Bro, your front wheel wont yank off without warning and obvious signs. I have seen other brands with this issues. The key word is 'maintenance'

Solid and reliable. Cheap parts and low fuel consumption. Good interior and spacious than you think. If you can get US spec EX trim, which is scarce, you will love this car. LX is not bad as well but u dont have ABS and in- dash clock. The only minus I notice is road noise.

if you mean 01 civic and above, I agree with u about issues. But 96 to 2000 civic are reliable, at less than 50% the price of this corolla. I love corolla and intend to buy one soon, but reluctant to drop my faithful 98 civic as a daily driver.

DC has the errors in the EOD corrected. Go for EX or EX-L trim. Cool ride.

@niette, u really need confidence and be punctual with ur customers. I am also a beginner, but I dont disappoint, I will rather surprise u with earlier delivery. Try and pick whatever u can complete within reasonable time. I prefer to reject job to doing unpleasant job or disappoint. Some customers appreciate it. When people like your jobs that means they are good, I like ur spirit. Be bold and straightforward give price and stick to it. These things are working for me.

Women hardly ask anything about engine when they go shop for cars.
Infact, women start car inspection from the booth and end at any of the front seats. Honey! the booth is biiiiig. Spend two hours to test drive a stationary car. But they are generally pleasant and good listeners.
Some men will disappoint u with their zero car knowledge. Some women are even better than few of us.

Women and SIENNA, I have noticed this:
More than 50% of sienna are driven by women.
More than half of those women are short.
They drive alone or along with a friend leaving other seats empty.
Almost all sienna driven women can not reverse on their own.
I avoid parking near sienna, and pray they dont park near me. You are either dented or marked with the door.
My sister almost sold hers when I asked if she needs a space bus with a V6 engine to go to salon, market, or office that is less than 10km to and fro.

@Op, Observations: I could see manual window and the car is 97/98. 99/2000 models have different rear lights and front grill and mostly I-v tec engine.
I have this very type, the most reliable car I have owned. Never stopped once. Last year alone, I went to Kaduna back to Abuja more than 50 times each trip is 410km. Fuel consumption is very low. U wont believe the stability. Happy sales.

When I had a problem similar to that with Golf, the problem was ignition key. It was like when I turned the key to start the car it will start at the point of 'start', any turn after that point will off the car immediately. You know ignition has three points, the last point starts your engine, if it has problems it allows u to turn the key further, even after 'START ' then the car goes off. Your problem may be different, but u can confirm this on ur own, while u await professional advice.

I have bought and used 4 niger used cars and I never had regret on any of them. There are junks in Cotonou as well. I am sure many Nigerians have good maintenance culture, ready and willing to buy and replace faulty parts with original one. People who discourage Niger used cars are possibly not good with maintenance.
@ poster, u could get good Niger used car, but drop the 'full options' slogan. Get a practical car and get some experience in automobile, some brands and models have been suggested. Be patient. I wish u the best.

Look for car doctor here, he has a repair garage in Abuja. Road side mecho's opinions are not enough when buying car, they always want to take advantage of every situation.

That generation of civic is prone to gear box problem. Google: honda civic 03 or 04 prons and cons.

Dan, I think car doctor already answered ur question somewhere. U will feel it, but not a jerk.

bros,i can understand ur ordeal with ur car. I believe 'luck' is part of car buying process, expecially tokunbo cars. In all my years of using golfs I changed shock twice, I dont know how water pump or fuel pumps in those cars look like. The two mk3 came with injector, I never had problems with it. Even the old sycro mk2 '86, I changed the injector to carb and I still enjoyed it. There are some cases like urs. Pls do try to patronize good mecho. I miss my golfs.

@gmy, your Mk 3 'mark 3' must be a junk, what is in golf 3 to spend time at mechan. I used 2 golf 3, and one golf 2 syncro they are almost problem free. I could possibly fix any thing on them. I retired when I leant Mk IV is problematic.
