-depth. More like a thesis He took it from the scratch and gave it a good finishing. Kudos. But I think its was kinda lengthy. His further argument shows how really in-depth he is. I say kudos, again.

Truth be told, the amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorate was a costly mistake.

To corroborate this topic, I wrote an article around March after the Catholic church was bombed in Jos. As it stands, those who brought us into this mess, our colonial masters, are facing the same problem. Scotland, the oil-rich part of the UK wants to be on its own. Although there are some similarities between a Scot and an English man, the differences would always give them a terra firma to have their own sovereignty. Unlike the Scots and every other Britons, there is no pinch of similarity between a Southerner and a Northern. The difference between them is as vast as the difference between a giraffe and a kangaroo . I mean, u can't just bring groups of people with an extremely different culture and religion together under the same abode and expect peace. No. People invest somuch ego into their culture, religion and territory that it could make cannibals out of them!

News are the economic data that is released at a particular time, like the US GDP was released today. For example the number of jobs created in the US is always released on the first Friday of every month, if the number is higher than expectation, it goes to show that the economy is good and more people are making a living. U can bet that the USD would rise because the dollar will become strong. U get?

Well, I was able to buy Loonie this morning cos it broke the 79.50 resistance and I'm gonna give it some close monitoring while I watch the debate. I have this urge that it wont touch 80, though.

Oil has been going jagajaga. When its haphazard as it is now, a Bollinger band on oil seems to be the only saviour, it screams buy BUT still patient on it.

Would be stalking Gold till the US election ends cos e be like say investors want Romney. If the guy no win there might be drama on the Dollar which ofcourse would affect Gold.

LONDON (Reuters) - Apple Inc lost its appeal of a ruling that its rival Samsung's Galaxy tablet computer did not copy Apple's registered tablet designs in a British court on Thursday.

The world's two leading smartphone makers are fighting over patents, both for smartphones and for tablets, in courts around the world.

The decision is valid throughout Europe and should prohibit further legal disputes between the two companies over the design of tablets such as the iPad in the region.

The Court of Appeal upheld a British High Court judgment that despite some similarities, Samsung did not infringe Apple's design, in part because its products were "not as cool".

Samsung welcomed the decision saying in a statement, "we continue to believe that Apple was not the first to design a tablet with a rectangular shape and rounded corners".

Apple was not immediately available for comment.

The company has been instructed to run ads saying that Samsung did not copy its registered tablet designs, both on its website and in selected newspapers.

Apple can appeal to the Supreme Court.

"I expect this will be the end of the line. An appeal to the supreme court is in principle possible but there has been no indication so far that Apple plan such an appeal", Darren Smyth partner at eIP, a specialist IP law firm, told Reuters.

"For the design of tablets in Europe this should be the final word."

debosky: Ify I understand your position but it's hardly realistic to blame people's breeding habits on child labour. The man doesn't decide to impregnate his wife thinking someone will employ that child as a househelp, and if he did that would be his irresponsibility and not any other person's.

Even something as simple as the 'withdrawal' method can be used by people who can't afford contraception and the like, and I am certain he can afford condoms as the next cheapest option. There is no excuse for having 7 kids in a face me I face you - the okada man won't be the first poor man neither will he be the last. Simply blaming it on poverty is no longer a sufficient excuse. Even the poorest of the poor now know you can use condoms to prevent pregnancies.

I am not judging the man as I do not know his specific circumstances, but it is not sufficient to just say he is poor.



Won't the kids go to school - state funded primary/secondary schools? Won't he/his wife/kids receive medical treatment at state hospitals.
