Sports › Re: Nigeria Must REJECT Arab Islamic Referees by ayusco: 6:33pm On Jan 22, 2013
Hmmm rossikk might hav a point. Don't get me wrong I'm not excusing the players for the result they are definitely the architects of their dismal showing. That said apart the Arab/islam conspiracy theories I actually think he has a point. For instance the first yellow ambrose copped if u rewind abit igiebor had been fouled but the ref ignored it and it was that passage of play that led to efe fouling and getting a card. Most 50/50 full blooded challenges were often called against us. Like rossick said for the igiebor foul he got the ball before the man so it would have been harsh to call it a red. Like I said before I'm not justifying their bad performance but such bad refereeing decision can make or break a team. All I think rossick is trying to say is that if u r penalising my team be consistent and do likewise for the opponents when they also commit similar offences

Or even free kicks I find it disappointing that in all our national teams age grade and female teams included we have no specialist free kick taker I'm not talking beckham henry level just a descent bend it over the wall near the post type but no all we have is shoot to the heavens hit it against the wall

Hmmm interesting point u raised. Agree generally with your points though I think guys like yobo omeruo mikel onazi are give or take 2 years their true ages but agree any one who started in the NPL add 5-10 max
Sagamite: Our "youthful" team of child prodigies.

FULL LIST:

Goalkeepers :
Vincent Enyeama (30) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 19.

Elderson Echiejile (24) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 16.

Juwon Oshaniwa (22) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 17.

Joseph Yobo (32) - Started playing professionally in the Belgian League at 18.

Efe Ambrose (24) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 18.

Reuben Gabriel (22) - Started playing professionally in th NPL at 17.

Strikers :
Ahmed Musa (20) - Started playing professionally at 16 and was the highest goalscorer in the NPL at 17.

Emmanuel Emenike (25) - Started playing professionally at 21.

Brown Ideye (24) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 16.

Victor Moses (22) - Only one I can reasonably trust his age.

Ikechukwu Uche (29) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 17.

Ejike Uzoenyi (24) - Started playing professionally in the NPL at 17.

Sunday Mba (24) - Started playing professionally in th NPL at 17.

The NPL is the only league in the world that has 15 year olds making up majority of the players.

Add 5 to 8 years to the ages of most of these players and then you have their real ages.

So the average age of our players would be anything from 28 to 31. That can be an asset if the players are ones that have experience. Nah! Majority of ours have little experience and pose like little boys.
Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Cape Verde Friendly (0 - 0) On Wednesday January-9-2013 by ayusco: 11:20pm On Jan 09, 2013
Hmmm so so match but hey thts wat friendlies r for missed the 1st half but from wat I've seen in this 2nd half stilll not gelled yet. Defence looked much better but echejiele looks out of his depth. Midfield looked better more grit but less finesse igiebor till further notice should partner mikel. Attack looked disjointed everyone just displaying individual play no synergy or communication in all room for massive improvement. In summary its realistic to say we won't win the AFCON so we can all calm down and not watch r team with high BP.

@sambos don't argue with him he's just a player hater uche came into the team barely a year before the AFCON performed above average missed nxt tournament due to injury now count that against him with 'let him perform in tournaments' balderdash someone that's been scoring a goal evry other game. Last year when osaze was missing sitters left right and center against guinea uche came on proved y he should never have been benched by scoring. Wait for nxt AFCONs to judge him no osaze is better based on one flimsy tournament. Guy stick to German footie

Sports › Re: Yobo Replies Odemwingie Over Twitter Comments by ayusco: 5:15pm On Dec 29, 2012
@A-40 again I reiterate wc tournament is uche supposed to shine in when he is injured? Osaze had a good 2004 AFCON yet he missed a penalty during the shoot-out with Tunisia made team of tournament yet couldn't inpire team to AFCON win.
Sports › Re: Yobo Replies Odemwingie Over Twitter Comments by ayusco: 4:25pm On Dec 29, 2012
@A-40 guy I don't get ur reasoning u asked y uche has not performed at tournaments I said he was injured and u said if it was ozase's fault did I say he injured him before? Fact is uche has only gone to one tournament while osaze has gone to four AFCON plus a world cup. So how logical does it sound to you that someone is 'class apart better' than someone who has featured in only handful of games in only one tournament(mind u the same tournament osaze didn't make any reasonable impression) is beyond me
Sports › Re: Yobo Replies Odemwingie Over Twitter Comments by ayusco: 2:10pm On Dec 29, 2012
Injuries have prevented ik uche from appearing in recent tournaments eg 2010 AFCON and World Cup while in 2008 nations cup he only started one game against Ghana in the quarter-finals. He was the one who won the penalty that yakubu converted

All this osaze is a winger bla bla bla how come nsofor has more goals in SE than him while spending less time in the national team? I give it to osaze he has done his bit but his fan-boys should stop with all the stories as if he was the eish.

Funny stories u people are just posting. Anyways me thinks Newcastle and milwall(shittu matter) are playing with fire cos based on what I read in the FIFA articles both players if not released for the AFCON would be unavailable for the club during the period of the competition plus 5 days. Even more ominous for the clubs they could also forfeit results for matches played during that period.

@honeric picked emenike as back up incase of injuries loss of form. Ameobi yes he's getting on but I feel he would bring his team mates ala ik uche into play. Kinda like heskey for England some yrs back. Like u I agree he is not one for the future stop gap measure at best
Sports › Re: Who Should Make Your 23 Man List For The Nations Cup? by ayusco: 6:39pm On Dec 24, 2012
@honeric interesting list OK here's mine

GK: enyeama, ejide any home based player

DF: echejiele, yobo, ambrose, shittu(hope he decides to come to camp), kwanbe, oboabona, egwueke/omeruo(whoeever impresses btw the two)
NB: if shittu turns down the invite then egwueke and omeruo enter

MD: mikel, igiebor, onazi, Obiora nwankwo, rueben, ogude

AK: ideye, emenike, musa, Moses, amoebi, ik uche, uche kalu(I watched him couple of times during our qualifiers looked decent just needs time and exposure)

Starting xi: ejide(big size looks more composed than enyeama), yobo, ambrose, kwanbe, echiejele, rueben, mikel, igiebor, musa, Moses, ideye(unlike emenike is little bit more dynamic) sorry ik uche super sub for now. Note this line up is for tougher opposition eg CIV, Ghana, Zambia(4-3-3)
Starting xi(2): ejide, yobo, ambrose, kwanbe, echejiele, mikel, igiebor, musa, Moses, ik uche, ideye. Note: for weaker opposition or risking to play attack (4-4-2)

I was following osaze's tweets as they were rolling in my first reaction was that of non suprise cos he is the kinda pesin who wears his heart on his sleeve. before I comment on his outburst I think keshi handled the matter badly. He is not just the coach but manager of these players as long as they are in his care. He could hav phoned him and man to man said u r not in my squad for reasons xyz then watever would hav been said woulda stayed btw dem so I think he messed up in that respect. Now to osazes tweets I am huge fan of his so it pains me to write this about him but his tweets came across as that of an arrogant spoilt brat. I think he shld take a good look at himself y its always him having issues with evry single coach. In his tweets he said lagerback didn't play him yet he was one of the first to hail his appointment. Amodu that played u you critized him publicly abt his team selection. With siasia frm wat osaze's tweeted I can only infere that you never gave him his due respect as ur coach hence Him also treating u like a junior player. Now with keshi again the issue of respect u can't b dictating to him who the captain or leaders in the team should be. Its by ur performance n influence that would determine who is a leader. Guys like oliseh yekini finidi earned the right to brag cos frankly speaking his performances for the NT were not earth shattering. Yes he did his bit but compared to martins nsofor even yakubu wey we no like he hasn't done as much as dem to be bragging about. Honestly I can c y keshi left him out cos he brings a lot of negative energy to the dressing room and evry coach worth his salt knws that goin into any competition u need a united front with minimum distraction. I think when the dust settles osaze will regret the tweets he posted
Sports › Re: South Africa 2013: Keshi Picks 32 Super Eagles Players For Faro Camp by ayusco: 12:03pm On Dec 22, 2012
OK list (if its real oo) suprised by rabiu ibrahim's inclusion but I guess the more midfield options the better. Kinda shocked by martins n osaze's exclusion but understandable. Its a brave decision guess he is keeping faith with the players he has been working with only little snag I would have called apam instead of shittu. Shittu is good too (love his fighting spirit) but I feel apam would hav brought more quality to our leaky defence
Politics › Re: What Is Wrong With Having Buhari As The President Of This Nation? by ayusco: 10:20am On Dec 08, 2012
First of all(pls don't say go down low) I believe Gen.Buhari is a man who cares for his people especially of his constituency. He's stubborn self confident and genuinely believes he is the to lead Nigeria out of the quagmire she's in which is an honest aspiration but for me personally I won't want him as my president here are my reason

1. He overthrew a democratically elected shagari led goverment now he wants to benefit from a process he initially didn't believe in
2. Some of the actions/policies of his military regime were not well thought out IMO eg jailing of all political leaders without first establishing proof of their crimes, subtle hints of ethno/tribal sentiments supreme military council made up of mostly northern members, shagari who as president was in charge of everything you put under house arrest ekwueme you threw into the gulag
3. His illogical defence of abacha that he stole nothing I mean c'mon! You can be friends with the man no one begrudges you that but to defend him? Smh
4. Under abacha governance was at an all time low infact a lot of if not most of the country's problems emanated from this period yet Buhari saw no wrong in their regime infact served as head of ptf that also later turned out to be a cesspool of corruption the irony!
5. Now assuming we choose to ignore the above points OK last year even my humble self said OK let's give the General the benefit of the doubt in the debate leadding up to the presidential election his answers to various questions on how to solve modern Nigeria's problems left me unimpressed. Is it on power that he didn't even know how much megawatts we were generating in 1999 or his assertion that are educational system is OK. Nor did he give concrete answers to how he will solve our over reliance on oil
6. Then the utterances of the General betray him as being so desperate to be president as a patriot he feels justifiably he can do it but for one reason or the other he hass been rejected I would have expected him to mentor push others to try and vie for the presidency but no Mr messiah complex himself won't allow it
In conclusion no doubt this GEJ administration has so far failed to live up to expectation but to replace him with Buhari in 2015 won't solve our problems because in my opinion his attributes and style of governance (based on his military regime and utterances out of government) can not confront the challenges of a complex multi-ethnic and multi-religious country as ours. The opposition should work hard to pick a better candidate as that alone will be able to beat this PDP behemoth

Hello house don't often comment on issues especially regardin a rival club but this torres debate is so intriguing. I can understand the point of his supporters that's its unfair to hold him solely responsible for the teams general play. That said how many times has chelsea's play been so bad that torres would fail to perform? Few n far btw but yet he is still playin like some youth teamer who just made his debut last season. As dk n co hav said repeatedly torres has played alongside some of the best creative types past n present in chelsea and yet he has not shown form to justify his transfer fee/salary. The funny thing is at liverpool that didn't have that many creative players he scored for fun so the xcuse that he doesn't get enough supply doesn't wash. To be fair to him the torres of liverpool is (was?) An xceptional player how this loss of form set in is beyond even many a soccer expert. Sayin all this a club like chelsea will IMHO be better off cutting their losses n selling torres my two kobos
