Nnamdi Kanu this, Nnamdi Kanu that. What Kanu or IPOB has to do with Yoruba land, I will never know.

Ask Fayose and FKK what IPOB got to do with Afonjas.
Christianity EtcRe: Bisi Alimi: "Pastor Adeboye Is Irresponsible And Vile" by BabaAduras:
mexxmoney:
God will punish this bisi alimi and all those demonically inspired idiots who the devil is using to fight the church.
I do not believe a group of people are fighting the Church. All they are doing is challenging the "Status Quo" especially on Tithes and Pastors are living a life of Affluence while the followers are living a life of Penury.

Unfortunately, the Pastors have not been able to support their stands on Tithes with biblical backings. They have resulted to emotional responses and name calling. They have not been able to challenge the biblical portions the Challengers have referred to. That is the fact on ground my friend.

In this tread, forget about Bisi Alimi, he will answer to God for his deeds on the Judgement Day. I would like you to respond to his comments - Pastor Adeboye is one of the richest Pastors on earth and we all know he is a full time Pastor, same goes for almost all the GOs. The one billion dollar question is, what is their source of their wealth? Book writing that they cajole the followers to buy? Anointing Oil and Water? Offerings and Tithes? Gifts and donations in Millions and Billions? Honorariums from preaching all over the globe? - It all boils down to milking the poor worshippers and aligning with the politicians that are looting our commonwealth.

These are facts that the social media/platforms are bringing to the forefront of discussion that you called "fighting the church".

The truth is before the advent of internet all over Nigeria, the people that dictates the social waves are the Pastors and Politicians, they paid to be aired on radio and TVs - so whatever garbage they dished out was what was driving the social sphere. But now, almost everybody have access to free social platforms where they can air their opinions and views, so the era of the Pastors or the Politicians exclusively running our social sphere is dead and gone. The best they can do now is pay some bloggers to propagate their lies, still they do not have the exclusivity.

You should learn to get use to challenges and be ready to defend whatever you putting forward with facts. In this new world, emotions and name calling does not cut it no more.

You have spoken well save for two issues you mentioned: 1) the igbos won’t be President in this country for a very long time so quit prevaricating. 2) Osinbajo is a good man from my native Ogun State and I respect him as a fellow professional and as a man of God. But that is where it stops. I don’t have confidence in him to stand up and speak when Christian lives are at stake. As mad as Fayose is, I trust him to say and do the right things to protect my interest where Hausa Islamic extremists are. Osinbajo is all grammar and no action. We are tired of English and we need tough Christians in positions of power. President Trump is a crazy man but Christians all around the world trust him to fight Islamic terrorism. Thank you.
1) If we want to be fair and treat every Nigerian as equals, an Igbo man should be the next President of this country come 2023 after PMB. I will campaign and vote for a good Igbo candidate irrespective of party. I pray and hope we have an Igbo president then.

2) I do not see the Atewas as Islamic Extremists. They are Muslims and they do have the right to practice and propagate their religion same as we Christians have the right to right to practice and pro propagate our religion, same goes for the Atheists and Idol worshippers. No human being have the right to force his belief(ves) on the other. That is called Religious Tolerance. Also there Christian Hausas and there Muslim Yorubas. We should move away from religious bigotry in politics.

3) You have the right to campaign and vote for any Nigerian so I will not challenge your trust in Fayose. I also have the right to campaign and vote for any Nigerian of my choice and I am saying Atiku and Fayose are thieves, I will never vote for them. I will cast my vote for tried and trusted pair of PMB and his Vice.

Note - you did not address my point on Fayose and Atiku as being theives, you only said you will trust Fayose because he is mad and he will speak for you.

Questions, is Fayose speaking for Ekiti people? Has he ever spoken for then or any Nigerian? I do not believe so, because if he does he will not conspire with his PDP cohorts to steal our commonwealth. All Fayose is doing is playing political games of self survival. He is selfish, self centered and totally corrupt. I knew Fayose since Student Union days at Federal Poly, Ilaro, he never changed, he has been playing the games for long.
PoliticsRe: If Nigeria Makes The Mistake Of Bringing Back Buhari In 2019 - FFK by BabaAduras:

The key lies with who Atiku chooses as his VP candidate. If he makes a mistake of choosing those people like I warned in my other thread, he would lose the election before the actual polls and casting of ballot. We don’t hate any tribe but we only say what is in the mind of millions of Nigerians.

Fayose has a cult following amongst Christians. Atiku can always avail himself of the Fayose resource. Fayose is a thorn in Buhari and extremist muslims’ flesh. He is there for Atiku’s picking.
With the likes of you, Nigeria and Nigerians are in serious trouble. You are proposing known and certified thieves to take over the helms of affair of the country in the name of politics?

Let Atiku go to the US to clear his money laundering case. His co-conspirator is already serving his jail term. When Fayose completes his governorship tenure, he will answer for the loot he and Obankoro shared. Obankoro is already paying back through plead bargaining.

Going tribal, the last thing any right thinking IPOB or Igbo man would do is to vote for Atiku, that is automatically postponing their right/chance to the presidency of this country from 2023 to 2027 because Atiku will want 8 years in office. It will also mean 12 years of Arewa continuous ruling. The political juganuts in the Igboland are aware of this. APGA the party of choice for IPOBs is more inclined towards APC for gracefully conceding Anambra governorship election.

The Afonjas are too egalitarian to vote based on religion, so forget the issue of Fayose having the Afonjas Christians. In fact the Afonjas sees Fayose as nothing more than a comedian and FKK as a Bastard that will sing any tune once he sees money. There is no one more moral and upright, politically visible figure in Afonja land than VP Osinbajo, and there no one more Christian than him (A Leading Pastor of RCCG).

The fact that the Arewas will vote PMB for the second term is beyond contestations, PDP at the height of its powers in 2008 and 2011 could not stop PMB in the Arewa land. The only thing that will change that support is if PMB is not running.

Those are the facts, Atiku et al are dead on arrival even with an IPOB is his choice of VP talk less of an Afonja VP.

OBAGADAFFI:
Giving and tithing has never been compulsory in Christianity.

But what people are giving should never be debated by people who don't give.

Churches don't live on Tithes alone, infact Tithers are always fewer in numbers compared to other offerings.
Church can survive without Tithes.
You totally missed the point. The point is Churches should not live tithes at all nor do churches make it compulsory for anybody to tithe.

Churches have gone so bad on tithes that they are cursing those that do not bring their tithes to the church. That is purely not biblical.

T.B Joshua is not a prophet but a sorcerer!

He is an outcast and a spiritual bastard as far as the Nigerian christian community is concerned.

CAN does not know him!
PFN does not know him!

The Catholic church believes in tithing,
The Protestants also believe in tithing.

T.B Joshua does not fall in any category, so it is ok for him to tell his members to pay their tithes in anyway they deem fit. The question is, is that scriptural?

T.B Joshua is a dundee utd!
No bible sense at all.

Useless demonized pair from hell!
Knowing TB Joshua from his starting days in the Ikotun/Egbe/Egbeda axis (My sister rented a house close to the church then), I would say you might be right on your comment that he is sorcerer. The truth is he will one day face God to give his account. That is only thing I think you might be right on in your submissions.

I see your other comments as totally irrelevant to the subject matter. What is so special about recognition by CAN and PFN? Is that what make a Pastor authentic? I do not see CAN and PFN more Pastorprenuers-political jobbers. Tell me what they have done for the body of Christ than to use their association cultivate political office seekers.

You said TB Joshua is not Biblical, then you and CAN and PFN should go biblical to counter Daddy Freeze and Pastor Aribisala submissions on Tithes.

I put to you that if we go by biblical, the Law on tithes is given by God in Duet 14: from 22 to the end. If we are going by Grace, the death of Christ has wiped out all those laws including the bogey Mal 3: 8-10 that the likes of you quote on tithes. The section you always quote excluding Mal 2:1 where it stated God was addressing Pastors on the same very thing that is been practice today - stealing from the coffers of the church. During the lifetime Jesus, it never recorded in the bible that He paid/collected tithes. Also, it was never recorded in the Bible that the Disciples (the foremost Pastors) paid/collected tithes.

So please go biblical to counter these facts.

Christianity EtcThe Truth About Tithing: Courtroom Exchanges Between A US Judge And A US Pastor by BabaAduras(op): 7:31pm On Nov 29, 2017
The truth about tithing
(unknown author)

Judge: Mr. Jones you have been charged with multiple counts of extortion. Your crime spree covers 20 years and thousands of victims. You have defrauded people out of their money with fear and manipulation, telling them they had to tithe 10% of their income as per the LAW to your Regd. organization (called Church) and that God would bless them if they did. You also told them that if they didn't tithe God would curse them. How do you plead?

Mr. Jones: I plead not guilty your Honor. I have done nothing wrong. I have only preached what the Bible says. In the Bible Abraham tithed to Melchizedek and God blessed him for his faithful giving. The Bible even says he was rich in silver and gold.

Judge: Is it not true, Mr. Jones, that in Genesis chapter 13 verse 2 the Bible says Abraham was rich with livestock, silver and gold?

Mr. Jones: Yes, you are exactly right, that's what I just told you.

Judge: Ok, we read about Abraham being a rich man in chapter 13 but it is not until Genesis chapter 14 that we read about Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek. So Abraham was already a rich man before he tithed to Melchizedek, wasn't he?

Mr. Jones: Yes, I suppose you are right.

Judge: So his riches were not the result of his tithe to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: No.

Judge: Mr. Jones, you also say God blessed him for his faithful giving. How many times is it recorded that Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: Well, just once.

Judge: So the Bible never said that he gave week after week?

Mr. Jones: No it does not.

Judge: Where did Abraham get the things that he gave to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: Well the Bible says it was from the plunders of war?

Judge: So you are telling me that he gave from the plunders of war?

Mr. Jones: Yes that's what the Bible says.

Judge: So he basically took things that were not really his in the first place and gave them as the tithe?

Mr. Jones: That is what the scripture seems to indicate.

Judge: Is it recorded that he ever took anything from his own possessions and tithed them to Melchizedek or anyone else?

Mr. Jones: I guess not

Judge: You guess not, you are a teacher and you are only guessing, is it or is it not written that he ever gave any of his own possessions as a tithe to anyone?

Mr. Jones: No it is not written anywhere that I have seen.

Judge: Is it recorded as to what exactly Abraham did give Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: I believe it says plunder?

Judge: So plunder could be any number of things?

Mr. Jones: Yes, I suppose

Judge: It could have been food, cattle, sheep, the people's possessions or any number of things. It does not say it was all money correct?

Mr. Jones: Yes you are correct, it does not say just money

Judge: As a matter of fact money is never mentioned in that account at all is that correct Mr. Jones?

Mr. Jones: Yes your Honor, money is never mentioned just goods and food and people.

Judge: So there is no way you can say with any certainty that Abraham in fact gave Melchizedek any money at all?

Mr. Jones: That is right.

Judge: I only have one last question for you Mr. Jones, did God command Abraham to give this plunder tithe to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: No, it appears that he did this voluntarily.

Judge: So are you trying to tell me that because of this voluntary, one time gift by Abraham, that may not have even consisted of money, all Christians everywhere are obligated to bring 10% of their weekly paycheck to a local Regd.Organization-church? Considering all the evidence I would say you are beyond any shadow of a doubt guilty of deliberately trying to make the scriptures says things they have not said for financial gain.

Mr. Jones: Ok your Honor, I can see how foolish I was to try and use the story of Melchizedeck to try and get the people to tithe money. But there are many other verses that will support my belief on tithing. Jacob said he would give God 10% of everything. I think we should follow his example.

Judge: Let's see what Jacob said. Please read the verse you are talking about for me Mr. Jones.

Mr. Jones: In Genesis chapter 28 starting at verse 20 it says. Jacob vowed a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on, so that I come again to my father's house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God, then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God's house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you."

Judge: You said we should follow Jacobs example, is that right Mr. Jones?

Mr. Jones: Yes that is right, he vowed to give a tenth and we should too.

Judge: Let me point out one thing for you Mr. Jones, Jacob said he would Give God a tenth, ONLY if He blessed him first. So as you said previously, we should follow Jacob's example and tell God that we will only give him a tenth if he blesses us first. Is that right?

Mr. Jones: That is not what I meant.

Judge: What did you mean then?

Mr. Jones: That we should give God a tenth also.

Judge: There you go again, trying to make the scripture say what you want it to say for your benefit. I would also like you to tell me the scriptures that say that Jacob kept his vow with God. I would also like to know where he gave the tenth to because there was no temple or levites to give it to at that time.

Mr. Jones: I can not think of any scriptures that say where or if he ever tithed after his vow.

Judge: It seems fairly obvious to me that Jacob made a voluntary and conditional vow to God. This in no way can be used as a reason to demand others to bring their income to you or any other place.

Mr. Jones: I do have a few more scriptures that I believe will show that we are supposed to tithe.

Judge: You have not said anything yet to convince me one little bit that people are obligated to tithe money to the local organizational institutions -churches and that you were justified in what you were doing. You have taken scripture and misapplied it to your beliefs and for your gain. But in order to be fair to you I will allow you to present more evidence.

Mr. Jones: In the book of Malachi chapter 3 starting at verse 8 it says, will a man rob God? yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, In what have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now with this, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. So you see your Honor, we are commanded to bring the tithes into the storehouse or God will curse us.

Judge: Answer me this Mr Jones, Who was God Speaking to here?

Mr Jones: To the People of Israel

Judge: Can you please read Malachi 2: 1 Please Mr Jones

Mr Jones: Now This command is for you O PRIEST !!

Judge: Did God stop talking to the Priest in chp. 3 Mr Jones?

Mr Jones: No your Honor!

Judge: Answer me this Mr. Jones, were you aware that God never required anyone to tithe money?

Mr. Jones: No I didn't know that.

Judge: The tithe spoken of here was always edible products never money.

Mr. Jones: well your Honor that is because they didn't have money at the time so God had them tithe food instead.

Judge: Not true, money is first mentioned in Genesis and Malachi was written hundreds of years later. God had them bring food in so that the levites, the fatherless and widows may eat and be satisfied. The tithe was used mainly to take care of people. Also notice it says in the verse you quoted, that there may be food in my house. The food was the tithe. How do you completely overlook the word food in those verses?

Mr. Jones: I don't know

Judge: I also want you to know that these verses speak to nation under the Old Testament law. As you may or may not know Jesus fulfilled the law, it is no longer binding. Once again you have tried to completely take a scripture out of context and apply it to others for your benefit. Can you give me a single scripture where God changed the tithe from food to money?

Mr. Jones: I do not know of any.

Judge: So if God never changed it from food to money who did?

Mr. Jones: Man must have.

Judge: So far all you have done Mr. Jones, is take Old Testament scriptures out of context and try to apply it to believers under the New Covenant. Is this all the proof you have?

Mr. Jones: I do have a New Testament scripture that will show that Jesus told us to tithe.

Judge: Ok let me hear it.

Mr. Jones: Jesus said in Matthew 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone. See Jesus said we should be tithing.

Judge: Let me ask you a question, who was Jesus talking to?

Mr. Jones: The scripture says the Scribes and Pharisees.

Judge: Are you a scribe or Pharisee?

Mr. Jones: Of course not.

Judge: Jesus also said in that passage, you have left undone the weightier matters of the law. Are we under the law Mr. Jones?

Mr. Jones: No.

Judge: Why not?

Mr. Jones: Because Jesus fulfilled it.

Judge: When did Jesus fulfill the law?

Mr. Jones: When He was crucified.

Judge: So the law was still in effect until Jesus death?

Mr. Jones: That is correct.

Judge: I think you know where I am going with this don't you?

Mr. Jones: Yes your Honor. Since Jesus had not yet been crucified and the law was still binding the Pharisees were required to tithe because it was part of the law. Once the law ended, tithing ended also.

Judge: I want you to take a look at that verse again. Also tell me, what were they tithing?

Mr. Jones: The scripture says it was mint, dill and cumin.

Judge: Is money mentioned?

Mr. Jones: No it was not.

Judge: Once again it was edible products that they were tithing, not money. Do you have anything else you would like to say?

Mr. Jones: If people only tithed edible products like the scripture says, then how would the church survive? We have our mortgage payment, utility bills, staff salary and a host of other things that we have to pay each week. We depend on the money from the people.

Judge:By "church" you mean your organization isn't it Mr Jones ? The need does not justify the means. In other words, just because you have all these debts does not give you the right to twist and manipulate scripture and cause people to give under fear of being cursed by God to meet your needs. Does It Mr Jones?

In closing, let me recap a few things for you Mr. Jones.

-The tithe was never money;

-The tithe was an Old Testament law, which is no longer binding. When it was binding the tithe was used to take care of people, not buildings.

- We are under a new covenant now. Paul instructs the Corinthian believers how they are to give. He says in second Corinthians chapter 9 verse 7, Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. So each believer is supposed to give as he or she has determined in his or her heart. If they determine to Give 10% well and good, If they keep aside some every week to meet this more better. If you are trying to make people give under the threat of being cursed or any other reason even blessing, you are wrong. Someone can not give cheerfully if they are being forced to give. If 'your church can not survive on freewill offerings maybe God is not part of your church at all.

Mr Jones, Do you intentionally put your people under a Curse or a Bondage?

Mr Jones: Of Course Not !!

Judge: Can you Read in context Gal 3:10-11 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them .... AND Gal 5:1-4 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage....

Mr. Jones: I never realized all these things, I have always been taught that we had to tithe money to the local church and that is what I have always taught. I can see now that I was completely wrong. I did not study the scripture for myself, I only took mans word for it. Yes ' am guilty. I will not teach this error anymore.

Sentencing....... All Arise .......

Pastor Jones jailed for telling members to tithe 10% of their incomes.

Other voices like Pastor Bakare and Aribisala have been preaching against the doctrine of tithing as been presently preached well before Daddy Freeze.

Note that I did not start the biblical quotations, you did. And you did not provide any defense to biblical injunctions on tithes as stated in Duet 14 from 22 to the end. You only changed the trust of the discussion.

That is hypocrisy I see in the Churches nowadays. We are more interested in preaching the "gospel of tithe payment and offering contributions as a pre-condition for God's blessing that leads to prosperity"

We pay less attention to "accepting and seeking Jesus and the kingdom of God as only pre-condition for God's blessings that lead everything good in life including prosperity.

Please also note the Jesus we are supposed to constantly seek and project and the only way to heaven did not enjoin us to pay tithes.

God bless you too. Thanks.

Thanks for your OPINION. But We walk on God's terms and leading. Our good deeds are best described as self-righteousness.Giving to others could be alms or anything but not tithe or offering.Tithe simply means tenth part of your income to God not pastors or the needy.Tithers,as u'll like to call them ,also give alms and give to the needy.

Bring ye ALL THE TITHES into the storehouse,
that there may be meat IN MY HOUSE...
If you are quoting biblical portions on tithes, what about Duet 14 from vs 22 to the end. That is where God laid the foundations for tithes. There He gave the purpose for tithes and what we should do with our tithes. The Malaki 3:10 is talking about the portion that should be in the storehouse for strangers and visitors that the Levites were stealing then. You should not quote Malaki 3:10 in isolation. You need to look at the portion from Malaki 2 from beginning to that 3:10 verse. It was referring to the Levites.

Going back to Duet 14 from verse 22. God said a portion of the tithes is for Strangers and Levites, I believe it is this portion the is kept in the storehouse that is now been stolen by Levites and that is what Malaki 3:10 was admonishing the Levites to return to the storehouse. There is no contradictions in the directives of God. We are the ones quoting out of context to suite our purposes.

The lowdown is I follow the bible they way God gives me understanding to not the way any Pastor or the multitude wants me to because I will not be answerable to the Pastor or the multitude on the day of judgement, I will only be answerable to God, my Creator. Same goes for everyone of us.

I have respect for oyedepo. God has used him to do a lot great things for his Kingdom. He founded two universities in Nigeria with facilities comparable to what is obtainable outside the shore of this country and he has plans to build another one in Ghana.
His achievement alone is enough for anyone to swallow whatever he says as the ultimate truth coming from God.
In as much as I believe in giving to the church, the idea that a Christian must tithe is one that even Bishop oyedepo will not convince me to accept. It is obvious that such practice were done away with all the other loads of practices recorded in the old testament.
The only giving acceptable and recorded in the new testament is free will donation. Any other giving is nothing but manmade.
However those who feel they must tithe are free to do so but saying that those who don't tithe are cursed and going to hell is nothing but madness.
God bless you for your comment.

I believe in tithing but I do not give my tithes to the church. I see my tithe as my token contribution to mankind, so I give my tithes to orphanages and needy people around me.

Sincerely yours, any Pastor that is proclaiming curses because of tithes is nothing but a desperate Pastorprenuer. If they are truly sent by God, they should know better that it is not in their power to bless or to curse. That Power only resides with God almighty to whom we all are going to return to to give account of stewardship on earth.

So I know I do not have to please any Pastor, the only Beign I need to fear and please is God. If I find favour with God, who is a pastor ( a mere mortal like me) to curse me? We should all know that Pastors pronouncements (especially those that are biblical) are very inconsequential.

I can tell you I am enjoying the favour of God. I am enjoying not because of anything I do or I am doing, I am only enjoying it ONLY because it pleases God. HE says, "I will have mercy on who I will mercy on". That is His SOVEREIGNTY over us.

Why can't you pause and think at least for 5 seconds before commenting on a tread. It is unfortunate that God created people like you that can not engage their reasoning faculty before taking any action.

The tread says the explosion was in a mosque during morning prayers, what has Fulanis killing of Christians got to do with that? The explosion happened in Mubi (a predominant Fulani town), what has Fulanis killing other tribes got to do with that?

You have no compassion for people that woke early in the morning to worship God and lost their lives, all you can see is colouration in Religion and Tribalism. I am very sorry for the likes of you because you are a sorry case.

My dear sister, disappointment is part of life. Learn to live with it and move on. It is only God that does not disappoint.

Most people criticising pastors do not even pay tithe or contribute more than 2000 naira for a church project, and they make the loudest noise.

Real givers in church who give large amount of money does so secretly without anyone's knowledge.

People, if as a contractor, i win a big contract or i get promoted in my job with the aid of my pastors prayers, omo, what is 10% or more to give God back?

If you can't pay tithe, leave those that understands the kingdom's principles of tithing to continue.

A check on my bosses, have shown that they donate massively in church projects/pay tithes, reason they keep getting it back in folds.

I have some Alhaji friends (non-fanatics) who whenever i give them invitation for a church project launching, they willingly give me big money in an envelope to give to the Church.

WE NEED A CREED ON CHRISTIAN THREADS HERE JUST LIKE THE MUSLIMS HAVE
.
There is a difference between tithing and donating to the church.

Nobody is questioning donating to the church for whatever purpose, but then it should be voluntary and cheerfully given. The bible says God loves a cheerful giver and the Bilbe also said we should not go before God empty handed.

It seems the donations and offerings are.not enough for the Pastorprenuers, they want the tithes which the are preaching that you must comprusily bring to the church. That is crux of the discussion. Pastorprenuers demand tithes are going against Gods commandment as given in Duet 14 from verse 22 to the end. That portion of the bible gives the reason for tithing and what "you" not your "Pastor" should do with your tithe.

I believe in tithing but I do not believe in taking my tithe to the Pastor. My tithe is for me, to buy whatever my soul desire, it is for for widows and orphans within my gate, it is for helping strangers, and, a portion, at my discretion is for the Levites (which I take as Pastors). The key word there is I control the portion of the tithe that goes to the Pastor.

Brethren, this is not a make up, it is clearly stated in Duet 14, verse 22 to the end. Doing anything contrary to this Gods commandment is nothing but SIN.

He couldn't even say if tithing is a Christian doctrine or a stretch of the old testament. He made some sense but I think his defense was more emotional than scriptural or even logical.

The doctor analogy doesn't hold water in this case. You don't need be a good footballer or tailor to know a good tailor or footballer. Their work will tell you about them. That line was off.

I think his statement was laced some of the properties of mischief. Tacitly attacking the guy and telling what tithe is used for. But the point should be, is tithing Christian? Is it something a Christian ought do?

Instead of focusing on the subject we are here deflecting the shots and telling tales to defend or seen to be at peace with our mentor! I've not seen a good argument against that troublesome guy's position.

http://www.mortalpoet.com/brothers-beggars-street-tithe-church/
The truth is they have no defense against Deu 14: 22-29. You will never hear it preached in any church. That is where God laid the foundation for tithe. In that section of the bible God gave the reason why you tithe and what you should do with your tithe. In fact the directives in that portion of the Bible is so emphatical, it is "thou shall". No questioning the directives.

The "Pastorprenuers" who rather pretend this portion of Gods commandment does not exist so they can continue to "shopulate" what is meant for you, the widows, the strangers, orphans and the Levites (the pastors). It is a question of greed, the Pastorprenuers wants total control of the tithe instead of the portion that your are supposed to give them (as a portion to the Levites) at your discretion.

I put it forward to all that believe in tithing that you are committing sin by going against the commandment of God as given in Deut 14: 22-29 if you give your tithe to the church or to the Pastor. That means you fear the Pastor or Church more than God.
