Are we not saying the same thing? There's no empty land in Aba north and south, so what you are buying is a land and a building which is expected to be very expensive. Aba city is not just Aba north and south it also includes Osisioma, Obingwa, Ugwunagbor and in some extent, Isiala Ngwa south and Asa in Ukwa west. These are places you can get affordable and sizeable land of your choice. In Asa you can get a plot of land of N250k.

Do you know Aba very well. You can get a plot 4m, 2m, 1m and even 500k in some part of Osisioma, Ugwunagbor and Obingwa. Land is too expensive in Aba north and south because you are not buying an empty land rather a land with an old building.

He has really tried for Amaruru n Eziawa n the other Ihite close to Amaruru (I have forgotten the name right now). He is in PDP while the state has been under APC for awhile. These places were considered backwards in Orsu local government but he has been able to draw FG presence to tar most of the road in that axis even though it is a very hilly n mountainous terrains. Starting from Eke- Ututu
I am APC but I give kudos to him. He has done well in terms infrastructure especially roads.

I have a feeling the lands there belong to the government, if that's true there should be a strong stance against land grabbers and any building constructed there should be demolished without remorse.

Please, there is this road leading from Chukwuma Nwaoha, off MCC to Mbaise road, I think the government should look into it. Last time I lodged in that area, I discovered the road leads into a kinda big pit filled with water. If constructed, it'll be a shortcut for people for people passing through MCC road to Mbaise road instead of going to the end and turning.

Bro, the land is duly secured now. That was one good thing Emeka did I love so much. Infact, he fenced the land. But the main issue now is if the present government will give proper attention to it and harness it's tourist potential.

The construction of the site is a very good development and I wish it is put in proper use. Soon, that area will be one of the best area in Owerri considering the river, the landscape and other natural things that are found in that axis. I used to take it as a park until someone said they went there for baptism and the recent interview granted to Rochas on channels television confirmed that it is a pilgrim center. Whichever way, it will be good it is harnessed and upgraded.

Just for 7months Emeka was parading himself as a demi God. Was sacking and demoting workers, closing and destroying projects executed by Rochas, stole the only hand ✋ of God we have in Imo state, removed almost all the beautiful lights installed in the streets of Owerri, wasting time to start reconstruction of Imo state roads until he sensed that he might be removed.

nice one. But the initial creation wasn't a park rather an adoration ground or pilgrim center. You were right when you said you hear negative things about the place before the construction of the Akachi tower. That place use to be an eyesore, dump site for more than 30yrs before it was cleared and built by Rochas government.

It baffled me when Ihedioha wanted to destroy it claiming that it was the owner of the land that made the attempt and the question that came to my mind was; where was the owner of the land since the past 30yrs the land was abandoned and used as a dump site? Ihedioha believed that what was affecting him and his government was coming from the tower and the Akachi.

It will be fine if the present governor converts it to an amusement park as you suggested and built more eyebrowing structures to make it more attractive. That place has potential of attracting international tourist.

Abakaliki has continued to grow and impress everyone that knew the old city. Abakaliki will likely emerge as the most modern city in SE if they meticulously plan the city and open up new housing districts linked to the current city via very good roads.

My ONLY concern with the city now is that there has not been major new housing districts. Much of the city is still within the boundaries of the old city. It is now 24 years since Abakaliki became a state capital. Therefore by now, coming from Enugu, the entire land immediately after the state university permanent site on both sides of the expressway should be teaming with lots of new housing districts by now.

I wish Gov Dave Nweze Umahi will open up new housing districts called "New Abakaliki for all cadres of housing. Use of private developers of estates the way Awka recently adopted should also be considered. New mapped out districts for housing will create a new axis of development for the next 10 - 15 years and ensure the city remains well-planned. Similar to how Chime created Independence Layout Phase II new housing districts and Rochas created New Owerri area.

It was not Rochas that created new Owerri, he upgraded it. New Owerri was created by Udenwa when he cited the state secretariate complex there.
