A winning model for peace, reconciliation ~Omisore The judgement of the Supreme Court today is a great salutation to democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria that all citizens and institutions that seek to protect democratic values must celebrate. In addition, it celebrates the value that our great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), places on its internal democracy and our collective respect for the institutions that protect the progress of democracy in Nigeria. I join all members of the PDP and all Nigerians in this celebration as our party, PDP, reinvigorates our quest to make Nigeria great again. In a short time, we shall restore democratic values and dividends at all level, and reclaim the precious time our country has lost to maladministration and governance without vision by the All Progressives Congress (APC). By the grace of the Almighty, this period of poverty, maladministration and mismanagement of our economy will soon end. As we work together in the PDP to achieve this, we shall engage in deep introspection across board and build bridges within and between different groups. It time for peace and progress. It is time to reposition as the largest political party in Nigeria, a vibrant opposition party to reverse the sad turn in the economic and social realities of our people. Without doubt the judgement of the Supreme Court positions the PDP and its leadership away from the period of wilderness, an extreme form of occupation that threatened to divide us. We have learned and thankfully have not been shaken. Together we shall move forward. We shall engage citizens, we shall heal and shall deliver much better than we did before to the Nigerian population. We will commence our journey to restoration with the forthcoming elections. We have learned in Osun that together, the PDP is indomitable. Peace, unity and reconciliation in Osun State brought together hitherto divergent party factions into a melodious fusion to face a common enemy, the disastrous APC government, ending its reign of terror and wide spread poverty foisted on the state by its incompetent state leader, Rauf Aregbesola. Our unity encouraged the disgruntled, traumatized, raped, grounded, dehumanized and abandoned Osun people to simply queue behind us. The result was the 9-1 trouncing we handed APC in Osun West Senatorial District By-election last weekend. That is the power of unity. That is purpose of reconciliation. We must take advantage of the great value in the Supreme Court judgement today - the protection of democracy and the supremacy of the rule of law. We shall take over and win the forthcoming Governorship elections in Anambra in 2017, as well as Osun and Ekiti in 2018. The future of the unborn generations is what today's judgement is about. The tomorrow of the nation and its prosperity is what the Supreme Court has just settled. We must quickly close ranks and be the formidable force of good governance that we have always been. I end with a slight amendment to the popular cliche, "All victor, no vanquished". Nigerians are ready to embrace PDP, having tasted the APC sting. But they must see a united PDP.
