I hate this award just like the world footballer award. It should be THE BEST STRIKER IN AFRICA OR IN THE WORLD. |
he is done with his papa songs. what else do you want him to do since he cant do his own original music. 9ice will soon follow after all yoruba folktales and nursery school poems. I wish him well in another profession. |
My 98 civic averages 14.5km per litre. I have driven a number of cars but i give it to Honda civic until i drive another car with better fuel economy. Another car that saves fuel that i know is Chinese Geely CK. I drove it from Abuja to Lagos with 52 litres about 750km. |
Pls Help. I changed my 98 civic's tie rods this afternoon, then i went to check my alignment and straighten my steering. After the steering adjustment my AIR BAG light refused to go off. All the wires under the air bag assy is intact. I removed the battery terminal for a few seconds yet the light is still on. I hate seeing any light on the dash, pls help, how do i clear it. |
CLEAN CAR. PLS LETS ENCOURAGE PEOPLE THAT ARE BOLD ENOUGH TO POST VIN NO OF THEIR CARS. CLEAN TITLE CARS ARE NOT ALWAYS CHEAP. @FEMI, DONT INSULT YOUR PROSPECTIVE BUYERS. HAPPY SALES. |
@ Find out, you are making sense in respect of Niger used cars. Poster, If you want to settle for a used car, why not look for Golf 3 or Almera or something small and fuel saving. I have Civic 98, very friendly and sharp car. Unbelivable fuel consumption. Dont use ur car for Kabukabu. It will die before its time. You can not enter my car with dirty shoes nor bang my door too hard. I have always sold my cars close to the amonth i bought them. U know customers are always right. |
Pls when is the deadline for the replacement of old plate number for vehicles. Is October still real. |
@ Poster, Do we have up to 5 talented artistes in Nigeria. I think the topic should be '5 Nigeria artistes that should release album' |
25 years, if well maintained (for European, Japanese and US cars) 6 years for well maintained Chinese cars. I do see some early and mid 80s cars around and they still look good for Nigeria standard. The first set of Chinese cars in Nigeria were sold in 2007, not more than 10% of them are still functional. |
If u drive like James Bond. U dont want people to know u have 1 million. Your budget is about 600k. U want to save some money on fuel. A sharp guy and single buy Golf. I used Golf 2 and 3. Camry 99 v6, Now Camry 2001 Both are good but Golf rocks. The only cars i have ever missed are the Golfs |
Factors include: fuel consumptn: fuel is like food to man. If u have to drive u must buy fuel. How thirsty is the car. spare parts availabilty: can i get parts at APO in Abuja or LADIPO in Lag. need to order or not even available. Parts affordability: Can i buy 1 head lamp @ 80k, steering rack 100k.fuel pump 120k Mechanic: Who will fix the car when there is need. Resale value: i want to sell,is it marketable, how much. Others are: Terrain. family size. movement pattern office/long distanc |
what type of brake fluid did u use. If u use the original fluid the light will dissapear if the problem is the fluid. |
flat brake fluid could also trigger that light in some cars. I had similar problem with my camry, the light was there for 6 months. I just decided to change my brake fluid with the one in metal container, the light dissapeared within minutes. If your brake pads are ok try drain ur fluid and replace with original brake fluid it is around N500, per 0.5 litre. |
Thank you guys. I should be able to clean the throttle housing and check the vacuum hoses for possible leakage. I will try that and feed u back. @toba, i will look for that thing. I am afraid of mechanic, they might scatter the entire system. |
Thanks toba, pls i dont know what you mean by vacuum. The rpm is originally low but the effect is not really felt until the A/c is on. Kindly explain the vacuum. I intend to increase the rpm from the throttle assy. what do you think? |
I think next to engine is the gear then the lights on the dashboard. most camry in that generation have brake, ABS and CEL on. Dont forget the floor for water leaking into the car. Infact, 97-01 camry has alot of cons. Bad shocks and linkages etc |
... |
Car gurus, pls help. My 98 civic 1.6 starts fine in the morning, works fine until the engine is warm when the rpm drops to 450-500. Even at that , it does not viberate or jack. But if i use A/C in the traffic the rpm drops further then slight viberation and the A/C will not cool enough until i start moving. My findings suggest IACV ( Idle Air control Valve) No CEL. fair fuel consumption 1litre for 11.6km combined. I dont feel it until i am in the traffic while the A/C is on. Pls what is ur take. |
There is nothing wrong with Niger used car if it is well maintained. I got a reg. civic 4 months ago it is better than my tokunbo 99 camry. I have only bought 2 tyres and battery, never started it twice. Inspect with a professional (not mechanic) and pray for good luck. There are many bad stories even from pre order cars with supposed clean titles. Get a car guru to inspect for u. U will get a good car with little or nothing to fix. |
I worked with Hyra motors for 4 years as a sales man 'The dealer of Geely and Brilliance in Nigeria' Brilliance has Mistibushi engine and Gear box. The body panels are stronger than Honda and Toyota or any other Asian cars. Good on fuel and good interior. The problem is finishing in some interior areas and access to spare parts as well as pricing. Poor resale value. It is smooth and durable easy to fix car. It is the best in China. My unbias opinion as i will never run an ads for Hyra motors. |
very good and reliable car. I have the 98 model with same features. Fuel consumption is unbelievabe. very sharp and cheap to maintain. I have almost abandoned my 01 camry for this little angel. The buyer must b lucky. I dont know the seller as i am based in Abuja, just my experience with the civic. |
@ Femi, Abuja VIo ask more than your papers. If they are determined to arrest you, you cant excape. Among those things they check include cracked wind shield. brake light. wiper. traficating light. spare tyre. license. jack. fire extinguisher.C Caution etc. Every driver in Abuja fears VIO even more than MOPOL. or Road Safety. |
The milage display is in miles. This is a pure American or Canadian car it does not have a seperate dislay for kilometer. 160k miles for a 12 year old car is not too high if well mantained. Buyers always want to be decieved Happy sales |
Your question seems contradicting. Tyning lite or drop light are not 2003 nor Big Daddy. Tyning 97-99 and drop 00-01 have every thing in common except the front and rear lite. You can never go wrong with any of them. only stabilizer linkage and weak shocks. Good cars. drop lite has extra 2 horsepower and dual hydrolic Bonnet support. I dont know much about 03 peculiarities. |
Buying SUV depends on where you live and what u want to use it for. If u are in Abuja and living in town up to Gwarinpa it might be a waste of space and fuel. My only car wont be an SUV when there is tarred road to my doorstep. My opinion. |
@ ikemanoo, Original or fake parts, some cars have inherent manufacture problems. If you want to advertise ur spare parts shop go ahead. I use a honda currently (not baby boy) I enjoy it more than my former and current Toyotas. The key words are proper maintenance and observance. Nobody says Honda is bad, we are saying what we observe from experience. If u have a point to support either of the brands make it. |
The recomended engine oil is 5W30 (SYNTHETIC) Which is equivalent to Mobil 1. It is sold for 9k. If it is not affordable stick to Mobil 20W50, It is about 3k. buy it your self From Mobil Station as one poster advised. |
That is why it is wrong to say my car consumes half tank or quarter tank of fuel to Owerri or to Lagos from wherever. Who knows the tank capacity of ur car. I had a Golf 2 (Syncro) with 80litre tank capacity instead of normal 55 litres. Tell us how many liters ur car consumes over a given distance, @davinchi, i bet ur 08 Yaris consumes more than normal at 1:10. Yaris is either 1.3 or 1.5 litr, even '05 corolla with 1.8litre engine consumes less. |
Major curprit is caliper piston. 'Hand brakes' only work with the rear wheels. |
@ Femi4, pls what is fuel magic. My 97 civic consumes 1 litre over 11.3km. 01 camry averages 9.5km/litre. According to Femi4, if i use fuel magic i can do 100km with 4 litres. After saving 5 litres with the magic. There is little difference in your consumption with or without A/C if ur speed is above 110km/h |
My 97 civic average on 11.3km/l. 01 camry l4 is on 9.5km/l (city and highway averages) I check my consuption every week when i am refuelling. I know exactly how many liter of fuel will fill my tank from my speedometer readings. @ Pak, i dont now of Honda that consumes 1lit. per 19km, that is about 60 miles per gallon. Is it honda motorcycle or Hybrid. |
congrats. I love people who monitor thier fuel. U will soon know the difference. My civic's average consumption is 11.2Km per litre. camry 01 4-cylinder average 9km /litre. The 99 V6 used to average 7.5. U can imagine the difference btw the civic and the 99 camry v6, almost 4 additional km on every litre of petrol Do u still have ur concerto u may need it when u have to do a lot of city runs. Good luck |
