Former Cameroon skipper, Samuel Eto’o is full of praise for his former boss at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola is now the best manager in the world. He also took a swipe at former Inter Milan,Chelsea, and now Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, saying he has lost his magic touch and no longer special. Mourinho was also Eto’o’s former coach at Inter Milan and Chelsea. Eto’o also attacked Eden Hazard when he appeared on French TV show, Telefoot, on Sunday, insinuating the Chelsea star used to be lazy. Mourinho signed Eto’o twice during the striker’s glittering career at the top, bringing him to Inter Milan and Chelsea. The Cameroonian helped the Portuguese tactician win a famous treble while in Italy, although his one season at Stamford Bridge was less successful. Chelsea won the league the year after Eto’o left, but Mourinho suffered humiliation a year ago when he was sacked by the west London outfit for a second time. ‘The Special One’ is now trying to work his magic with Manchester United, but Eto’o insists Mourinho needs to abandon his once-successful defensive brand of football. According to Eto’o, “Jose has changed. I knew someone exceptional at Inter. At Chelsea, it was already difficult, but he has further evolved. http://www.jalupon.com/etoo-praises-guardiola-as-world-best-says-mourinho-is-no-longer-special%E2%80%8B/

The Nigerian cross dresser revealed via his Instagram that he did not rip off the customer who had accused him of a scam. Beauty specialist, Bobrisky, has refuted claims that he ripped off a customer who had ordered for a cream valued at N30,000. Earlier reports revealed that the customer, Timileyin Abiola, contacted Cool FM’s OAP, Daddy Freeze to report the alleged scam. bob The latter had in turn posted an evidence of the transaction via his Instagram which revealed that a payment was made to Bobrisky in October 2016 for the item. In his defense, Bobrisky made a counter claim via his Instagram in a bid to state his innocence in the matter. bob1 He stated in his post that he actually did Abiola who could not afford to pay all the amount meant for the item she ordered, a favour. The customer reportedly paid N30,000 only for the cream according to the beauty expert. He wrote, “This is the 17k prove to back up my evidence that she only paid 30k for just the product. Dis particular one wasn’t included.” Read more at:http://www.jalupon.com/bobrisky-denies-fleecing-customer-of-n30000/

Benin, Nigeria: 29th November 2016 In a move aimed at reducing the import dependent profile of the Nigerian economy, creating more jobs and boosting the local sourcing of raw materials, leading manufacturer and Nigeria’s only total alcohol beverage company, Guinness Nigeria Plc, has commissioned a new production line that will support the local manufacturing of some of its spirits brands in Nigeria. Some of the brands to be manufactured locally include Smirnoff X1 intense chocolate vodka, Smirnoff Extra Smooth Vodka, Gordon’s Dry Gin, Moringa Citrus Blend, McDowell’s No. 1 Reserved Whisky, McDowell’s VSOP and Royal Challenge Finest Premium Whisky. Picture 1 The production line, with a design capacity of 1.2 million cases, is located within the Guinness Brewery, Ikpoba Hill, Benin city. It was commissioned by the Executive Governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki at amidst pomp, fanfare and commendation for this landmark stride by Guinness Nigeria. Governor Obaseki, who nostalgically recalled his long personal relationship with the brand as a stockbroker, commended the board and management of Guinness Nigeria for this feat, and urged other companies to see the current economic recession as an opportunity for backward integration and expansion of their business horizons. “This is a company I am very close to and very fond of, and so, I am quite excited that one of my first official corporate functions as Governor is to commission the new spirits line for the company. We are very pleased that Guinness is part of the landscape of Benin and Edo State, and has been so since 1974. And so, for us, you are a partner, and as a state, we will take our partnership very seriously. Even though the economic environment in Nigeria today is quite challenging and difficult, for us in Edo State, we see opportunities embedded in those challenges,” Obaseki said. Governor Obaseki also used the occasion to announce that the Edo state government would like to partner with Guinness Nigeria to create a minimum of two hundred thousand jobs over the next four years in line with his administration’s agenda. Menopause is the day a woman experiences her last menstrual cycle because her ovaries, which produce eggs, have slowed down. Most women cannot wait to get off the pain, cramps and, most times, the discomfort they experience during menstruation. Yet, when it eventually bids goodbye, many are ill-prepared for the medical and psychological challenges that follow. However, most women have said that instead of relief, they feel less feminine; others even thought they had contacted a disease. Not to worry, doctors have said menopause, which is the permanent end of menstruation, is a turning point in a woman’s life, not a disease. Menopause does not happen suddenly, it is a gradual process, but many women fail to see the warnings, hence they experience complications such as hot flashes and severe issues like heart diseases and osteoporosis says a gynaecologist, Dr. Jeni Worden, “Menopause is a milestone – it’s the day that marks 12 months in a row since a woman’s last period. It most time signifies that the ovaries are slowing down and the woman’s childbearing years are winding down.” Age is the leading cause of menopause, says Worden. She notes that though few women start menopause as young as 40, and a very small percentage as late as 60, a woman should expect to stop seeing her menstrual flow between ages 45-55 years. She also notes that there is no proven way to predict the exact age a woman would experience menopause. Menopause affects women differently, say scientists at the National Institute of Aging. Because hormonal composition varies in individuals, some women may reach this stage with little or no trouble; while others may experience severe symptoms such as discomfort during sex, hot flashes and sleeping problems, which drastically hamper their lives. Worden states that for a woman to manage her health when menopause starts, she must be able to recognise premenopausal symptoms. A major sign that menopause is approaching is a change in menstrual period but this change varies in length from woman to woman. She adds, “Periods may get shorter or longer, heavier or lighter, with more or less time between periods. Such changes are normal,” Sex problems Women complain that they have less appetite to make love or feel much pain during intercourse after or before menopause. Worden says since less estrogen is produced in a woman after menopause this leads to vaginal dryness, which may make intercourse uncomfortable or painful. One of the biggest issues with sex after menopause is that declining estrogen levels can lead to thinning of the vaginal walls,” says Dr. Adekunle Ojulari, a consultant gynaecologist. Ojulari explains that estrogen levels fall as women approach and pass menopause resulting in dryness and thinning of vaginal tissues which causes penetration and intercourse to be uncomfortable for many women. The discomfort can range from a feeling of dryness to a feeling of vaginal “tightness” to severe pain during sex. He says, “ After sex, some women feel soreness in their vagina or burning in their vulva or vagina. Over time, and without treatment, the inflammation that may result from infrequent sex without sufficient vaginal lubrication can lead to tearing and bleeding of vaginal tissues during sex.Between 17% and 45% of postmenopausal women say they find sex painful. This is one of the main reasons why between 17% and 45% of postmenopausal women say they find sex painful,5-8 a condition referred to medically as “dyspareunia.” Vaginal thinning and dryness are the most common cause of dyspareunia in women over age 50.” Therapists on WebMd.com have said using a water-soluble lubricant during love making may help these women. They warn that libido may also change, for better or worse, but many factors besides menopause — including stress, medications, depression, poor sleep, and relationship problems — affect sex drive. “If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor, a woman should not settle for a so-so sex life because of menopause.” Here are other menopausal symptoms that would let you know that your menstrual cycle is winding down: Read more at:http://www.jalupon.com/a-healthy-sex-life-is-possible-after-menopause/

When I was a kid and up till my early teenage years, I easily got confused about types of death in real life. Maybe because of the influence of movies both foreign and local. For example, in the 80’s in a Yoruba film, you would have to see a man shout “Oro o” then foam in the mouth and die irrespective of whether he was shot or poisoned. And to me gunshots injury, drowning, poisoning, getting hit by a car, heart attacks, bombs, knife stabs, karate kicks, falls from sky scrapers and so many of the ‘movie ways’ of dying was an understandable way to die. But when I then heard that people died from malaria fever, diarrhea, asthma, stomach ache, and coughing, causes of deaths which to me didn’t look like real death, I kept wondering how possible could that be? And when I started working, I wondered how some seemingly simple things could lead to death, for example a woman I knew fell of a stationary motorcycle into a small side drain, she took pain relieve and went home, not knowing she had ruptured her spleen from the fall, the drama started the following day when she tried getting up from bed, she nearly lost her life from the extensive internal bleeding that had ensued. ulcer2 Another man, who had been suffering from ulcer for quite some time and who spends 3hrs daily on the road, came back from work and about one hour later complained of dizziness and fatigue, he had been complaining of ulcer pain and had taken medications for temporary relief. Before they knew what was happening, the old man had fainted and was rushed to the hospital where I was and discovered from his past medical history and examination that he most likely had a perforated ulcer. I did a scan and an abdominal tap which confirmed he was bleeding into his abdomen. I told them what my diagnoses was and what it would cost to operate him to fix the perforation. Luckily for them they didn’t argue because I had being instructed that if they would not agree to pay the fee after the procedure, I should refer them to a General hospital. The price was fair, the deposit was less than 20%, and also this wasn’t the time to bargain over money, it really was a matter of life and death. By Pius Adesanmi In my entire adult life, every government in Nigeria has mouthed the platitude of economic diversification. Whether military or civilian, every administration has gone to the Aso Rock Villa screaming her determination to wean Nigeria of oil dependency from the rooftops. Such administrations wax nostalgic about the groundnut pyramids of Kano, the rubber and palm oil days of the Edo/Delta axis, the cocoa plantations and other cash crops of the southwest. You hear of the abundance of solid minerals that we need to tap into all over the country. And patati. And patata. To the best of my knowledge, no government has ever delivered on this promise of diversification. The one and the repeated tragic pattern of Nigeria’s political elite has been to get to the Villa and get drunk on oil. On occasion, they send the Minister of Finance or the Minister of Agriculture or the Minister of Solid Minerals to go and tell economic diversification lies to the international community. Then everybody returns to Abuja to continue to gorge on oil while watching the Avengers on CNN or Al Jazeera as they destroy their own land and people while stupidly believing that they are really destabilizing the oil-derived personal bank accounts of those who really matter in Abuja. You may destabilize Nigeria’s income with your terrorism. Nothing do the personal billions of your real targets. Na mumu dey worry una. However, and still to the best of my knowledge, President Buhari is the only one to have gone to the Villa with a peculiar understanding of the concept of economic diversification as the ability of the Federal government to diversify the supply of oil by finding crude oil in the North, hence the obsessive missionary zeal with which he has been uprooting every dogon yaro tree across the vast expanse of the North, looking for oil. Finding crude oil in the North to supplement or replace crude oil from the Niger Delta seems to be his definition of economic diversification. Truth be told, President Buhari is not the first member of the northern establishment to be fanatical about finding oil in the North. He is just the only one who seems to understand it as economic diversification. He also appears to be the most fanatical about saying to those constantly taunting him in the Niger Delta: “ntor! I now have my own oil!” While it is true that every geopolitical region in Nigeria, every faith, every ethnic nationality, has contributed to the membership of the philistine and satanic comprador elite united by and around oil and corruption, only the northern component of this evil national class has repeatedly borne the insult of being stereotyped as parasites and leeches feathering their own nest with other people’s resources. In essence, although there are Yoruba and Igbo elite thieves (and thieves from other ethnic nationalities) who have spent the past forty years gorging on oil and destroying Nigeria and the Niger Delta in the process, only the Hausa-Fulani oil thieves have been branded in our national imaginary as parasites and leeches. This has a lot to do with their long stranglehold on Federal power and their allergy to fiscal federalism. Any policy, any vision, any strategy that would wean the North of dependency on oil has been taboo for generations of northern leadership. There have also been northern loudmouths in our postcolonial history who, wittingly or unwittingly, have made a name for themselves brandishing their manifest destiny to be lord and masters of the oil. The constant allegations of parasitism is what has haunted the psychology of the northern elite throughout much of Nigeria’s postcolonial history. However, their reaction to this history of jeers and taunts has always been a maniacal and wrong-headed desire to find their own oil at all costs, at any cost, or to bring the oil closer home. A group of researchers have shown that your social status — that is, how rich or poor you are — will also determine how healthy you’re likely to be The scientists, led by an Assistant Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology and Biology at Duke University, Jenny Tung, warn that the difference in life expectancy between the rich and the poor is estimated to be 14.6 years. In other words, the richer you are, the more likely you are to live long. The group of scientists who carried out the research at the Yerkes National Primate Research Centre of Emory University, United States of America, conclude that poverty has the tendency to destroy or alter a person’s immune system. The immune system is made up of a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the body. One of the important cells involved are white blood cells, which combine to seek out and destroy disease-causing organisms or substances... Though he has two lovely daughters from his baby mama, the self acclaimed Egberi papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya, has said he is not ready to tie the knots- at least not for now. Speaking to Saturday Beats recently, Timaya said he promised the mother of his children that he wasn’t going to have kids from different women but then, walking down the aisle was not on his to-do list. “I am not getting married soon. My life is a journey. My career is my journey. I didn’t lie to my baby mama when she was pregnant; I told her I wasn’t ready to get married. I never said I wasn’t going to get married. But at the moment, I am not ready. When she told me she was pregnant, I accepted the pregnancy. She told me she hoped I wasn’t going to be like other musicians who had kids from different women. I told her no. My two kids are from same woman. I know what I am doing.” And now that he is a father, Timaya said it is a wonderful feeling and he loves his daughters so much. “I never knew I could love anyone the way I love my daughters. My first daughter is my best friend. I didn’t know what I wanted when I had her. But I knew I wanted to rebrand. So I had to take off the dreadlock.” Timaya admitted that his mean looks back in the days was intentional and he needed such identity to be in sync with his controversial status. “My dreadlock was a strategy. I wanted people to see me as a rude boy. I couldn’t have been giving all those trouble with a calm and clean face. I wanted a look that would associate with it. Now, people come to me and I smile. “I was happy I was controversial and I was being talked about. I used to struggle to be known before then and I desperately wanted to be known. Finally, they started talking about me. People felt I was troublesome. Some felt I was controversial. Even those who didn’t know my music knew my name. When I had got what I wanted, I felt it was time for me to rebrand.” Talking about his career, Timaya said he has a strong passion for music and has no intention of quitting. “I realised that I have a passion for music. I didn’t go into it because of money; I didn’t see money when I started. I have never thought of doing anything else. I know my life is finished if I am not doing music. If not music, my life is finished. Read more: http://www.jalupon.com/marriage-not-for-me-now-timaya/

The Law Development Centre in Uganda banned a young lady from attending lectures for dressing in a mini – skirt as shown in the picture above. The law student identified as Joanine Nanyange, took to Facebook on Wednesday to protest against the unfair treatment she received from the security officers at the centre’s gate. According to the victim, she said the officer explained that her skirt will distract the boys in her class and make them not concentrate. Read her full post below… Today, dressed like this, I went to the Law Development Centre to attend classes. Unlike all other days, I saw two women seated right outside the Centre’s gate, one dressed in a Khaki Police uniform. It was an unusual sight and I thought there was something or someone epic on campus. I got off the boda boda and walked towards the gate. The uniformed woman flagged me down and being the law abiding citizen that I am, I stopped. She asked me to pull my skirt down to see how far down it could go. I burst into laughter. Her request didn’t make sense. She insisted, quite seriously. I told her that was the farthest my skirt could go and there was no need to pull it. The other woman, ever with a very satisfied grin, told me I could not access the campus because my skirt was not long enough for LDC standards. I was shocked. Yes. Shocked. Seeing the bewilderment on my face, the two women laboured to explain. Apparently, skirts like mine attract the boys and men that we study with and bar them from concentrating. So they could not be allowed!!!!!! During induction week, the Deputy Director of the Centre, a woman, told us we shouldn’t wear clothes that distract ‘our brothers’ most of whom are married. I posted about it here. When I got the so-called rules of LDC, I read the section about dress-code and it’s ridiculous. They even prescribe the colour of socks that men should wear! Having dealt with Ugandan systems, including courts which should know better, I know that until something directly affects you, you are not allowed to complain about it. This far, these rules have not been implemented. Now that they have, I am allowed to complain. A few years ago, 2014 to be specific, Parliament was debating a law that was dubbed the ‘mini-skirt Bill’ for its apparent prohibition of mini-skirts. As would be expected, the Bill caused an uproar among opponents and proponents alike. On one side, there was anger about the ridiculousness of the law along with its discriminatory and sexist undertones; while on the other side there was excitement over the law’s presentation of fertile ground to ridicule and dehumanise women just for the fun of it. Activists stood up against the law and some of these provisions were removed. But the damage was done. Women had been attacked. Women had been beaten. Women had been undressed. We were livid... In Guyana, they did it swiftly under the supervision of Reverend Jones. In Nigeria, we are doing it slowly, painfully, and in installments by gradually surrendering our right to transcendental thought and imagination beyond personalities. Never lose or surrender the ability to imagine your country beyond the immediate predilections and preferments of the political juggernauts of the moment. Trump, Clinton, Romney, Sanders, are doing the calibrations, recalibrations, alignments, and realignments of the present. People are following and discussing these things as they should but if you are an investor in the spaces of American public intellection, you would have noticed that nobody has surrendered transcendental thought to the daily shenanigans of these politicians. There is a much higher level of discourse in which people are imagining the march and future of America in the context of the great themes of the future – nationalism, national choices, globalization, American exceptionalism. Issues are being vigorously engaged beyond these dramatis personae of the moment. In fact, in the context of these conversations about the future and direction of America, personalities matter little, ideas, paths, and choices matter far more. I’ve been very despondent about Nigeria lately. There’s been a colossal surrender of the public sphere to the peccadilloes of transient politicians and other political actors... Lecture by His Excellency President Olusegun Obasanjo At the First Akintola Williams Annual Lecture in Lagos, November 23, 2016 When my sister, ’Toyin Olakunri, phoned to alert me about this Lecture, the telephone connection was poor and I could hardly hear her but I got the name of Mr. Akintola Williams which has always struck reverence and awe in me. Mr. Akintola Williams has seen active days and has been an active participant in Nigeria of the past, Nigeria of the present and by God’s grace, will be part of Nigeria’s future for some time to come. ’Toyin, who was a tremendous help to me when I was in government as she served as the Executive Chairperson of Education Trust Fund, knows that any request by her is taken as an order by me. But that request being made to honour a great man of Mr. Akintola Williams calibre cannot be refused. And what is more, the topic assigned, “Nigeria Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: Governance and Accountability”, is so relevant to the time we are in that it is irresistibly attractive and befitting for an occasion like this where we celebrate an icon, Mr. Akintola Williams, who is a paragon of propriety, rectitude and integrity. This afternoon, I will reflect with you on this topic which will take us on a time travel into a bit of Nigeria’s past, cruising to the present and with a quick peep into the future. African business leader and philanthropist, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu wednesday stated that the time for leadership for youths in the country as well as the continent in general is now. Elumelu, who addressed the students of the Lagos State University, faculty members and officials of the Lagos State government, whilst delivering the institution’s first Distinguished Lecture Series in Ojo, Lagos, spoke on leadership and entrepreneurship. According to Elumelu leadership is demonstrated at all levels of an institution. “A leader is simply someone who gets results” he said, challenging the students to embrace leadership, even at an early stage in their lives, “whether you are leading a team of people, or just yourself, your responsibility is to generate, secure or deliver results. I believe you can be a leader at any stage in your life and career, and in any career path you choose.” Subverting some of the often-held notions about leadership, the UBA Group Chairman stated leadership can be learned, adding that it is important to keep learning and honing one’s leadership skills. You might think there’s no escaping the high—and still rising—cost of college. But at some schools, the cost of tuition rings up as zilch, zero, nada. These ten colleges across the country offer free tuition. At many of the schools, students work a set number of hours in a student work program or, in the case of the military academies, commit to a period of service after graduating. Not surprisingly, the savings for families is significant. During the 2015–16 academic year, the average annual sticker price for tuition and fees for in-state students attending a four-year public college was $9,410, according to the College Board. Meanwhile, the average annual cost of tuition and fees for out-of-state students at a four-year public college was $23,893. Private colleges were even pricier, at an average total cost of $32,405. Although the schools listed here are tuition-free in most cases, students and their families are expected to pay for required fees, room and board, and books. Financial aid is often available to help defray those costs. COLLEGE NUMBER ONE ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE Location: Pippa Passes, Ky. Undergraduate enrollment: 616 At this small liberal-arts college, located in a Kentucky town named after a Robert Browning poem, students from much of Central Appalachia won’t pay tuition regardless of their family’s financial situation. Instead, all full-time students are required to work at least 10 hours each week as part of the requirements for graduating. Across the school’s 225-acre campus, students fill a variety of roles, from receptionists and computer technicians to lifeguards and groundskeepers. Students from the school’s 108-county service area, which spans portions of Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, can expect to spend about $9,590 a year on required fees, room and board, and books. Additional financial aid is available; some students work extra hours to cover non-tuition costs. When they aren’t attending class or working on campus, they can explore the nearby Daniel Boone National Forest and Kingdom Come State Park. COLLEGE NUMBER 2 BARCLAY COLLEGE Location: Haviland, Kan. Undergraduate enrollment: 292 This Bible-centric college on the prairie was founded by Quakers in 1917. Today the school admits students from all evangelical faiths. Barclay’s degree programs are mostly religious—majors include worship arts, youth ministry and missions work—but the school also offers majors in business administration, elementary education, and psychology and family studies. Barclay’s 20-acre campus spans six blocks in central Kansas. All full-time students who live on campus receive a full-tuition scholarship of $12,500 per year. Students may also receive other scholarships and need-based financial aid to help cover the additional $12,490 annual cost of fees, room and board, and books. COLLEGE NUMBER 3 BEREA COLLEGE Location: Berea, Ky. Undergraduate enrollment: 1,643 In 2016, Berea College ranked number 93 on Kiplinger’s overall list of 300 best value colleges—thanks in part to its full-tuition scholarship. It also has the lowest average student debt at graduation of all 300 schools on our best values list. Berea was founded by abolitionists and other reformers in 1855 and admits only students with financial need. The school’s sticker price for room and board, required fees and books after the full-tuition scholarship is $7,742 for the 2016–17 academic year. Located 35 miles south of Lexington, Ky., Berea offers 32 academic majors in the arts, sciences and some professional programs. All Berea students receive the tuition scholarship, which amounts to nearly $100,000 over four years. They are required to work 10 to 15 hours per week on campus while carrying a full academic load. The average family income for a Berea student is $28,652. Additional financial aid is available for students who need help with living expenses, such as housing; among students who borrow, the average debt at graduation is a slim $7,928.
