Arinze96: You all saying come to Aba to withness development;
1. Are you saying Okezie Ikpeazu has performed more than any of the governors in the east?
2. Do you realize Abia state allocation is more than that of Ebonyi state?
3. How would you rate Okezie and Umahi?
3. Are you insinuating that you're comfortable with the status quo in the state?
4. Can you make us see reasons you praise Ikpeazu the way you do?
5. Do you realize Aba used to be among the most beautiful cities in the east, if not the most beautiful? If you agree then, can you mention any city in the east Aba is presently better than?
If you can't sincerely answer any of these questions, I think it will be safe to conclude that you guys are the ones cheering bad governance in the state and therefore, enemies of the Igbo people.
Cc: B2mario, Umueme, Xander etc Bro, the yardsticks you mentioned here is totally irrelevant to me. What's the size of the population of Ebonyi compared to Abia? Though Massob influenced the 2006 census results of Abia state by issuing the boycott policy coupled with political tussle between Orji Uzor kalu and Obasanjoas at then. How many cities are in Ebonyi and what is their sizes compared to the ones in Abia? 3 or 4 new roads dualized in Ebonyi State will be more noticeable compared to Abia state. The picture below was dualized in Obingwa LGA by Okezie while those of us from Osisioma don't even know. What's the total number of dual carriage roads in Ebonyi compared to Aba alone exclusive of Umuahia? How many heavy duty trucks ply the road of Abakiliki compared to Abia? Dave Umahi is trying notwithstanding, but media promotion is equally helping to promote his work. While there's a sort of Abiaphobia where so many people really want to pull Abia and Aba in particular down due to its commercial and local industrial prowess. They don't want to see or hear anything good coming from Aba and southeast in general. The name and stories of Aba local industrial prowess gives them nightmare. I have observed it when I was living in Lagos and even now I'm living in the north. Aba glory is not lost in any matter, the problem of Aba is not the past governors as portrayed here (because even Orji Uzor kalu tried during his regime) but Nigerian factor. Aba and Igbo politicians have been soliciting for the construction of another drainage system in Aba city from the federal government since I was small, long before they used 6billion naira and constructed new one in Ibadan in 2006. Without the new drainage system, roads constructed in Aba will not last because the city is now 5x of it's initial masterplan. This country needs to be restructure. Enugu, Owerri and Portharcourt are facing the same problem. Why did they close the eastern corridors of Nigerian seaports allowing only Lagos to be operating? Why are they playing politics with Enugu international airport? Why is Owerri not given the full status of international airport? 1 Like

The same cheap Ngwa/Ohuhu folly you use to promote and defend mediocrity.
Okezie Ikpeazu became governor same day as Umahi, but the difference is clear.
Okezie Ikpeazu and his supporters are still all in bed with T. A orji their benefactor. Yet any criticism about mediocrity of Ikpeazu, his army of media attack dogs would resort to the old tested and trusted Ngwa/Ohuhu dichotomy in Abia. Ndi na enweghi amamihe. Soon Ndiigbo will start denouncing Abia and her disgrace. There is media promotion of Umahi work while no one is interested in promoting Okezie work. The young man is trying. Aba and Umuahia are swallowing his works. Umahi work is concentrated on small Abakiliki town and a less town of Afikpo. Abakiliki is not up to the size of Umuahia. But Okezie is working in a 6lga of Aba, Umuahia, Ohaofia, Abiriba and Arochukwu. When he's working in Obingwa LGA those in Osisioma or Ugwunagbor will not know. Everybody is seeing Aba as the worst city in Nigeria due to media blackmail whereas Aba is one of the best. Travel and see. No commercial city in Nigeria is better than Aba. Aba is far better than most capital cities in southwestern and North central part of Nigeria. Travel to cities like Okene, ife, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ogbomosho, general area of Ajegunke Lagos, owo, and rest of them and see for yourself. No road, no proper planning, people are building on top of stones and hills with poor architecture. Aba has at least 85% past mark on town planning and good and decent houses. Aba roads are not bad and dirty as being portrayed on social media. And you hardly see ghetto in Aba as seen in most Nigerian city outside southeast. Aba till tomorrow still remain the pride of Igbo land. 2 Likes

We know those who actively or passively support the status-quo and are known to actively work against Igbo interests whether in business, politics or the media! The likes of the Orjis', Ikpeazu and co are just sympthoms of the problem and their like arise when we work with the status-quo and political-economy Nigeria has foisted on us! Dude stop this silly trash you are doing. For a few peanuts from the people holding Abia state hostage (who think through foolish propaganda they can forever rip off the state) you are selling Igbo people down a river. They think they can perpetually run this criminal enterprise without consequence forever because TA Orji got away with it for 8 years.
There is a reason TA Orji’s sons enjoy Abia money in Abuja and don’t spend their loot in the state it was stolen from. Abuja is a real city while Aba is a embarrassment to Igbos and an absolute shitty filth.
What the state propaganda machine doesn’t recognize is that they are destroying what was once the pride of Ndi Igbo. They are harming Igbo people irreparably and erasing our identity as a people.
So many Igbo people around the world would bring investments and prosperity to Aba if only the people holding the state hostage understood how they are throwing away the jewel of Igbo land and it’s massive potential.
Shame on people who collect small pennies from the criminals ruining Abia state and post pictures of wheelbarrow cement mixers as evidence that the “governor is working”
These people are worse than Fulani’s/Yorubas/Buharis etc. that they complain about. Absolutely despicable scum Thunder fire you, what do you mean by small peanuts they are giving me? Is like I'm through with you, imposter. I just posted the current and real pictures of Aba, and you are there vomiting nonsense. 1 Like |

Aba used to be Lagos of the East. If an Igbo man came back straight from USA or a Europe, he could relocate his family to Aba and raise his kids there. 30 years later Aba is an uninhabitable filth. Most big Igbo men lived in the city. Foreigners doing business lived in the city. Today it’s a ghost slum unfit for human habitation
Fulani’s and Yorubas are not the reason why a big city like Aba doesnt even have a single mile stretch of good road.
The governor has his media propagandists post him with wheelbarrow cement mixers and call it working on roads.
I weep so bad for our Igbo people. The foremost industrial Igbo Town is a shame on all Igbo people today. All so TA Orji and his son can keep the state hostage as their fiefdom.
If Aba doesn’t return to what is used to be and even better Igbo people are going to struggle in the south east. Hotels in Owerri and Enugu are fine and all but don’t an economic juggernaut make. The productivity of Aba of the 1970’s and 1980’s makes a productive juggernaut Who told you this rubbish you are talking about. Stop believing what you read on nairaland. No commercial city in Nigeria or Africa in extension is better than Aba. Aba is far better than most Nigerian state's capitals. 2 Likes

Ihedioha is nothing short of devil reincarnate. To think that he deliberately destroyed roads, streetlights and a lot of infrastructure in his quest to wipe off Rochas legacy is something that deserves stoning. Nobody can believe Ihedioha met this road very beautiful with covered drainages and sidewalks lasting over 7 years since it was built in 2012 but told people that covered drainage was poor construction and went on to excavate one lane of the road which Uzodimma has just fixed. Ihedioha was a destroyer and a disaster. It was Rochas that created this road. Instead of Ihedioha to create his roads he was busy destroying designs on Rochas roads. |

You were in imo, I am from imo and go there often. I know the projects Ihedioha began, especially in Owerri Guy I am also from Imo and I will say it again no credit should be given to Ihedioha he was a disaster. You are now claiming that the road contracts Uzodimma is executing were the ones awarded by Ihedioha. Though I don't believe you but the same thing happened when he took over from Rochas instead of him to continue with the contracts awarded by Rochas he terminated all of them and was fighting and destroying everything on ground. What of the 10 new higher institutions, what of the roads contracts, the Imo international cargo airport, the federal high court, the federal prison, the police headquarter, the 27 general hospitals that are not fully equipped? He terminated everything and accused Rochas of wasting Imo state funds on federal government projects, what a myopic thinking. Instead of upgrading Akachi he attempted demolishing it. He stopped all the road contracts awarded by Rochas. And did not do anything except few months to his exit as the governor. Uzodimma is doing well and Rochas did very well. Rochas did not abandoned any of Ohakim projects, he completed the trade and investment center, Amakohia flyover and road projects like the one below started by Chief Ohakim. But Ihedioha is Echeta ebewe, during his time, everyday news of war and destruction, show of power and supremacy. Now that Uzodimma has taken over at least there's peace in Imo. Mbaise will rule Imo again, but let them look for a more polished and right thinking person. As for Ihedioha, he was a devil in a human skin.

During the last 20 years or so, all types of intervention constructions had taken place to stop flooding and destruction of roads around this St Joseph Church area in Umuna, but because the flood control tunnel started by Ikwechegh government to channel floods into the Orashi valley was not completed, floods continue to destroy many areas around the Church.
Hopefully, gov Uzodinma shall complete the tunnel so that the floods problem is solved completely. Oga it's not called Orashi valley, it's called Ogidi valley 1 Like |
