Mikeappollo I watched the 93 uefa chmp lge final and abedi did not do shiaaat no be the match wey basile boli score? Abeeeegi if ur abedi was so fantastic why couldn't he lead ghana to any WC OR ANY AFCON win? Ur hero is so self cofident he had to add PELE to his name to validate himself! Wereas jj okocha is so recognizable even blind monks in the himalayas know who he is!

Guy u say jj is all about dribbles? Ok for sake of argument let's compare and contrast jj has dribbling skills, deadball delivery(free-kicks corners etc) passing ability, shot accuracy, vision big game player, has delivered when needed most. As for kanu dribbles yes shoting ability fair above average dead ball skills(pls don't make me laugh) passing ability excellent vision ok big game player? Rarely turns up and u dey compare am to jj? Pesin wey no use mistake score half a goal @ AFCON tourney abbeeeggg. Is jj a nice guy maybe not is he a selfish S.O.B Probably not but give the guy his due his talent no get rival
Sports › Re: Ghana Or Nigeria? Who Is Generally Better In Football by ayusco: 9:10am On May 01, 2012
@topic ghana is better overall than based on their AFCON Won(4 times) and perfomance @ world cup(q-finals).

Abedi better than okocha talent/skill and technique wise!? I weep in twi if u are talking who was more consitent, professional played for better clubs/made better career choices u might have a point but other than that even in abedi's dreams is he in anyway better than JJ. Infact he's not fit to wash okocha's boots let alone tie his shoe laces. Have u seen jj perfomances @ the WC 94, 98, 2002(biggest world stage)? His goals for his modest clubs? Jj at his peak is damn near unmatchable. Dk remember usa 94 against italy, or france 98 against spain, bulgaria denmark? Or japan/korea 2002 against all our group opponents? And u still compare him to odartey lamptey!!? Ah ah na be fair to jj is without doubt the most skillful talented player to ever come out of africa. His lack of laurels/awardsclub wise is down to ill-luck,wrong club choices(agreed self inflicted). I have seen jj disgrace(not just out play o I mean humiliate) world class perfomers like roy keane, luis enrinque, oliver kahn etc at NT level he's won the AFCON ONCE,a silver several bronze medals(note nigeria was banned during some of this period) won olympic gold went and performed outstandingly @ 3 WC. Wereas abedi won one AFCON (as a teenage bench warmer) led ghana to one final and several tournaments of weeping and gnashing of teethcheesy (when he was supposed to be at his peak) won lge titles with marseilles(most of which were tainted by match-fixing scandals) won african footballer of the year 3 times(when the award was being sponsored by a french soccer magazine go figure!) If u even mentioned kalusha bwalya I would have listened to u small but abedi? Mtcwwww abeg abeg
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Epl Team Of The Season by ayusco(op): 5:44pm On Apr 22, 2012
In commeration of the player of the season awards holding today I thought I should drop up a list of top eleven performers for the season here goes

1 Gk. Joe hart(man city
Big strong dependable are just some of the words that describe the england No.1 his sharp reflexes and shot stopping have contributed massively to man city's title hunt. If the "noisy neighbours do win the title a huge thanks would go to hart

2.RB bacary sagna(arsenal)
He has been one of the few bright consistent performers of arsenal's down up season his mostly reliable defending coupled with exceptional runs down the flanks resulting in inch perfect crosses mr sagna has truly established himself as one of the divisions elite fullbacks and for clarification he was absent from the 8-2 debacle at old trafford
3.LB leighton baines(everton)
No frills or thrills with this guy but by george does he know his job which is to defend. His forays up-front with an end product of great crosses shows why he such an invaluable player. His calmness under pressure further underlines the usefulness of this player. Some might say the underwhelming performances of A.cole and evra have enabled him take the limelight but I don't think anyone would begrugde giving the scouser his due.
4.DF vincent kompany(man city)
This belgain is a man mountain personified. Supreme in the air and fantastic on the ground kompany is world-class no doubt. His reading of the game and tactical nous is second to non. A leader of men his performances formed the spine of man city's title push this season time will tell if they will rue his suspension during the hectic december fixtures
5.DF younis kaboul(tottenham)
The attacking play of the spurs may be what a lot of people say pushed them this high up the log but a steady resilient backline has been the fulcrum for which this season performances have been built. This has been led by no other than kaboul. He has been spurs ever present in the revolving door of defensive pairings(king, gallas, dawson).his improved reading of the game and dominance in the air has made him a shoe-in for this list.
6.DM alex song(arsenal)
There's only one song and arsenal fans are singing it. The camerounian has been one of the shinning lights of arsenal's iffy season. Usual tough tackling together with his ball winning abilities make him a formidable opponent for any team. With the departure of fabregas his ball distribution has stepped up though not always coming of the few times it has shows he is not far of becoming the complete midfield general.
7.AMF paul scholes(man u)
The ginger ninja what more can one say about the living legend his persona might seem dull uninspiring but definately cannot be said of his onfield play. His return to the man u set-up has been most timely galvanising a creativity shy workman like man u midfield while providing a steady mature hand. He may yet help propel them to the title.
8.AMF cabaye(newcastle)
The goals of demba ba/cisse and skills of the irrepressiele ben arfa may have caught the eye but the meteoric rise of the toon army has been down to the guile technique and efficiency of this frenchman. Apart from his midfield play his fair chipping in with goals could still land his team in the champions league. One can only dream eh?
9.FW silva(man city)
The spanish genius burst out of the blocks with man city in the early part of the season slaying all before them. His skill and trickery at unlocking opposing defences was amazing if not scary. His performances helped steer man city especially during the whole tevez.
Though his performances have dropped abit it would be sad if his brilliant plays doesn't earn him a winners medal.
10.FW wayne rooney(man u)
Wazza was looked upon as being the main man for united this season and he has not disapointed. Goal scoring selfless team play have been the hallmark of his performances this season. Finally stepping out the shadows of berbetov and chicarito and becoming man u's top scorer. His goals might yet clinch them their 20th league title.
11.FW rvp(arsenal)
Who needs batman when you have got robin? What would the gunners have done without him? Definately not third place and I shuder to think the depths they would have plunged. His performances this season have been bettered only by messi and ronaldo past and present winners of the ballond'r. He has shown his critics that when fully fit for the season he's undoubtably an exceptional world class striker. All hail the flying dutchman

Politics › Re: Can A Corrupt PDP Government Ever Hold Free And Fair General Elections? by ayusco: 5:58pm On Feb 26, 2012
@kobojunkie ACN led govt conducted lagos local govt elections last year and they won with a clean sweep of chairmanship and council seats (even though reports had it that PDP was winning in someplaces) because states hav the autonmous power to conduct local govt elections in their respective states the govt(party) in power will appiont members of the state electoral body(note not INEC) to hold elections where the ruling party @ state level always win so therefore parties like ACN LABOUR ANPP are just as guilty as PDP in organizing sham elections

i'm no oil expert but from the reasons given by FG for 'subsidy' removal i can't just fail to come to the conclusion that they are making the poor masses of nigeria pay for their inefficiencies. light(though improved) has not gotten to a stage where we do not need generators which means paying more to fuel them. i have this question if our refinaries are working optimally can they meet our daily demand? cus i'v heard there will still be a huge shortfall of btw 50-60% hence the need to import

Sports › Re: Amodu Or Siasia? by ayusco: 12:12pm On Oct 09, 2011
@honeric still go for sia1 cos of style of play. u mentioned 2002 wc qualifyers yet u forget to state the good fortune amodu had liberia was leading the group until ghana beat them we snuck in last time 2010 mozambique beat tunisia we squeezed through again don't get me wrong amodu did well for us and was unfairly treated but his coaching style (negativity) would eventually fail but siasia's style (positive attacking play) giving time and defensive discipline would yield results IMO
Sports › Re: AFCON Qualifier: Nigeria Vs Guinea Conakry (2 - 2) On 8th October 2011 by ayusco: 5:30pm On Oct 08, 2011
guys know u r all justifiably pissed rite now but lets try and get some perspective sia1 though my pesin messed up today and will rightly be blamed for r failure to qualify that said we missed mountains of chances could easily have been 7-3 in our favour but thats football sometimes his continued use of efe ambrose n yobo has finally been exposed the few times the guineans attacked with intent r defence buckled under think he has learned the hard way that we in no way have a serious backline and should seriously look for replacements. sacking sia1 though tempting is not the solution under him i'v seen return of fluid play and improvement in attack. does he have deficiencies? yes in defence rite now but lets be honest wats the difference btw sia1 n amodu teams? dumb luck! lets all collectively (siasia, players, nff, fans etc) take this on the chin and realise we went good enuf

p.s joel obi should not have been removed that said we scored afta he left we scored know wat they say about hind-sight 20/20

don't know okonjo-iweala from adam but as regards the wikileaks 'disclosure' isn't it curious that it just now when she's back in govt that these accusations are surfacing? looking at the actual leak all it says is that she did this awarded that which any numbskull on the street can do instead we get no clear evidence or paper trail e.g so called brothers real name, bank account, documentation linking 'jon jon' to the finance ministry but what do we get? nothing. nada. zilch. personally if no one can back up this accusation against Dr. Ngozi with hard verifiable facts they should just zip it. if the accusations(which i doubt) are proven to be true i will be first to call for her resignation

with the light issue using my area as a personal testimonial its been fairly improved since may but how much of this is replicated through out the country? as per GEJ overall performance its well below average like nashville said he means well but(for now) looks incompetent. to be fair to him he has appointed some credible people who would hopefully perform well that said he has to man up security wise and stop with da promises just deliver and the people will be your propagandist
Sports › Re: Blessing Okagbare, The 5th Fastest Woman In The World by ayusco: 7:08pm On Sep 02, 2011
nigerian athletics is bad now yes but we should stop giving the impression we were always world beaters in the past. yes we produced athletes chidi imoh, ezinwa twins, olapede adenikan, mary onyali etc who got to olympic and world champ finals but usually finished 5th or towards the last positions rarely winning medals(remember Seoul 88?).

its only atlanta 96 one can say was a bit of a golden generation even that performance (one longjump gold ajunwa, one silver women's 4*400 and 2 bronze falilat 400m & onyali 200m) though good wasn't earth shattering based on international standard yet that was our BEST!

now on okagbare one is not justifying mediocrity but appreciating improvement. okagbare barely a few years ago she was a long jumper now she's competing against seasoned 100 m runners and finishing 5th. i think if she improves on her start she would be quite good.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Is The Origin Of Life? (Atheists) by ayusco: 9:26pm On Aug 24, 2011
hmmm interesting thread as to the question of origin of life i ask this what existed b4 the big bang? what caused it what caused chemicals and what not to suddenly become living self aware beings? tuff questions. as to existence of God its up to ones faith i'm a christian but that does not mean i disprove scientific facts but deep down i believe there is a higher power that can bring nothing into something. but with athiest as much as i understand your questions i think you can not in all certainty say what is and what is not we know that energy is never destroyed but transformed from one form to another who is to say that the human body is not changed into some form science hasn't detected yet? all this my epistle is saying is that there is still so much infinite levels of information/knowledge that we don't have about ourselves and the universe to be categorical about anything. just my two kobos

Sports › Re: Kanu Nwankwo Tremendous Overrated by ayusco: 3:03pm On Jun 12, 2011
hmmm interesting post although i think most posters didn't address the point that 12large made. b4 i continue let me state that Kanu was an awesome player and is a great human being(heart foundation etc.) but based on his records(club & NT) he's abit overrated. i'm saying this without any sentiments doubt me? ok lets analyse together.

1. in his early years in club football he won the dutch lges, cups and cms lge with ajax. in the ajax team that won tthe cms lge he contributed yes but he wasn't their main performer. pips like the de boer twins, kluivert, litiminam, finidi were the go to guys for ajax that season. the uefa cup kanu won with inter it was in a bit part role. google it urselfs 97-98 season ronaldo and zamaro were the main guys. the lge titles he won with arsenal were mostly also in bit part roles. the only trophy that yes he won as the star performer was portsmouth fa cup win. plus lets be honest as a striker his goals record isn't that great even if we overlook that even his assist record is not so splendid. all i can say is that he picks his moments to shine.

2. with the NT i think its the atlanta gold winning performance that has deceived most nigerians into thinking his performances were all that. aside age grade competitions(japan 93 u-17 & atlanta 96 u-23) he has not won any trophies with SE. yes he has won us some crucial games but cost us some as well(remember the game against denmark in france 98 or the penalty he lost against cameroun in 2000 or more recently the WC qualifier against tunisia were he lost the ball leading to the tunisian equalizer?) like i said earlier i admire kanu but his footballing career has been more of good fortune(joining succesful clubs, shining at the right time etc) than consistent top notch displays over a period of time. i guess his come-back from a life threatening let alone career ending heart condition further endered kanu to nigerian fans but as i said b4 he's a great person and i guess deserves every good piece of fortune that comes his way.
