i believe u will go 4 a golf. Nobody drives a golf and regret. u will like to buy another one. You will fix a lot of things by yourself, you dont need a special mechanic. I still feel like buying a golf 3 or 4. I had rear shock absorber for 5 years in my golf 2. brake pads can be as cheap as N700. Good Sock is N3500 and very strong. cheap parts and easy to fix. every thing is open and simple. High resale value is garanteed.

If am to choose btw the 2, i will go for Camry. I am not a fan of either, but camrys 98-2006 over Accord same year model..Honda interior is better but overall reliability is in Toyota. If u choose EOD buy another smaller car in case issues come up. If your car has problems you will not be able to sleep well.

@ojma247, I disagree with u. A well meintained Toyota car can do up to 400k and Honda can do 350k. How many cars come in to the country with less than 100k miles. 90% of the cars on our roads are over 100k miles, and many of them are still running fine. I dont buy or sell cars with respect to milage. What if the engine has just been changed. I know a good car by a mere engine crank and 5-10 minutes inspection.

why is 6 months old car carrying old plate No. Your car may be 2 years and still look good, even like toks. This no was no more available in Abuja as at September 2011. Well, it is possible if you transfered from another car.

The parts are even cheaper than the I4. YOU ONLY SPEND MORE MONEY ON FUEL IF YOU DO CITY RUNS.

The most common car in Nigeria today is Golf. Spare parts is cheap and available with low fuel consumption. I used Golf 2 and 3 camry99, now 01 camry and 97 civic. Of all these cars my mind always goes to my Golfs. They are the most rugged, you can fix many things by yourself. HONDA is a wonderful car but Golf is awesome. Even a bad mechanic can fix Golf. Halla is getting out of vogue, parts are getting scarce and Expensive. Earlier posters never used a Golf. VW means PEOPLE'S CAR.

That Sorento must have been used for car hire. It is rare for a car to acquire 84k KM/50k MILES within two years in Nigeria. And it is owned by a woman. Pls do your homework. I never wanted to spoil ur market. Just my observation.

@ sirMethod u are right, some second hand are better than toks just as some toks are better than Chinese brand new. I bought a Civic second hand and never had any isseu. I have only changed two tyres and battery nothing else. It is better than my 9 months old 99 camry bought toks. There are good registered cars out there, with luck u can get one. Even toks is luck. I sold a perfect registered 01 Camry here last week, the lucky buyer knew he bought a good car.

I have seen more than 50 Big 4 Nothing this morning the exteriors are great and clean. It doesn t loose shape at all. The interior is not too bad if you dont compare it with honda. I appreciate reliability in cars not console or A/C vent or DVD. If you like the design go for it.
A good second hand is about 900-950k which is not too bad.
I dont know the cost of gear box.

I did not want to update again because he wanted to pay on friday but banks had closed and one other Nairalander promised to pay on Tuesday. The car belongs to the first person to pay. It is a good car you will enjoy it. The car goes on holiday with the students. It may be on a spot for 2 weeks.

I have read that calculations many times, it s not always applicable to all vehicles. If you know Abuja very well, a friend lives in zone 2 and has office in zone 1 about 2 or 3 miles away. His car will remain tokunbo after 5 years. you can use a car in Abuja for ten years within Abuja without changing a shock absorber. I only change bushings or shocks whenever i travel to the south.
This car has been used for 3 years.

More than 200 people die on our roads every week, there is no noise because most of them are poor. Only God knows the no of people killed in the 27 vehicles burnt two days ago there was no inquiries to ascertain the cause and prevent a reapeat cos the afffected people are mostly poor. We are all thesame before God.
